This place never fails to impress me. The food is always great and the service is consistently outstanding. The staff seem really happy to be there and engage with customers in a genuine way. The building is well laid out and has a great atmosphere. The only negative I can think of is sometimes the music is a little loud. I visit way more than I should do because it's such a good experience every time. They never let me down.

Michael our server was a very nice lad, genuinely happy person with great service. Sometimes at TGIs kindness can seem fake, but his was genuine. We had a great time and the food was great, and super filling. We did wait slightly longer for the first drinks to arrive, but this may have been due to the restaurant having lots of people in, for a lunch time, it isn't usually that busy. The staff coped well though. I'd be happy to come back here again.

Visited here this evening around 6.30, it was quite busy. Service was quite slow and our waiter thought the beer my husband was ordering was a cocktail. Hubby had The Towering Inferno Burger and said it was very good and portion size was good. I ordered the sesame chicken strips which were luke warm if that, chips were warmer but not hot and the salad was quite drab and limp. I've had this dish before here and it was beautiful but this time really was a let down. We ordered kids meal also which looked nice enough. Thumbs down for me tonight guys sadly.

Went hear for food and have to say staff were very helpful and funny. As everything on the menu sounded so good I could not make my mind up so u asked the person over our table to bring me out what ever they thought was nice 🤣. I am going to give this three stars simply because the service was good. The food was not good. This was on June 17, 2022. I am American and I eat at TGIF’s fairly frequently. It was my first night in Scotland visiting a friend. He wanted to show me an American restaurant to see if it was the same. It really wasn’t. He had tacos that were more artisan than taco, but he said they were ok. I ordered a blackberry lemonade. Well, apparently that isn’t a thing. I had had a lemonade earlier in the day that was correctly made so I had thought nothing of it. Firstly, they don’t have blackberry, so they made it with black currant, it was actually a good flavor. However, when the drink arrived it was Sprite with black currant to flavor it. Not impressed. Next the potato skins I order I asked for ranch dressing to go with it. The typical way in the US. I generally ask for extra ranch. Firstly, when making the skins they scraped out all of the potato so that it was just the skin and then put some cheese in it. TGIF makes their potato skins as twice baked potatoes in the US. The cook burned the potato skins. It was similar to eating burnt potato chips. He tried to make ranch as they don’t actually have ranch. Just so you know ranch is easy to make. I make my own. What I was served was gritty cream. No dill was used. I think it was likely some sort of mayo and onion powder concoction. I was very disappointed. I do not recommend eating there. I would also recommend that the cook go to the freezer section and buy TGIF Potato Skins and see what they are. I saw them while I was at their local grocers. Actually, he may want to try buying all the TGIF products and checking them out.

Usually love this place but tonight standards were a bit off. We recieved the wrong starter and had to wait 15 minutes for the correct one to be brought out whilst the other person finished theirs. Then received the wrong side with our main and had to wait on that, by which point we were almost finished our main. Lastly was charged wrongly on the bill. This was all sorted out in the end and most of the staff were happy enough to help, we were just unfortunate.

Food was good as always but unfortunately the gents toilet was a disaster. One urinal was out of order but with a bucket underneath to catch the water. This had helped but there was still water over the floor also the tap water was cold. Didn't leave a good impression on what the kitchen might be like.

Unexpectedly good ! We'we been there on Friday the 13th looking to find a good place for a steak meal. We had a bad experience in another restaurant close to this.:( The place is American style which it was quite interesting for me but I really like it. After a quick and smiling welcome we have been seated to a table. A lovely and helpful waitress made us feeling comfy and good. She suggested us a couple of dishes , with a lot of patience as I am always asking a lot... All of our choices were so yummy and I was positively surprised about the quality and flavor of the food. Taking care of us from the beginning to the end ,our waitress , Megan, made my day. Thank you again. We will be back for sure. The only thing what makes my experience a bit unhappy was the very loud music .

My husband and I visit regularly to TGIFs and have also had such an amazing experience when it comes to customer service and your amazing staff! They have always been friendly to talk too and seem like they mean when they ask, We had a great experience tonight with Micheal for my hubby's 30th and want to say he made the experience even better with his service! I hope he sees this to let him know how great a night we had all because of his service! Food is always superb too and never lacks in getting value for money!

The burgers are far too big to eat, that's not a complaint as they are what they are advertised. I've been twice now and had the Warrior burger each time, and it's defeated me each time too. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the table,chairs and floor were all clean.

I come here a lot, I have a few friends who live out of town and when they come it's one of our favourite places to go! The food is usually good and the cocktails are great, my only gripe is that sometimes it seems quite understaffed. This is totally understandable, no point having too many people when the restaurant is quiet, but if it does get busy it can be quite a wait and it's difficult to get someone's atrention- this can be a little annoying, especially when there is cinema right next door and you're in a rush to make your film on time! But overall, a decent place for a bite!

Fridays was our choice to go for a late dinner recently. We've ordered one of their chicken burgers and a full barbecue rib. Food was divine. Chicken burger was just something else. Meat was super tender and tasty, all veggies actually tasted like something. Sides were great as well. When it comes to the ribs, those were probably the best I ever ate. Meaty, not overcooked, with a fantastic smoky grill flavour. I'd recommend their legendary glaze. When it comes to staff, they were really quick and there was a nice selection of music, nothing annoying. I really want to try their festive dishes selection this year for sure.

