Reviews of Holy Cow
J. M.
I'm from Glasgow and when I knew i was coming through to Edinburgh I had to try this place. Extremely Highly recommend this place. I had the quarter pounder the coffee cake with tea. I'm 100% coming back, try one of the other fantastic burgers they have.
Waitress recommended a fantastic burger 🍔.
Friendly staff, lovely decor and amazing food in an amazing city. What more could you ask for 👍
G. B.
Visited Edinburgh 2 months ago. I'm gluten intolerant. I've searched for a place that serves glutenfree food. Holy Cow is that place. I had 2 glutenfree cakes. They were amazing. Waited for my bus back to London so had a long conversation with a lady. Friendly staff. Next time will visit again. Definitely recommend.
T. H.
While waiting for a bus I happened upon Holy Cow, and that really sums it up. Holy Cow the food was good! Do yourself a favour and order the Vietnamese tofu burger, and you won't be disappointed. Coffee tastes great too. Thank you all!
G.
Here I tasted the most delicious vegan burger ever!
I also enjoyed the vegan Tiramisù.
The Christmas decorations in the shop and friendly service creates a really welcoming atmosphere. Well done 👏 The holy cow must be a happy cow 🐮
G. B.
A great small restaurant, only a few tables but the food was brilliant! Definitely a recommendation to others and will return in the future.
A. P.
Delicious food, completely clean and vegan. Staff were a bit busy but understandably as it was very popular. Accessible bathroom to prevent p*ssing myself. 10/10 (especially the chips!)
J. P.
Food and atmosphere were great!
A little tricky to find - note it’s below street level and you should be able to see it.
A. B.
Best vegan cheesecake ever!! I got Biscoff one. Was incredible and for such a good price as well. It’s right next to the bus station so went in and grabbed a slice for the bus home
M. K.
Lovely, friendly staff and excellent vegan cakes and hot drinks. We have also had lunch here which was very tasty. Highly recommended.
R.
Yum! Really nice food. I had an open sandwich and the bread was super light and fresh, fillings generous and side salad prepared with care. Chips were homemade. My girlfriend had a very nice soup with perfect thickness. 5 stars!
K. C.
The cakes were tasty. And salad too. Would go there again.
T. D.
Cute little place hidden away on the basement level (next to opticians). The staff were nice and my smoothie was banging. I was a bit disappointed by the selection on offer, but it's a nice place for a drink or for lunch. It's dog friendly and they bring bowls of water over which is really cute! Also has a wide selections of cakes and things
J.
I had the best burger I've ever eaten at Holy Cow. They do some good sandwich and burger options and some excellent smoothies too- the chocolate peanut butter one was heavenly. Very cute setting, would recommend their secret garden at the back if you can. Dog friendly. Nice and efficient staff.
G. G.
Very good food and organic drinks. I had quarter pounder burger. Amazing as can be seen in the picture.
L. A. B.
Fabulous. Spotlessly clean. Staff were lovely, menu choices were creative and made choosing difficult. Food was absolutely superb, bursting with flavour, huge portions that were eaten with relish. The ambiance was lovely. It’s such a delight to eat out and not feel like you’re apologising. I wish I lived in Scotland, never mind Edinburgh, as I need to work my way through that menu. Have already recommended to loads of friends, vegan or not, this is food worth making a trip to enjoy. We will be back. Soon I hope.
H. I.
Top notch service and delicious food. I had the portobello mushroom burger and green smoothie. Given the sky high expectations going in (rave reviews by others) and the final bill however I rate this establishment a 4 star.
Update; Upgrading to 5 stars. For starters, we had the awesome soup of the day (pea & mint) to go with sourdough bread. For mains, I had the quarter pounder burger. Drink was peanut butter and chocolate smoothie. My partner had pad thai with energizer smoothie. Awesome service and all for only £36+.
T. B.
This is a must for all diners and lovers of vegetarian or vegan cuisine. The staff were charming and made us feel pampered. When we are next in Edinburgh, we will definitely make a bee-line for Holy Cow - the best restaurant we have had the pleasure of dining in for a long, long time. I've no hesitation in giving food, staff and ambience a 100% score. Simply outstanding!
K. N.
Just went for dinner had the Vietnamese tofu burger and it was very very delicious! The chips are perfectly done in my opinion too. I am a super fusy vegan usually, that is really good food. Nice service, fast too, and to top it off I got a generous piece of cake to takeaway that I'm enjoying now :)
N.
My favourite place to eat in Edinburgh. Me and my partner are both vegan and are very lucky we found this place. The food was delicious, nice and fresh. The menu is diverse and offers amazing choices. The vibe in the cafe was relaxing and welcoming (playing some really good music). The staff were very kind and helpful and the wait wasn’t long at all. Will be sad to leave this place when we go back to England.
S. K.
I'm very glad to come across this restaurant just near Princes Street. The Portobello mushroom burger was good. I specially liked the green smoothie with lemon grass. Recommended a visit!
D. P.
Visited this place for a quick bite to eat and was not disappointed! Had lots of options to choose from and 100% vegan!
I went for the 1/4 pounder burger which was amazing and came with homemade cooked chips!
I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for some nice vegan food.
S. S.
Pretty good vegan food, the Reuben sandwich was a winner, chips could have been cooked a bit longer to crisp them up, but it was pretty late when I went for dinner, so it's understandable they were in a rush. Service was extremely friendly, I would recommend this place on that alone. Worth a trip if you fancy something meat free and want to support a small restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh.
T. S.
It was a realy nice stay and food was also very good!!
The food to be honest is good most of the time in many restaurants in busy areas but the difference was the service, especially the waitress (Juliana i think was her name). She welcomed us very friendly and made sure we have everything the whole time!
The manager(in) made the perfect choice with her and will surly get many more satisfied costumers.
H. D.
Came here with my mum for coffee and lunch. Burger and chips were just under £14 each, which felt quite a lot for a cafe meal, but I would come back because food and service were really good. We didn't feel rushed and bathroom was nice and clean :)
N. T.
Had coffee and cake, nice atmosphere and welcoming. Cake was good and service was pleasantly good. Great vegan options naturally.
S. B.
Amazing food and the cake choices they had were the best! As a vegan I’m used to chocolate brownies being the only desert offered but they had such a good range of different cakes and cheesecakes.
They were very helpful and quick with getting my order ready. The blonde waitress was very sweet and helpful.
I had the soup of the day which was broccoli and the sourdough bread which was so tasty!
And a Victoria sponge cake which was the best vegan cake I’ve ever had. I also had the vegan cblt sandwich the Mayo that came with it was very nice and went really well with the sandwich! Will definitely be stopping by again

As someone who’s somewhat new to plant-based diet, I had to make sure to visit when visiting Edinburgh.
