I’m leaving for a while in Dublin and visiting several countries, Brazilian food is always hard to find (good ones of course) . This restaurant definitely surprised me, we had the coxinha, risole, fish Moqueca and the Chinchin de galinha, both were delicious. The caipirinha also really well done and the environment was really pleasant. What surprised me the most was that no Brazilian people working in the kitchen, but they are cooking much better then loads of Brazilian restaurants in Brazil. Highly recommend the visit.

The food was absolutely amazing. Best tempura mixed frito and the best caramel "cheescake", which I had lately. The team was very friendly. Great service. The Chef also created a desired sauce for the fish plateau, which was very kind from his part. The music was great, as well. I definitely recommend it. We had ordered two cocktail, fish cakes, calamari for starters and OMG delicious!! Then we ordered traditional mains and again OMG delicious!! To full to have dessert may be next time lol. We gave 4 stars because the website menu is not same as when you go to the restaurant, that was a bummer. I had chosen what I wanted before arriving and it was not available. It was a different menu. Also, it be a good idea to dim the lights a bit for a nicer ambience. Food was a decent price. They played traditional music which I loved. Overall a fab night and can't wait to go back.

I went to the Hogmanay festival, not to dinner. The atmosphere was good, the music acceptable, but the drinks were not the best. Probably, it was my fault because I have been in Brazil and I know about their food and beverage, but I drunk the worst caipirinha that I have ever tried. The girl has not idea how to prepare it. She also was not very friendly. That was a not pleasant experience. For the rest was really good.

Not the best experience, a lot of the meats were served cold when we ordered the meat platter and the caipirinhas tasted a bit 'off' (couldn't taste the cachaça and had barely any sugar in it...basically was like drinking straight lemon juice). Had a good vibe inside over all though, just needs a bit more attention to the food and drink.

Ive been to Boteco many a time throughout the years and cant say I am a fan. When they had Brahma it was ALWAYS oxidised and sometimes stale, the decoration is awful, stereotypical Latino from the 70s and borderline offensive and the food is either really bad (talking about the non edible Acarajé I once had) or okish but extremely overpriced (4x mini coxinhas for 7 quid is just a joke). At the end of the day if youre Brazilian and you need a place to watch a specific football match along with the community or you wanna club and looking for something "Latino" like Salsa or Reggaeton and don't care that there is nothing Brazilian in it, this place might do the job, just... Otherwise just stay away and whatever you do PLEASE dont take this place as a reference for anything Brazil.

Good vibe, the staff is very friendly. Although you need to specify the order in which you want your food to come. We ordered for starters and main course. The main course came before the starters. The cocktails are really nice. We enjoyed everything apart from the beef, the strips is more like fillets and the texture wasn't that good. The slow cooked beef waa obviously not slow cooked.

Among all the brazilian restaurants in Europe, definitely they have the best food. Have tried feijoada, picanha, frango a passarinho and calabresa. Everything was amazing and delicious. Good service. Highly recommended.

The place is really good, the service is amazing specially Thaminni! Is the most professional, friendly and helpful waitress that I ever met 👌 The food is really tasty but I'm really disappointed with the picanha because is served without rice and without farofa. The Caipirinha is so good also the desserts! I recommend the brigadeiro and caramel cheesecake.

Fantastic customer service all staff members. This is a superb location for a party or event. The food is also excellent and the traditional tapas were loved by all. We went as a large group and were all treated so well. The atmosphere is so fun and friendly and people got up and started dancing because the live music was so immersive and fun. Will certainly return for another night out! Could not fault it!

Mussels fabulous, chips good, service excellent, although these were good, I was let down by the deal of the day (ribs). It tasted like old meat covered in lots of sauce to mask the taste. The burgers looked nice. Regardless the service, mussels and chips would have scored a 5 star but the ribs were a 1 on taste.

Service was a little up and down, they were great for the most part but when we asked for the drinks menu back they brought it out and then didn't come to take our order like they had previously (we waited 20-30ish mins and we were one of 3 tables being occupied in the entire building). It's a super nice place for a night out. Will return for some dance classes soon. We liked the fact that there's the upper level with super dancers, great for anyone who wants to learn more. The basement was super fun, too. So go there and hit the dance floor :)

Torn between 4 and 5 star. I went in for a cheap lunch. Food was good; tasty and satisfying - however uber-excellent value for money. Service was fantastic and my £4 cocktail was brilliant; freshly shaken. Decor a tiny bit tired, but generally jolly and a nice vibe: wasn't crowded, Brazilian music played. Can recommend if you're looking for so something cheap and very cheerful.

Basic decor, quiet at lunchtime. But the food was excellent. Clams and mussels were tender and tasty. The Brasilian stew was a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach. Lovely sweet. All in all a great experience at lunchtime.

