Reviews of Saint Luke's & The Winged Ox
P. M.
Another great meal and drinks at Saint Luke's. We have now been here a few times for food and it never disappoints. This time we just wanted a quick dinner and drink before going out in town. I had burger and chips washed down with a nice cold pint of Corona. The food tasted great, was a good portion size and at a good price. There was live music playing which gave the bar a good vibe. 10 out of 10 for the serving staff, food and entertainment. Ps this place is child and dog friendly too 😁🍻☀️

Saint Luke's & The Winged Ox
This place is magical. Great atmosphere and excellent food.
I got the wings and the burger. The wings was boneless and very juicy. And the garlic-mayo dip was made for gods.
Burger on the other hand was so juicy and tasty. And the frites were pretty good too.
Staff really friendly and helpful.
M. E.
First time at The Winged Ox for food & Saint Lukes to see Pork Pie.
The food was really nice and staff were pleasant and helpful.
Had the 10 boneless chicken Wings (Boneless Angel Wings) & Battered Pickles to start. Both were very nice, and would recommend either. I had the double winged ox burger. Very large burger. In the top 5 burgers I've had. The fries were really nice and crisp. Partner had the Sticky BBQ Ribs. The image doesn't do the size of the rack any justice. There was no complaining about the amount of meat on the bones. She said they were superb. Overall very good value and both of us were absolutely stuffed.
The gig in Saint Lukes was really good. Nice atmosphere & Pork Pie were really good as usual.
Can't wait to come back.
N. K.
Never been before. But really enjoyed it. Nice atmosphere, small bar but they stock a big variety of different drinks.
Interesting decor. A mixture of very old items that you wouldn't normally expect to find in a pub. Some potentially quite valuable.
J. C.
Dropped in for Saturday lunch, and it was great! Food was good, the staff were super friendly and accommodated a dietary requirement with ease. The restaurant was laid back, had football on but wasn't rowdy. Great vibe highly recommend
P. C.
Excellent bar round the corner from the Barrowland. The staff were excellent and couldn’t fault them. Really pleased that we walked out of the city centre to find this.
H. R.
Went for a drink and a concert. Small, interesting venue with a good crowd and nice food and drink options while we waited for the show to start. Inexpensive but a lot of fun for a night out.
R. S.
What a gorgeous venue and bar. The house lager is Gluten Free which is perfect for my coeliac needs! The bar space is comfy and quirky with all sorts of interesting decor and a nice wee beer garden on the side. Didn't try the food but it certainly looked good! As for the music venue on the side, it's beautiful. Pipe organ and stained glass windows with a glorious wooden floor. It all sounded fantastic, Rhianne Downey was brilliant and sounded just pitch perfect on stage and every instrument came through evenly. Only drawback was a cash bar so if you want to pay by card you need to head all the way back to the main bar and bring you drink back through. I'd recommend grabbing some cash before you head down! Glasgow has so many ace little venues and this is one of the best!

Popped in on Sunday for food. And it was great! The food was fab and the service was great as well. Will definitely be going back soon!
A. M.
A unique looking venue! Sound, beer selection and food is all great. Thought I'd attach a photo of the ridiculous portion of nachos I got...and yes, I finished them.
C. M.
I can't say anything about the food but the music venue was great. It had a brilliant atmosphere and a nice selection of drinks. The capacity is pretty big with a section to watch from upstairs as well. The bar staff were nice and polite too. I'll definitely be back for gigs in the future if anyone else I follow is to play there.

I was on holiday in Glasgow mid week and wandered in by myself and I’m so glad that I did, the food was insane and the service was so good. I accidentally ordered something that wasn’t gluten-free and they changed it for me without charge and the replacement was delicious. Loved the venue, loved the music lots of great beers (even gluten-free for me) and nice toilets too ha. I was only sorry that I couldn’t stay longer and that it wasn’t for a gig. I will 100% come back - the ribs were so good and so big I took some home on the train to go and they were even better the next day. Definitely hit it up.
D. “.
Great pub to bring the dog. The foods really good if you like American style diner food. Great selection of drinks too.
A. B.
The service was great but personally I was not enamoured by the menu. There was no problem with the cooking or the service. We were impressed by the waiting staff and some things we wanted were actually anticipated by the staff. For example, they brought more water when they saw our jug was empty. I would definitely eat there again if the menu was tweaked a little.
C. B.
Was here for a concert, went in for drinks beforehand, this place is amazing and very friendly staff
F. D.
Brilliant food and gig venue!
UPDATE - we booked our wedding for Saint Luke's and had it on 26th June 2022. It was an absolutely incredible day and our guests loved the venue, food and customer service. Alyson, the wedding coordinator, was incredible and her attention to detail made the day run like clockwork. All staff are super friendly and approachable. Thank you!

Updated review: I’ve now been to St Luke’s several times for drinks, food and gigs. The food is always great and the atmosphere is amazing, with good music choices. Well worth a visit - it’s got a great character.
——————————————
I’ve been to St Luke’s a few times - The Winged Ox is usually busy and it’s got some interesting decor so there’s a nice atmosphere. Great place for dog-spotting!
The food is decent but a bit overpriced - I paid £14 for 2 small baskets of sweet potato fries and small nachos.
There’s a good selection of craft beers and spirits - my only moan would be that I think I was served a gin and soda water last night...however, it’s on me that I was too lazy to go back up and alert the staff!
The Winged Ox is decent for a gig but you might struggle to see if you’re standing at the back. It can get quite messy with glasses and cups around, as the gig progresses. It’s a no frills place.