After reading praises online and one of the locals also mentioning how great this place is, we decided to pop in on our last day for lunch. Following recommendation, we’ve settled for Ruben sandwich and some drinks.
The food was absolutely out of this world. Very tasty, great size portion and genuinely - amazing value. We didn’t have to wait long at all for it to come through.
There is some indoor and outdoor seating in the patio where you’re surrounded by plants. Although we did find that some of the tables are quite close together and it can be difficult to squeeze by.
The only thing that knocked off a star for me was the lady that was on the till… initially when we came in, it almost came across like we were an inconvenience. There was no hello or thank you (general pleasantries I guess) but she did seem okay when we were leaving.
R. L.
Best vegan restaurant (possibly overall restaurant) I've ever been to. Shared the soup of the day which was the nicest soup I've tasted served with great homemade bread. I then had the jackfruit burger which was great, however my partner had the naori fish burger which was out of this world; tasted just like the real thing! Great service and all round perfect experience - can't recommend highly enough!
A. W.
Jackfruit burger was delightful, super cool to see a fully vegan place with such friendly and welcoming staff and everything so fresh. Chips are hand cut which is just an added bonus, and the burger buns 10/10
r. a.
Amazing vegan cafe and restaurant. Went for dinner and got a mushroom burger with seitan and my mom got a pulled jackfruit burger. These people know their vegan food 😍
f.
Perfect little cafe. Lovely food and service, music was great too :)
A. R.
The afternoon tea was amazing! If you’re vegan (or just like vegan food) and in Edinburgh, this is a must-try! For just £25 per person, the amount of food you get is immense and so delicious. Staff were lovely and the general cafe location in an art gallery is a beautiful setting to eat in. Thanks Holy Cow for such a fantastic lunch!
K. K. (.
Had a Quarter Pound burger and it was so good! I should have picked up a dessert, they all looked delectable! If you’re looking for vegan or vegetarian options, this is the place!
S.
I’m not even vegan but I loved it - delicious burgers and cake!
G. C.
Tasty all vegan food and drinks served by lovely staff, epic.
N. T. D.
Food is fine, but would have expected a little more considering the price. Staff is friendly, but the athmosphere was a little off. They have a lovely patio at the back for warmer summer days!
S. E.
Great variety of clean, organic, vegan food. Staff were very friendly and accommodating of our allergies specifically. Delicious, cozy little cafe.
V. D.
A cozy, intimate place with wonderful vegan dishes. Well prepared and presented, could use a bit more spice, flavor. Keep in mind, I lived in Sooth Louisiana and grew accustom to strong, rich flavors. The cakes rocked, especially the Summer Fruits Cake! Wonderful service. It’s worth the wait, maybe a dozen tables if that.
R. G.
This was one of the best meals we have had in Edinburgh. It is a cosy, lovely restaurant with super friendly staff and service. We sat outside in their lovely courtyard. The Snickers cheesecake was the best. We will definitely return.
T. G.
Couldn't fault the young lass working there, great service and very polite. Coped well when it got very busy all of a sudden and provided service with a smile. The sandwich we had wasn't very tasty, very very dense unpleasant bread and fairly under seasoned. Chips were great though, as was the coffee. Took some cake to go. My mate said the carrot cake was top notch, unfortunately the same can't be said for the biscoff one, my partner thought I was pranking her with a cake ment for dogs. Looked great, wasn't very edible.
K. B.
The staff is brilliant! That is a 5 stars alone.
The playlist, not so much. In terms of food, it's a hipster burger joint with fresh chips and (a bit salty) frozen burgers. The kombucha they sell is a bit too sweet (compared to others Scottish good ones). The taste is definitely better than processed soya for fake meat texture lovers.
I reccomend to give it a go!
C. B.
I ordered their quarter pounder burger together with their green smoothy, and it was surprisingly filling. I'm a big guy and I usually eat a lot more than their serving size in a meal. I went walking around the area after and I still felt full afterwards. The taste: the food was delicious! It wasn't dry like some burgers I've had before. It was the sauce that made the burger, I think. However, the patty was also tasty on its own, I found out, as I was on the last few bites of the burger because I've pretty much had the sauce drip from the sides of the burger as I was gleefully devouring the thing. The fries, or chips, since we're in GB, were a bit soggy but they were still alright because they're made from fresh potatoes, I think...it wasn't like the frozen potato kind-of-sogginess. Overall, I enjoyed my meal there!
C. K.
Absolutely delicious reuben sandwich and banana toffee cake. There were a lot of cakes to chose from. Very friendly staff! Will definitely visit again.
A. G.
I had actually walked past this place several times before having to Google where it was! But I’m super glad I found it as the place is super nice and the staff very friendly and welcoming.
I only tried the cake ( snickers and banoffee cake ) which were both delicious, not overly sweet or heavy and you could actually taste the different ingredients/layers. Only after greedily feasting on two very generous slices was I ready for a nap!
Will return for a sit down meal some in the future but it’s definitely a place worth supporting and if nothing else just popping in for a nice hot tea.
Great stuff!
S. H.
Really lovely place, gorgeous staff. Warm welcome as we walked in , relaxed not at all pretentious. The food was good and My Mum , none Vegan, loved her dish so much . I really enjoyed mine but felt it lacked punch . That said I went for a safe option , so not being negative . The vegan cheese sauce was spot on and the relish divine. The burger lacked seasoning and bite but was nice . I'm being critical here though , would totally recommend and would totally go again X
S. B.
Wonderful vegan cafe right in the centre of Edinburgh. They have some of the best smoothies I’ve ever had and the blue matcha was a real find. Lovely staff and ambience.
C. F.
Brilliant vegan restaurant! I had the reuben and it is phenomenal. Service was lovely and the location is quaint and quirky. Loved everything about it.
A. P.
I always enjoy going to Holy Cow because the food in general is amazing and it feels very cosy inside. It's just a shame that, last time I went, the waitress wasn't very pleasant (which never happened before though). Still, I totally recommend going there either to have breakfast or lunch/dinner. You won't regret it!
C. S.
The food was good and the staff were very friendly. :)
L. B.
What can I say - simply amazing food. This restaurant serving vegan food and drinks is a great place to guy and eat and drink healthily. I had the Jackfruit burger with home cut chips, the burger was amazing and I had a green smoothie with my food, I came out stuffed. Will be going back tomorrow! Loved it xx
M. A. B.
Lovely burguers and delicious tiramisú and coffee!
C. T.
Friendly staff, very cute little vegan cafe. Had the portobello burger and it was tasty, the fries were absolutely delicious!
M. D.
We enjoyed an extremely enjoyable and satisfying meal here. There was a good choice of vegan dishes, drinks and desserts.
