Another Food hunting Sorry Ice cream hunting reached to a very good 😌 Place near the seaside! Mango + Butterscotch fusion inside a cone is awesome tasty! A unique blend! 😎💕👌❤️
S. M.
Welcoming and friendly service from all staff members.
The dogs were also made very welcome with a bowl of water placed at the table which they enjoyed after a run about on the beach.
The falafel wrap was delicious (they cooked the falafel perfect, nice and moist not all dry and crumbly as so often found).
The coffee was perfection.
M. P.
We are guests often there. Great place to eat and relax. Amazing staff, very friendly and talented Polish chef and the food is always fresh and amazing. It's also clean and simply beautiful. Perfect view spot!
S. A.
Lovely little place next to the beach to stop for a tea or coffee, with a big choice of cakes, which look and taste like homemade.
I tried their Malteser cake with a lovely hot chocolate, including all the toppings.
G. Z.
Recommended 100%.
As we all know Scotland and weather usually does not work. But... if so!
I would definitely combine it with a visit to that lovely place.
Amazing flavours nice food and good prices.
Please Miros keep it that way and do not change.
Thanks
f.
Nice place, food was ok. But there are better options at the beach.
S. D.
I think it's the best veggie breakfast I've ever had, perfect poached eggs, veggie haggis that made the inside of my mouth feel like it was receiving a warm hug. Great staff and atmosphere also accompanied by cute dogs hanging around. 👌
C. N.
Beautifully situated on the beach and nicely furnished. The pancakes were okay, salmon with scrambled eggs and spinach etc. unfortunately not tasty. Half of the salmon was dried out, the spinach cold and tough. I asked for a slice of bread to go with it, which was added to the bill at the end at £3 pounds... I had to wait 15 minutes for the bread, the three waiters were unfortunately not very committed. The coffee was good, though.
S. J.
Food was superb, at first when I saw the price I thought it was expensive but well worth the £12 for freshly cooked haddock and chips and a really good portion too. Dessert was amazing too and Staff were really friendly. We sat outside overlooking the sea too. All in all a really lovely evening and great food!
M. H.
Lovely fish food, ordered 3 starters all came quick and hot. King prawns. Moz sticks. Calamari.
Great place to sit outside and watch people.
R. h.
Excellent service great food.amazing location .

Dog friendly restaurant along Portobello promenade. We stopped in for lunch. I got the Christmas special turkey roulade which was tasty. Two people in our group ordered the lamb kebab which was average. I didn’t give a 5 star review as the service was slow and not particularly friendly. Also, the plates our food was served on were sticky which was pretty gross. I had a glass of red wine which was served far too chilled. The menu options for lunch were on the heavier side.

We were a large group out for a birthday celebration. The restaurant was busy with diners and there was a great vibe. Water was placed on the table shortly after we started to arrive which was cery welcome. Starters of halloumi fries, garlic bread and calamari arrived quickly and were very tasty. The mains were well received by the group ,in particular the seafood options. I went for the king prawn pasta dish which was served in a spicy, creamy, tomato sauce- delicious. Great service throughout the afternoon from the hard working staff and very competent cooking from the kitchen. Highly recommended
E. L.
Lovely staff and delicious coffee ☺️ beautiful view too!!!
J. B.
Lovely beach cafe right on the promenade with good food and coffee but let down by the unfriendly staff. I've been in a few times and they are really quite sullen and can be rude at times too. I had the salmon and it was really good but service with a smile would make it even better!
K. K.
Not been for a while, but was good to see the place still busy. Quick service and really nice food. First time I've had the burger and so tasty (Miros Burger). Then had take away coffee and cake for a walk along the beach. Such a fantastic selection of nice cakes and ice creams
L. M.
Food was good but the restaurant was freezing! Asked if the radiator beside us could be turned on but was told it wasn't working there was also a fireplace but fire wasn't lit!!!! .. the food was not cheap so would expect to be warm at least! .. would definitely not return! :(
A. K.
Nice and cosy. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Lovely warm plates and fresh produce, cooked to perfection. Nice pot of tea. 😊
A. M.
We have eaten here multiple times over the past few weeks. We had breakfast one day which was very good - I would recommend the Acovado and Za'atar one (I can't remember the exact name). We have subsequently also had the takeaway icecream and crepes from here, which are very good too.
F. G.
Very nice food and friendly staff.
One star less for no heating. The take away window widely open making it very unpleasant to sit in. Even the staff was freezing !
C. S.
The place can be very busy and sometimes a bit noisy, but the food is tasty and well priced. We haven't found a better place to eat in Portobello.
G. C.
Had tasty crepe right on the beach. Quite a selection of fruit and savoury. I have fruitella which was strawberry, banana and Nutella! Epic and really yummy 😊
R. J.
Loved it all, had a lovely breakfast with family and staff were nice. Perfect to sit outside too, photos are from full Scottish breakfast, amazing decorations too inside.
F. T.
Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Miros, a perfect serve from the waitress as seen in picture, really fresh crisp water 10/10 pour want a jug for myself… food was mouth watering! None of this compares to the superb atmosphere and excellent music.
K. N.
A beautiful place. Food /staff/ ambiance was amazing, everything was so perfect and worth. I highly recommend Miro’s. 💯
M. S.
Amazing place, great food, great view and service. I would give them six stars if I could. The place feels a little bit crammed, but not too much.
s. j.