Spotted this place on the way to another venue and thought how nice it looked, so went back early evening. Our server Ali was brilliant, attentive but not overbearing and so pleasant and smiley. Had a lovely experience at Boteco the other day!! Drinks were great and great atmosphere!! One thing that's strange is that not all of the drinks/cocktails are on the app, so you have to ask one of the servers to bring you the menu and order through them. highly recommend though as these are the best cocktails!! The drinks on the app are mainly beers/ciders and simple mixers. I got the June Bug through ordering through a server and recommend! Marco was a great server as well, made great conversation with us, and checked on us throughout our reservation. Will be going back!!

Really nice place. Drinks were cold and there was lots of choice, prices were also good. Stayed outside in the seating area. We were under shade which was nice. Wasn't happy about being hounded from server about T&T when it was already done. Distancing from other tables was great either. For caring so much about covid surely they would separate people more. Toilet also wasn't in great condition. But overall, would come back.

A fun place for a night out with a dancefloor, bar and some booths downstairs. The basement floor has limited cocktails (caipirinha/mojito) for £6.50-7.50 each. They have Brahma beer. The music is Latin. Upstairs they had live music and a proper bar with a Brazilian theme and more cocktails. There was free entry and only a short queue at 11pm on a Saturday night.

My personal experience was amazing. Nice, different food offerings, reasonably priced. My margarita was strong and delicious. My waitress from Argentina and she was nailing the service. This restaurant / bar / club is more renowned for its salsa beats and a quite good Latin night. But also has a lovely restaurant that serves some good food and a great bar with a lovely collection of spirit. There are gigs that happens with performances on some nights and regular dance classes around the week. There is a dj also through the week playing different genres of music.. it now has some lovely outdoor seating and good views

My first time here, went to get a takeaway . The first impression wasn't really good! The waitress was not welcoming or friendly and just muttered "Yes?" as I walked in and took my order. I was never told to take a seat while I waited, or asked if I would like to buy a drink while I waited for my food. The place was fairly busy, but not mega busy to justify the 30min wait for my food! The food was actually tasty and very good portions. I was observing the waiters and barman and they all seemed stressed and did not look happy, a very strange vibe... They did not even have a full house. I have been to Brazil many times and this place does not reflect the typical Brazilian hospitality! To be fair, I don't think any of the staff were Brazilian ...

As far as dining during the day: the vibe is bright and fun, and the moqueca is to die for. I got the fish moqueca and it was melt in your mouth level good. 🤤 The pao de queijo weren't as nice though, they were burnt and you get very few (it is a starter after all). As far as the club: the bouncers are really sweet for having a rough job, and the downstairs with lights and music is great. For people who dance salsa/bachata, this is the place where I've seen the most dancers, it's welcoming and especially on Thursdays you get a good crowd. ***As a note, I'm new to the city so my review only extends for the past month or so I've been going here for dance. You never know who'll show up on any given night.

This is actually for the meatball cafe located inside the bar. It has a simple menu but it is definitely quality over quantity, yes there are only a few options but my what options they are. I've never been disappointed with anything I've had, their meat ball rolls are gorgeous and the fisheye roll (cod fish balls with salmon) has now become one of my favourite lunch time treats. All I can say is give this a try.

It gets a little too busy for my taste around midnight/one am, but that's a taste issue and clearly means other people are enjoying themselves. And the bar upstairs is a great place to go when the music gets loud.

This little bar is such a wonderful place to meet up with friends and acquire new ones! The atmosphere is vibrant, cosy and fun. Their cocktails are fantastic & incredibly tasty food is served until quite late. Booths and tables are available for booking. The only issue I found was that at a certain point in the night the music is cranked up which I personally thought was a little too loud.

I can't say much about their daytime range, as I've only every encountered this establishment in its role as a nightclub. Now, as a rule, I despise nightclubs, which means that I generally avoid them. But in this instance I was beguiled by some co-workers into trying it out, and found myself enjoying it immensely. The music was interesting and fresh, the air-conditioning functional, the drinks palatable. I can't speak for their pricing, unfortunately, as the price I demanded of my colleagues for my company was that I was bought drinks.

Great flavoured Brazilian food with authentic atmosphere. Live Latin band playing with some folks up and dancing between courses! We had a Groupon voucher which made it incredibly good value. I think even at full price it would still be competitively priced. I had the Brazilian steak, so much nice meat... and my wife had bean stew. Both were lovely. For pudding we had a strawberry mousse and a chocolate truffle. Both had several more elements to make them really delicious and rich. I would definitely come here again when I visit Edinburgh in the future.

It's surprisingly cheap being near the city centre (under 4 pounds for a pint of Guinness) but definitely a bit of bs with card payments being a fiver or over. Most businesses aren't doing that due to cash handling being a risk for covid so pretty silly. Bar that it's a fairly decent pub, but once indoor pubs open up you're better checking elsewhere.