Prices were moderate and quality of the food high. Staff were friendly and attentive.
I'd definitely recommend Holy Cow and will return in the future.
J. E.
This was the most amazing cafe/ restaurant I have ever stumbled across! My sister and I tried here last night and got some vegan burgers (love that the menu has so many options for me, being all vegan!! And I wanted to try them all because they sounded delicious). We also had a cheesecake, and will soon be going back to try all the other cakes because they looked so good, and we spent a little while after the meal just chatting to the friendliest person ever who was working there, and it absolutely made our days (and I will probably look back on the moment forever - it was a wonderful introduction to Scotland for us first-timers)
A. C.
Very good vegan cafe with wide variety of burgers, sandwiches and coffees
M. M.
Came here for lunch at the weekend and we both absolutely lovely it!
Had a burger (all made in house, including the freshly baked bun!) and a shake each, both coming with homemade chips that were lovely. We were so full that we were disappointed that we didn't have space for a cake as the selection looked incredible!..... So we came back the following day and literally just had cake! Fantastic place with a great ethos! Will be back!
This place is cash only so make sure you visit a cashpoint in preparation. Thankfully it's very reasonably priced though!
C. W.
Not the best vegan burger I've ever had, but still tasty. It suffered from the common issue of falling apart too easily. Apologies for the picture of it half eaten, I was hungry! I found the chips to be a bit dull and uninspired. Service was decent and it's in a great location though.
K. º.
This was my second visit to Holy Cow, last time we only managed cake but this time I tackled a burger. It was HUGE, too big to finish. The quarter pounder Mu Burger had a bit of a kick/aftertaste to it. Very generous portions. Well worth a visit.
E.
Delicious vegan burgers! We would definitely recommend this place for both veg and non-veg eaters!
P.
I have been eating in this place many times in the past couple of years and I must admit that the burgers are very tasty, especially the pulled jackfruit one that is my absolute favourite. I am not giving this place 5 stars just because I don't like the fries, as they are always burnt and greasy.
S. C.
Such a cute little cafe with a range of brilliant options. Soup of the day was courgette, carrot and coconut and it was one of the nicest soups I've ever had! I also had the Mexican burger which was brilliant and very filling and served with homemade chips. I would definitely visit again and definitely recommend.
C. H.
Great and healthy cafe that's hidden away in the main city of Edinburgh. The restaurant is relatively small and can at times have a small wait until a table is available. Staff are great and really recommend it. Food is fantastic 👌
s. s.
Lovely staff. Lovely food. Informal & friendly. No meat or dairy served.... Bliss!
M. I.
Small restaurant locates in city centre next to bus station and John Lewis 100 procent Vegan, one of the unique places where you can enjoy vegan food, small range of food however all is vegan, toilet avalible, not too busy, looks like two staff members are working here, tase and quality is good, nice and welcoming atmosphere. If you vegan this place will suits you. Recomended
R. S.
Such a cute hidden cafe, I had the Ruben sandwich for lunch which was so tasty and the salad was great too!
v. y.
Ordered Vietnamese burger, oat latte and the mango cheesecake.
Coffee and Burger were mediocre, cheesecake was delicious. The service was good, however, went around probably a busy time, waited for over 1 hour for a table.
J. R.
Fresh homemade vegan food. All tasty! Amazing staff, very helpfull! 👍
M. N.
Flavorful healthy food, good atmosphere and personable staff makes this a must while you're in Edinburgh.
G. l.
Super great! I had the portobello mushroom burger and it was fantastic. Though now I want to come back and try the rest of the menu because it sounds delicious. Never had vegan cheese before but I really enjoyed it. This place definitely gives me hope for vegans and the future of food industry without the harm to animals.
N. T.
Awesome food, service and cafe. Sweet little garden seating out the back. Best CBLT I've ever had and the leek and potato soup also the best. Caters for gluten free vegans. Helpful staff and delicious cakes. Highly recommend.
A. W.
Got the Rueben, BLT and carrot lox. Rueben was incredible, BLT close second. All vegan. Lovely staff as well.
M. G.
If you like vegan cakes, it is the best place to get them from. A huge variety of high-quality cakes every week. They have even tiramisu or banofee pie. The best ones I had. Total 5 stars
M. L.
Very tasty food and wonderful staff, would definitely recommend! Quite affordable as well and lovely atmosphere.
D. K.
4.5 ⭐
Food was delicious in this restaurant.
The quarter pounder bean burger was fantastic.
The jackfruit burger was also very good.
Very clean and social distancing seen inside.
Only recommendation would be some kind of soundtrack playing in the background.
K.
We had a burger and an open sandwich both were lovely with lots of flavour! I also had a pumpkin spice latte which was amazing! Really nice cafe with a relaxed atmosphere and great staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone in Edinburgh vegan or not!
M. S.
A bit off the beaten path, but definitely worth looking for it.
I went with my boyfriend for dinner and we ha the loveliest time. He fell in love with their vegan burger, and I enjoyed every bit of my mushroom one as well. I also indulged in a smoothie and a cake which were both worth every penny.
S. C.
I cannot recommend this place enough. Delicious vegan mains -- ranging from delicious vegetable burgers and homemade chips to Pad Thai -- and a mouth-watering array of cakes. Very easy going ambiance, attentive and friendly staff and reasonable prices. Love this place.
A. S.
Cozy basement vegan restaurant in which to escape the rainy Edinburgh weather and work on my sketches. I had the the vegan Reuben sandwich and chips.
H. M.
Excellent lunch spot in the centre of Edinburgh. A little on the pricy side by that is to be expected in this location. Great drink selection but food is limited to open sandwiches and burgers, all vegan. My hummus sandwich was excellent but the cake I chose was a little on the dry side (peanut butter chocolate).
W. (.
For vegetarian lovers this is your place. Place is very nice and warm, staff friendly. Highly recommended.
M. F.
Really delicious food in a snug little cafe.
K. N.
If you want variety delicious vegan foods come and visit. I did takeout a burger and a smoothie, the taste was good. The stuff lady was not rude but also not so warm and nice.
S. H.
Had the rueben sandwich and it was out of this world. Also a really cute space and friendly staff…highly recommend.
J. Z.
Cosy place with an all vegan menu and ample natural light (despite being lower ground). Cake selection is amazing with plenty of gluten free options too! Also heard the food is great, will (gladly) have to go back to verify! Staff are also super nice. A real pleasure to visit :)
H. S. D.
Such delicious food. Try the carrot Lox sandwich, I get it each time I’ve been here. Don’t miss this if you are in Edinburgh and looking for some stunning food!
K. B.
We decided to visit due to the reviews and the hype.