Usually, I go to St. Lukes for gigs and it is possibly one of my favourite venues in Glasgow. But recently I attended their restaurant with the friend who was visiting Glasgow and found one of the best hospitality experiences in years. Super friendly staff, great food and beer offer, staff was very enthusiastic and open to create cocktail, which was not on the menu. Thank you and keep it up!
v. r.
Cool bar and restaurant, great food and fab atmosphere. Also a beautiful venue for gigs. This place is a gem.
L. B.
Great food and really attentive staff, I left my card in my seat and the blonde hostess made sure it came back to me on a busy gig night. Top venue
B. B.
Fantastic venue we arrived half an hour before the Ruts DC came on in the main venue hall.
Went into the bar for a couple of beers and was impressed by lots of places to sit and the world cup was snowing on big screens you can also get food although we didn't have anything to eat.
Very good evening will be back 👍
K. B.
Great food and big portion sizes, staff very nice and we’re never rushed becoming a regular now / Rolo loves the doggie menu
g. j. f.
Excellent venue for ALL THEM WITCHES really great sound and very good staff graeme
S. B.
Went with friends to see a gig, Johnny Mac & The Faithful. Decent size venue. Organisers were great, arranged a few seat... Staff were great, too ! Prices for drinks, not too bad for a city venue, considering.... Recommended ! ☆☆☆☆☆
D. J.
A local favourite. Great Covid rules in place. Felt very comfortable. Staff are amazing as always.
No food this time just drinks. Good selection of Scottish beer including their house lager.
The food is great though, although bring a spare stomach as the portions are huge.
D. C.
Excellent venue and awesome people. If you see someone you like is playing there, go. If not, just check the bar out. Food's good too. All round a most excellent place to visit.
P. G.
Has a Rock/ alternative vibe. Great music, slightly dark/clubby décor. Really enjoyed our meals, super friendly staff. Definitely have the steak sandwich! A little bit off the beaten track for obvious dining locations but all the better for it and well worth seeking out.
D. B.
Came to see Dave Archibald who out on a fantastic show.
Absolutely great venue for small intimate gigs.
Back for a meal, menu may not be extensive but the food is brilliant. Served in nice surroundings with a great atmosphere. Bonus having someone playing guiand singing
Well worth a visit.
J. L.
Came for a gig. Needed food after a 3 hr drive, and had the Ox Burger and a pint. It was quite magnificent and very reasonably priced. Very friendly staff too.
Highly recommended
C. H.
1st time visit for my daughter, our little puppy & myself today. Definitely would recommend to family/ friends, food was delicious & staff very helpful & friendly. Our little pup was made to feel very welcome ( which pleased him totally)😄 the chicken we ordered for him he devoured. Defo will be back soon.
M. L.
First time in the venue and a new wheelchair user. Aiden the steward helped me so much and out me at ease throughout... A great venue and will definitely be back. I booked reserved disabled seating area and we were front row.
M. K.
Popular pub with converted church hall used as a live music venue next door. I paid to see a band there not realising that there is only standing there. No seating for a two hour performance at £30 a ticker. When your 70 yrs old, that’s not ideal
I. d.
We went to attend a concert here ie Durand Jones and the Indications. We had a meal beforehand and it was superb. It catered well for my sons gluten free condition and the staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient and the concert afterwards was absolutely fantastic
I. M.
At the venue for Samantha Fish gig. Sound excellent, venue well organised do very happy. But you have got to see Sam live, she is an amazing talent.
D. T.
Was here for drinks and a gig,all them witches but have eaten here in the past the gig side of things it's a great venue and sound was excellent. Staff very professional and helpful. Great eat and drink options covers most requirements
I. H.
First time at Saint Luke's,to see Porridge Radio and really enjoyed the experience. Only downside was cash only at the bar. Had to go to the adjoining bar next door, buy a beer and get cashback.
D. R.
Table service top notch. Staff were great throughout and nothing was a bother. Good music but not too loud.
K.
Comfy, contemporary, relaxed and different. Friendly service and a great meal on the edge of the city centre near The Barras. No parking problems, either.
B. J.
We had a great Christmas night out here on the 2nd December. Table service was prompt and I think the prices were reasonable. I didn't get to try any of their food.
L. M.
Went to see Altered Images who were great. Ideal venue. Not too big. Great sound. Would go back.
M. D.
Great place to eat and relax afterwards within the outdoor heated area which is a fantastic idea . Food was tasty and fresh..
R. C.
I was there for a concert. Had a beer and food which was very good. Staff really friendly and helpful. Really stained glass windows behind the stage and an organ too, complete with pipes, no idea if that still functions. Good venue and I'd go back again.
j. M.
I was at my friend's wedding and the place was great.
M.
Second favourite music venue in Glasgow. Unique main room, that sounds great when the right band is booked!
M. D.
Our first gig at Saint Luke's. Good atmosphere and lovely staff. Brilliant Berrie Big Band.
R. R.
Great venue and bar . I was there for the big band concert which was excellent ..
Visited the bar after the concert . Great atmosphere and service
L. W.
Good selection of beers and cocktails, friendly staff and nice food. Also dog friendly which is great.
P. G.
Great live venue. Lovely old converted church. Great sound.Atmosphere cracking. Warm, friendly. Next-door bar Ox &:Finch was rammed ! Foodc& drinks.Outdoor seating on a sunny night, smashing. Highly recommended. Loved it.
P. B.
Fabby gaff a stones from the Barras.
Always mobbed so would advise to book ahead.
Unbelievably dog friendly so no worries about bringing your little ones along.
Extensive menu packed with heaps of options and veggies ones too.
Live music, big screen TVs showing sports (without sound 👍🏼).
Definitely worth a visit.
A. M.
Great place, would recommend booking to ensure you get a table
A. M.
New menu is great. They are really cool with dogs and good pint of Guinness.
E. T.
Great atmosphere, quality burgers and kid friendly. Staff were attentive and helpful. Will be returning.
s. M.
Great pub and venue for a gig 👌 shame the bar for the gig was cash only and the closest ATM you had to pay for cash withdrawals, but will just remember that for next time! Didn't try the food but it looked delicious when the servers went past us! Could have spent hours looking at all the decor 😊
E. S.
Quick service and tasty food. Quirky interior between a 50s American diner and a punk/rock pub.
Had burger and beer outside, table was sticky and a bit unstable
T. G.
Great food, great staff and dog friendly. What more could you ask for?
M. M.
Great food for sharing on the table, decent draught beer selection and friendly staff. Dog friendly as well for those going a wander with the dog.
L. B.
Good food good atmosphere. Open mike night with some really good singers. Will be back.
G. M.
First visit today, will definitely not be the last. Staff, service & food are fantastic. I was there with family including a toddler & a puppy. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommend a visit here.
F.
Reasonably priced drinks for a Glasgow venue! Good bar to chill in before the show & everyone was friendly enough! Bit in the small side in the bar. Venue itself was goood for the performance I was at.
P. D.
Live singer on Friday night really enjoyed the whole experience. Food and service were great 👍.
C. P.
Intimate venue, good acoustics and decent view of stage from back as per attached photo. Small entrance so were a bit slow getting audience in. Best be there for doors opening to guarantee catching support acts.
A. B.
Great food, great staff ,best spicy bloody Mary I have tasted in a long time.
G.
Had the ox heart, it was sliced thinly and grilled deliciously. The Welsh rarebit was good too.
T. B.
Food was really good but was a bit too loud. Was afternoon on Sunday and there was live performance on and this was too loud to allow conversation around the table as was the non live music in-between.
I. M.
First visit, friends recommendation, enjoyed some good food served by very friendly and attentive staff, I quickly realised that it's a dog friendly establishment but I was a bit surprised at the number of dogs that came in while I was there, they were all fairly well behaved but just something to consider if you're planning a visit
G.
Redeveloped Church with adjoining restaurant. Large church organ still in place behind the stage. Whole standing audience in close proximity to the band. Cash only at the gig cars. Apparently card can be used in the diner bar next door. I only visited the gig venue.
a. m.
Third time here , service spot on,food and drink choices varied and great quality , great atmosphere with singletons, couples, friends, families, kids and dogs all welcome , definitely a nice place to spend an afternoon
P. S.
Very nice food staff really pleasant nice inside had really great night
M. N.
Fun little pub! We went there for lunch— food was great, staff was excellent despite being busy, and had a great vibe.
C. H.
Had a lovely pizza and my partner had the biggest rack of ribs. We had a lovely time. Staff were great and accomadating and it was nice to see the owner fussing over an older group to ensure they were comfortable outside.
Fantastic love this place. Can't wait to start coming Sundays with my granny again. Big shout out to being dog friendly met a beautiful wee frenchie today.
Great tea and my hot chocolate + bailey's was tasty and fair heated me up sitting outside in the Glasgow weather.
I. K.
Great venue for a gig. Take paper folding money though as, hard to believe in this day and age, the bars in the venue are still cash only.
C. B.
Great place all around. Nice room, nice drinks, friendly staff. Highly recommended. Too bad we didn't catch a band playing there.
c. b.
Great food, no space inside, but plenty outside and the staff kindly put the overhead heater on for me, without me having to ask.
8. w.
Have you been here? No, no I haven't...
Omg that was amazing! The food and the pints?, no the man flying on the bike while he pet's a dog
E. s.
Awesome venue, tasty beer food and good atmosphere - thoroughly recommend coming here when visiting Glasgow
H. L.
Great environment. Friendly staff, great food and live music plus very dog friendly
J. M.
Eaten here a few times and never disappoints. Also one of the best breakfasts I've ever had!
c. r.
Such a great music venue & welcoming bar.
- Events space is within the old church, stained glass and all.
- Bar has a relaxed feel, with a good selection.
- Dog friendly.
* Will be back & would recommend *
S.
Great venue, been to a few gigs here in the past. The last two were The Paper Kites and Talisk. The sound is awesome, the atmosphere is great. One issue I have and it is a bit petty is....the bar in the gig venue doesn't take card, cash only....so you need to go next door to get a drink which takes card. It's really not that much of an issue as it's literally a 30sec walk n probably less of a queue but nonetheless I recon they should both accept card.
M. B.
There for a gig. Brilliant intimate venue for a gig, fantastic sound and looks beautiful. Didn't eat there so can't comment.
L. S.
Food was good and nice feel. Angel wings were a bit tasteless but the mac n cheese and loaded fries were brilliant
M. J.
Possibly the best venue for live music i have ever been in. Amazing night!
S. r.
Old church building at the edge of the barras. Nice big room, the old church hall that has a large screen and or stage area. Second room with bench seating and booths to the side of the large room that is a more traditional bar. Food selection of beer on tap at reasonable pricing. Good atmosphere. There is a small outside area of the weather is nice...
M. S.
Wow, what a venue. Fantastic place for any band to play. Even better for the audience. Great sound system aswell.
A. S.
First visit, great atmosphere, food, service, staff and music 😊
I wouldn’t hesitate to go back👍🏻
T. M.
Great intimate gig venue x staff were very helpful with my friend who has limited mobility and the bar staff were great even though they were very busy x
F.
Went to see the wandering hearts here. It was a great experience. The sound from the stage was cristal clear. It was a large spacious room with 2 bars and friendly staff. I parked across from the hall at the barrowlands. There was plenty of parking spaces. Round and about the hall.
C. H.
Friend required Disabled access. Staff outstanding. Food always varied. Great place for meeting parking good nearby
D. S.
Great service and food. Great atmosphere before and after gigs.
L. R. G.
Love this place!! This is a cracking old church which has been converted into the prefect haunt for folk to chill and enjoy a wide selection of craft ales, beers, a great selection of spirits either in their covered beer garden, their venue or bar/restaurant areas AND they serve scrumptious food. Best Mac'N'Cheese in town, by far!! 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️'s from me! 🤜🏼🤛🏼
T. M.
Great gig venue and really nice beer, will try the food next time.
A. G.
Went to this venue for a gig, unfortunately didn't get the chance to try the winged ox for food but will definitely go back for that. The stand out bits from this venue were the sound and beauty of the converted church.. it was an acoustic gig and the sound was just fantastic!! Easily accessible and great parking surrounding the area.
S. C.
Old converted church that is now a pretty decent bar. Serves food too, has a distinct American vibe to it and serves blue ribbon on tap.
S. L.
Great place for a gig and a lovely dining experience with friendly and helpful staff
h. r.
Good menu, great place to eat and catch up with friends before and after a gig
G. W.
Yes good place for live music staff were polite and can not fault keep up the good work
J.
This places never fails to disappoint. So relaxed and the food is outstanding. Elvis juice on tap is a god send! Staff are so attentive. I love it here!
A. N.
Great atmosphere, staff were friendly, concert sounded brilliant
H. A.
Just back from having great food and drinks at St Luke s .Friendly staff good service will be back again soon 👍
A. F.
Great food as always and very accomodating for a pram. Love that it's dog friendly.
D. K.
Fantastic venue, with a spacious pub are possibly also serving food. Exclusively visited the stage area for a gig. The audience was in the main floor area with overhang terrace that might be open for other shows. The venue is equipped with a cloak room for safekeeping and the high seelings make it feel like a quaint yet spacious place.
B. B.
First time going here after being bought tickets from a family member to see ‘The Sherlocks’.
Was getting lost trying to find the place but would've been easier if I knew it was "just past the Barras on the right".
Security staff were the friendliest I've ever come across in a venue. Warm and welcoming.
Venue itself was smaller than I expected after seeing pictures online but it's fantastic. Sound was some of the best I've heard in Glasgow, spot on. Bars available at the back but cash only which was disappointing - no signage walking in like at the Barras. I nipped out to get cash from a nearby cash machine that a member of staff directed me to and was able to get back in easily afterwards due to our hands being stamped during entry and a wristband given after providing ID allowing you to buy alcohol, but I didn't know there was a proper bar right next to the main 'venue' room (accessible via the side next to the toilets) which took card and has a larger selection of drinks as long as you ask for a plastic cup (I didn't use this bar though). Some signposts would've been nice as this isn't obvious for a first-timer. Bar staff were really friendly and prices reasonable for a venue (£4 for a pint of Tennents, can't knock that).
The actual bar part is really cool, well decorated and had a great solo acoustic act playing. Food smelt great so would love to try it in the future. Nice walled patio beer garden/smoking area also.
Toilets were clean and of good standard.
Really enjoyed my visit and will be much more likely to buy tickets if a band I like are playing at this venue, it's cracking!
M. B.
Seen The Byson Family at this venue, really good little venue for live music
G. D.
Staff were very helpful and attentive. The food was lovely and the cocktails were superb. We went to a gig after dinner. Small venue but great atmosphere although it was very warm in the hall. Highly recommended for a meal and is
also dig friendly. Will definitely 💯 be back.
a. R.
Came for lunch on a Sunday and was really happy with the service, great live guitar also !!
T. A.
Really enjoyed the pizza I had here. Fun, lively atmosphere.
C. T.
This is a music venue review.
This is a really great venue, retaining all of the church's features, field of view design for balcony seats, and accessibility.
From upstairs, the acoustics are generally great, but certain mid-range frequencies can disappear, leaving a confused sound, that expects bass to guide the root of chords, but it seems mostly lost in the sound.
From downstairs, it's fantastic!
I love this venue, even from my first gig, which was the incredible The Pineapple Thief, and I recommend you just brace yourselves, and stand, rather than succumb to the false comfort of pews, for what you 'might' lose in audio quality.
c. m.
Awesome place near the barras in glasgow. Would drop in and have a look if youve got the time. Live music most Thursdays.
J. B.
Good rum. Good band. Many thanks to the staff for reserved seats. Getting old.
P. G.
Great venue, great atmosphere, great night out,Macy Gray concert brilliant...
b. h.
One of the best venues for live music in Glasgow.
What was an old church has been converted into a venue for live music, the acoustics are really incredible.
Also next door has a bar which serves food with vegetarian options. All local IPAs and lagers on offer are really outstanding.
D. M.
Went for dinner at the Winged Ox before a gig at St. Lukes. The food was good quality pub food with a few interesting twists and extras. The selection of beers wasn't bad either. The atmosphere is relaxed and it attracts an alternative crowd. St. Lukes as a venue is excellent. The church setting is dramatic as well as stunning due to the stained glass windows, and the excellent acoustics of the structure compliments the visual grandeur well.
A. C.
Flat iron steak meal was delish. Good service, staff helpful and friendly. Defo be back
C. A.
Went for a meal before seeing berrie big band in the main hall! Food was awesome and berrie big band were fantastic
m. G.
Great venue, acoustics are good
M. K.
Loved this place. Quirky, comfy and staff so friendly. Brisket beef chilli amazing as was the nachos. Would highly recommended.
A. C.
Excellent menu and great service. Far too many fries!
M. R.
massive portions of delicious food. the fried pickles and ranch dressing are great! staff always friendly. dogs are welcome too. can get loud but it's a music venue so if noise is an issue you get a table in the covered outdoors area which is great.
W. G.