An excellent stop for coffee and lunches. Interesting menu with plenty for vegetarians and vegans (there is a vegan branch close by too). Coffee is well chosen and smooth. The range of cakes and tray bakes almost too much to cope with, but have a go anyway. Always busy but the super staff run it like clockwork. Dogs are welcome. For an inexpensive treat go for the cullen skink and sourdough bread, followed by one of the brownies. Don't sit too close to the door as it needs a self closer to keep the warm in and the wind out.
J. C.
Great beach cafe with outside seating. Nice food and very good coffee. Good cakes too.
K. H.
Pasta with King Prawns... To die for. Simply gorgeous. Had a lovely meal in the evening sun on the promenade. Food was first class and service was great. What's not to like....and have I mentioned that King Prawn pasta? Just go and get some....
J. R.
4 of us had brunch today. All different dishes. All fabulous. Even our dog was brought a few tasty snacks. We were made very welcome by the lovely staff. Thank you.
G. C.
Just had a lovely lunch at Miro's. Delicious salad. Enjoyed the atmosphere so much I ordered some cake and stayed a bit longer. Lovely orange blossom tea too. Really needed somewhere just to sit and relax today and I feel really good now.
J. M.
Great atmosphere, lovely staff, good menu delivering delicious food. And a sea view to boot!
V. K.
Nice location, food is even nicer. Eat here on every trip to Edinburgh. Really nice food, love their breakfast menu
J. S.
Our favourite seafront cafe with wonderful friendly staff and delicious food. Soups are amazing and the Cullen Skink is the best anywhere! Plenty of delicious veggie choices Good value too.
E. E.
Fabulous breakfast on the beach front great way to start your day, the sun was shining, we were well looked after and would recommend to others
g. m.
Always enjoy our tips to Miro’s. We had a lovely early evening meal and they looked after Ralph as well with a couple of bowls of water. A nice atmosphere and good food.
A. K.
Lovely place with optional seating outside literarily next to the beach or inside. Great food and beautiful deserts, very attentive service. Would highly recommend.
B. T.
Food was delicious and waitress even brought a bowl of water for our dog. Only complaint was the 45 minute wait for food, other than that it was perfect.
P. T.
We were a bit disappointed when realising the eggs on toast didn't have any butter or anything else with them.. just.. eggs on toast. Our fault for not taking it literally I guess..?
Staff all seemed a little on the grumpy side.. I wonder if they all went partying together the night before or something! Hehe..
d. f.
It was sometime I didn't go to the Promenade. I found this new place and decided to give a try. For those who don't know the area, you are in front of Portobello beach, great views but not a great choice of restaurants/food places. Well, now there is a place fully worth to stop by! We had two different soups puff the day, both very healthy and good, even the toasted bread served with the soup was over the average bread served around. My wife had a second starter, wild mushrooms on toasted bread and she lived them. I went for a classic burger: the meat was fantastic, both for texture and taste. And they have a selection of cakes that competes worth the best pastry shops in town (if you know Casa Angelina you will like this place too). Worth to be tried! Only a minor complaint: no real ales, but some great wine (Primitivo di Manduria is not the every place kind of red wine)
B. B.
Popped in for lunch on a recommendation from a friend, Fabulous choice of food, we had Cuulen Skink, Nachos, Falafel and Fish and Chips. Really enjoyed ourselves, will visit again 😀
N. T. A.
Our waitress was lovely. We had muscles (devine) and the fish and chips (perfectly cooked) and a bottle of sauv. Can't recommend more!!
Z. M.
One of my favourite place in Portobello. They recently opened (or reopened?) And the place has just a lovely vibe, nice jazzy/rock playlist and a beautiful view. Their menu is quite simple but very tasty! A great selection of cakes as well, their staff is always helpful and to top it off they are dog friendly!
S. S.
We had a beautiful breakfast it was perfectly made with fabulous haggis and black pudding large portion will be back
A. L.
Very nice place by the sea. Had wine and mussle, both very good. Mussle' sauce had a bit too much butter/cream.
V. M.
Nice a cozy place in front of the beach to have a drink in a sunny day or eat something good if outside is windy but still having an amazing view!high recommended and pet friendly! Try all the sweets and cakes they are delicious and have a big cabinet so you are able to see all the selection available!
K. C.
Really nice cafe with extremely tasty seafood dishes. The shrimp pasta is highly recommended.
S. B.
Poor service on Mother's Day - very busy but our food order was forgotten about and then arrived in fits and starts. Offered a free drink each but still a pity that our group of 4 couldn't eat together. 2 dishes were slightly burnt too.
Also very irritating that after 2 hours sitting in here we were told we couldn't buy a cake from the counter and would need to join the end of the takeaway queue outside.
We've eaten here before and had a better experience.
J. S.
Had breakfast outside in the sunshine on the promenade. Excellent in every way - great location - excellent food and very friendly efficient service. Only thing wrong was I was unable to pay a tip on my card and had no cash - so doing this review instead. Good value and good experience - thoroughly recommend it - one of the best veggie breakfasts I have ever had!
I.