I will say the food is very tasty, but in my case where I ordered the mushroom burger, the mushroom was a skinny little slice and the best part was the bun they served it it.
The smoothies and the deserts were nice, but the end bill came to £35ish and I was still left feeling hungry and nope I’m not fat or overweight.
I would visit it the prices were better and the food more substantial, but other than that, I wouldn’t want to pay £13.00 for a burger I can make at home for a fraction of the price.
Sadly for me, I wont be returning but you do have to judge for yourself.
O. S.
Fantastic little place. Great selection of food and drinks. Only thing I will say that was a bit of a disappointment was that the bun was super dry and dense. But all in all a good meal, the vietnamese tofu was perfect and the kimchi was delicious and spicy
m. j.
Just had the best mushroom soup I've ever had. Nicely spiced and very well made. Great service, great atmosphere and very homey restaurant.
Highly recommend
L. D.
Absolutely incredible food! Super cosy interior and the waitress was so lovely. A definite must.
l. n.
Nearly gave up on finding this place as it's in the basement and the sign says 'halo coffee company'. Really glad I persevered as the food was amazing! I had the Vietnamese tofu burger - can't go wrong with schriracha mayo! And came with the best chips I have had in a while. Plenty of great desserts on offer as well. Make sure you check it out, whether you are a vegan or not.
T. C.
Delicious and healthy vegan. Reasonable prices in a cafe style setting. Lovely place.
G. J.
I found this place to be very nice and cosy, the staff is super friendly and the only reason why I’m not giving this place 5 stars is because I already ate fantastic vegan burgers and these lacked some seasoning and taste for me. However, fries was excelent and so did the ginger tee and tumeric latte.
G. G.
Visited here last month. The burger I had was pretty tasty, and the waitress was very friendly. Sadly, the cakes let this place down. The salted caramel popcorn cake I had was dry, and the texture of the icing was unpleasant. My friend was also not keen on the texture of the blueberry cheesecake. Neither of us were happy that we paid quite a bit for a not-so-great dessert. Such a shame, because I've tried plenty of amazing vegan cakes over the years.
K. G.
Very tasty food, cozy restaurant, good customer service, just everything you need! My non-vegan boyfriend enjoyed food too.
E. G.
Excellent vegan cafe with homemade cakes. Give it ago whatever your dietary preference
I. B.
Possibly one of the best places I’ve been in for vegan food! I had the quarter pounder burger and it was great. I’m definitely going back :)
N. G.
Nice place. Good food. I liked the sandwich, but I adored the cake, it was like out of this world, amazing!
V. R.
Amazing vegan place right next to the bus station!
Lovely staff and they had amazing hamburgers and the best chocolate and peanut butter cake ever 🤤
J. B.
Tucked away from the busy street, this adorable vegan haven took my husband and I in from the cold drizzle where we enjoyed a warming, cozy meal that had us drifting into another dimension of consciousness it was so good. As someone with a food allergy, it feels so nice to be able to confidently eat everything on my plate without having to ask! HOLY COW IT WAS DELICIOUS
Also the gal who was working there was an MVP taking care of everyone by herself while additionally finagling with a broken card reader✌️
A. S.
Lovely café! We sat on the patio in the sun, enjoyed a vegan burger, sandwich, latte and smoothie, and the cakes are just amazing!!! Try the Red Velvet cake!
L. R.
It is such a lovely little café! Super cozy with wonderful decoration. The waitress was extremely nice. The food was amazing! I had a burger with chips and a piece of cake and I couldn't decide which of both was more delicious.
I will definitely come back!
S. X.
Absolutely delicious and filling vegan food, cozy environment and friendly staff, would definitely reccomend
S. M.
Holy Cow never disappoints me. I have removed a star only because I was not a huge fan of the reduced sugar vegan cheesecake which had a rather porridge like texture to me. But the staff are great and I had a lovely vegan BLT and a delicious green smoothie.
S. P.
Amazing, every-time I go I am thrilled!
E. O.
Lovely little place where we felt welcome. The food is very tasty, everything is made from scratch. They also offer a large variety of yummy vegan cakes. I would strongly recommend this place.
B. B.
Best gluten-free/vegan dessert in Edinburgh!!!
The place is amazing and I love the food. The CBLT was awesome.
S. I.
Very tasty food and friendly staff as well! It would be nice if they had some non gluten free cakes but I am not too fussed. Thoroughly enjoyed both of the times that I have had a meal there and I do plan to revisit :)
P. C.
We had the quarter pounder and the Portobello mushroom burger. Food was amazing, seriously the quarter pounder is one of the best vegan burgers we've ever eaten. We came back for cakes and a smoothie. The banoffee was light and fresh and the "green" smoothie tasted fantastic.
Super friendly staff and a lovely cozy environment.
Highest of recommendations!
C. R.
Great selection of food even had kombucha. Vegan power 💚
R. H.
Incredibly friendly service and great range of delicious vegan food (burgers, salads and sandwiches). Really lovely casual cosy atmosphere too - and dog friendly!
C. S.
Fabulous vegan, veggie & gluten free foods on the menu. Delicious desserts, and a range of hot (with huge choices of milks) & cold drinks - AND a beautiful, sunny patio with tables if you want to be outside!
M. F. B.
Amazing Tofu burger! Nice flavour and a lot of food in the plate.
M. R.
Great vegan food. Delicately spiced burger. While some chips and great coffee.service was great.
k.
Very lovely place! A bit hidden actually, staff was nice, we enjoyed our meals (especially good gluten free bread)
N. A.
Highly recommended if you are vegan. Great soups and cakes!!!
G. S.
Was searching for a nice vegan cafe to get some dessert before heading back to London, and this place was really good. The ladies were super friendly and the dessert almost felt guilt free. The passionfruit cheesecake was super smooth and creamy, and the oreo cheesecake brownie had a great fudgey texture without using chickpeas like so many other places do. I just wish they were a bit sweeter, otherwise they were really good!
I.
Had a really fresh and tasty burger here. The staff was nice and motivated 👍🏼
D. K.
Hidden gem in downtown Edinburgh. Very tasty and original dishes. Had the Carrot LOX. Not to miss!
J. S. P.
Such a nice place with delicious food! Totally recommended (:
R. O.
Amazing vegan food, loved the portobello mushroom burger :)
N.
Great place to grab lunch. They have burgers, sandwiches and salads. I had the jackfruit burger with fries which were great!
B. H.
Lovely vegan cafe and restaurant. I had a great dish of raw vegan pad Thai salad. Nice outdoor dining Patio. Super friendly! Support your local vegan businesses!
K. K.
Best vegan spot in Edinburgh
Great tasty food and coffee, highly recommend
R. H.
Best vegan cakes in Edinburgh in my opinion. Proper sponge cakes! Lovely coffee. Amazing chips. Particularly love the Mexican salad - they're always happy to provide two plates so we can share and leave more room for cake!
