Last minute reservation for 4. Arrived early and still welcomed and seated quickly. Great selection of food, we had the deli chicken & chicken pakora to start with. For main courses we went for the South Indian Chilli Chicken and the traditional korma. The kids had the kids Korma and rice. Going for the VIP kids meal they had a fruit shoot and animal themed ice cream. Brilliant and tasty food (apologies food was gone before we took pictures!) Very friendly staff and amazingly tasty food well worth 5 out of 5 stars ! If your in the south side give it a try, brilliant Indian styled meals !

Very nice meal here, service was excellent and the staff very polite and efficient. Lovely clean restaurant, tables set nicely. The only thing wrong was my dessert, I got the brownie with ice cream, (you pay extra for ice cream), the actual brownie was tiny.... It cost £3.99 on it`s own then £1.00 extra for ice cream. If they had came with the brownie on it's own I would have refused it as it isn't worth the money. All the food was however delicious, but dessert price spoiled the meal.

We took advantage of an Itison voucher to try the tasting menu. We were guided through the menu by our server and chose items that we wouldn’t normally go for. EVERYTHING was delicious, I’m not usually a fan of aubergine, but it was melt in the mouth gorgeous! as was the chickpea dish. Staff were lovely, attentive and friendly. The basic question is always, would I go back. The answer is a definite YES

The 3 of us went for the pre theatre, but it was not offered on arrival. Service was prompt, drinks pricey at 6 quid. Poppadoms and spiced onion great, but I had to ask for more onions as the portion was small. Chicken panoramic was very good, fish and veg panoramic not so much. I chose lamb garlic chilli as it was supposed to be hot. It was medium at most but sweet and souring as described. Nans took too long to arrive after the dishes and the garlic nan was swimming in butter and garlic overkill. Meat content a bit on the low side and I would like to compare with the a la carte portion. So overall a bit mixed but in general OK.

We order Ashoka almost weekly. Their butter chicken is a masterpiece. My partner once asked me to choose random options between 1) not having Ashoka butter chicken in my life ever again 2) not having all pasta in my life ever again... and I chose the second option, as their butter chicken is TOO GOOD! I’ve wanted to say thank you so much for making this awesome food! :)

A first time visit for us both but will definitely not be our last visit. Got a deal on 5pm for 7 dish tasting menu. It was absolutely fantastic. The food was so fresh and oozed flavour. Quality of service was top notch. Our server was so lovely and very friendly taking time to chat away to us. Could not fault anything. A wee gem of a place.

Visited last night after a 6 months gap since our last visit and the quality of the 7 course Taster was as good as before which was excellent. All food served hot and promptly. Taster just the right amount of each - I got an extra peshweri nan. Only wee problem was the the poppodam only had spicy onions dip and not the usual selection. We would gladly recommend all to visit the place.

Travelled from Ayrshire & sampled the 7 course tasting menu which had something different from the 'normal' choices on offer. One of the most authentic Indian meals I have ever had outside of India. The Desi chana masala was absolutely splendid and I took the opportunity to ask the manager about it. He told me that they especially import the spices for this dish from India and use their generational family recipe. The taste is so authentic that it beats what we even get at home!

First time ordering from here. Delivery was prompt. We choose the set meal, my son has the ceylonaise chicken korma and I had the chicken tikka pardesi, fish pakora and mixed. The chicken was nice and soft in the korma and the sauce lovely and creamy he thoroughly enjoyed his meal. Mine not so great, quite bland and the chicken tikka just a bit on the hard side. I didn't finish my meal and the leftovers went in the bin. Fish pakora went really well with the the green dip not sure what exactly that was? I did upgrade and pay for a garlic naan bread but sadly this was just your bog standard naan we received. Didn't bother to phone as too much hassle over a minor issue and this was a delivery. Will return once more to try another curry out to decide once and for all if they are really any good.

Had a lovely meal through a wowcher offer. The starters were excellent and nic e to try a variety of things. Main meals were also very good (Get the reccomendation for lamb dish!). Quite inconsistent. I have gotten from here a couple times, most recently tonight and well it’s just inconsistent. The first time I got from here it was brilliant, truly one of the best takeaway curries ive ever gotten, however, I have just gotten a delivery of the exact same curry and it is bland and the chicken is very tough. Also, I payed £1 and they sent me 1 poppadom, I was honestly kinda is disbelief cause that’s just a brass neck when these things probably cost them about 10 p a pop, if that!! Overall, I’m not sure it’s worth the gamble of whether it will be amazing or a waste of money.

Words cant even explain how great my experience was there. This is one of those hidden gems you have to experience to understand.The chicken Tikamasala and Nan bread was the food i ordered and so did my friend and was fantastic and very reasonable too. The waiting guys were very attentive and smart. Southside was AMAZING! Best I ever had. Every bit was a joy of goodness. It really and truly was wonderful. A must try!!!

Meal deal for one - Chicken Pakora was fantastic. South Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken was great as always, really nice flavours. Rice was fine and Garlic Nan was brilliant as well. Can't beat the flavours of this curry.

Have been visiting the Ashoka South Side for many years but has been a while since last visit.Had gone at 5pm opening time as thought we could get pre theatre menu but they no longer do this. Feel it was very expensive for the little we had as it cost us almost £40 and all we had was 1 starter to share, 1 lamb Pardesi ,1chicken Pardesi ,portion of boiled rice and a plain nan, 1 blackcurrant and soda water and glass of water, 1 latte and 1 black coffee a portion of popadoms and spiced onion. As you can see not much for £40 . There is also not the ambiance there once was so don't know if I would return plus it is a little expensive for what you get.

We normally order our takeaway from Three In One which is delish, but I had a deal on Uber eats, so I thought I'd try out Ashoka for a change. The food was nice & good value especially considering the voucher, but I think in future we'll just stick to Three In one. First of all, they use far too much plastic: Every item was either packaged in a polestyrene or plastic tub- the plastic tubaware being the sort that can last you years! I would ask that they consider the environment a lot more in their methods. Just a few suggestions: * The rice, curries & spiced onions can be in cardboard containers *The poppadoms can come in a paper bag alone - no plastic bag needed aswell * The pakora,samosas etc can be placed in paper bags rather than polestyrene boxes All of which our current curry providers do Now on to the food: We ordered a chicken & a vegetable jalfrezi , and they were tasty, however just not as good as we've had before. Furthermore, my father found not 1, but 2 hairs in the chicken one ( as shown in the pictures ) The pishweari naan was lovely, but just very small. Perhaps there could be an option for boiled or pilau rice? I picked the food up right on time, but it seemed to have been ready for a good amount of time already, and the food was no longer warm as a result - perhaps the food can be kept under a heater while it is awaited to be collected? Overall, we had an good experience, but as I said before, I think we'll just stick to our usual place- not least to save the environment!
