Went there quite few times now including yesterday, that was supposed to be our Christmas Dinner since we were working on a Christmas day, but sadly the festive menu was already finished. Ordered chicken wings, calamari. Mains were salmon, and sirloin steak. Not bad experience. Had to wait for service for a little longer than normal, but in overall it wasn't bad experience

As soon as we walked in we were pleasantly greeted and asked if we would like the wine menu and shown to our table and told who would be looking after us,The level of service we received was excellent especially our waiter Mathew who was very attentive but not intrusive like some other restaurants. The food we received was all cooked to perfection and the wait time between courses was just perfect. I can not think of anything that could have improved my experience.

I mean can we really say anything bad about Miller and Carter . Always a 5 star service and the food is always phenomenal. Banoffee pie dessert oh my days sensational, if I had to try pick one bad issue I’ve ever had at one of my visits is on one or two occasions had a chewy fat bit on my fillet steak which isn’t ideal. However it has always been one small area.

MILLER & CARTER STEAK HOUSE - GREAT STEAK! Having previously tried the Glasgow Miller & Carter, I got the chance to eat at this one. I found the interior and table settings smart and the service very good. The steaks and accompaniments we chose were superb. I had the 50 day matured filet mignon, my friend the 30 day matured rib-eye. The Miller and Carter reputation lives on! .

Oh what a lovely place to be for a meal. Ample car parking. The outdoors area is beautifully maintained. Staff very friendly and restaurant clean and efficient. The food is well presented and flavoursome, portions just right. A great time had by all. To be recommended.

Table service was good, we could have been told there was an extra charge for chunky chips but our server was very nice. Fillet was amazing and ditto for the beef dripping sauce. Rump steak was poor , very fatty and chewy. Not welcomed on entry and stood for a few minutes when staff could see us waiting.

This was my first visit to Miller and Carter at the Osprey and I’m delighted to give this establishment 5 well earned stars. From arrival at the restaurant we received excellent service from both the bar and restaurant staff. Our waiter “Graham” was very attentive and on the ball, which really made such a difference, he’s a real asset to Miller & Carter. The presentation and flavour of both courses were excellent, first time I’ve finished both courses in such a long time, mainly due to the presentation and the fact the atmosphere within the restaurant was relaxed and not rushed. Looking forward to a return visit ... Well done to ALL the team .....!!!!!

My husband is in a wheelchair and staff hurried to help us enter and find a seat at our table. We were meeting 4 friends and we were allowed plenty of time to choose our food which took some moments as we were busy chatting. The food was excellent. Portions not too large. Service was great.

The food was lovely but what we all commented on as a family was how wonderful our waitress was on the evening. She was so bubbly and friendly and just had a lovely way of interacting with her customers it really made the whole evening so much more enjoyable when excellent food is coupled with excellent service. We were served by Darren who was fantastic. Friendly and nothing was a problem for him. He was also very observant and we were never waiting long for our next drinks, second courses etc. My steak was a little overdone but it was replaced quickly and a complimentary lobster tail served with it. Couldn't have been happier. Only issues we had was my daughters sirloin had a lot of fat and the onion loaf was very hard and dry- not like how it used to be but not bad enough to complain about. Really enjoyed our visit overall and won't deter us from returning.

Was really good. Prices weren't that more expensive than other restaurants, but the standard was particularly higher. Our steaks came with an Onion Loaf which was a first time for both of us. They also catered to a coeliac / gluten intolerant really well with their own unique menu. The food was incredible. Sad point was the dead fly at the window we were sat at, but that's the circle of life I guess.

The greeting & service excellent as always. This is the 4th or 5th consecutive visit when my wife’s steak has been visibly undercooked, when ordered medium yet is totally deep red inside & barely warm - a real shame as this leads to it being returned to the kitchen & effectively her being served at different time to rest of us - also with no offer to replace her side dishes with fresh portions. I also had to return my chips as they were barely warm. Once everything was returned it was delicious as always, but not an entirely great experience this time, or the last few visits. Not normally one to complain but thought you would like to know.

It was a family meal to wish my son well as he is leaving to work abroad. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Minor issues, nothing major, but it did spoil my sons enjoyment slightly of his meal as he was brought his salad wedge after all the starters were cleared away and we were all waiting on our mains. He hadn’t fancied any of the starters and was hungry. Our mains didn’t come for about 10 minutes later. After our mains we were offered desert, but our order wasn’t taken for 15-20mins. Deserts and coffee came fairly soon after our order was taken. On balance it was an enjoyable evening.