H. K.
Nice little vegan lunch spot. Great coffee and amazing selection of cakes, staff are really friendly too. A surprisingly varied menu for such a small place. I had the jackfruit burger, which tasted pretty good, but fell apart so easily that I had to resort to a knife and fork after two bites. I'll be coming back, but definitely trying something else on the menu :)
S.
Amazing food, amazing drinks and lovely staff! When I went I tasted a jackfruit burger and an Oreo cheeseless cheesecake which was very tasty. Very balanced recipes.
N. N.
The food is so good and the coffee here is amazing!
M. B.
A great place if you're a fan of vegan burgers. The homemade chips were a highlight as was the local Kombucha. A good choice if you're looking for a cafe stop on your shopping trip.
B. M.
I had tomato and lentil soup which was good. but my friends didn't like their sandwich and salad, as was too plain and blend. I have to agree.
the cakes are delicious, especially Banana peanut butter one. however, mango and coconut one not so much as the base is too dry and mango is jelly.
all in all ok experience, even though none of us was vegan, we enjoyed cakes. want to try red velvet next time. also, pieces could be bigger for that price.
also, I had their "special tea" which wasn't very special. lots of lemon pieces in hot water and some pieces of ginger. I expected more as it was pricier than the rest of the tea selections. however, agave syrup saved it a bit, but all in all, tasted too lemony for me and they could maybe add few more ingredients to make it more interesting and perhaps grind ginger
X. Y.
Amazing little vegan restaurant, many gluten-free options and the loveliest staff.
d.
a hidden gem near the bus station . Place are cozy and comfy . Food are delicious and price also acceptable . Best place for relaxing a while after shopping
K. S.
Really nice atmosphere and amazing food! Would definitely recommend :)
J. B.
Excellent. I had the ruben. Ace
A. G.
We were pleased to eat in this nice restaurant today, the quality of the food and the creativity Is really high, Anatoly was wery friendly, really nice Place where to go. Compliment to the hard job of the Chef, Is not Easy create the right combo of tastes.
Definetly suggest, the Just shame Is that we are Just tourists.
N. C.
Lovely little vegan cafe with fantastic food and glorious cakes! Very friendly staff, worth the short walk out of the centre.
N. T.
My friend and I went there during this weekend for a coffee/ cake time- The food is good and the environment looks clean and nice, but the service was such a shame. We were negatively surprised with the gruff service received. We were served by two ladies - both quite aloof (the cashier more than the waitress) and honestly made us feel very unwelcome. Not sure if it was the day that we were there or if it's how they role, but we left very upset and disappointed. I liked the food, but don't think I'd come back or recommend to a friend.
J. K.
Highly recommend! The restaurant is two steps away from the bus station and the place is very friendly, clean, and welcoming. The food (a jackfruit burger and courgette pesto) is delicious, filling, and healthy! The stuff is also very nice, I'm sure I'll be back here whenever I'm in Edinburgh.
J. F.
Great selection of vegan burgers, sandwiches and cakes. Good for a quick bite. A bit pricey but definitely worth every penny.
M. “. H.
Visited with a fellow veggie friend and we both agreed that the atmosphere was like sitting in your friend's kitchen - friendly and warm.
Food was really well priced for vegan food and it was super tasty. Can highly recommend their take on a BLT! The coffee was also great and we appreciated the choice of non-dairy milks.
I'll definitely need to come back and try some cake too!
s.
Cute place with great atmosphere, food tastes fine, but it’s not a big meal for that price especially. Would still recommend this place and go there again.

The food and staff here are amazing. The apple caramel cake was delicious. I never knew they had an outdoor area at the back either. It was a good central place to meet up. My favourite.
A. P.
Super chill and nice place with delicious selection of vegetarian food! The cakes are amazing!
K. L.
The food here is delicious! Highly recommend!
D. D.
Love the food here, good quality ingredients and wonderful cakes. Dog friendly which is fab! The inside could do with a bit of a refurb. Update: was sold an extremely dry cake clearly baked at least 2 days ago on the 31.10.20, absolutely disgusting.
A. C. S. L. H.
It is not necessary to be vegan to enjoy vegan food. I tried one of their burgers and it was super good, it was fresh and juicy, really delicious. Also, their natural juices are fantastic. I had a really good time in this restaurant, costumer service was on point, very nice people. I really recommend it.
M. S.
Well-hidden, great vegan restaurant.
K. I.
Great selection of vegan dishes and a lot of homemade stuff. Really tasty food. Portobello mushrooms burger needs a bit of work, otherwise awesome food.
W. R.
From a non vegan, really good burger
Y. H. K.
Very friendly staff, relaxed friendly atmosphere, delicious vegan cake. Highly recommended.
g. k.
This place is amazing. The staff is really friendly and kind!!! We tried the burgers and we are absolutely satisfied. The red velvet cake is very delicious. Thanks for the good experience.
T. F.
Friendly service, excellent vegan options and good value for money. Would go again!
K. B.
That was the best burger I've ever had in my life :)
Fresh roll, fresh veggies and amazing marinated tofu! My smoothie was also really tasty!
G. P.
Literally the best vegan Ruben sandwich I've ever had hands down. Great prices and great service, always feel welcome and would happily spend my money here daily if I lived in Edinburgh
K. A. J.
I waited a really long time for the waitress to take my order 30-40 min.
Food is really good, the cakes are delicious ! ❤️
I'm sad there is no avocado toast And is there is a small menu.
J. Q.
Really great vegan burger, much needed at the time + cakes and generously sized smoothies. Friendly.
A. O.
Quite over priced for what it is. Burgers double the price of the sandwiches which didn't make sense and more expensive than any other vegan burger we got in Edinburgh but not as good.
J. G.
Really nice and cozy restaurant :-) I enjoyed a tasty burger with amazing fries. Prices are definitely reasonable for the quality.
Staff is really really nice and helpful. The menu is rather small but I still had problems to decide since everything sounds great :-)
The place is quite small with only a few tables. We had luck to directly get a table.
Would definitely recommend to go there even for a none vegan person.
A. H.
Excellent cakes and a great looking menu. We dived in for a cup of tea and a piece of cake which, upon reflection, would have been a better idea if we were hungrier. The portions are extremely generous and we stuffed ourselves with vegan summer fruits chocolate cake and a chocolate and peanut butter loaf served with a huge mug of hot chocolate and an enormous pot of tea. This is a delightful little place and we were disappointed not to find time for lunch one day.