A small but very nice cafe near the portobello beach. They have a variety of fresh hot and coffees , teas , chai lattes and juices available to pick up on the go. They even have multiple snacking options like croissants , cupcakes , muffins , sandwiches , etc. They also have freshly made fruit juices available. The service is quick. The staff is polite and helpful. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.
J. D.
Location is great. Menu is really good, our food and the food on the tables around us was amazing. Good drinks menu but limited beer selection. Staff were really nice but service was a little slow tonight.
p. o.
I just had a delicious chocolate ice cream, on the beach, watching sunset. Thanks for providing it, Miro's ❤️
D. W.
Amazing place. Great food and service was fantastic. Staff were great . Save space for a dessert. Amazing
M. F.
Super polite weitress. We spoke about name of the bar and what does it mean. He even clarifybit with the others. Nixe sitting next to window to see the beach outside.
C. A.
Cozy and amazingly cool cafe/restaurant at Portobello beach.
The inside is so cozy and well decorated, one would like to stay there all day
Mac'nCheese is awesome and omg you HAVE to buy some (yes, some) of their flapjacks! They are heaven! I swear. Worth every penny!
Staff anyway was over overstaffed, as I counted at least 9 of them and they were all doing small jobs without big sense but none of them even came to the clients asking if they needed something else... Hm... ok?
Anyway, good place for a good tea/coffee/cake/flapjack/meal in a cozy atmosphere.
K. H.
Lovely place on the seafront. Great food and lovely staff and atmosphere!
J. B.
Nice walk along the Prom and in for quick coffee and cake. Dunno why they need to keep front door open though
D. P.
Good coffee nice breakfast bap. The cakes look amazing too. Toilets clean.
S. C.
Forget all other five star review I've ever done. This is THE best. We had calamari to start and then I had king prawn pasta my husband had the Seafood feast. It was superb! Washed down with the Chilean sauvigon blanc. A wonderful experience with very attentive service.
p. g.
brilliant food ,very pleasant and attentive staff, and a really nice relaxed atmosphere. definitely recommend. have been here many times for a breakfast on a Sunday morning. we love it.
D. W.
Food was great Cullen skink was amazing and tempura prawns were on steroids the size of them .
The taste was amazing .
Only thing ambient Greek music was a bit loud .
S. D.
Amazing food, friendly staff. Affordable prices. Well recommended. If you get a chance to visit Miro's also take a walk along Portobello beach, Edinburghs hidden gem of a coast. Just a short bus ride from the city centre. Scotland is a wonderful country to visit.
K. J.
We came here on a Saturday, large party of 15. The service was good, the menu was good and reasonable value. Would go back!
S. M.
Friendly staff, we loved the food. Would return 😁
L. S.
Very good coffee , also good lemon drizzle!
Staff pleasant and helpful.
I. B.
Nice hot chocolate, beautiful view. Definitely a great place to chill out and have a drink next to the sea. The staff don't pay much attention always.
D. H.
Beautiful food, friendly service. Great value for money!
D. L.
Great place to enjoy sunshine by the beach. Nice food, friendly staff.
M. A.
The place is nice, next to the beach, I enjoyed the fish soup (cullen skink), the staff is lovely.
K. K.
Heavenly food and coffee. Friendly staff, very fast serving time even though the place was full. Excellent view. Lovely place
F. G.
What an amazing little cafe. outside not good looking but once through door what a fantastic food experience. Staff excellent food a real treat. Went away really happy and full. Revisit on the cards x
D. B.
Relaxed cafe with friendly service. Great view of the coastline.
L. B.
This is the 2nd time here for dinner and had the fish kebabs. Amazing do fresh and tasty and quite filling.
k. r.
Just a lovely meal. I had salmon and seafood, partner had corn skink and halloumi wrap. Both delicious. Food perfectly cooked! And lovely place with nice staff too. First time there and will definitely be back.
M. B.
Porty Scran breakfast, loads of food at a great price. Friendly service and comfortable surroundings.
S. B.
Stopped of here for a walk along the promenade. We sat outside and service was with a smile. We ordered the Mussels and coffees. The Mussels were absolutely delicious and served with bread and butter. Staff very attentive and helpful. We will be definitely returning.
J. Š.
Very good food. Stuff is really nice, like always in Scotland 🥰. You can seat in front of the beach, which is beautiful.
P. A.
This place is next to portebello beach, so view is quite nice. They have indoor and outdoor sitting options. Overall it was a great experience.
O. R.
Great coffee and the cakes are very good The staff is very nice
D. P.
Excellent light late lunch overlooking the beautiful Firth so relaxing. The staff was amazing happy helpful and great service from them.
D. S.
Great breakfast. Let down by cramped space causing the waiting staff issues, constantly open door made it very cold. Many patrons got up and closed it.
M. P.
We had a brilliant dinner last night. The seafood was very fresh and tasted amazing. We will definitely be back again!
J. D.
Glad to see this place still open or takeaway during corona. Lovely afternoon walk along the beach finish with a cup of tea and a can of T!
P. H.
This place has everything, brilliant location on the beach promenade, happy and friendly staff, great menu, child friendly and a spot on "beach chique" vibe. Also does coffee, cake and crêpe takeaway from the side bar directly on the promenade.
a. r.
