Reviews of Singl-end Merchant City
J. T.
Nice little food place with great dishes in Glasgow. Came here for lunch and the staff were very attentive despite how busy it was. The food took an average amount of time to prepare & was well presented, tasting good also. I would recommend this place for breakfast/brunch over lunch.
A. R.
Absolutely loved this place!! The staff were so kind, the atmosphere was festive (we went on Dec 23rd and the place was decorated and filled with Christmas music), and the food was outstanding. I had the French toast and I’m pretty sure it was the best that I’ve ever had. Amazing flavour.
They’re also dog friendly and baby friendly ☺️ can’t say enough good things about this place. 10/10 recommend!
I. L.
CUBANO S\ WICH was so good. Buttered toasted bread sandwiched between grilled pork, with pickles and awesome cheese. I really liked it.
The hot chocolate was also very good.
All in all, I recommend this store. I will come back next time.
M. J.
Friendly staff and great atmosphere.
I had the meaty breakfast should keep me going for the rest of the day.
Scrambled eggs to die for best I've ever had and the home made smokey beans was lovely to 5stars from me thank you.
R. k.
Gorgeous place. With that kind of attitude you would like to encounter in the beginning of the day.
Portions are huge, you could order different dishes and share.
My order that I never change is The Betty. I used to order it with their almond sweet potatoes bread, but they don’t make that anymore. Would be good if they would consider bringing it back as it really takes this dish to another level.
One more note, I noticed that they don’t usually cook the poached eggs medium or ‘runny’. So, if you prefer your poached eggs runny it’s better to emphasize this when you place your order.

Booking advised! This is a busy bakehouse and cafe in Merchant City, offering freshly baked bread, cakes and breakfast/lunch. We booked for brunch which did not disappoint. The honeycomb hot chocolates on the specials menu were sooo delicious! They also had a Baileys hot choc which sounded amazing. A great menu with plenty of brunch choices, I ordered ‘The Betty’ (description with image) with a side of Stornoway black pudding - although it was a tough choice on sides between that or the nduju square sausage! My partner was a fan of the cubano sandwich, which was inhaled in a matter of minutes. Both left with full bellies - no room to try cakes! But all the more reason to return. They also have Gluten Free and Vegan options, and are dog friendly! Look forward to visiting again and trying more from their breakfast and lunch menu.

Really nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good coffee. Plenty seating inside. Had the smashed avocado with halloumi and it was delicious, especially the bread (poached eggs slightly underdone but maybe that's just my taste). The breakfast/lunch menu is really extensive and am looking forward to trying more items next time I'm in Glasgow

Gluten free options. Bread, pastries, omelettes and more. They also have daily specials, and even vegan coconut yogurt! Lovely poached fruit parfait. They made a few mistakes as it is COVID time, busy and I know people are having to train new staff they had to let go due to COVID. Nduja sausage is also gluten free. Lovely lovely lovely staff. Nice setting. Very convenient to George Square and the shopping district streets. We went a few times during our time in Glasgow.

Coffee was absolutely amazing
Breakfast was fine (I went for the meat one)
Cake was very ordinary
Servers were amazing and accomodating
P. L.
Lovely place to go for a brunch in the city centre. Staff is always very thoughful and the environment is really nice. Theres is a decent variety of options from breakfast, brunch and lunch and cakes are a must
R. P.
We had a meaty breakfast and my wife had a croque monsieur. Absolutely delicious and huge portions! Cappuccino was made perfectly. Highly recommend for lunch or brunch and will definitely be back!
J. S.
Got to be honest, I wasn't expecting much from this. I thought it would be just another breakfast place. I was wrong, this was spectacular. We were recommended this from a friend and what a recommendation. I had the steak, mushroom and cheese open sandwich. Loved it. The wife had a full breakfast. We did forget we were in Glasgow and forgot the sausage would be a square sausage instead of links. On the other hand, this was the nicest square sausage I have ever tried.
A.
Great Brunch spot, meals are tasty and the portions are pretty big! The Tumeric oat latte was soooo good.
J. T.
Went for brunch with friends and the atmosphere was just perfect. I ordered the French toast with bacon and maple syrup and it was incredible. The staff were super lovely too.
M. B.
The food was nice, however far too heavy as for my liking. We never finished our portions. The staff was friendly and attentive. Overall, a good place for a quick lunch.
J. G. T.
Delicious food and great environment!
Service was quick and ordering through the app was easy and efficient.
I had the open sandwich with Smoked salmon, creme fraiche and a poached egg on toast and it was one of the best brunches I have ever tried and very filling. Thumbs up😊
L. J.
Stopped here for a Veggie Croque Madame which was excellent and an Aperol Spritz which was equally good. Really friendly service - a real find!