A. P. P.
My boyfriend said, "I gave up eating meat just so I could eat here!" which doesn't actually make sense 😂 But the sentiment is there - the food's great! Affordable too. We've tried 4 of their burgers so far (we especially like the jackfruit one and the quarter pounder). The desserts are amaaazing and we just fell in love with their spiced pumpkin latte today.
G. R. R.
Excellent and very tasty food and super friendly staff.
G. W.
Great food, great service. Cakes are delicious. Highly recommended.
S. T.
Homemade pickles, healthy and indulgent smoothies, great selection of interesting, unique sandwiches and burgers. Great little place!
K. H.
Delicious avocado toast on buckwheat bread! Appropriate serving size for the price :)
A. H.
Had a lovely meal here tonight. The portebello burger was delicious as we're the chips. The caramel cake was sublime. The service was friendly and efficient. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending this restaurant. Real soul food. Thank you.
K. S.
First time visit on 16-Nov-19 and will definitely be back! Lovely, relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff who gave you the time to choose your good from the menu and enjoy it! The food was amazing too. The cake portion sizes - wow! I had to bring some home!
J. T.
We were really impressed with the menu choices and quality of the meals, great service too - would highly recommend this restaurant for vegans but also for those who just enjoy really good food
L. L.
Decent burger and well priced. First meal in Edinburgh.
K. W.
Had the portobello mushroom burger which was delicious. I do think that the Vegan CBLT was a bit of a let down and think that melting the cheese would be much nicer. Staff were lovely though and the cakes look amazing.
C. M.
Good, quality vegan food in a cosy and unpretentious setting! The burgers are amazing, big and loaded down with toppings (unlike other places that serve a single iceberg lettuce leaf and a drop of sauce). Oat milk lattes are a dream for someone participating in Veganuary. Honest, I visited this place twice within one week. It's that good!
L. C.
A fantastic cafe with great food. The staff are friendly and welcoming. As I have only quite recently discovered I have multiple food intolerances I am finding it really hard to eat out with family and friends. Not so at the Holy Cow. The staff were so helpful and knowledgeable as I bombarded them with questions. My husband, who does not have any food issues was also delighted with his food too. I'll get him off dairy yet... Thank you so much, you really helped make our anniversary break a happier one.
E. W.
Best vegan food ever. Had the most delicious zucchini/ bean burger with vegan dill mayo. Staff are super nice, place is clean and cozy. Didn't try the desserts but they looked mouth watering. Will 100% visit again next time I'm in Edinburgh
J. P.
Tasty vegan food. Good service. Not much atmosphere though. Bit clinical. Split yellow pea soup was a bit thin and under-seasoned. But open sandwich and smoothie were excellent. Tad pricey too. But Defo a 4*
N. H.
Amazing place, loved the food and the cozy atmosphere.
One of the best vegan places out there!
D. M.
delicious vegan burgers and cakes- we could eat them everyday!
R. G.
What an incredible restaurant! We moved to Edinburgh in March and since then we’ve been coming here almost every week. The soups are incredible most of the times. They have multiple delicious burgers (our favourite is the quarter pounder or pulled jackfruit) and another favourite is the carrot lox. Fresh, mostly backed in house. We have brought in several non vegans friends and family who absolutely loved it. And the cakes are as incredible as the rest! Highly recommended!
G. J.
Great place all vegan, vegetarian and generally eco- concious folks out there. They got a good range to pick from, food is delicious and the staff/service superb. They also have great deserts there - all vegan. It also has a nice location, just outside the Edinburgh Bus station and 10 min walk from Edinburgh Waverly train station.
I would recommend the quarter pounder from the burger range and their turmeric latte. I haven't tried the entire menu but out of what I got to sample, these were the best.
r. g. s.
Awesome vegan place. Totally recommended.
J. J. C.
Such gorgeous food and lovely staff!
T. R.
Such a cute wee place! However I did think their menu was a bit limited, and somewhat expensive. I had the tofu burger and thought it was an amazing meal, so good! The chips are literally the best I've ever had! My partner sadly didn't like her meal as much. She ordered the CBLT, it came with a lot of bread and salad and very little bacon and cheese.
After the meal I really wanted to have some of that amazing looking cake but £4.50 was too much money for us to spend on cake. Maybe I'll save up some.
D. S.
A hidden gem - I had a Mexican burger & my girlfriend went for the "fish" burger, all 100% vegan of course. Both were delicious and came with a generous helping of excellent chips. Staff were friendly, service prompt & the price was reasonable. We'll definitely come back when we're next in town (or maybe before we leave in a couple of days!). Highly recommended.
V. K.
5 star review for a vegan gluten free chocolate cake they made for a birthday and it was heavenly and lasted for days! Highly recommend and thank you to the chef for making this cake!
K. R.
I thought vegan baked goods were tasteless. This place proved me wrong. The only thing I didn't like but I don't know how could they help it, is that because it's super tiny, they have a table next to the entrance, and people enter to see if there's place every 10 minutes. In this city, it means freezing air entering the place, and it's horrible. We ended up leaving immediately after we finished our food because it was too much. But the food is amazing, the service is quick and the staff are friendly. I'd go back but stay only if there's another table free 😅
H. M.
This place does everything very well. Ask for recommendations. Don't underestimate their salads! Winterroot salad was amazing. Zucchini burger was good. Chocolate Peanut Butter cake was really great (ask for nondairy milk and chocolate drizzled on top, it needs the moisture). Bomb!
R. B.
Best vegan place I've been to in Edinburgh! The tofu burger was so good, a really filling yet light dinner, and the hot chocolate was delicious! Loved the atmosphere, definitely a place to check out
L. L.
We loved this place, loads to choose from, would come back!
C. C.
After recent disappointment at another - previously liked vegetarian eatery we decided on trying this place after reading the raving reviews, and also finding vegan eateries more accommodating for vegetarians than anything else.
Have come away totally impressed with what we received. I am diabetic type 2, and recently discovered how much carbs I was still eating in legumes, so decided to try a special request: tofu burger without bun or fries, but walnuts and avocado instead - no problem here! It's was PERFECT! Exactly as I wanted and perfectly right - so we're going back for more tomorrow night. And by the way - partner was very happy with his Portobello mushroom burger and ginger beer...
A. I. (. C. d. N.
I am not vegan myself but went in because it looked very nice and cozy. I have to say that I thought I was going to end up hungry because the burgers have no meat. To my surprise the burger was amazing, so was the soup, and I was extremely full and content after my meal. Will definitely visit again!
J. W.
Food was so great! Looked, tasted and smelt so divine! Try the cakes too ...... so so so good ooft!!!
The only thing that I wasnt utterly a fan of was that , no music was playing , no ambiance .... which makes me quite on edge , even just some simple sounds so that the space didn't feel empty even tho it was full.