Lovely food good prices and friendly staff highly recommended
C. W.
Nice food, good service even during busy hour. Beautiful beach view as well.
S. F. N.
Exceptionally good fish. The Scottish Salmon is delicious. Calamari and tiger prawns are to die for. Absolutely delicious. Diego is a really kind waiter as well and has an extremely helpful and intuitive table manner. He reads people's timings well and identifies when to come and collect food and how to suggest other dishes. 5 out of 5.
J. W.
We called in from the beach with our dog. We had a very friendly greeting and asked where we would like to sit. The place was very clean , tidy and well maintained. The toilets were fresh and above normal standard. The drinks were good and the food excellent. I changed my order due to allergy not realising the linguine had cream in it. That wasn't any problem at all. The staff were more than helpful. Overall excellent value for money. We came from Newcastle and will be back.
P. D.
A great restaurant with a friendly atmosphere and good portion sizes. And dog friendly too
S. L.
Nice place, this time we just drinks coffee ☕
B. I.
Lovely place great food would definitely recommend
K. W.
Lovely food and setting! We stopped here for lunch and we were not disappointed. Great service, great coffee and food, and a lovely setting with a lovely view of the beach. Thank you!
J.
Very nice meal - calamari fresh and tasty. Views out to sea and tables in and out.
S. A.
Plenty tables on the promenade and good table service.. just had some coffees but the food around us looked good..
A. Z.
I went to Miro's on recommendations through fora, but unfortunately there were no Moules au naturel. Never had mussels any other way (and was craving for the authenticity,
however was "forced" to choose for the tomato version instead. All by all pleasant surprise as the taste was very nice though the spiciness did cover up the natural flavours of the mussels. The size of the mussels was good and sometimes even stunning for Scottish standards! 2 recommendedations: moules au naturel on the menu (just leave out the white wine and there you've got it) and staff could have been a bit more attentive to customers. I saw it in general for all tables but also 30 min before order taken while menus were long besides us and then again waiting a long time for the bill (and this also left us deciding to leave without having desert on a long waited for date night) was a tiny bit too much. For that 4 stars, not 5...
Updated review 13Jun2022:
Lost an other star as were sitting outside for 15 min not being served. As it got a bit rainy we went inside where there was plenty of space. We were offered a table next to the toilet. We refused and that's where the face of the waitress fell to the floor and so did our service. Not sure why it was such a big problem if there are free tables enough. Seemed like she wanted to have everyone packed together in the space now covid "seems gone". Were served by an other very kind waitress. After that I saw the other waitress petting a dog and not going to wash her hands to continue service. I worked for the food agency and that would be a clear no pass for that occasion too.
J. S.
Lovely food, friendly service, seaside views....Ideal place to relax and recharge the batteries, catch up with friends. Looking forward to warm weather when we can sit outside again. Tonight just at closing time we were treated to brilliant moonlight on the water. Magic!
j. f. (.
It was my first time and due to Covid restrictions, the sitting in bit looked busy. We sat outside at a wobbly table, which we wedged a shopping bag under. The staff were lovely, tea arrived in teapots and the cakes we ordered were lovely. Thank you .
N. K.
The place is really nice, quiet, smooth ambient… the staff is really friendly
But, the best part is the price-quality-amount of food, this is really good… I went to a lot of place, but you will not find anything like this so easily… I truly recommend to come here.
C. H.
Fab coffee - comfortable surroundings and friendly staff. Always a good pit stop for coffee and cake - well worth a visit.
c. c.
Love this place. Cosy, great ambience. Menu offers plenty choice. Wines - only 4 reds, 4 rosé and 4 white. And fizz. But that's enough. Was quietly buzzing on the Friday evening we were there.
D. C.
Great place! The coffee was delicious and the gluten free tiffin was too.
The only problem is that everything we bought used single-use plastic, even the tiffin was wrapped in cling film, thus the -1⭐
E. D.
It's okay the staff give good service. Food is nice, fresh tasting it's a bit pricey for one person minimum £10 - £20. That is £10 being a coffee and a baked good. They serve great coffee and the food is very good. It gets very busy at times. Food quality is excellent, I would recommend.
C. W.
Had breakfast there on the 22nd December. Absolutely delicious food, great portions and fantastic service. Will definitely be back!
S. C. G.
Heartwarming staff, with good service, delicious fish'n chips, views of the bay... A great place for dinner.
Narrow selection of beers, but they make up with cocktails, whiskey, gin, and wine selection if that's what you fancy.
They adapted well to Covid, but better call and book on advance if possible.
v. g.
Absolutely superb food! I had the Cullen skunk and my partner had a full English Absolutely cannot fault the place.
B. B.
Yummy crepes with Nutella strawberries and bananas
T. S.
Nice enough, sat outside and watched the world go by. Food was OK.
D. T.
This is a fabulous café right on the beachfront. The food is excellent, the service is equally good. A perfect spot for a bit of brunch.
T. K.
Very good food and service as usual
B. E.
No nonsense, quality food. Great cakes including a wide variety of home cooked tray bakes. The soups were delicious. The Cullen Skink was as good as I've had anywhere. Very reasonably priced. Well worth dropping in.
J. G.
5 stars without a doubt. The seafood pasta was just delicious. My mum loved her burger. The primavera pasta isn't so good as it didn't have much veg. However, the service is great and friendly and the design very pleasing. I have been quite a few times already and now its the place we take visitors as well.