R. G.
Always love this place. The food is great, dogs are welcome and the venue is stunning for gigs.
H. K.
One of the best mac and cheese and sour dough bread I have had in Glasgow! Definitely worth a visit 😊
B. M.
Here for a gig, not for drink or food. Excellent Blanco White, great small venue and with it being a converted church the acoustics are awesome. For a change no chatting through the concert.
J. P.
Converted church with a cracking atmosphere. Busy on a post football Saturday afternoon. Not too expensive and range at the bar decent.
K.
Good food and drink, some of the cocktails are fab. And what can you say about the venue space? Stunning converted church with an amazing sound and atmosphere.
J. R.
Amazing and intimate music venue. Decent bar prices and friendly staff. Great views from all seats and the bar in the restaurant lets you pay with a credit/debit card for drinks.
K. R.
We saw Tidelines here as part of celtic connections, the building is an old church which has been adapted into a music venue. It had really good acoustics and suited being a gig venue. It looked like it had been well adapted for anyone with mobility issues. The two bar areas at the back delt well with the crowd and the selection on offer in the winged Ox after the gig was fantastic.
G. C.
Outstanding lunch spot. Great vibe, great beers and cocktails - chicken burger is a must try and same for the bean burger my girlfriend rated very highly.

Fabulous place inside with some very good quality tunes in the background.. it is a place you feel like home but on another level.. massive covered heated garden and outdoor space with a huge function room in a traditional stone building . This is adding another dimension to your might out you can easily feel you are in Italy and not Glasgow... toilets ...there is plenty and they are clean and sanitised well... food is excellent and filling with generous portions of snacks finger bites that go well with all lagers and locally brewed IPA s... cocktail menu is big and tried them all... very good indeed. Another level altogether
B. C.
Been here several times for food and drink as well as events; food and service is consistently brilliant and there's always a good atmosphere.
Ordered food from The Winged Ox via a third party app last night and the driver was an absolute nightmare which was obviously nothing to do with the restaurant but when I contacted them to see if there was anything they could do as the courier had been no use, they went above and beyond to help out. Despite the fact that they were busy, I was kept up-to-date by management who contacted the courier too and ensured that our food was freshly cooked for delivery. Food was amazing as always and I'm so impressed by the top quality friendly service provided by staff and management!
Thank you so much again, can't wait to be back.

