S. P.Absolutely beautiful meal with my hubby. I had moussaka. Hubby has chicken shawarma wrap with chips and a plate of gyros, which was by far the nicest out of the 3 dishes! We also brought home some orange cake for dessert.... amazing service and outstanding food!!
M. H.The food tasted nice, but portion size are poor and overpriced. Ordered the Greek salad at £6/7 all I got was half a bowl of salad and Feta cheese was crumbs, no cubes..Before it hit table I had to mention and complained.
Main chips were undercooked and not crispy plus varied between dishes. Lamb chops were tasty. Overall cannot understand why meal took extra 20min to arrive than it should when restaurant not busy. Open kitchen and could see chef eating, while waiting for our food.
Atmosphere and location good.
E. P.Hand on heart some of the best Greek food I’ve had. Delicious! Never thought in County Durham I’d be eating good Greek food but there you go. Also had a great bottle of wine to go with it - would 100% go back.
L. C.Food is great. Its a little small and cramped but still has a great atmosphere, drinks are a little pricey. Been a few times and will be back. Would love to order something other than the mix grill but why would I?

Service is great, food is absolutely exquisite and thoughtfully presented. It's also very reasonably priced so is well worth a visit. I heartily recommend the Gyros and Souvlaki.

L. T.Love Yannis. We've been eating here on a regular basis since we moved to Lanchester five years ago and even though it has changed ownership in the time, the food has remained excellent. Can't recommend enough (although some Greek wine wouldn't go amiss on the menu...).
P. E. (.Great authentic style Greek restaurant. Great value for money, and has a classic taverns vibe, not flashy just good. If you want wine, you must bring your own.
V. S.First time visiting Yannis and trying Greek food and we weren't disappointed. We had the Gyros which was very nice. The staff and service were really good too.
The only criticism I have is that it is cash only as we were nearly caught out by this. Luckily I noticed this before we ordered and was able to go to a cashpoint and get some money.

C. Y.Service very slow and we were very cold as we weren't sat near to 1 of the two heaters in the building.It is a cash only restaurant so several of our party had to go out to cashpoint.
On a positive tho' the food was good and the waitress helpful and friendly.

D. R.Very affordable restaurant serving traditional Greek dishes and pizza. Take away is also available. I thought portions were slightly small but very tasty nonetheless. Service was OK, fast and no fuss. The back room we were in was quite noisy, possibly just the other diners or it could be the acoustics.

Really tasty, staff always friendly. Would recommend. I love the pittas. I have a big appetite so normally get a pizza to take home too.
Staff friendly, serve mythos, Greek music go in summer in your shorts and tee shirt and it’s a proper Greek experience 👍🏻
C. T.Absolute hidden gem. Family recommended the place so we went today for the 3 course lunch time special for £6.95. Food was fantastic and reminded me so much of Greece. Family run restaurant and the staff were really friendly. Will definitely be back again! This place doesn't take cards so you'll need to bring cash however there is a cash point across the road next to Spar.

R. S.I enjoyed the food here. However service was a little slow. We were pretty much forgotten. Our starters were taken to the next table, we had to ask twice for water and we ended up just going to pay after nobody came over to us towards the end.

m. p.Very nice place. Very accommodating. You can get bet beer in the place but not wine, which your allowed to bring and consume your own. Cash only payments. Service is quick and the food is of a good standard. Fairly priced as well. They are happy hour deals.
P. A.What a wonderful, delicious and budget friendly visit to Yannis. We chose from the special 3-course menu and we weren't disappointed. Our meal for two cost around £16 and the service was excellent.

B. C.Discovered this little gek about 2 years ago and have abused it constantly ever since. Excellent quality fresh food at very reasonable prices and a nice atmosphere. Best time to go is between 12-2 or 5-7 for the set menu prices. Get yourself there!