D. m. J.
Located directly on the beach promenade and therefore in a top location. Small dishes, good cakes and very friendly and competent service.
B. T.
Really good food, drink and service. Only reason it wasn't 5 star was the cups that they serve the hot drinks in, allowed the drinks to get cold rather quick. Staff were even having a laugh and joke with my 4 year old. Food came out quick, so we didn't have to wait very long at all. Would recommend this place to anyone going down to Portobello. We had looked at other places while down there but food selection wasn't as good as when we seen the menu for Miro's. Thank you for a lovely lunch.
d.
Superb place! So cozy and and buzzing. Good ventilation and a pleasant atmosphere overall.. I'd been there during Xmas hols with my 2 kids and had a pilotion of the softest chicken ever, chips and juices and my phone"s battery died so unable to pay that moment. Thankfully although surprised, they were happy for me to bring the funds the next day. My friend that I was visiting that night had a charger compatible to my phone thankfully and we went there for dinner so payed sooner for plenty of very tasty, hearty and well-cooked food and drinks. The waiting staff and management ever so friendly, I strongly recommend this place for the quality hunters finding themselves strolling on the seaside.,xx
W. H.
Nice place, most staff were friendly. One member of staff needs talking to, seemed to think it was ok to physically grab my collegue. We are two carers out with an obvious disabled man, how is it appropriate for a man to think its ok to grab any woman never mind a carer when out on support.
A. Z.
Nice food, nice views and nice ice-cream. Staff were very polite. It would have been a 5 star review if the side salad on the plates wasn't wilted and the staff more masks. Overall a very nice experience.
F. K.
Great view. It was the first time that I could walk by the ocean.
D.
By Portie shore. Kid friendly and dogs
Always enjoy
B. S.
Lovely evening meal and we came back the next day for coffee and cake and another great experience.
J. C.
Beautiful interior with the best sea view. Cullen Skink and Fish and Chips were plentiful portions (sadly I didn't order them!), I opted for a salad and it was very small for £9. If I had had anything but the salad I guess it would be a 5 star rating. The cake selection looked epic.
a. s.
Tasty food with great views, one downside- we paid £5 for a soup but it was £4.50 on the menu. Was there with a child, they have high chairs and as we were there during a week we had plenty of room. We visited during the summer too as a larger group and most of us enjoy the food (you know, there is always that one person) but my steak sandwich was amazing and chocolate coffee brownie/cheesecake was divine.
H. B.
Food was delicious but not much choice for vegetarians and vegans.
J. S.
Great place for brunch on Portobello promenade
T. B.
Amazing cakes and coffee with an amazing view of the sea. Nice friendly atmosphere.
M. D.
Popped in for a quick bite to eat late afternoon. Quick and friendly service and amazing fish and chips, big portion and really well cooked crispy batter. My girlfriend had soup and loved it too.
S. K.
Great food and a range of things to choose from! Very nice coffee and awesome views! Especially if you want to enjoy an afternoon quietly by the sea with relaxing music and friendly staff! You should definitely try the Banofee cake!
P. B.
Great cakes and coffee, brilliant location, and super cosy! Dog friendly 🐶😀
G. G.
Lovely place, good service and a good cup of coffee. It would be good if they served scones or croissants in the morning. Good social distancing but staff need to wear masks.
A. M.
Fabulous coffee and lovely ambience. Not recommended if you have allergies - I've been in twice and both times staff was unable to tell me which of their cakes are nut free. That was explained by the cakes being bought from another place and for that reasons they don't know the ingredients. It's the same selection of cakes bought every time - surely the bakery would provide the ingredients list if asked. Ironically, the 'gluten free' cake is perfectly labeled and I could probably get a soy latte with it too.
d. s.
Really nice food and people, tables were a bit sticky not sure if the cleaning products are bringing up the varnish. Over all a happy with the service and experience. Glad to see Portobello with nice places to eat and drink . (Perhaps a few healthy options on the menu)
G. B.
Good coffee, friendly staff.Great tay bake cakes
D. M.
Lovely cafe, friendly staff and great food. Could do with an automatic door closure as the door was left open by customers several times on a chilly day!
L. B.
First visit to this great little eatery. We both had the fish and chips, which were of epic proportions. 2 stunningly fresh fish per plate. Home made tartar sauce to die for. My 1 criticism would be the matchstick thin frozen fries. With food this good I'd expect hand cut home made chips.
S. D.
Fab!!!
We have visited for coffee, lunch and dinner with friends, family/dogs and for dinner on "date night" as a couple and we have never been let down.
The steak baguette for lunch is highly recommended and great value for money.
Be warned though!! There's an array of cakes and cookies that will tempt even the strongest willed, you have been warned...
C. L.
NOT dog friendly. Picked this place because had the “Dug Friendly” sticker in the window. Our dog gave three yelp barks and then manager came over and (weirdly tried to touch our dog and trying to approach it) said “customers” were complaining. If you have a silent dog or no dog at all, then this place more suited to you. Food was average, nice enough but management were rude in how they spoke to us and created an awkward atmosphere where we left rushed to leave.