I can not fault the food or the service one it 10/10
A. L.
i absolutely adored holy cow.
location wise it was easy found, you just have to go down the little steps in to the cafe.
the ambience of the cafe was quaint and quiet and really homey. it was cosy and made you feel instantly welcomed.
the staff service here was absolutely amazing, the lady that served has the kindest eyes and the sweetest smiles and she was absolutely lovely to place orders with.
now the important part, food. we had the Vegan CBLT and Carrot Lox and both tasted amazing. It was simple, minimal but downright delicious. It was appropriately priced and wonderfully mouthwatering. Me and my sister were both a little sick and we requested lots of pots of hot water and lemon and it made the recovery much warmer and better. Also, i’m a little bit of a ceramics fanatic and i loved the cute little farm animal cups and teapots.
the BEST thing is that everything is 100% vegan!!! recommend recommend recommend if you do pop by edinburgh 🌱🌱💞💞💞
M. H.
The best vegan food I have ever tasted! Super yummy, fresh and good quantity. I went with my non vegan brother and he loved the sandwich he got! Very friendly staff too. Perfect experience, we will be back soon :) Thank you Holy Cow!
M. Z.
One of my favourite spots in Edinburgh for brunch or lunch or cake and coffee.
A. O.
Vegan place with great quality food. We had the soup of the day (lentils and chunky vegs), a jackfruit burger and the Bibimbap salad. All these dishes were amazing, very tasty and with fresh food. The cakes looked amazing but we were full by then.
L. L.
Pros: Great chips
Completely vegan
Burgers have gluten free options
Good coffee
Cola/Kola is healthy and organic
Delicious ketchup/catsup
Clean toilet
Has an option for everyone
Organic
Free Wi-Fi
Cons: there are none
I greatly recommend Holy Cow to Vegans, Vegetarians and people who want to eat cruelty-free or healthily
R. K.
Amazing burgers. Amazing service. Food comes fast. Everything is fresh. I love it. Portion sizes are great for pigging out. If the portion was bigger or smaller it would ruin it. New favourite restaurant! Keep up the fabulous work if you can read this Holy Cow!
K. L.
Delicious food, friendly service, average price.
I had the soup (beetroot). It came with this absolutely gorgeous warm buckwheat bread. My boyfriend had the CBLT which I obviously was able to sample and which surprised me by using tempeh instead of seitan. Both thoroughly enjoyable and slightly different. We also tried one of the cakes which was maybe a little dry but compensated for with loads of cashew cream.
M. B.
My fiancee and I loved this place, particularly for their desserts. We came here three times during our stay (it was near our hotel) and each time was delicious. Note: they take American Express (a plus for me).
M.
THE BEST burger I've ever had! Tofu burger with mango chutney and homemade mayo...and the pea and spinach soup, with toasted seed bread and vegan butter?! oh my oh my, I wish I could come back to try it all!!! All the menu looks absolutely fabulous! Thank you Holy Cow, thank you Edinburgh :))
J. S.
Not very clear signposting to find it - it’s downstairs behind of John Lewis.
The menu is fine - a little small. I’d like to go back when Beyond Meat makes a bigger appearance over here - I found the CLBT to be kind of dry overall - not a huge drinks selection either.
The staff were nice though and the food was well prepared.
E. H.
Love this cozy little vegan cafe. The burgers are great and you can tell that they use fresh, quality ingredients. The carrot cake is out of this world. I was initially a little bemused to see goji berries used as a topping on the cake but it actually worked!
A. K.
Burgers are amazing. Skin-on chips are made fresh from potatoes. My fiancée ordered bibimbap and it was also really nice. And then there are cakes. I had peanut butter chocolate cake while my fiancée had coffee “cheesecake”. They were so good that I had to ask if they were vegan. An absolute favourite of mine.
R. T.
Food fantastic. A really friendly and welcoming cafe. 100% vegan.
Definitely the best in Edinburgh!
T. T.
Great food, excellent service and very good value for money.
S. F.
Great food, great choice and great service. Small, so expect to wait at busy times but absolutely worth it. The milkshakes are great and so is the burger. Rolls for the burger are freshly baked each day!
G. D.
AMAZING VEGAN CAFFE!! Lovely and super tasty food, fabulous burgers and cakes: the best choice for a vegan!!!
Thanks to Paulina, she is incredible: great energy and super kind and polite nature :)
For me it's a 10!!! Hardly recommended
a.
Little but very nice vegan place. I had a lovely jack fruit burger with delicious homemade chips mmmmm😁 I didn't manage to fit the pudding but I was impressed just by the look of the cakes... will definitely be back there to try them!!
e. K.
Wonderful little cafe! Friendly and quick service! Delicious food. Everything on the menu looks delicious! Casual atmosphere. Light bright space, good music
J. F.
Wow, just had a delicious lunch at Holy Cow! Really interesting and tasty burgers - forget about generic soy patties with a sad salad, this was something else! Thoroughly recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
T. T.
Wow! What a place!
Everything was delicious and well prepared, the bred is freshly made in the place.
Best chai latte I had!!!
Really homey and welcoming. Good vibes and energy:)
Really recommend!
E. C.
Very sweet vegan cafe tucked away behind the bus stop. Had a very chill atmosphere and a great menu selection (burgers, avo toast, smoothies, etc.). Popped in for coffee and cake which were both delicious!
L. C.
I’m visiting Edinburgh and I did my research before travelling to make sure I had the right places to eat in in the city, being a vegan. I loved the atmosphere, the warmth of everyone serving hungry customers and the food... OMG! Instant food baby! I had the portobello burger and ships. Delish! For desert I ordered red velvet which wasn’t that good, tbh. It tasted like regular cake with lots of cream. I’m giving it 5* as I think the red velvet can be improved but this didn’t affect my overall experience. Thank you everyone at Holy Cow. I’ll be back tonight!
F. M.
A nice cozy cafe with a decent range of food but I personally found it a little worthy as not only was everything vegan but most things were gluten free as well. Also it was quite pricey but a sweet place and perfect if you want vegan food!
F. P.
Delicious coffee in a very cute environment and friendly service. We loved it and would definitely return!
C. H.
Really good vegan burgers. Currently cash only so make sure you have some with you. Huge selection of delicious looking vegan cakes. Freshly cut and cooked chips with the burgers too!
J. B.
So pleased we found this place. The food is 10/10. Such fresh and innovative food for vegans. The staff were friendly and food came out really quick. Atmosphere was chilled and nice music. Hopefully back soon. ☺
B. R.
Superb food and very friendly staff. The burgers and sandwiches are freakin' amazing and the cakes are marvelous as well. Definitely try out the pulled jackfruit burger and the double choc cake! 100% recommended.