Beautiful food and helpful staff, will go again

Attended a concert by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Part of performance was Steve Reich composition.
R. M.
Beautiful venue that crested the perfect atmosphere for Mono playing their Glasgow gig.
J. M.
Didn't eat....was there for jazz during Glasgow Jazz Festival. Venue is fabulous. Staff were excellent!
n. r.
Pop in yesterday with my friend and two kids for lunch. I was really impressed with the look inside. Staff so friendly the food amazing i had a tasty club sandwich and the kids pizza was homemade and enormous such value for money. 4 happy customers will be back minus the kids to have lunch\dinner real soon.
A. B.
Was an excellent night, atmosphere was brilliant definitely go back.x
M. F.
Really nice venue with some really great staff., but totally let down by half the menu being unavailable the night we went. The food we did get was really good though. Never got the drinks we ordered with our meal despite chasing them up, and a service charge automatically added on the bill- if I want to leave a tip (which I normally do) I'll decide how much it will be, not the venue.
N. R.
Popped in for food and drinks before going to a gig. Food was good, just what we were looking for with a couple of beers. Live music was great and the staff and service were excellent.
S. P.
Went to see " Genesis Visible Touch "
Great Gig, Great Venue.
C. W.
A really special venue. If you're thinking of going to a concert here I recommend it. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
E. P.
Fantastic venue, great food, beer, atmosphere and music.
E. M.
Great atmosphere. Amazing food. Polite and friendly staff. Keep up the good work
E. C.
Brilliant place for dinner and drinks. I love how even with COVID, they still have a great menu selection for food & drinks. Staff are super friendly & accommodating most of the time. Fish & Chips from here was phenomenal, and the White Russians are bloody beautiful too. Very lucky to have this place as a local!
I. B.
Really tasty food, big portions. It took quite a long time for our food to arrive, but there was a large party in.
A. S.
Although I've been in for food before, this was my first gig in here.
Really great sound and pleasant staff. The band were amazing but that was never in doubt. Cool wee night.
C. A.
Brilliant, staff are friendly and helpful. Food is always very very tasty. Great place to take dogs, ours loves the dog friendly menu.
W. F.
Excellent place for a gig, small enough to have a great atmosphere, large enough to attract great bands, the pub next door is also excellent good selection of food and drinks
m. m.
Lovely day for kids and adults everyone so friendly and helpful
W. W.
Lovely staff, unique range of beverages, the venue supports local artists and causes, dog-friendly, generally just a very cool place to be
S. D.
Saw Macy Grey on Friday and it was amazing had food first which was lovely staff friendly and efficient even though the place was busy, great venue will definitely be back
R. L.
Great food, fantastic atmosphere and staff were very pleasant and friendly.
v. f.
We had a great we night here had some drinks food is great. Staff welcoming. We went to see (Scheme,). Been here a few times. Would recommend a visit and dogs are welcome through the day. Go check it out 🎶🍻🍹💕⭐
C. D.
Good atmosphere. Great playlists. Great quality food. Lovely staff. The only complaint was that we were rushed out the door (lunchtime) and crammed onto a 2 seater (there were 3 of us) when there was a booth available
D. M.
Excellent music venue, really good sound and a couple of bars so there wasn't much queuing for a drink.
S. G.
This venue is great for music events, bijou, great staff and facilities. I haven't tried the food but I am sure it's great also 😆
I. B.
Funky place, well staffed, great decor reasonably priced, popular, good music, fantastic venue
J. O.
Brilliant 👏staff can't do enough for you.will be recommending it to friends.. first time wee have seen each other in 30 year...
M. G.
Brilliant , waited a while for food but it was really busy and the food was great
G. L.
Really enjoyed the food here. Best nachos ever. And deep fried pickles mmmm
T. L.
Brilliant venue, Eat first next door.
Great menu, and very reasonable for the quality!! Happy customer😃👍👍
R. H.
Great atmosphere for a concert, parliamo were brilliant
J. S.
Been there couple of times and always enjoyed it and complement good beer selection. This time evening was ruined by member of staff simply coming over and taking all our beers saying they're closing. Tables around us being left alright to finish no problem, no one came over to swipe their tables away, and he basically took a full glass of my hand, it's just not right to be treated like that. All he should do is come over and say "guys we have to close now finish your drinks please" that's all, I'm not asking for much. I work in hospitality and that just shows lack of respect for the customers. We won't be coming back.
S.
First times visiting this place for a concert brilliant atmosphere @ you can get something to eat next door before gig. Would definitely return again.
A. M.
Great food, staff very attentive, worked hard to ensure that my party had a good experience, and really it all worked well not one moan from any of my party about the food or service. Will defo be happy to visit again.. the ribs were amazing... nearly had me licking my plate. Well done Saint luke.
t. n.
Awesome concert venue and bar with the most fantastic burgers. Well behaved dogs are welcome and it is a regular stop for our family when in that part of town.
J. C.
Gregory Alan isakov gig was great and venue for sure helped.
M. O.
What a venue. First time here but would 10 out of 10 recommend. Looking forward to my next visit.
L. t.
Beautiful place for a gig this. Mid size venue with seating upstairs and no pillars to obscure your view either. Great sound too. Parking hasn't been a problem as lots of areas to put your car but on busy nights get there early. Never sampled the restaurant or bar so can't comment on those.
R. C.
Really nice staff and great food. Very pleasant jocular and effervescent atmosphere.
M. M.
Loved my visit here so intimate and up close there's even an upstairs to get a better view of the performers plus bar food and choice of drinks were top notch and even sky sports what a venue
H. H.
Grand pub. Excellent for a night out and as a venue for events 😊
R. R.
Friendly service and nice decor would go again .
L. L.
Honestly had the most delicious sandwich of my life here.
T. D.
We went to see will young in concert here quite a compact venue but good viewing. Also had a restaurant bar attached to it. We had a nice meal there while we waited for the Venue to start. 10/10.
B. P.
Went at the tail end of Eat out to Help out for dinner with friends. Requested an outside seat and they were very accommodating. Excellent American style food (the fried pickles went down a treat) at reasonable prices - double so with EO2HO. Staff friendly, attentive but not overbearing
D. M.
Right next to the world famous Barrowland this venue is perfect for smaller gigs and Kyle Falconer is bringing his live show up a notch every time I have the pleasure of seeing him. Highly recommend St. Luke's and highly recommend seeing Kyle Falconer live !!! (PS the pic is not from the St. Luke's gig but it is Kyle).
k. B.
Everything SUPERB in this place x 10 out of 10 .... excellent choice of beers x
Staff very friendly and attentive !
Can't wait to go back !
z.
Nice pub, great staff, warm place. One should also try the Sunday roast too.
N. O. B. C.
Tenement Trail Festival was splendid...!! Great venues both...!!
d. m.
This was our first visit here. We were 7 of us including a 4 year old who loved it. Good atmosphere with excellent value food and very friendly staff will definitely come back.
W. S.
Went to see Rob Bell really enjoyed it
Really nice inside, stiff has old church vibe
E. T.
Brilliant gig venue. Intimate environment in gorgeous old church and reasonable bar prices. My favourite venue in Glasgow
A. M.
Love this place. Good music, good grub & good times. Staff are very attentive and can't think of a time my glass has been left empty for long. Never begrudge leaving a healthy tip. The live venue looks simply spectacular and has great acoustics. The stained glass windows behind the stage provide an amazing backdrop. The menu is pub classics but good quality without breaking the bank. Would always advise booking for food.
C. J. A.
Fantastic venue with brilliant sound. Been on the stage and off it, the experience is amazing. Another brilliant Glasgow venue.
S. B.
We attended a concert at the venue. Staff very attentive and friendly. We only had drinks. The toilets were clean and tidy.
G. D.
Great service from the team last night. Chilli natchos were amazing. Lovely setting, spacious and dog friendly. Wish I had known about the window booths- will book one next time. On street parking was free after 6pm.
N. W. F.
The food, service and atmosphere were tremendous. Dog friendly and sports on the big screens. Well worth it.
B. M.
Great pub. Usually go after a walk in Glasgow green.
Appreciate that they have a little outdoor bit for smokers / good weather. It’s sheltered and has a heater.
Friendly staff (quite a few of them), usually a nice seemingly mature crowd.
Have seen sports on the screens occasionally. They also have lots of live music nights - but I’ve not been to one of these.
Not eaten here yet, but I do mean to.
H. O.
Good food and very attentive staff
D. M.
Great venue for live music. The food looks fantastic and great selection of beers
J. Q.
A vibrant little venue nice food well priced drinks are decently priced to , best to book if you want a table.
Sports are available to watch if desired.
They are dog friendly and there's always a hi from the staff.
They also have a venue for various bands or acts slightly desperate from the bar area.
It's right at the Glasgow Barras if you fancy a browse around before your meal or beverage.
V. M.
Haven't been in a place this cool for many years. My 10 year old picked it cos we could bring the pup and the atmosphere is amazing as is the service the food and the music. An easy relaxed evening with alot of beautifully sang songs you'll know and a menu for your furry family members.