M. C.
Nice green tea, though they were strangely reluctant to give me more than a tiny jug of additional water so I could top up & keep the strength as I like. Nice cake too, and a pleasant, dog friendly atmosphere.
D. B.
Perfect place to eat with a beautiful view to beach and sea ❤️😍🤩I will be back♥️❤️❣️
J. T.
Maybe the best Café in the city!!! Strongly recommend!
C. M.
Keeps me coming back for more. Lovely food. Lovely service.
P. R.
Their coffee is just fine, cakes as for my taste are far too sweet, didn't manage to finish cheesecake. Staff seems to be lost at times. I get that location makes it busy place however when it's crowded the noise is overwhelming.
Do not recommend .
A. N.
Gluten free friendly, done a burger with gf bun and chips for my daughter which she loved. Our mains where all nice and service was good. Ice cream not to our tastes but the rest was very good.
B. S.
right on the beach, so the view was lovely. food and service both excellent and very fast. had the mac and cheese and it was really amazing. will be going back for boozy milkshakes !
A. G.
I love the place for the views and a choice of sweets, but the accuracy of the stuff, their speed and much more is far from being able to call it “a good place”.
I visit this place few times a year, but it rarely goes remarkable. I’ve once had a hair in my brownie. Yes, the stuff changed it to a new one after I’ve showed it, but do you really expect someone to continue eating it after finding a hair in it?
Another time I asked to put the leftovers of my shortbread for me to take it away, while the stuff (presumably a new member) just threw it away. Again, I’ve been given a new one, but a simple accuracy could save them money and rating.
My parents said that the last time they’ve visited Miro’s, they’ve been waiting for their order forever, which was the last drop to them and they probably won’t visit the place again, as they had many unpleasant experiences with Miro’s before as well.
The place usually is quite crowded, but if they will continue to treat the customers the way treat them and with such an attitude, they will unfortunately loose many of their regular customers.
S. A.
Lovely food with great service and nice location. Started off chilly in restaurant but heating was adjusted to make us more comfortable. Have now booked again for a
Family get together.
S. B.
Nice restaurant and lovely coffee. My boys are diary free (allergic) and I don't think they quite understood that entirely, but they do advertise vegan options. They probably jusf need to check what the chef is putting out
A. M.
I sat in and the staff were amazing. So polite and brought me over some water which was lovely. Coffee was to perfection that I had another. The place is also dog friendly which was even better. Great price aswell so I'm def3comijg back
R. F.
Nice, fresh place for a cooked veggie breakfast. Would highly recommend. Amazing cake selection also 😍
M. D.
Beautiful day to sit outside. Very good service 👏. Really good food 👌
B. R.
Excellent all round! Eaten here twice for lunch. Energetic and cosy atmosphere, extremely good food (the veggie Moussaka is a must-try), very reasonably priced for the quality and friendly, attentive staff. Exactly what Porty needed!
M. C.
Lovely wee cafe on the Porty Prom - nice selection of savoury food, teas, coffees and cakes. The Cullen skink is particularly nice, though the bacon rolls aren't quite as good as they used to be
B. B.
Fantastic food and service, found by chance on a walk along the promenade. Highly recommended.
E. D.
That banana milkshake has never seen a banana - made from powder, price 4£.
Brownies good, but seemed a bit old, price 2.80£ (I think).
The staff ignored us for a long time when we were at the table and never came to ask if we needed anything, or to take away empty glasses.
On the other hand, the location is great, there is a beautiful view from the window (at the beach) and you can even sit outside if the weather is good.
J. R.
Friendly, relaxed service. Great fresh seafood well cooked and presented. Excellent cakes for dessert.
A. H.
My overall experience at Miros was ok me, my partner and son love salt however my daughter is not a fan of salt and even for me there was far to much don’t think I would recommend. The burgers looked amazing tho but I wouldn’t recommend the chips or fish.
M. B.
Great food breakfast and pancakes were super tasty A++++
E. P.
The place is nice and cosy, the food is good, the deserts super : -) Most of the staff is intetnational and very helpful and polite. Sam was smiley and wonderful. The only exception was a barista named Mende who had a rude attitude while we were waiting for our table.
We will go back again in any case :-)
d. o.
They are so inclusive and wellcoming. I always treated nicely by the people working here and the food was so fresh and delicious
J. P.
Went here for an afternoon meal and it was exemplary. The food was top notch quality and the atmosphere and interior design was modern and the best. If your looking for an out of the way but highly classed cafe this is the place for you.
A. K.
Excellent food and service (mrs Natasza). Delicious Cullen skink soup and haggis if you are looking for local food with stunning view of the sea.
a. m.
Ate here with friends at the weekend. Food was very good and a great selection of delicious cake. Service poor and annoying - constant interruption asking if everything was ok (4 times), and food and drinks several times cleared away before we had finished!
J. M.
Delicious food, great location.
D. C.
Great cafe/ restaurant in the beautiful seaside town of Portobello, east Edinburgh. The staff are professional, yet warm and friendly. The food is great and the coffee is excellent. The cafe is directly on the promenade and has great views no matter the weather. Worth a visit.
P. P.
Amazing view of the beach, especially recommended in the evening. Great selection of cakes not only looking delicious but tasty as well. Nice time with friends. Staff very friendly :)
S. T.
This is an excellent place to eat. The food is of a good quality and there is plenty of choice. The restaurant is well staffed and the service excellent. We would recommend a visit if you are visiting Portobello. But remember to book!!