Had a lovely meal at Newton Mearns branch. 1st time there as only been to the glasgow city centre one. It was so nice. Lovely atmosphere, very cosy and our waiter graham was very nice. Hubby had the fillet steak and I had the buttermilk chicken. Delicious!! Managed to squeeze in chocolate brownie.... we will definitely be back.

Where do I begin. I was told that this place was hit and miss. How wrong they were. From getting met at the door to leaving it was a great experience. Food 5 stars though a bit expensive but worth it. Service first class special mention to Darren who's a credit to the team there. The only down bit was a draught when the door kept getting open. 1st time visiting this venue. Been in the one in Glasgow which was so busy and I felt rushed. Here in the Newtonmearns one, the pace was slower, more welcoming and was spacious and airy. We were made so welcome. Our server was so friendly and helpful while we were making our food choices. My 20 day aged was to die for. No knife was required to cut this tender juicy piece of meat. Cant wait to return.

The 3 steak eaters really enjoyed their steaks. I'm not keen on steaks but struggled to find anything else that appealed. I had the veggie option of vegetable tarte tatin. I wouldn't recommend it. The pastry was very dry. In fact, the whole dish was very dry. The service was excellent. Ours server was very friendly, and nothing was too much bother.

Absolutely amazing, we visited the Miller and Carter for the first time ever and were most definitely impressed by the staff,the service and of course the food. It wasnt too busy when we went which was nice. We had starters of Calamari, nachos,sticky chipolates,&chicken wings, they were all absolutely delicious and were brought out and served to us less than 8 minutes after we ordered. Then main course we had 1 kids meal steak which she loved and it was a beautiful piece of half a rib eye ,there was no fat onit and she was filled eating that. The other meals were 2 12oz rib eye steaks med cooked,they were delicious, perfect pieces of meat with a great taste to them. Desserts were banoffee pie,cookies and ice cream and chocolate brownies all of which was a massive 10 out of 10 . The entire service was carried out by our lovely waitress whom I believes name was Niamh,she was one of the best waitresses iv ever had the pleasure of meeting,she really made our first ever experience at miller and carter so special and was so knowledgeable of the entire menu and helpful in guiding me to have the Nicest food for my own taste ,that I was very impressed by. Mobility wise it's great for all being mostly on one level with even flooring and direct access and parking close to the door. The seating is very comfortable. We will definitely be back.

Was taken here for a birthday meal by the fiancee and have to say well done to these guys, the meal was faultless and top value for money. Having been to the one in Glasgow City centre as well, they might be the same company but they are different restaurants in terms of ambiance, this one was much more cosy with a cottage type feel low ceilings and exposed bricks and beams etc. Quite cool actually. Again can't fault my steak but my fiancee had opted for their smoke and fire burger which was neither smokey nor fiery which she was a little disappointed at although she still enjoyed it. Staff were fantastic to be fair, as it was my birthday; unbeknownst to me they created a simple birthday gesture with my dessert at my fiancée's request which was a great touch. Although we didn't opt for the January special menu it was fantastic in terms of pricing. All in all a fabulous visit and meal topped off with great staff. Can't ask anymore of them than that.

Myself, my husband, my sister and her husband dined here tonight as it was my sisters birthday 🎂 First time any of us had been here. I was surprised how big it was inside, and it also had a large area outside for dining when the weather is good. I felt some of the tables were to close together. The staff were clean, tidy and very efficient 😊 The restaurant was also clean and tidy. To eat we had 2 x Sticky Chipotle Chicken, 2 x Beef Barbacoa Stuffed Yorkies for starters. Main courses were 1x Scotch Sirloin 8oz and 2 x 12 oz, with Onion Loaf, Tomato and Fries, and 1 x Butchers Burger, which was massive . Everyone enjoyed the food, it was really delicious and filling. Only 2 had dessert, 1 x Ban of fee Pie and 1 x Ice cream and cookie. The restaurant was busy but that didn't show as the food being turned out was fabulous. I would definitely reccomend this restaurant 👏👏

I'm not a big meat eater but my family love steak which is why we want here for a birthday dinner. I thought it was OK, had a cheese burger which to be honest was no thing special, families steaks were lovely and cooked perfectly, service was good though and never had to wait long for server to take our order and food was served quickly . we were told it was a place where you had to dress up and my daughter has been to Miller and Carter in the city centre many times and the dress code there is smart however we could have been in any pub for dinner . outside area is lovely and would be nice to sit out and eat.