M. H.
Love this place! Lots of choice on the menu and the food is so good. The bread, cakes and pastries are amazing. Great atmosphere too a good value for money. Don't go often but when I do I am never disappointed 😍
C. O.
Cannot rate the food as we only tried their fruit cocktails. Definitely their own variation/take on citrus and Berry smoothies but was a little strange for pur taste.
1. S.
strongly recommend truffle special one
❌gelato is not good
A. B.
Superb food. Very good staff and service. If you are going on a sunny weekend you can sit outside and enjoy your food. Please expect a wait time of 15 mins. We ordered quit a few things and every thing was amazing.
J. M.
Amazing food at fair prices. I had the meaty baked eggs and it was fantastic. Only downside would be that the outdoor seating was a little close for comfort however I'm putting that down to the current restrictions and looking forward to visiting again with inside seating :)
E. H.
Gorgeous brunch where your can watch your food being made with the greatest of care! A must for brunch/ breakfast in glasgow m!
J. G.
First time here for brunch. Got full breakfast with chorizo square sausage which was amazing. Great cappuccino and freshly squeezed orange juice as well. Would 100% go back again.
L. B. C.
The place is a great place for brunch! Menu is simple, but very well executed. Been here twice already. The portions are big, so I would encourage sharing to try different things. Prices are amicable
L.
Was recommended by the receptionist at my hostel. Totally worth it. Had the best breakfast during my entire UK trip. The portion was so generous as an adult I couldn’t finish all. The ingredients were evidently fresh and of great quality - the tomato, the eggs, the bacon, the sausage, the sourdough and even the coffee - everything was incredibly tasty & you could tell its good quality simply by eating it! Had many tasteless breakfast in hotel in big cities like London and I dare say this is so overwhelmingly good! It was voted as the best breakfast in Glasgow - I couldn’t agree more! Service was just as excellent and personable as the food! Absolutely recommend it!
C. C.
Really loved this place as they did lots of options for my gluten and dairy free diet. Exquisite presentation and massive portions. Bread with the soup was sooo good! Hubby enjoyed his full English too.
Only reason I gave four starts was because they took our hot drinks away before we even drank them. Wasted money there and they were full to the top!
c. m.
Small cozy space right in the middle of merchant city offering a fantastic array of breakfast Brunch and lunch options. All fantastic quality and can cater to lots of dietary needs. Cake selection is fantastic too! Can get busy so be prepared for a little wait at busier times. Dogs are allowed in too 👍🏻
S.
We sat out the back in the terrace. It felt soulless and lacked the warmth and energy of the interior. The three of us were put on a table for 2, so we were cramped and also crammed in a corner with a weird and weathered metre-high fake ice cream cone 🍦 which seemed to want to join our already full table. It awkwardly stayed there throughout the meal.. like a newbie ghost unsure how to properly haunt.. 👻 yeah, it was weird.
In other food news: the granola included juice, perhaps from the pineapple, and was not a good addition.
The carrot and coriander soup was perfect, and the eggs Benedict were also great.
The smoked salmon lacked a balance of ingredients: way too much salmon and not much else. The single poached egg was tiny and the crème fraiche was overwhelmed by the large amount of salty salmon. The salsa verde didn't work for me.
Although there were 3 types of GF bread, the only choices for GF meals were granola and porridge.
The place was very busy when we visited, and we waited for almost 10 minutes for the little table. Apparently wait times over the weekend exceed an hour!
Staff were rushing about and somewhat harried, very brief when taking orders. So, together with the food and seating, it was not really a great experience.
It's a shame, because after paying at the till we chatted with a waiter and then another outside heading for a break and both were friendly and funny. Unfortunately we saw none of that until leaving.
P. B.
Dog friendly.
Quality breakfast brunch venue, great staff and even greater food, we got the meaty baked eggs, was incredible, convenient location too to move on afterwards.
Extensive menu with a lot of gluten free options, cakes looked fabulous but we were too full of baked eggs to indulge unfortunately.
S.
Great place for Breakfast and coffee with a huge selection of freshly home made cakes and pastries . Singl-end is really popular and it could be little busy some times, so my advice to try to book your table first , or if you don't mind waiting for a while , it's worth the wait .
Staff are really friendly and helpful telling us about their different blends of coffee and bread . Overall the food was so delicious and the service was excellent .. highly recommend :)

Staff were all so nice and service was great/fast.
Really recommend the “Betty” and “Sunshine on Glasgow” smoothie! Got seated right away wasn’t too busy :)
L. F.
Amazing food! Been before and as usual the food is so good. Worth the walk/drive, even if it's out of your way! Great staff too!
I had the French toast with peanut butter and jelly with whipped cereal milk. Sooo good!
J. M.
Went here with my sister for a late breakfast on 5th February. I was immediately drawn to the quiche special on display as you walked in and couldnt see past ordering this. I usually dont like cauliflower but how it was served in the salad was more than palatable. My sister went for the Betty which was well portioned and really tasty. I also bought a sourdough to enjoy at home which was equally as good.