Took my 5 and 3 year old for dinner on a Saturday night. It was quite busy however we were seated quite quickly which was good. 15 minutes went by and our waitress took our orders but there was no flare or excitement or even acknowledging that the kids were there and out to dinner. which I'm used to in places like this - the food eventually arrived however (and this is what did it for me) - the waitress was in such a hurry that the plates landed with a loud bang and instead of apologising she was off by the time looked up - no, have a good meal, no apologies or even can I get you anything else which we did want another drink. The dishes then sat for close to 20 minutes while we watch the waiting staff at some points running up and down the restaurant. Finally I had to speak to a manager who was apologetic and understanding. She then proceeded to make my kids balloon animals and be a little interactive which was great and why this review is not a 1 star. If I could any advice - slow it down and treat customers the way they expect to be treated and not like a simple number. Wont rush back.

We went with the kids, I don't feel like they have a great selection on the menu if you don't want a burger or wings. Our desserts got given to the table next to us so we waited alot longer for our dessert. Iv been to a few tgis and let's be honest, they are normally not that good. This one is an exception. Great wings, not soggy here. Great burgers aswel with a nice crisp outer crust. Mmmm. It's ok, there's nothing about it that would make me come back. Place was nice and clean. Our server was very pleasant but we had to flag her down about 3 times for things, a refill, ordering dessert, getting the bill so we felt that although she was nice, it was just lacking a but, could have been more attentive. The food was alright. The portions I thought were small. The sharing bean nachos were enough for one person and a bit odd. It was baked beans on nachos which is weird I think, I was expecting black beans or something a bit more exotic. The Caesar salad was also weird, the croutons were bits of popadom. That wasn't on the menu and really unexpected. There wasn't any salmon left and I didn't want the other options of prawns or chicken so got it without anything and felt it was bad value for money for lettuce, dressing, parmesan and popadoms. So weird, still scratching my head now about that one. The garlic fries were really good. The 'sharing' desert is no bigger in any way than anything you'd get as a single portion anywhere else. The beer was nice and so was the Coke. Wouldn't come back, there's not really anything they do any better than anyone else.

Had a really lovely meal and a pleasant overall experience. The floor staff are great, chatty, very friendly and good at their jobs. We had a main, pudding and paid £3.10 each for the unlimited juice refills. We both left feeling well fed and unlike other places where you need to chase them for a refill the staff have another one on your table minutes after you finish the last, excellent. I would recommend a visit to anyone and we will definitely be back.

Music was so loud that conversation was almost impossible, our waitress did have the volume turned down a little at our request, very much appreciated. Sitting in a booth you will be clashing toes with the person across the table from you, there is very little leg room for short women, never mind normal sized adult men.

The best food served in all of Edinburgh's TGI franchise. Great following of government pandemic guidelines. Regular cleaning of tables, entrance area and reception area with antibacterial and disinfectining spray. Unfortunately can't say the same about customers who, even when prompted by staff, weren't following social distancing. Be prepared for a bit longer waiting period after you place your order and when phoning in to book a table.

Went here last Tuesday and the food was unreal! I had a burger and my partner had a steak, great prices for both plus drinks! Really welcoming atmosphere and the service was above and beyond! Will definitely be back!

Good food with a great atmosphere and excellent staff that are welcoming to groups and families alike. Plenty of choice for pretty much anyone but for those who love ribs, burgers and all things barbequed you're very well served. You will get seated quickly most nights and service even when busy is generally speedy. Around the busy holiday shopping periods it's probably worth booking advance because the waits generally increase just due to sheer volume of traffic.

Always an absolut pleasure to come to the Fort Kinnaird TGI Friday's. The staff are always cheerful and friendly and helpful above and beyond just serving your food. Compared to the other TGI Friday's in Edinburgh this place is leaps and bounds ahead in terms of their staff. The food quality is also always high with a higher standard or presentation, flavour and quantity than the other Edinburgh TGI. The only other TGI Friday's that have come close have been Glasgow and York. Would recommend this place to anyone visiting The Fort.

I've never been to any TGI Fridays, and been completely satisfied. We were a group of 10. They sat us at table of 4 and one of 6, which we accepted. We sat one adult and 5 kids at one table. Order taken, perfectly happy,....until the starters arrived....together with the mains! Who would ever want their starters and mains all at once!

We where offered a table for 7, then moved to a booth near the chaotic kitchen. We placed our orders at 8.10pm and got our food at 8.45, we ordered nachos, chicken wings. Not much else to choose from as the Menu is dominated by beef which is a meat we can't eat for religious reasons. We then ordered main meals for the twins, 1 chicken bites and chips,1 chicken burger. On getting the chicken burger my girl had a hard time trying to bite into the burger. The other twin had the smallest portion of chips iv ever seen. The chicken burger was replaced with chicken bites and chips. I bought my Family here for a good experience and vibe, and of course celebrating 2 birthdays. Service was cheesy and friendly but slow considering it took 45 minutes for a portion of bruschetta. Luckily it tasted good. The veggie burger was a let down, as was the Bruce Lee. Overpriced considering it's a chain. Disappointed as I've always loved the Castle Street branch.

Went for desserts this evening -10 of us-brownie dishes were very very dry -almost stale-served with already melted ice cream but no strawberries though as described on menu very basic-then had to ask 4 different staff for cutlery which took until ice cream practically melted!!- The Latte ordered was more like a black coffee with a drop of milk in it & tea served without spoons & warm milk!! Music obviously a big part of ambience but it was really blaring out that you could hardly hear person sitting next to you. Dont think will be visiting again for quite a while!!!! Disappointed!!!