A. M.
Me and my other half love this place. The food is magic and we really love the atmosphere, especially on the winter nights it's so cosy and the lighting is perfect with lots of candles, and in the summer there's a nice beer garden to sit in. The staff can't do enough without being over attentive. The deep fried pickles are amazing. One thing we're disappointed about though is they've taken the deep fried pork belly off the menu which was one of our favourites. You really need to book ahead for food as it is very busy (quite rightly so as the food has always been great in our experience) would definitely recommend.
A. P.
Great venue, fantastic food at amazing prices. Very dog friendly which is a bonus.
D. B.
Brilliant food, atmosphere and service.
D. W.
Chase Rice the other week. Great gig and 1st time in the place, great how close you are to the performers. Love places like this!
S. M.
It's OK, but nothing special. Good offering at the bar, food options quite simple / limited, but in line with what you'd expect in this type of venue.
M. M.
First visit to this bar after a show at St. Luke's and it was a great experience. Lively, friendly bar and the music was right up my street, old school rock classics. Well worth a visit.
P. B.
Very good sound, always great bands on. Love this venue! Possibly the best so far in Glasgow
V. S.
What an outstanding venue. Acoustics are out of this world and as it is an old church, there's something quite atmospheric about it. Live music in the bar area after as well made it a great all night place to be.. Didn't eat but have heard the food is great too. Would recommend for gigs, or just a place to have drinks and listen to live music
R. M.
Wonderful atmosphere for superb Scritti Politti concert.
Lovely venue
Z. E.
Really lovely food! We booked online as we were going to see a gig but it's a new system and our booking didn't go through.... Luckily there was a table free so wasn't much of an issue.
The staff are super speedy and only just managed to catch our server to give her a tip!! Definitely will come back if we ever find ourselves in Glasgow again.
B. C.
Just past by for a look in . Great looking venue hall
S. P.
Nothing better than epic. Good food, excellent service, caters for all, dogs welcomed and great tunes. 10 outta 3
s. w.
Beautiful venue, great sound & nice friendly staff
M. R.
Fantastically renovated and very cozy. Great bar and great service. Good live music and the best food you could ask for. I had a Signature dish. Chicken with haggis gravy pie and it was incredible, I highly reccomend it. The steak is also divine. Go to this pub!
B. J.
We recently spent a night in Glasgow and happened to be staying no more than three minutes from this bar, so it seemed ideal! The interior is nicely decorated in keeping with the music venue atmosphere. There was a good live musician playing but he wasn’t so loud as to be intrusive. Though there are not very many vegetarian options on the menu, the ones they do have are very good. I chose the three-bean chilli and had a bowl of Cajun fries with sour cream. The food was full of flavour and spice, and the portions were great! The service was quick and friendly, so all in all it was a very good experience. One star knocked off because our table was really wobbly
R. D.
A phenomenal venue, friendly staff and superb atmosphere 😁
S. M.
Busy bar and venue. The bar is large and can be very crowded. Dog friendly, which is a mixed blessing when busy. The foid is good. There's an outside area when the weather is nice.
I like the venue. Good sound in a converted church. There's a balcony with a bar as well as two bars downstairs. Service is pretty quick.
Miles better than any of the other, more traditional football bars.
L. C.
Food is really good, portion sizes a little on the large side but that's a personal opinion. Lots of selection on the food and drinks menu.
Staff are always really chatty and accomodating.
G. W.
I found this venue by accident and was there for a gig. The bar/diner section is spacious with cool fittings and friendly staff. The old church area is the live music venue and provides a reasonably intimate space over three levels. Many of the original features are still present including impressive organ pipes. This part of the city needs more venues and bars like St Luke's!
C. W.
Brilliant wee night. Great atmosphere, great music, tasty food and super friendly staff. Will definitely be back!
c. h.
Second visit to this place and it certainly had a bit more of an atmosphere then the first time I was in. It was especially busy on the Sunday afternoon we popped in . Luckily for us we managed to get seated as someone left. This place loves well behaved dogs, they also even cater small meals for your furry friend too. But be warned no letting your dog roam and jump up on the chairs etc. Not everyone want covered in your dogs slobber.
There was a acoustic guitar player in the bar. He was really good. I have heard they have shows on in another part of the building. Might try it out one night am over that way.
Great selection of drinks, friendly staff foods tasty and reasonable priced.
A. C.
Great venue for live entertainment, every night of the week, except n aybe when there is wedding on and you're not invited!
Bar open late so enough time to have one for the road.
The food is tasty and plentiful but you may have phone ahead and reserve a table.
P. G.
Very busy restaurant because there is a big venue place next door to the restaurant.
The service provided was not great. we had to wait for a long time to order and be served.
The burger size was not as big as expected but it was tasty.
Same with the french fries. Very thin cut and small portion.
Dessert was nice.
There are tvs for showing sports.
They also do quiz-nights.
H. C.
Great venue first visit to see Kaleo on Nov 17th 2016
J. C.
Fantastic venue! Great acoustically, and fantastic for viewing, vibe is intimate but big enough to buzz. Courteous, friendly, and helpful staff. Decent value prices. Only downside is that people upstairs talking is amplified by the architecture. So any quiet sections of performance can be drowned out by the audience upstairs. Maybe the venue could sort this? Otherwise a 5 star venue!
M. T.
It's a really great venue. The East end of Glasgow is really on the up with the emergence of the gate and van winkle. I think we can be thankful to st Luke's for helping with the regeneration of the area.
Nice selection of beers and I have yet to see a malt I didn't like selected as malt of the month. A good social pub for chatting with friends and having nice food.
B. R.
One of the best pubs in the East end of Glasgow. Really nicely designed modern place. Good food. Very dog friendly as well
S. A.
Me and my wife where taken here by my daughter and her boyfriend for a meal and was very impressed food was great and a good selection of IPA Beers. This place is dog friendly. There was live music playing as well when we was there so created a good atmosphere.
S. P.
At Saint Luke's for the Kris Barras Band gig. Lovely old church converted to a concert venue. Although £2.50 for a can of coke was rather painful.
S. S.
Friendly and helpful staff, decent selection of drinks, massive portions of food and very reasonably priced. Remember to book in advance as it tends to book out quickly especially during the weekends. Recommend the Nachos and Pizzas.
M.
Fantastic lunch our server was very informative about the menu and we went with his recommendation. Only down side was the booth seating all the seating was ripped and we were sitting on foam. Maybe invest in decent seating. Will come back again but honestly we think if the seating is still the same then we will turn around out the door. First impressions is a big thing.
L. S.
Loved the food. Will be back 🙂
K. H.
One of the best venues is town. Bands always sound great in here. Also very much like the bar.
L. M.
Excellent venue, staff were great and the sound was superb. Would definitely attend more gigs there.
K. P.
Food exceptional, no one will be disappointed. We had gluten free pizza, which was highly recommended, macaroni to die for, staff very helpful, definitely the place to be in the sun!!
P. S.
Were there before concert in adjoining venue. Good food and child friendly. Only gripe is we ordered fish finger buttie but received a battered fish in a roll complete with bones.
Would definitely go back though.
Concert venue was a good size and well placed for local transport.
S. J.
Great venue, very intimate gig, and really good acoustics. Recommended 10/10!
D. G.
Great venue, really good atmosphere, both in the bar and in the hall itself
S. L.
Great use of an old church. Fantastic bar. Brilliant venue.
G.
Amazing food. Really worth a try.
S. M.
Saw Ane Brun in concert tonight. The best concert I've ever experienced.
Great venue for a voice such as her..her stage presence was phenomenal..best I've saw in decades
E.
Amazing venue, simply beautiful.
C. M.
Fab staff and the most amazing venue!
m. b.
Great gig venue. Reasonable priced bar. Jumping!!
J. C.
Great live music on a Sunday. Guy was different class. Food was very average. Onion rings overly greasy. Chicken wings portion pleasingly large, but highly bland and underseasoned. Just tasteless. Even adding blue cheese dip at an extra 50p couldn't add flavour. Nice place.. Nice feel. But it's really all about that singer.
H. Z.
Brilliant venue for a gig in old church but the pub is great too. Really friendly staff and good food.
C. M.
Super dog friendly bar with attentive staff. Theres a great range of affordable local craft beer and the food is good value for money, tasty and everything is made from scratch? Also such a beautiful venue for gigs /weddings /events. My favourite bar!
S. R.
Really big a spacious venue. Great atmosphere and handy for sports events on the telly.
B. T.
Great venue lovely acoustics and fantastic atmosphere for gigs. Bar side is a bit crammed and you need to book a table for food well in advance but food is good when it arrives. Great outdoor space.
T. V.