A. W.
This cafe cum small restaurant in Merchant city Glasgow sells a variety of lunch and breakfast items and has an interesting menu, however I only had a coffee although they did tempt with their excellent variety of cakes. The coffee was mellow but flavoursome and very refreshing. It was table service and good at that. The restaurant had a well pointed clean interior, outdoor seating was available.
E. O.
Really lovely for brunch with a lot of options on the menu. Staff were friendly and helpful.
A. L.
My fav place! Huge choice for eating even for vegan. Fresh and delicious. Nice and always helpful staff. And desserts! Worth additional kilograms
E. W.
The queuing system is a bit confusing at the moment, we ended up standing outside for 10 mins despite having a booking. However, food is incredible as ever and service the perfect amount of available but not in your face.
I do need to work out a way to get much bigger black coffees though… 😉
R. J.
We were wondering around in Glasgow looking for a nice place to have breakfast when we came across this amazing place! Atmosphere - amazing, staff - helpful and most importantly food - delish!
M. T.
Lovely food, well presented, good service, good for vegans too, nice ambuence
A. H.
We arrived at peak brunch time so there was a bit of a wait to be seated as well as waiting for the food to arrive but once it did, it was worth the wait. Delicious food and great coffee.
T. D.
The food was amazing and fresh and tasty , our table was at an very good spot upstairs . Unfortunately every experience comes with the whole environment. The staff looked like they where not happy at their working place and when our food arrived they didn’t even knew that was for us we had to guide her !
L. M.
Fantastic service delivered by friendly, knowledgeable & welcoming staff.
We had soup of the day served with sourdough bread.
We then had the most delicious homemade scones with butter, jam & cream. The coffee went down a treat too.
Great central location, beautiful decor, relaxed atmosphere and it's dog friendly.
R. M.
Stopped in here for a quick bite to eat and a coffee last week and was blown away for their selection of freshly baked goods and locally sourced ingredients. The coffee was also to die for. Will definitely be going back here for a proper meal to try it out. The inside is decorated beautifully and its positioned perfectly in the heart of the merchant city. Also, when the weather is great they have a large outdoor seating area that get the sun all day so would recommend this place to anyone!
M. C.
Great food and most of the staff were lovely but service was rather slow and unfortunately the host at the door was quite abrupt.
T. K.
They never disappoint! Great coffee, great atmosphere!! Had "The Betty", was an ample serve and delicious!! A fave spot for Brunch!!
D. S.
Great food, particularly weekend brunches. I try to get here at least once on each visit to Glasgow.
C. N.
Excellent place for breakfast or lunch, the food is top drawer and the service is excellent too, highly recommended
C. S.
It's great in Garnet hill, it's great in Merchant city. Vegan options are great but their poached eggs on halloumi and avocado with seeded bread is the GOAT brunch. First place I recommend for visitors, I only go for special occasions because otherwise I'd eat myself out of house and home it's so delicious.
J. E.
Food was very good. They've managed to make beans taste insanely good, and the same with the hash brown. The bacon could have been crispier but I digress.
Coffee was alright, pretty standard cafe number. Either they're using generic beans or not using good beans properly.
However, this would be 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that I asked for an extra piece of bread and got charged £2.50 for HALF A SLICE of sourdough. I get you have to pay for things but paying almost a quarter of the cost of a fry up again for a over-toasted subpar piece of sourdough really spoiled the meal.
S. D.
Brilliant wee cafe , does great breakfast and lunch options. Staff always very helpful and distancing measures are great. Picture is meaty baked eggs
I.
Great selection of food (menu a little confusing just with sheer size of it) food was quick and staff were pleasant. Was only in for breakfast and it was mobbed which was a good sign. Would go again if in the city.
M.
I rate this place. Had the meaty baked eggs which were absolutely dynamite, have sampled cakes and scones before and they were great but watching the waistline so had to skip them this time sadly. Dog Friendly but my dog was dissapointed not to get a treat. Had cut his paw and worn a bandage especially and while all the staff were nice to him there was a lack of biscuits.
L. C.
Popped in for brunch. Was quite busy and we were seated in the courtyard. We were served pretty quickly. We both ordered Croque Madame however when our order arrived we both got Croque Monsieur. We didn't mention this error and kept what we'd been given. Food was nicely presented and very filling. A little heavy for me and I probably wouldn't order again. I will return and try something a little lighter. I felt the food was slightly overpriced.
Z. S.
Good food, huge portions and good service. Lots of availability, we didn’t book and we arrived on Thursday for brunch. Good option that is centrally located. Thought the Nduja on the square sausage was a bit over powering and would have preferred without.