The first place I visited with my family after restrictions were eased was Miller & Carter Newton Mearns, and it did not disappoint. It was such a novelty to be eating out together again, and we picked the perfect place to re-introduce us to restaurant-quality food. The burger, served with steak tails in the bun, was so succulent and the sweet potato fries were deliciously crispy. The mouthwatering side of truffle macaroni was the perfect accompaniment - I'd highly recommend ordering this! There was no lunchtime deal running when I visited, so it was a little on the expensive side, but we each enjoyed a quality meal. I will be back.

Went to Newton Mearns restaurant with my wife and daughter for dinner. Meals were fantastic and desserts too. Recomend 12oz Ribeye. Very impressed with the staff and especially the table service we got. Unfortunately can't remember girl's name but she deserved her tip. Great ambience and will definitely be back in near future.

Great food .. great staff .. great place . T bone steak was massive and cooked to perfection . Was worried as I like onion rings with my steak and they don't sell these .. there was no need to be as the onion loaf (comes with every steak ) was unbelievably good . 20 Oz tbone is not for the faint hearted ..its massive . Was cooked to perfection. Wedge salad was delish ..fries were perfect .. nacho starter was superb . all in all a class restaurant . Defo recommend for meat eaters 🐂

Starters of Sticky Chipotle Chicken, Barbecue Beef Croquettes and Baked Cheddar Mushrooms ( all 3 to be recommended) . I had the fish as a main, very light and tasty. 2 of our party shared the Butchers Block, all meat cooked to perfection. Not a scrap left on any plate. No dessert required, totally stuffed! However, as it was my daughter’s birthday we were delighted with her surprise ‘Happy Birthday’ plate with 3 profiteroles- lovely touch. I have obviously missed the hype of Miller & Carter. The family visited with high expectations as it came highly recommended including by hubby, as a birthday treat. I really don't get the wedge idea, a bowl of iceberg lettuce. Not sure the point of that. The chips were very mediocre. The rest of the fam enjoyed the steak but I opted for salmon as I had always wanted to try restaurant quality salmon. I was pretty disappointed. Two or three smashed baby potatoes with a sprig of something and a fillet of salmon, the same I could buy in Tesco for a couple of quid. A quarter of the plate had the food, another quarter had the mini pan of sauce leaving half the empty plate. Very underwhelming. Service was adequate though felt a bit rushed and not relaxing. The place to go for classic steak and chips - maybe not.

We visited here recently for a special family dinner. We have been regulars of this Miller and Carter since it opened but haven't been since the covid 19 started. I just felt that the whole ambience of the place has gone a little downhill. The décor looks a bit tired and dark and my husband used the gents toilets and said they were absolutely disgusting - The staff are however always lovely, particularly our server Matthew who was friendly and attentive. The onion loaf you get with the steak is an oily hard mess and unfortunately I feel it is now overpriced as it is lacking that special dining experience that it used to be.

It was a Thursday night so we ordered from their "dates and steaks" menu, which is 3 courses for £26. The food was cooked perfectly as we ordered it (my steak medium rare, my partners medium) and the sides were very generous. Service was very quick, our mains arrived while the waiter taking away our plates from our starter was still on his way back to the kitchen, and all through the meal they were attentive without being overbearing. Overall, we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and we will definitely be back.

Went straight for mains. The meals were delivered in a timely fashion which was good considering how busy the restaurant was. The steaks were cooked exactly as ordered and were very tasty. The sides ordered to accompany the mains were also cooked to perfection. 1st time here we usually go to the City Centre restaurant but would highly recommend Miller & Carter Newton Mearns, staff very welcoming, attentive and knowledgeable of dishes and drinks alike, there were 4 of us mum, daughter, son in law and grandson and all our meals were lovely.

4th visit to this branch now and I find it very hit or miss. Today ordered my fillet med well and when it came the blood ran out as soon as i cut it. I bitterflied the steak to show the server and it was taken back to the kitchen. After 5/6 minutes i got my fresh plate with my steak this time no blood. In between times my sides were left so my potato got a little cool. Twice we had to order a lemonade and a diet coke after waiting 15 mins each time and the drink still not appearing!! This is convenient for us as there is a huge car park however they really need to up their game. In future will pay city centre parking prices as the branch in town is far superior and staff much more attentive.

Another great meal here. The Rioja was ok but not as good as it could possibly be. 12oz Rib eye and 8oz Corn feed Ribeye were great choices. Desserts are always a winner. Remember to book or you may have to wait a little time.
