D. B.Great place to visit, made even better thanks to Pav who looked after us for the 2 hours we were there. I had the burger which was really good. I stuck with the red stripe to drink but the rest tried quite a few of the cocktails (I don't believe they had one they didn't like) . The place was spotless and the rest of the staff were good also. The only down side was the distance to the toilets, which was up a number stairs

Unlimited non-alcoholic drinks if you have a breakfast there.
C. R.Busy and energetic with a cool interior. The staff is nice but maybe in a way that is too over the top. The food is insane, tried the big vegan grill down, which was far better than any vegan English breakfast I’ve had, and the sweet corn roti roll was delicious too.

I got 2 drinks for the price of one as it was happy hour, the drinks were amazing!
The burger was so tasty and very filling, everything tasted fresh.
The staff made sure you were happy, but were not smothering you.
The prices are not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.
Even the napkins were washable, helping the environment at the same time.
If you are in the area, Turtle bay Durham is a great place to visit.
You have the option of inside or outside dining which is great.
I had to give this place 5 stars, I will be back soon!
K. 9.Sunday evening with a group of work friends. Place had a nice buzzing vibe to it. The waiter got us drinks straight away and the food came in good time. Spicy chicken burger was really good. Great place for big groups.

K. T.The food was really tasty- had the chilli cheese roti to start, then the coconut fried chicken with Mac n cheese as my main. Had two for one zombie cocktails. Initially, when we were seated, no one else was around us, which, in covid times, was quite reassuring, but then two large families came and were were seated either side of us, one with a particularly loud child, too. We were kind of boxed in, in a corner,and it was quite hard for staff to even reach our table, without having to squeeze behind other diners. Without even asking, one of the staff came over and basically said he realised we were quite boxed in and would we like to be reseated to another table, on the upper level, at the back. We gladly accepted this offer, as we did feel a little boxed in, and we had more space and it was a little quieter. Will definitely be back. Service was fantastic and clearly very conscientious. Enjoyed the decor and the food was excellent. Value for money was about average.

D. M.Friendly staff, food was ok, nothing to complain about but not amazing. I'd say a touch on the expensive side for portion size. Only one lager and one pale ale on keg, neither are great offerings for quality beer fans. They have some other beers in bottles but they have all been rebadged with Turtle Bay so you don't actually know what they are charging nearly £6 for. So in summary it's an ok visit, you will probably enjoy it but not somewhere I would seek out especially to revisit

T. H.Delicious food and drinks. Never had Caribbean style food before but will definitely have it again! Lovely style and the atmosphere was chill. My group had ribs, corn and shrimp starters, jerk chicken, salmon and a half chicken mains that we all shared. Everything was delicious. S. B.We visited turtle bay yesterday evening for our weekly date night, service was impeccable! Carly our waitress was polite, bubbly and attentive.
Food was tasty however I would like to offer some constructive feedback, I had the jerk chicken it was delicious but the jerk gravy was a bit overwhelming and smothered my chicken. Perhaps having it on the side would make the meal more appetising.
Cocktails where refreshing and had great presentation, overall an excellent experience thank you.

As a previous student at Durham University I would 100% rate Turtle Bay for pre drinks! You will need to pre-book the bottomless brunch (10 am - 5 pm) Sunday-Friday but it is absolutely worth it before a pub crawl!

Josh was our server and he was brilliant, really knowledgeable about the food and the drinks , kept the drinks flowing and was really friendly and chatty,
The food was really nicely presented and so tasty!

J. R.The venue has a cosy vibe but is actually really big inside. They have a terrace where you can eat and view the river which I'd like to try next time. The bar and drinks were great. The food wasn't bad but wasn't good either. Overdone at times. There were long waits on service and courses arriving, but we were visiting as a very large party so this may be better when in a smaller group. I'd try it again as it has potential.