Very interesting spot for shows and great food at the restaurant!
A. R.
Amazing bar and the food is great.
Staff are super friendly and attentive.
Service at the bar is efficient and they never let you wait to long for drinks.
The atmosphere is always amazing here.
Best thing about the place is they are dog friendly and you're always likely to see a little doggo enjoying their time here.
J. M.
Superb place for bite to eat and well the fact my dog was welcomed with a bowl of water and free lunch is a BONUS
J. H.
Only been as a concert venue a few times, haven't been to the bar or had food yet. As a venue it is quickly becoming one of my favourites in Glasgow. Great sound and atmosphere and the setting is brilliant.
O. L.
Excellent location for relaxed dinner, gig visit, planned event or just for drinks. Dog-friendly so can take your pooch with you. Spacious beer garden and unique interior further contributes to the choice. :)
j. m.
We have just spent a great few hours in St Luke's & The Winged Ox, love this place. Great food and drink, fabulous atmosphere, and best of all the staff are some of the nicest people we have ever met. Caitlin who served us today was so lovely, such a pleasant manner and very informative about the food and drink. She also introduced us to the Elvis beer. Cheers, Billy & Jacqueline
j. d.
Been twice now. First for a gig and second time for food. Atmospher great at gig however they need to advise that if you purchase a drink at the bar you then can't join the queue for gig as it's outside. Food is really good with good service, if a bit slow. Not great if you're in a rush but definitely worth the wait.
G. H.
First visit following recomendation from family and friends. we had a brilliant night in a terrific venue. I Love that it has such a Glasgow welcoming feel about it and it provides a great example of what our city is all about - a good drink and good music delivered superbly in a very friendly and happy environment.
Well done everyone, I look forward to my next visit.
I. R.
Pretty good venue, reasonable prices and decent service. On nights with gigs at the nearby Barrowlands or in their own function room, they seem to be booked out entirely though. We arrived around 4pm and found that the entire place was reserved from 6pm. They opened the function room but wouldnt serve food there. Good for drinks. Would have had food but never got the chance.
L. M.
Brilliant place for gigs. The restaurant is very confused. Decor is strange bikes sewing machines and accordions hanging from the ceiling or fixed to the walls. Some tables are for eating they are usually the reserved ones. But people that are eating share the same table with people that are not. I found this irritating as the guy was eating every mouth full with me. Dogs are allowed but please don't it's far to busy for small paws and far to loud in the bar it's self. Food was good and unreasonablely priced.
K. K.
Great food, great service.
G. M.
Great night out at The BBC QUAY SESSIONS to see Edwyn Collins and Chris Gifford.
M.
Always pretty decent. Great beer selection and staff are sound. Food is ok but I've never been bowled over by it.
G. W.
Booked a Friday early dinner for 6ish, lucky they kept table open as we were running late. Place was pretty full but had a great lively atmosphere. Ordered a hells something pizza which was really good, decent size and 5 extra boneless wings, which were a decent portion really tasty as well. Wife ordered green thai curry but didnt really like it but staff sorted that, other person got a burger, said it was pretty good. 4 pints of heidi weiss later and we were all happy!!! Overall great food and beer.
D. K.
Called here last night for tea and drinks was lovely. When we are up in Glasgow we always make our way to here as it's a lovely atmosphere and lovely staff hope to be back soon xx
A. N.
I was there for Pierre Bourne gig and I loved how wonderful the staff and security team where I can't wait to go back for another gig and check out the pub along with the food
J. T.
Great atmosphere and tasty menu. Being dog friendly is also a great bonus, plus they have Elvis Juice on tap. Food is also available to takeaway which is a great if you're local and you're short on time. As the East is slowly picking up, St Luke's leads the way.
A. M.
The venue was amazing. The show was brilliant. I have been 2 times to music shows now. I would highly recommend this place. Very cool and lovely staff. 5 star world class venue. Many thanks. Till next time.
C. S. C.
Fairly new converted church live music venue in Glasgow near the Barrowlands. Great acoustics, two well equipped bars with a good selection including craft beers and nice food as well I believe but haven't tried it yet. Friendly bar staff and lovely relaxed atmosphere looking forward to my next visit.
G. M.
Best pub in glasgow all things considered. Food quality. Menu variety. Nice staff. Good tunes. Allows dogs. Interesting building. Great pint. Great cocktails. No scumbags. Class place.
P. M.
Great place for a pint and further more the grub absolutely fantastic. Also bring Ur dog if u want. Be warned 3 barks and your out lol. Pints of carona aswell.
d. b.
I loved it, great food, casual gig type atmosphere. Service a bit lacklustre at times tho, asked for the same drink 3times before we got it Brough to table. Other than that highly recommend!
D. B.
St Luke's obviously feels very different to normal at the moment but the food and the beer is still amazing as usual, and all the staff are their typical friendly and helpful selves. The arancini-style jalapeno cheese balls are amazing!
K. S.
Really busy when we arrived. Hadnt booked but managed to get outdoor table. Food was okay. Staff lovely and friendly despite being under pressure.
L. C.
SLATWO is one of those bars that has such a good vibe you could happily turn up alone and soak up the energy and leave satisfied you'd had a good time. Service was a bit hectic BUT the staff are super friendly and the food was delicious.
M. F.
Damn, the kitchen wow, this is the kind of fast food you want to eat mountains of ! The place itself is very atmospheric. Love it !!!
A. T.
Great food and a really nice atmosphere. A breath of fresh air for that side of town. Definitely worth stopping in for some food or a few pints. I reccomend the pizza's, burgers, gumbo & last supper. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
G. A.
The beer drinkers beer drinking den. Great pub and food with quality live music and braw atmosphere.
S. F.
Been twice now and the vegetarian food is amazing here. Especially recommend the moroccan burger or wrap. Nice venue for gigs too, we saw Ashley Monroe who was unbelievable. Small & intimate which was perfect for the acoustic gig.
C. G.
Good food in a nice environment
G. C.
Went a gig there. It was excellent. The sound and atmosphere was superb. No feedback from speakers. The sound was crisp and the sound around the old church was really good . The staff was friendly, helpful and informative. Definitely going there again.
L. L.
Really good venue for gigs, intimate and staff friendly at the bars. Great vibe in the bar afterwards. Will be back x
b. c.
Great venue for a concert, decent beer and lovely grub
S. H.
Beautiful dinner, friendly staff, lovely relaxed surroundings, good prices. Thoroughly recommended. Try the Haggis bon bons you'll not regret it and the Rib eye steak was the best I've tasted. Every bit as good as Miller & Carter and less expensive
F. M.
Just to see a band play, was excellent
N. B.
Went in on a Friday nite was absolutely heaving. I had the thai curry which was a special, really wasnt nice. However the others enjoyed there pizzas and burgers. Boneless chicken bites were excellent. Staff were fab, very helpful and friendly. Would definitely go back
R. D.
Great space for live events, super friendly staff, macaroni cheese and any of the vegetarian pizzas recommended.
Wide range of craft beers and interesting cocktails... rejuvenating the east end of Glasgow this is an excellent alternative pub gaining popularity with those in the know.
M. T.
Great venue for small intimate gigs. Great acoustics and brilliant atmosphere.
R. B.
Dog friendly pub with great food and friendly service.
J. M.
Good food and excellent friendly staff
d. d.
Attend a concert last night, doors open 7pm. Went upstairs to get a seat which was great, however, some seating was reserved for various reasons, but not a problem. Some people thought that they could stand in front of the seated people? Thankfully a member of staff, the seated people and security manged to move the chancers on, well done. Ok as a music venue.
C. M.
Excellent gig venue with access to a brilliant bar.
P. D.
Great food (badass brisket burger - yum), good, well priced wine list, friendly, attentive but not intrusive staff, good music and vibe, sparkling toilets. All round five stars for our Friday lunchtime visit.
D. B.
I have visited for food twice and both times they messed the order up, one time not managing to complete our order at all after an over an hour wait before we had to leave to go to local music venue. They did bring us a plate of nachos to share when they realised that our original order had never reached the chef, otherwise I'd have rated them lower.
R. P. t. b.
Great place. Have been coming here for years, dog friendly which is a bonus as we just got a little puppy. Staff go over and aboveand are so polite. Great choice of beer and spirits available and the food is delicious too.
H. C.
Amazing venue for live music, and fab food. Staff are helpful & accomodating
J. O.
Great Venue! Came up for a gig and then watched open mic night. Had a great night. Asked for prof of vaccines and wore masks where appropriate
K. R.
Good venue for a gig. Slight issues with the sound when guitars drowned out Sarah's voice. However it didn't spoil it
N. B. (. J.
Absolutely stunning converted church building used for gigs and conferences. I saw a Nirvana tribute gig here and I was blown away by the venue, love there is a bar in the gig area aswell as the winged ox pub next door. Hope to visit again in the future!
J. M.
Family Christmas Dinner. Lovely warm welcome. Lovely food and smily staff. Great time had by all .would recommend.