A great little Brazilian bar offering very good value drinks. Brazilian beer on tap and by the bottle as well as a good range of popular cocktails. I had a mojito and a tequila asked a drink that I don't know the name off! They were excellent, much better quality than I expected for £3.50. They do offer food too although we didn't eat here so I can't comment on the quality. The staff were very friendly and the service was fast, I will be back.

If you are going out for a drink and want a great atmosphere i would defiantly recommend this bar. The drinks are well priced, staff are happy to chat, joke and recommend drinks. They also do great offers on cocktails. What more could you ask for, oh wait did i mention the great music and people salsa dancing every night of the week. Booked a surprise 30th birthday party here for a busy Saturday with fairly short notice for such a potentially large booking. They were incredibly accomodating and the buffet food went down a treat! We were allowed to decorate the down stairs area with bunting, balloons and pictures on the wall. They also had someone staff the bar just for us and had presentation facilities. They even went along with our plan to lure the birthday girl in without ever ruining the surprise! All with competitive pricing. The birthday girl was incredibly chuffed with the whole night. Fantastic introduction to Brazilian food. We recieved a very warm welcome, the menu had lots of choice, our waitress (I wish I could remember her name) was very attentive and helpful. The traditional stew was delicious with different food combinations. The Ciapirinha was very drinkable, we didn't like the red wine and it was changed immediately, no fuss, only apologies. All together a very lovely relaxed interesting experience.

The service was good and the staff were helpful, had a bit of trouble with there accent as the spoke Portuguese I take it, it is a Bazillion restaurant so can't expect anything different so great authenticathaasy. The food in the end wasn't to my liking as a local but was tasty. They had a good selection of beers, can't say how they tasted as didn't drink alcohol only draught lemonade. The parking is a nightmare and shockingly over priced £6 for one and a half hours. If your booking a meal via Groupon the make sure you book in advance as they will not accept walk in booking. This was my second attempt at lunch.

You don't expect to see the kind of Brazilian home-cooking this restaurant offers anywhere in Britain, but there are some real classics on the menu which makes a refreshing change from a rodizio. Atmosphere was great on Friday with their live music. The food looked and smelled amazing and the caiphiñas were straight out of Mina's Gerais. Loved it!

I am brazilian and i dont feel like in brazil when i am inside there (went a few times) even with its name meaning 'brazil's bar' (boteco do brazil). They play very few Brazilian musics (90% are spanish language musics), they dont serve brazilian drinks and cocktails (could see only a brazilian industrial beer called Brahma), there is not Brazilian decorations. And had a really bad experience with the bartender there last time, not pretending go back anymore. This i am talking about the lower floor (nightclub), in the upper floor (bar and restaurant) i've never been.

I was excited to visit a Brasilian bar after having been to Zico's. Ever since I started capoeira classes, I've been fascinated with learning more about Brasilian culture and the bar is no exception. It radiates positive energy through the staff, the music from live performances and from the DJ selection. We visited at night, but I noticed there were windows for kitchen staff serve food off their menu during the day. The range of cocktails and drinks on the menu sounded enticing, but having had some wine in the same night, I wasn't looking to drink more alcohol and was pleased to find they kept a stock of Guarana Antartica, my new favourite soft drink. It was a pleasant night of great music, company and I would recommend this bar to anyone looking for a great relaxing night.

Visited Botego do Brasil as we were feeling peckish and wanted to try something new, so we paid a visit to this Brazilian eatery (ex-Negociants) prior to hit the George Square, Edinburgh Fringe Festival opening. I was welcomed by friendly waitress Ingrida and guided to my table while I waited for my friends to join me. Before my mates arrival I made abundant use of Botego’s strong WiFi. Once on site we proceed to order six tapas (starter size), a portion of Arroz (rice) and one main to be delivered at once, which they did. I got the homemade Feijoada, a Brazilian typical stew with black beans, smoked bacon, pork ribs, salt beef and smoked sausages served with perfectly cooked rice and cassava flour. Taste-wise I shall say that it was almost equal as the one I ate in Rio de Janerio time ago. On the minus side was the small-ish portion’s size and the remarkable absence of smoked sausages, bacon & pork ribs (I counted only three small cubes of salt beef only)… may be they were resting at the bottom of the pot…Summarising it was a bowl of healthy but bland black beans stew… Frango a passarinho: the deep fried chicken thighs with Brazilian spices passed the test OK. Coxinhas de frango: Soft potato dough filled with chicken, delicious!!! Chouriço apimentado: Chouriço sausages, a bit oily but very tasty indeed. Carne de sol: Seasoned strips of beef served with cassava, the meat was tough and rather dry, may be yesterday’s overcooked left overs? Lula & camarão: calamari rings & fried king prawns, approved as per my mate’s MK palate. Legumes grelhados ao pão de alho: grilled vegetables with garlic bread slices, got the thumbs up too. All washed down with cold draft Brahma beer and sparkling mineral water. Boteco do Brasil is an affordable, trendy and quirky place to meet your friends, with efficient and friendly floor staff, albeit food-wise, there’s room for improvement.