S.
Amazing location looking out over portobello beach. Waiter initially forgot about my order and I waited 15 mins for coffee and orange juice. The orange juice tasted like it was from a carton and wasn't fresh. The coffee was OK. The chorizo, poached eggs and toast was quite good. Although the poached eggs were hard and not runny, which was slightly disappointing. That came to £12.50, which would have been acceptable if the breakfast was excellent, which it wasn't. I would say that it was OK, and as such the quality of the food needs to improve or the price needs to come down. I might visit again but il be checking out the espy and the beach hut first to see if they are any better.
N. S.
Lovely meals, and good service.
K. J.
Beautifully situated on the prom with a fabulous view of the sea. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious, I had the Cullen skink which was fresh and flavoursome. I will definitely be back.. Oh and the coffee is the best in Portobello!
M. B.
I was expecting a triangular crepe and I've got a crepe as big as burrito! Awesome! Lovely flavours too and with a view!
S.
The service is great and staff are very accommodating. I love their peanut butter slice and coffee. The toilets are nice and clean. Great location on the promenade.
P. M.
The best food in Edinburgh. Very friendly stuff and lovely views.
A. L. (.
Very nice views of the sea, as well as wonderful food. Would really recommend their tray bakes as well!
D. S.
Fantastic food and the coffee tastes great. Large selection of cakes which all looked amazing. A good way to start your morning with on of their breakfasts.
J. C.
Very good ambience/ relaxed
V. B.
The breakfast was so delicious! A fresh homemade light mayonesse had a sophisticated taste with bruscetta and fried mushroom. We will come here again and again. Thanks for great customer services!
A. L.
The food was great, but the service was awful. The guy was very dismissive, didn't bring us any water, and did not speak a single word during the entire time we were there. Recommend the food, not the staff.
C. M.
Lovely atmosphere. Great cakes and slices. Dog friendly!
T. H.
Nice atmosphere here. Food was tasty. Nice coffee. Good service.
R. V.
Lovely place with a really great view, dog friendly, very nice staff and the fish&chips is great!!
M. N.
Food was decent service decent however its Portobello priced, staff friendly place covid secure
P. Y.
Very good table service. Nice outdoor seating. Food was nice. Lovely clean toilets too.
G. L.
Love this place, coffee is brilliant all sorts available, Cakes are to die for. All cakes are individually made. Best Banoffee pie, caramel shortcake is beautiful.
M. M.
Cosy restaurant, cafe on promenade in Portobello. Eclectic wood interior with beautiful views out to the beach from the window seats. Lovely, clean generic toilets.Unfortunately, service can be a hit or miss. Sometimes left waiting for ages for service even when not busy. But generally staff friendly and helpful. Overall would recommend.
M. P.
Perfect brunch and coffee spot right on Portobello Beach. Family and pet friendly with great food and service. Their cakes are particularly special. Try the banoffee pie with some Cloud Catcher tea while the kids have ice cream and play in the sand just outside the window overlooking the Firth of Forth. Heaven!
G. B.
As a regular visitor with my four legged companion, we were delighted with the food and service on Monday. It's a great venur for brunch with friends. Even my dog, Suzie, automatically heads in Miros direction when we walk along the prom. See you next time we venture to the beach :)
T. W.
Fantastic food and lovely place for breakfast, view over the beach and great service, recommended
E. K.
Today was very busy as the weather was amazing. Restaurant was 100% prepares for this. Service was fast and smooth. You could sit autside as well and enjoy the the sun. Food was tasty and good quality.
r. s.
Mediocre. One piece of bread (cut into two) for a meze is a bit tight. Soup was lacking taste. The cakes are good, but over priced over all for that level of quality I think. Next door is better at the beach house TBH.
A. M.
Good food, appalling service, the waiters come from Cannotcareless land.
S.
Friendly welcoming place. Great with kids and tasty food. Lovely bagel and mocha. Big selection of cakes! Prefer it to the beach house.
m. k.
A bit busy..but great when you get a sea view. Food not too bad either
E. S.
Nice meal and cocktail, however the staff is not paying attention
T.
Had full English breakfast here. Lovely view. Love the decor. Will definitely come back one day!
T. N.
Good location. Quick friendly service and a very nice large bowl of mushroom soup and good bread. Dog friendly, always a plus for us.
P. M.
Good service and hearty Scottish food...
R. A.
Food was really nice, staff friendly and nice location. I was lucky enough to have my meal on a sunny day so I stayed on the terrace. Fair price. A sea food linguine was @ 13£.
G. J.
Lovely café overlooking the sea. Helpful staff. Nostalgic, eclectic music playing. Good coffee. Wide range of food. Recommended are the fish and chips and spag bog.
P. L.
Very busy beach front cafe. Great selection of cakes. Banoffee pie to die for. Hard to get a table at times and quite expensive, but good quality food and coffee.
S. K.
Soup of the day, Bolognese spaghetti, burgers are all nice. Soup is not too salty like most scottish soups are which is a huge plus for us. Price is reasonable . Very very child friendly. You can park ur buggy inside as wwlell
R. C.
Friendly staff, nice meal, waited a while as was very busy
S. S.
Really good value veggie breakfast, nice coffee and overlooking the beach on a sunny day. We couldn't ask for more!