L. C.
Lovely cosy cafe in a handy location next to the bus station. We stopped off here for a quick pick me up on a day out in Edinburgh. 100% vegan, nice selection of food (plenty of gluten free options and gluten free bread) and a good choice of 'milks' available. We shared a baked sweet potato, which I highly recommend. Came with GF buckwheat bread, it was yummy! The coffee was delicious. Free WiFi. Friendly staff 🌿
A. B.
Went in for coffee and cake and was delighted to gind a wide range of beautiful vegan cakes! Had some dark chocolate and coffee cake whivh tasted diviane. Will be back fir more cakes soon! Had tried the smashed avocado sandwich before but thought that it could have been improved by mixing in a little garlic and red onion and perhaps some cumin to make it more guac like as it was a tad bland, also half the amount of salad on top would have been fine. Smoothies were also delicious!
M. B. (. t. k.
place where I fall in love in Veganism :) absolutely great taste , fair prices , lovely people , great service and many more ! just give them a go whoever you are x
B. V.
Delicious vegan food not far from the train station!
M. C.
Very cosy café with good food options. I tried the jackfruit burger and my friend the mexican one. Both were good, but the mexican a bit more "well served" (bigger patty). The dessert looked really good, but we didn't try. Fast service.
P. J.
Amazing and tasty food, great and welcoming customer service. Beautiful patio garden in the back.
F. R.
Cozy Restaurant with amazing food! Make sure to try the mushroom burger - I really liked it!
A. O.
Absolutely delicious and great service!

Very nice dog friendly place, good food.
L. L.
Incredibly delicious and very cute, cozy cafe in Edinburgh. The salads were worthy mains and the cakes were incredible. Would eat here again and again!
T. E.
A different kind of vegan restaurant, large portions, tasty dishes and incredible milkshakes. Better than a "posh" I recently went to. A nice surprise.
S. S.
Nice and cozy place, kind waitress :) I had a burgers and they were good, but I wait more for this price. Burger was like my homemade burger. Nothing else. For good moments I recommend, but not for taste.
M. S.
Lovely little cosy cafe/restaurant. Came with my wife and little boy (2). The food was phenomenal, great choice, fresh, organic, vegan - just wonderful. Highly recommend.
L. M.
I had a piece of gf brownie which was delicious and a smoothie. I was a little disappointed when my smoothie contained a plastic straw (hence the 4 stars). If you guys read this, please consider using a more environmentally friendly straw or none at all :)
K. J.
This is a lovely place with great good. Loved their soup with homemade bread as well as raw pesto zucchini salad. Good coffee as well.

The one of the best vegan restaurant in Edinburgh. The staff is very friendly and their garden is amazing.

Holy cow is right!! My mum and I came here for lunch while we were having a wee weekend away in Edinburgh and we were absolutely stunned. I had the loveliest soup and the staff made her a cheese toastie even though it wasn't on the menu. The tumeric latte was to die for, as was the hot chocolate. We got some cake to take away as we were so full but didn't want to miss out on how good it all looked!! This will deffos be where I head to as soon as I'm in Edinburgh, what a lovely wee place staffed by gorgeous souls 💕🍑
S. W.
A lovely little secluded place with very caring staff who produce some fantastic food in a nice quaint cafe. Can’t wait to visit again once I’m in Edinburgh.
Y. L.
Bright little place despite being below street level. I had a smoothie which was good. The avocado toast was also good though it was more or less avocado smash with a salad on top.
i. p.
Reuben sandwich was incredible. Like, best sandwich I’ve ever had incredible. I’m in love 💖
N. A.
Delicious cheese cake and cappuccino, friendly staff, cozy place
D. S.
Delishous and filling all vegan menu
R. C.
Delicious! We had the tomato and sweet potato soup, one of the burgers, the pulled pork sandwich, the chickpea salad and the BLT sandwich and it was all amazing! Would go back 10/10!
A. G.
Lovely small café with vegetarian food. Superfriendly staff.
A. M.
Awesome Vegan Burgers at an affordable price 🤩😍
S. D.
Stopped in for cake. Wow! Great choice and the two we chose were as good as any we've had (Bounty cheesecake and chocolate & peanut butter cake). All vegan too. Brilliant.
C. H.
Fantastic vegan food in a lovely setting. A bit tricky to find though, especially with all the building work going on around John Lewis, so make sure to look down when your map shows you you are in the right place!
S. R.
Great little place, though you'll have to look hard to find it. It's below road level. Great food, not a huge selection, but really good food!!! And the coffee was Great Too!!!
E. F.
Loved it. Cute vegan place with a reasonably priced menu. Burger was lovely and service was sweet
E. R.
Not one to review but felt compelled - amazing little place, 100% vegan food to die for, no nasty ingredients, homemade gluten free buckwheat bread and incredible looking cakes, lovely staff and chilled out vibe, can't wait to return!
C. M.
Literally the best burger I've ever had. Highly recommend going here. Take your non vegan friends and family and sit them down with a pulled jackfruit burger! Delicious!
I. P.
Great food, great service and one of the best cups of coffee I have ever had. No option to tip on chip & pin so make sure you take some cash as the staff are lovely and attentive.
J. G.
No animals where killed for the production of our food, that was really lovely. I will definetily come again. The place is cosy, has cute pillows with animals. The restaurant is animal friendly, but sadly we did not encounter any animals while there.
C. C.
Such a lovely owner, cosy atmosphere, food is absolutely delicious, fresh and tasty. Good price, I recommend it to everyone, I'll definitely go back there, best vegan restaurant in Edinburgh!
D.
Vegan is always great but for this price it could be slightly bigger portion, overall it's a okay place. Try Mushrooms burger it's nice.
L. T.
Really lovely staff who were super helpful & an absolutely beautiful feast of food. Looking forward to visiting again 😊!

Been before and I always try and pay a visit everytime when I'm in Edinburgh.Amazing fully vegan place, not a very extensive menu but everything they have deserves a five star review plus the place itself is beautiful and stylish and oh I must not forget to mention the cakes, amazing cakes and the new toffee chocolate one is my personal favourite

The burger was a bit special but good. Would definitley recommend the sandwiches. Super big and good.
J. A.
Very tasty burgers that were very filling, with lovely homemade fries and coffee. The portions were big enough that I was unable to finish, even with how tasty the food was.
J. R.
This charming, little vegan restaurant offers a variety of interesting and tasty options. The desserts are also delicious. Highly recommend!
R. B.
Best vegan restaurant I've been to. Banana, strawberry smoothie, zucchini pasta and cake were delicious. Highly recommend!

Lovely cozy little cafe! Not in an obvious spot but very enjoyable. Interesting flavours however a lot of things had peanuts in.