Great food and good selection of beer.Nice conversion from old church.Good also for gigs.

Really nice place. The staff know their stuff and it has a great atmosphere especially since they allow dogs! The food is really good as well and you get by one get one free on burgers and pizza on Mondays so worth a look in then.

Would be 5 if it wasn't soooooo noisy. Amazing food
S. W.
Usually love it here but their current restricted menu options were a bit uninspired compared to usual offerings. Not sure if they opted just for the simplest things but was a bit disappointed just to choose from pretty much 1 or 2 pizza/burger/nacho things. Hopefully it'll pick up again soon.

5th gig in this place. Fantastic sound and great looking venue. Plenty of streets round about to park the car if driving! Can't review food as I haven't eaten here yet but from word of mouth I hear it's really good.
E. G.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent venue, not tried food but looks good. Excellent selection of ales including a few Brewdog on draught. It's a great place too. A superb place to take your visitors to Glasgow
G. C.
Excellent restaurant on Bain Street in Glasgow, not expensive and lovely staff, area very pretty, worth a visit 👍👍
R. H.
Nice place, great decor and friendly staff. Wasn't there for music so can't comment on the venue side of it.
Food was, unfortunately, atrocious. I had a brisket sandwich. I've had brisket sandwiches before and this wasn't brisket. This was a fatty unchewable frying steak accompanied by a bowl of flavourless gravy for dipping.
I chose not to complain at the time as the friends I was with knew the waiting staff. I would absolutely give the venue another chance and order something else. But in a city filled with burger bars and american style food offerings serving up this type of quality for £9 is a bit unforgivable.

Great wee live venue. Good acoustics, great atmosphere, and reasonably priced bar
R.
Stunning building with a great drinks menu. Staff seem very well trained and are also extremely pleasant. Would be a more frequent visitor if I had a reason to be in the east end of Glasgow.

Amazing food, top beer, class place, brilliant tunes plus it’s a dog friendly! Highly recommended.
M. F.
Great venue with good selection of beers and good atmosphere for gigs.

Went as part of Jazz festival. Lovely small venue
A. X.
Beautiful venue, comfortable capacity. Great view even on balcony. Stained glass behind stage is a lovely touch. Always good sound, too.
D. R.
Lovely pub, cool and cozy atmosphere. The food and drink are great, as are the staff, and I'd happily return. They let dogs in here too which is a HUGE plus!
S. G.
Great friendly atmosphere. Friendly staff, although had to hail them down. Family and dog friendly. My food was excellent, partner wasn't so happy with hers. Would definitely return
J. R. S.
Outstanding venue for gigs! Incredible acoustic and atmosphere
E. B.
Music bit too loud when you are just out with friends for a catch-up but otherwise excellent good food.

First visit here, for Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever..
Really nice venue - friendly staff, great atmosphere (which the band certainly seemed to be enjoying)..
HOWEVER
Where are the venue staff keeping an eye on business in the balcony area?
The unusual layout of the balcony (well, it is an old church) means that the central front row seats are actually set well back from the balcony edge - there is a crossover walkway right in front of the central seats which offers a tempting bird's eye view of the stage. Tonight there were six people who decided they were going to watch the show from the walkway, but considerately knelt down so as not to obscure the view from the seats. Their folded legs, however, unfortunately presented a major trip hazard for people coming and going from the bar (one guy with a tray of four pints almost went sprawling when he stumbled over one in the darkness) - if an evacuation was necessary there could have been carnage, but there were no visible FOH staff keeping these passageways clear.
I work in venues and can't believe something so obvious and hazardous is being overlooked here.

