The restaurant manager was very pleasant and as it was my friends belated birthday he brought us a glass of complimentary prosecco and cake with sparkler, a really nice touch.. an absolutely brilliant restaurant....loved it

There is an amazing selection of food on the menu, many I haven’t seen elsewhere as signature dishes. Popadom and pickles to start. We had shared starter for two among four and everyone got a sample of all of the selection. We ordered individual dishes and puris and rice and we were well fed. The service was good with all dishes promptly brought to the table. Good sized dishes , plenty to eat, if a little expensive.

I ordered a take away last night which overall was fine except for the fact they forgot to add the poppadums and my vegetable korma which was a tad on the spicy side, which resulted in me leaving half it. So it's best to remind the restaurant you want it extremely mild to avoid disappointment.

WHERE I SHOULD START WITH !!! Called just before 45mins and booked a table for 9 in that 4 are kids (especially weekend they allowed for kids) Very warm welcome and waiter (ASH) who came to ask for what white wine selection and what we should pick suggested well with india curries. My kids have mild food actually very mild food and made it exactly de way they would love it! You guys need have one more in LONDON!! Keep it up 👍🏻

We were staying at the caravan site and were reluctant to negotiate the Edinburgh traffic so we decided to get an Indian takeaway delivered. Our experience here was great from the beginning, a cheerful friendly phonecall, a helpful discussion on the options for food and agreement to deliver to the caravan site. We were promised delivery in half an hour and received it more or less on the dot. It would have taken us more time to drive for it and return. The food was very good, we had a mixed sharing platter, which was highly spiced, but not overly so, with a good range of flavours and generous portions of meat, followed by two lamb dishes, with the lamb Balti being a particular highlight. The garlic nan was also very good, as was the pilau rice. There were no disappointments at all in anything we ordered. Pricing for takeaway is 20% off restaurant prices, with free delivery, which placed it right at the top end of what we have ever paid for a takeaway - but we were on holiday and did not want to venture into a restaurant, so regarded it as worthwhile.

Great location for both the restaurants. the service is fantastic from the second you enter through the doors. The food is always freshly made and that you can sense from the presentation and smell of when it arrives. Plenty of room for large gatherings and the atmosphere is very cosy and electric. Great people and they will make you laugh and look after your needs. they do not hesitate to go the extra mile.

We had a lovely lunch. The tapas selection is very tasty and good value. We all had a starter, main course, nan and rice. Not huge portions but ample for lunchtime. Service was really good and the place is really nice. It's a wee bit off the beaten track but worth the trip.

Good standard Indian food. Nothing unusual but they do the usual dishes well. Prices quite good too. Avoid the window seats in winter (although you are usually steered there) as it's freezing by the windows.

We were only visiting Edinburgh for 3 nights, and we ended up so happy with Ronaq that we enjoyed dinner there twice during our brief stay! The food was excellent and, in particular, we enjoyed the friendly and efficient service of our server, "Q". We got to know Q as a person and really enjoyed chatting with him about his life, including his recent marriage. In other words, Ronaq was a more personal and easy going dinner experience - which was especially welcome after the mad house experience of a day at the Fringe. And to emphasis the final bonus: the food was superb (try the lamb chops!).

First visit was first time eating out for Xmas dinner and based on this experience I would definitely do the same in future. Very friendly staff and service and nice surroundings. The menu is quite extensive and it was good to be able to pick from so many dishes for xmas. Food tasted great too - will definitely return.

Hate to say it but almost to great a service, to the point that it's uncomfortable. I was asked 3 times if everything was ok with the food ( which it was , food very tasty) I had only taken a couple of mouth fulls. I just wanted to say and everyone take a breather. Recommend this place, it was a very pleasant experience and would definitely go again. Beautiful decor, amazing service and very friendly staff. Shoutout to the boss Tahir for the hospitality. P.S. The Best Chicken Pakora , Pieces of crisped chicken skin are layered with spiced ground masala chicken. Main courses are huge and meaty. There’s a mushroom biryani and a dish of roasted aubergine but, really, it’s about things which once had a pulse. The meal becomes about dark brown things on plates, but they are very good, very intense dark brown things. Lamb ribs, that often overlooked cut which demands a firm hand, here gets one. They’re pelted with spices, before being left to loiter in a hot oven until they’ve started to fall apart, then dressed in a sauce the colour of a dark leather satchel.

Ronaq, at Comely Bank, was born after the closure of The Far Pavilions and offers the same excellent Indian/Kashmiri cuisine. No alcoholic licence means you can take your own wine or beer and means the whole experience is extremely good value. Highly recommended.

We had travelled from Australia to do the North Coast 500 and spent one night in Edinburgh. We needed an Indian experience after a long day of travelling and sightseeing and stumbled (lucked) across Ronaq on Craigleith Rd near where we were staying. We have tried an Indian at every city we have travelled to and none have come close to this one. The best Indian we have experienced in our travels as well as our home state. Do yourself a favour and don’t bother searching Google any further for anything better…you won’t find it. Ask for Benny as well and get the best service finished off with an after dinner mint with your bill. Brilliant. Thank you guys. 12/10 rating from us.
