An absolute gem of a place! Great menu, fantastic food and a good wine list. This restaurant would hold its own in London or Barcelona, for sure. Family-run, small and a lovely combination of cosy and cool, this is just a fab spot for a date, girls' night out or just a chill evening with some very good food! Service was perfect too - the right amount of friendly and polite for the overall feel of the place. Make sure you book to avoid disappointment. You can call if you can't find a booking online as the team will do their best to accommodate you.

Well this was a very European affair, once sat down we felt like we were transported to another continental venue. Such a vibrant restaurant, so local yet not the drinks were all Spanish based and the food, well the food was just so, so good. We had the meat plater to share. It's was simply fantastic. All in all a lovely night out, looked after us exceptionally well, highly recommended, we will be back, top notch. Thanks to the staff! 😄

Oh. My. God. Amazing! I can't wait to go back! What a wee gem in Edinburgh. The staff were great.. explained everything and were very knowledgeable. The owner (I think) was around speaking to people and I overheard him saying to his staff to pay attention to the guests. I was impressed.. it's very clear that guests and his business are very important and it pays off well. I've been recommending here to everyone !

We had the charcuterie plate, which was super yummy, except there were only two of the most excellent pickled beans. The cold cuts were fantastic, and the cheese selection really nice. Skip the truffle potatoes. They were just chips. The galacian beer was a nice cold lager. The white riojas wine was pretty good too.

Amazing! We visited Edinburgh for a few days and while walking through royal mile we came across an eye catching tapas restaurant. My kids didn’t seem too excited as they are picky with food sometimes. However this was a great quality restaurant where we ate extremely well. The employees were also super sweet and helpful. There is a great variety of food to share or eat yourself.

It's a fine tapas bar. Producing tapas isn't really rocket science so the whole thing has to be done well. Quality ingredients, good service, lots of buzz and a good choice of wines and beers. These guys do exactly that. I hope that they prosper; they certainly deserve to.

Sooo good. Small place, therefore would suggest to book in advance! You can see the chef cooking whilst waiting for food to be ready. Staff there was so friendly, they went out of their way to suggest some local bars/restaurants while being in Edinburgh. Food presentation is really well displayed and the flavour won't disappoint either.

Lovely authentic Spanish food and excellent staff. Main waiter Daniel runs the place with his dad and delivers top banter. Tapas can be expensive in our experience but we also thought it was great value for what we got. The chips with truffle are amazing! You could also tell all the food was freshly made with love. Top location too so well worth a visit as plenty great pubs near by. We will definitely be back.

I went here for coffee. The coffee was really good. After the coffee i decided to try the churros, which was by far the best churros i have ever eaten. Also the place looks very nice. But note that the food takes some time to be served. And it's not very cheap, but you definately get what you pay for.

What a wonderful little gem. We were staying at the Premier Inn on East Market and saw Piggs at the top of the road. Looked lovely and thought we would give it a go. What a lovely place to eat food was good, service was excellent I would however book.

Excellent Spanish food! I ate here with my partner and parents, as Spaniards we are always slightly sceptical about trying our cuisine in the UK (as its either overpriced or not as good quality). We had a mixture of Spanish cured meats and cheeses as well as an array of tapas. I have to say we were all pleasantly surprised and so happy with our food. We could genuinely taste that everything was fresh and homemade. The staff are absolutely lovely and accomodating. The restaurant has also such a cosy and warm environment! I would definitely recommend and will come again in the future!

In the 1.5 hours we were there, we didn't see them wash their hands even once, considering the one guy cooks, serves and takes money as well as was cleaning tables, it's not very safe in the current situation.

Wonderful food and service Daniel and his team accommodated us on very short notice - the food was brilliant in every aspect. Huevos rotos with chorizo was absolutely divine, alongside the croquettes (very crisp and flavourful) and some excellent Spanish tortilla among many of the dishes we tried. Reasonable prices all round for exceptional quality. The churros are a must. Luxurious chocolate sauce and gorgeously crisp batter. Exceptional start to a holiday in Edinburgh - do not miss this one out !

We were not sure which wine to order so the wine waiter let us try some different wines he'd suggested. The tapas were delicious! Better than the tapas I've had at numerous supposedly "good" restaurants in London. The food was so consistently flavourful (including a cold vegetable dish) that we ordered more, even though we were full, which is something that we've never done before. The must haves are the chorizo, meatballs, patatas bravas and croquettas. The churros could've done with more sauce and cinnamon, but I understand that the staff were rushed when preparing the churros and also to close at 8pm because of new covid regulations The service was great - staff were chatty, attentive, and informative. The vibe was intimate, and relaxed, which is hard to achieve. I loved the colour scheme of the plates and the weight of the cutlery. The candles were a lovely touch. Highly highly recommend. Eating at Piggs has gotten me excited for Spanish cuisine, now I really cannot wait for our Spain trip (when covid allows). Piggs may be my new favourite restaurant.

Got high standards on this. Barrafina in London a favourite and lots of trips to off the beaten track Spain to provide a benchmark. Liked this a lot. Nice room and the tapas standards pretty well done. Would have liked some proper pata negra jamon on the menu and a bit more seasoning in the albondigas. Also, could be wrong but didn't see any manzanilla on the drinks list. Think they could be a bit more adventurous but it may be about what the clientel will support. Will definitely be back.

I went their last evening just for desserts as the neighbouring shops were closed. I am so happy I did. PIGGS had a wonderfully pleasant ambience with all the tables neatly candle-lit and the menu set perfectly. I had a chocolate cake but I am sure I will have more in my next visit. The prices are slightly higher than other shops in the neighborhood. Nevertheless, the service is better. Also, they give 10% student discount (I wish it was 20+).

Had a lovely first visit to PIGGS today after reading a very favourable review in The Scotsman. The food and host, Daniel were excellent (and lovely to see his dad helping out) I particularly enjoyed the chorizo, free range egg and potatoes dish, however all the food we had was very tasty. A little gem on the Canongate/Royal Mile, very relaxed atmosphere - I will definitely go back.

It was 20:00 and we were desperate for some food. We found this appealing place and we discovered that the boss was from Alicante (as we) we ordered two pieces of tortilla which was the best tortilla i’ve ever tried, absolutely delicious and she invited us to bravas. If you want to have a taste of homemade Spanish food you should pay a visit to this place.

We stopped by here for a quick bite. We are so happy we did. The jamon and manchego sandwich was delicious. This eatery uses proper artisanal made bread.......nice crisp crust and proper crumb.