Great laid back atmosphere, food was really good, been back a couple of times. Had live acoustic music during the daytime which was excellent. Will definitely be back here more often.
A. M.
Lovely and serene atmosphere, singer not too loud and in your face but just at right sound but amazing, loved my meal but had to wait ages on drink, too many waitresses standing talking with each other and not paying attention to customers, so a mark down for that :)
A. G.
Went to see The Japanese House on Sunday. One of the nicest venues I've been to, both in appearance and quality of sound. Staff were very friendly, didn't have to time to check out The Winged Ox.
B. M.
The food the service the atmosphere the staff the venue itself absolutely superb a top night out filled with everything you need for a typical fun night out in glasgows eastend
C. M.
Food was nice. Decor like a less commercialised TGI's. It is dog friendly but as you go in the door it does have a jovial sign stating "3 barks and you're out". This made us a bit tense and feel rushed to eat quickly, having our 7 month old puppy with us who is frightened of her own shadow and let out a few barks.
J. D.
Popped in during July 2020 for some dinner & drinks.
Service was really friendly and helpful. Squeezed us in despite a late booking.
Nice beer on draught and great pizza.
+ it’s a super cool gig venue!
l.
Average: Christmas meal..nice selection of food except the beef was very tough..I asked for steak knives for a few of us & even that didn't make the cutting of the meat any easier. The area was cramped & we were hassled to move from table...we left when staff kept saying we were in the way...
K. S.
Amazing food and beautiful setting for a wedding. Getting married here in 6 weeks time 😀
R. M.
Great bar/restaurant and a nice venue for music and other events. Tasty food, varied menu choices. Service is good and prices for drinks and food are very competitive. I'll be back :)
D.
Always book a table when going to Barrowland. The food, beer, staff, decor, ambiance.... Nailed it!. I wish I could lift and shift it to Edinburgh to save a drive.
Already looking forward to next visit.
I. R.
Good beer selection. Really good quality of bat food. Lovely and clean even when it was mobbed. Great crowd whichever night I've been, regardless of a gig night or not
F. “. M.
Nice and cozy place. Seems popular by locals. But I was there only a few times as delivery rider to pick up food. When I spoke to some people in threre, they liked it. Looking around it seemed popular with young people as well.
D. L.
Great service, nice food, good beer.
F. S.
Great night staff could not have been more helpful. Food fab, and drinks inexpensive, the acoustic session certainly added to the ambiance. We will be back. We were going to gig in Barrowlands 2 mins walk.
C. D.
The food was great! The ambience was great! The service was even better! The owner was so cordial and helpful. The experience was top notch. I would definitely take the time to check this place out!!!
A. M.
Good pre gig bar. Good selection of drinks and great atmosphere, pre barras. Have heard its good for a gig too. Didn't eat but the food looked good. Will definately consider it for another visit. The door staff are a bit arrogant, mind you.

Great renovation of an old Church in Bain street, Glasgow's East end. With the addition of an excellent extension this is now a must visit place. It works well as a restaurant, Wedding venue and also a a great music venue, which was the reason for my visit. Went to see Benjamin Francis Leftwich and I wasn't disappointed, must mention Rosie his support act who was also excellent. Go on, give it a try....
r. s.
Here for a gig and arrived way to early because it was written wromf on the tickets and online. Has some food and it was amazing, well poured drinks and a lovely longgg dog outside. Enjoyed reading some bad reviews here that just didnt ahow what we seen. All together great experience so far.
J. T.
Great for a bite to eat, friendly atmosphere and has nice friendly staff.
D. K.
Really nice venue. It's a converted church and the layout and architecture are both very good. Marked down as there wasn't enough seating and with only one person working behind the bar, the queues were long.
l. m. M.
Great venue for a gig.

Excellent food, large portions, quick and efficient service! And... Your can bring your four legged friend! Overall - great! Also smoking permitted in beer garden.
L. M.
Was there for a gig great wee place
D. S.
There for the fist time on a Sunday night pre Charles Esten gig at Barrowlands Ballroom but liked what I saw plus live entertainment. If hadn't been going elsewhere would have stayed & will go again sometime.
Great vibe from place.
D. M.
Amazing venue for live music. Intimate but not too small. The wingd ox next door offers great food at reasonable prices. Would definitely come again.

Amazing venue .
Lovely for wedding.
Set up ..great .
Recommend it .
M. C.
Good choice of food and drinks. The food itself was pretty tasty. The waitresses were all really accomadating (squeezed us in even though it was busy and most tables were reserved) and really nice.
J. B.
Ideal little Gig venue. Pleasant staff.
C. M.
Great wee venue with lots of character, good views, sound and atmosphere.

Good food, great range of beers, wonderful atmosphere and they appreciated our singing. Be nice to do a slightly more formal gig here.

Went here for first time to see Nirvana unplugged and loved it. Great food, great music in the bar and as a music venue the acoustics are brilliant. Will definitely be back.
V. F.
Great food and drinks. Great gigs staff are awsome go check it out ⭐🎶🍻🍹🌈
s. d.
Excellent music venue, mudhoney were awesome
I. D.
Portion sizes are amazing, extras come as part of the price, refillable drinks, £12 might seem a lot compared to fast food.. but it's outstanding.
A. C.
Superb venue for bands who have a tight following fantastic beer garden (smoking area to you and me) staff brilliant and friendly to "outsiders" great experience. Go for it and food available too
G. S.
Great venue for a gig. Laid back staff and a good atmosphere. Nice bar too. Top class all round.
A. B.
Not a vegan friendly place. 2 vegan items on the menu and the chickpea burger was dry and awful. No dairy alternatives to have your coffee with either.
The atmosfere was nice though.
K. M.
In for food and a gig! Great atmosphere! Food and service were really good.
T. A.
Place wasn't busy so service was sharp food was great even with not alot of customers it has a vib through the decor that speaks volumes can't wait to see kris Barras band here next year 🤘💯
S.
Cool venue for gigs, good and drink. Just what this part of town has been crying out for. Can't wait to go back to try the food...
D. p.
Amazing friendly place perfect to take your dog, food was lovely and there's a nice selection of beers. The concert venue was good as well.
j. l.
Went for Sunday brunch only to realise it was the old firm match which was being shown on three large screens! the three bouncers on the door should have been our first clue! the venue was mobbed with football supporters screaming and shouting having a great time but unfortunately a small very vocal group of tables were swearing at the top of their voices which we wouldn't normally really care about but the place was full of kids age ranging from 5 to 12 and we found it offensive enough to be asked to be moved. The staff were very helpful and moved us right away. Having been to St Lukes before and having really bigged the place up to my friend to say I was bit disappointed is an understatement! There are a thousand places in the city to watch the football and if you go on St Lukes website you would never in a million years think it would be one of them! Would I go back? The food was as good as ever just a shame non of the management thought the behaviour of some of the customers didn't need addressing ! Grown men screaming running round the venue bouncing a 3 year old child up and down really??
A. O.
Awesome live music venue, great atmosphere 👌 👍🏼 😀
c. w.
Food was fantastic! Staff really friendly and dogs welcome
R. B.
Went to see Bishop Briggs, good venue was sold out but not over crowded. Reasonable priced drinks and good sound. Had a great night.
G. P.
Absolutely brilliant venue

Just a really cool bar

One of favourite venues in Glasgow, been several times and will be back. Not been when not going to a gig but the bar has a real nice buzz about it!

Never been inside but the outdoor area is pretty sweet on a sunny day. Good spot to watch the world wander by while having a scoop.
G. Q.
Live music in the East End! Excellent food and beers. What's not to like
J. R.
Food was really tasty. Service was great but what made it the best thing g was that we were able to take our two dogs with us. Fantastic!!
M. F. (.
Was my first time visiting and I went to see Fink. Very small and intimate venue with fabulous sound.... Clean and cosy with friendly staff. My only issue was how far out of town it was, quite a stomp.... would get a taxi in future but would 100% go again 😊
E. G.
I have had good experiences and bad, good value when you get a deal, however the drinks and food can be expensive. It can also get quite crammed. The dogs are the best part.
J. D.
Great place. Good vibe ✨️
P. B.
Excellent venue, great Gig,nice to be back to live music, long may it last!
D. S.
Well worth a visit good food nice staff good music loved it

Popular modern American style bar with music venue. Good range of beers and meals. Surrounding area bit Wild West, very close to Barras.
S. S.
St. Luke's have started to gain a fantastic name in Glasgow. As a Glasgow Taxi driver I can tell you that the reports of quality food and friendly staff are first class. The management here are also very charitable.
c. c.
Located on the edge of the Calton, this old converted church play's an important part in the rejuvenation of the area as it provides a great venue for local, national and international artist's.
Access for wheelchair users is also a good standard.
M. 4.
Excellent venue with a very refreshing house lager.
b. h.
Great place for a gig, excellent service, friendly staff. I loved the atmosphere and lighting as well as the decor in an old church. I look forward to my next gig here.

Great set up!! If anyone is worried about social distancing I wouldn't worry about St Lukes as it has everything in place to put you at ease. From great service from the staff to plenty of signage everywhere.
R. G.
Joseph was great, and brilliant tunes
J. L.
I was in here on Saturday and had a great night. Good tunes, great food and the staff were very attentive. Looking forward to going back!
