McGinty's takeaway has a fantastic menu. As well as the usual chippy items and pizza there is a gluten free menu and a vegetarian menu. Gluten free and vegetarian have separate cooking areas and separate utensils and all the staff seem very well clued up on what they are doing. I can highly recommend the gluten free menu.

Delicious fish and chips, we also had haggis, pie and scampi they were all very nice and cooked fresh to order. If you are in Fortrose this is well worth a visit.

The young lad serving serving deserves 5* (wearing a white 11' t-shirt). Really friendly and polite and worked really hard with the orders The food not so much. Husband didn't enjoy his food and felt the oil used to cook the food left a funny taste.

Tried this for the first time in 3 years last night and since the new owners have come in.... WOW! Cracking food! Lovely friendly staff who double checked everything was bagged, unlike our experience with another local chip shop and a local curry spot too! Batter crispy yet light and not soggy at all, no oil residue in the bottom of the boxes. Fish was cooked perfectly and could tell it was very fresh! Chips are probably the best ive had out a chippy in a long time! Price was very resonable and portions excellent! Coleslaw and curry sauce were also highlights Loooooads of veggie and vegan options too which is brilliant to see, we will be back :)

For an evening visit to Chanory point for some dolphin watching you might get peckish and fancy something to fill that void. We tried McGintys chippy hoping for some really nice fish being next to the sea n all. Chips get a solid 8/10 and the fish 5/10. Batter was heavy and extremely greasy and fish was a bit rubbery/chewy tasting. My recommendation, just get some chips.

Great place with the best vegetarian/vegan options I've ever seen at a chippy. The deep-fried veggie black pudding was brilliant and the seaweed was a nice touch on the tofish.

Had fish chips x2 last week 3 star for fish,chips were frozen watched tall girl empty big bag frozen chips in bowl the take to girl who was frying as needed break and food still ordered ,when we got back to where we where staying chips where frozen in middle when I go to a chippy I expect fresh potatoes not frozen. Went to the Harbour fish shop in Avoch later in week beautiful fish and chips spot on .wouldn't go back to Fortrose chippy again.

Just had haddock & chips. Curry sauce. Beautiful & fresh with nice crispy batter. & (a wee sausage for our dogs free curiosity of the owner). Which we thought was a really nice thing to do... nice guy who served us. Would definitely use again & will certainly put same comment on caravan & camping site. Which by the way if you are a member & stay at Rosemarkie camping & caravan site in Fortrose you get 10% of your bill.. belly very full now time to sit back & wait for the dolphins to arrive... Happy days :)
