Reviews of Wahaca Edinburgh

Absolutely amazing Mexican food in the heart of Edinburgh. The waiter was very helpful and attentive. The guacamole is a must, very fresh. We had a selection of tacos and quesadillas, all very tasty… Spicy margaritas are savage!

Brilliant experience here, they were so good with my wife allergies and made sure everything was taken care of. Food was great as well the drinks, the atmosphere really caught a good Mexican vibe with the music playing in the background. I will definitely be back.

Wahaca has become one of our fav spots in Edinburgh. We went twice and had and did pick up a tasting menu to enjoy at home once. We picked the "FAVOURITES" for two each time, and we loved it.
The food is delicious, creative, spicy, different and full of flavours. The Favourites include Pork pibil tacos, Buttermilk chicken tacos, Trealy Farm chorizo quesadilla, Grilled 'halloumi Al Pastor' tacos, Devon crab & avocado tostadas, crispy cauliflower bites, Chargrilled broccoli. We did pay £44 for the food for two.
We also tried a few desserts, non-alcoholic cocktails AND hot chocolate - which is to die for. It's made from Peruvian raw cacao, and it's nothing like regular hot cacao. Strong, not sweet, rich flavour. I'll probably pop around just for this one on cold afternoons.
We love the chef's creativity. The restaurant is spacious, calm with a great atmosphere. We will come back for the food without any doubt. I highly recommend this place. Don't forget to book in advance as it is often fully booked.

Service and food excellent would be better is starter & main came out separate
My desert lovely but my friends desert not whipped. For the same desert. .
Cappuccino lukewarm send back and still came back cool. Could be much better if hot.
Still excellent food and fantastic atmosphere for our special birthday luncheon . Thank you

Very welcoming given the ridiculous rules imposed on us by the powers that be. Loved the food and the ambiance and service was good. The margaritas were perfect. Had to sit on a hard chair so minus one star

Such a nice change of pace from all the bog-standard restaurants you see around the UK. The staff were lovely and advise on anything you have a question on. While you can order a bunch of food yourself, this place is more for sharing with everyone.

Waiter upstairs way over worked cleaned tables delivered food and took orders for the whole floor. For the price they can easily hire more. Food was good but overpriced for how much you get. Queue out the front and we were turned away before but when you’re in it’s half empty. No place to wait at the front either. Bit of a shambles and it cost us £60 for the two of us to leave still hungry. Wouldn’t bother going again.

Delicious food, freshly cooked. Getting helpful staff. It was very quiet, we could have done with some Latin themed background music.