G. S.
Great location, we only had a pint and a chips but I will be honest chips been lovely.
S. D.
Another fab brunch after walking the dogs on Porty beach. Poached eggs were perfect! Just about to choose which yummy cakes we're going to take away.
J. D.
Nice place, good service, good coffee and cakes. Had the French toast, was ok, not much for how expensive it was and too much topping, wouldn't eat french toast with crème fraiche again.
J. C.
Food was really good. Visited a couple of times during our stay in Portabello. Would recommend
B. M.
The food is very good and is a great place for kids and dogs. It is accessible to wheelchair users,(just ask for the ramp). Losing one star as the service can be unreliable. Worth a visit.
D. S.
Service fast and friendly .food was fresh and very tasty. A nice touch with the tea. Tea leaves with a strainer.
R. (.
Amazing and clean place. Not too expensive for the food quality you actualy getting there. Real homemade mayonese and real chamomile tea(havent seen it for a while)surprised me to be honest. Good prices and great quality.
View and atmosphere is amazing. Lovely staff.
J. A.
Lovely relaxed Placetas, very family friendly Staff and Menu. great cake and good coffee within outside seating on the promenade. Gets very busy.
r. d.
Walked in off the street in the pandemic and the people could not have been any friendlier...they made a table of 8 available for us .Good food and prices were not as expensive as other places in porty.
G. B.
Great coffee, lovely cakes, friendly staff. Ticks every box 😊
R. M. F.
Placed perfectly on the beach. Beautiful view. The girls that served us were friendly and efficient.
C. C.
I found that the cakes were rather expensive and I asked for a large coffee and got a small, the cup was only half full and when I said I didn't take milk I wasn't offered hot water to top up
V.
I asked for a steak middle rare and with the sauce on the side. I got a well done steak covered in sauce. I didn't complain because I was there for the birthday of a friend but really....
O. D.
Excelent food, FOH staff another story.
J. N.
Busy, seafront restaurant. Great food and they are dog friendly. Brilliant!
P. S.
This review is for Miro's, the Porty Café that used to be here is now closed.
Excellent restaurant. Friendly, efficient service, very tasty food, excellent cakes and coffee. It has a warm atmosphere and great views over the Firth and Portobello Beach.
D. M.
Good place. Great calamari although not the world's largest portion. Friend had a burger which they rated highly.
L. S.
Nice warm and cosy, a bit slow on service and not many smiles from staff but the food was nice and the decor. Lots on offer and some nice vegetarian options
I. K.
Excellent position on Portobello beach. Great service and coffee. Food looks good too but did not eat there ourselves.
C. F.
Great place and good food. Was a bit of wait for food but was a cracking sunny afternoon and was very busy. Right on the beach front
L. D.
Welcomed in without reservation. Constant with customers. Service a tad on slow side. Food choice limited but tasty with portion size ok. Popular with locals.
L. M.
Lovely decor. Food is 'meh' at best. Had the meze - very little bread, no olives, flabby tzatziki. It all tasted old. Pity, could be a great place.
J. L.
Food lovely. Staff pretty grumpy and got our order wrong.
R. P.
Lovely, chilled place. Friendly reminder staff. Food was good. Cakes to die for and excellent coffee.
A. B.
Love sitting in the sun, with a slice of carrot cake and a cuppa, outside this cafe on the prom. Super friendly service, great food at a reasonable price.
S. M.
This is such a great place and a very welcomed option in Portobello. Great for breakfast, relaxing with a coffee and paper or for a evening meal. Miro's is licensed as well with s nice variety on the wine list.
F. M. K.
Excellent location very close to the beach with nice views.
Food and coffee were very good.
(Green pasta on the picture)
M. Z.
Service was timely and cordial. The food was far above our expectations. We'll most certainly go visit them again.

E. G.
Delicious mocha and cakes! Lunch was decent however there seems to be a huge difference in portion size depending on what you go for!
N. M.
Cool takeaway service during closure period. Chips 'n cheese, Milkshake, Tea and Coffee... All excellent. Thank you!
R. M.

It is a really beautiful place! The food, the coffee, I can absolutely recommend this café. Would definitely visit it again.
F. S.
Miro‘s is my favorite restaurant. It has insanely nice food and the Staff are very kind and actually care about you.
You should seriously go here and support a local business instead of going to a data food restaurant.
S. R.
Delicious food.. chilled atmosphere and reasonably priced.. Will visit again ..
R. T.

s. q.

Fab food and super cakes. Great place to eat. They have some lovely art work there too.
D. S. S.
Very friendly staff and quality food with the best view in town. Perfect for a sunny day on the terrace.
S. W. (. B.
Waited an hour for the meal to be served but it was served hot unlike the draught from the door being left open everytime a customer came in or when they left, allowing the cold air from the north to gust in.
S. M.
Friendly, good service, delicious celeriac soup, soya milk for my mocha coffee and great carrot cake. Also free wi-fi, great background music.
C. D.
Brill cafe/brunch venue- never been for a later dinner. Great service from staff everytime. Very accomodating of kids and dogs!