C. L.
Food was OK, much the same as all the other brunch type places around now. But service very variable. Some staff attentive but several too busy chatting and trying not to catch your eye.
M. A.
Brunch was 10/10!
Lovely staff. Overall amazing experience!
S. M.
Delicious food, great space, amazing staff and unbelievable value. It's a definite yes from me!
D. C.
Great location, amazing food, fantastic staff. Very busy but that was to be expected for a Saturday brunch time. Only a 5min wait for a table. Did not disappoint.
O. B.
Amazing atmosphere. Great very filling food portions
S. M.
The food was outstanding, went for brunch and the portions were amazing value. Lovely room too and the staff were very friendly. Can't wait to go back.
C.
Best breakfast I've ever had!! And staff were super friendly:)
W. M.
Quirky cafe that serves booze as well, I had the "meaty" breakfast which was good I wouldn't say it was a traditional Scottish breakfast but it was good perfectly poached eggs with great home made baked beans the only downside was the square sausage which was a spicy square thing that wasn't great was gristley and not to my liking £11.50 was maybe a tad expensive for what it was £2.50 for a can of coke pricey for a cafe but it is in the merchant city.
M. M.
Great breakfast and coffee. Busy wee place so best book.
A. W.
A must visit for breakfast/lunch in the city. Service always good, food always amazing. I recommend the baked eggs!
C. D.
Great atmosphere. Good breakfast. Quick service. Would go again.
.. s.
The food was as good as ever, great flavour and good portion size. The only thing that I would say is that the coffee could have been warmer and it would be better if it was served at the same time as the food. Otherwise fantastic.
c.
Quality place for breakfast and brunch. Cool and funky restaurant located in Merchant City, Glasgow. Meaty Breakfast cooked fresh with a flat coffee and an ice cold Irn Bru set me up for the day. Highly recommend
D. M.
Excellent. Always a worry for a Coeliac going to a new cafè. My fears were groundless.
T. M.
Good portion size for food. A little bit pricey in my opinion. They do all the favs like avocado with poached eggs/baked eggs etc. Dog friendly. Would recommend booking early as there is usually a wait.
R. P.
Had a late breakfast there - the smoked salmon with poached egg was fantastic.
And Instagram worthy as well ;)
M. A. (.
Strong coffee, tasty brunch & amazing homemade bread (including 3 gf options!!). My new favourite brunch place in Glasgow.
A. M.
Great food, had the meaty eggs, absolutely brilliant and alot of food for not alot of money
J. H.
Lovely food, very friendly servers, coffee ok
J. F.
BEST FOOD EVER!!! 🤩
Meaty breakfast 😋
G. H.
Excellent, great service.
Gluten free millionaire shortbread was so good
H. L.
Brilliant food! Great atmosphere! Great service. Always mobbed...there is a reason why!
T. M.
Beautiful presentation, dog friendly and helpful staff. The poached eggs are perfect.
J. O.
Considering there's not much quality choice in Glasgow's city centre, this is a safe option.
They are good at what they do - cakes are tasty, food is nice and the coffee is enjoyable.
J. O.
Single End in John Street, Glasgow. Wonderful friendly atmosphere. Anyone who who worked around the City Chambers in the 60s and 70s will remember this as Maguires sandwich place. Its lovely to go there now and remember those wonderful days. Its amazing how the old days and relationships come flooding back. Pop in. Its well worth a visit.
N. H.
Best breakfast I had in a long, long time.
D. C.
Lovely place for food. My visit consisted of a cuppa n a large slice of cake when I caught up with friends. Friendly and helpful staff 👌
M. W.
One of the best breakfasts I've ever eaten. Great service as well.
L. T.
Central place to meet up with friends. City centre prices for food. I wouldn't rush back.
T. P.
The perfect food, great service, superb cocktails! It's so nice to feel human again and have brunch with friends.
D. F.
Try to go for breakfast every other sunday.suberb food.realy helpful and lovely staff.you will not be treated better,or have a better breakfast anywhere else.i love this place.
N. E.
Lovely place for brunch. Very popular, it was almost full at 10, and had a long queue by 11:30. I had great coffee, and a hearty English breakfast. Wasn't a fan of the sausage, but everything else was nice. Staff are also nice despite being busy.
j. m.
Lovely brunch, reasonably priced (£14 for a vanilla latte and massive portion of sourdough, 2 poached eggs, bacon, 2 massive bits of halloumi & smashed avocado!)
Will definitely return here, the food was lovely! and service was good too! heaters outside, during coronavirus you need to order via an app, and they brought us blankets to sit outside with as they had no tables inside! they did however forget 1 round of coffee but we just asked again after 15mins of waiting and they said it never came through on their system so they sorted it for us.
P. G.
Great service excellent food would go back again defo
M. M.
This Singl-End is one of my favourite food spots in the city as the food, coffee and cakes are always outstanding, and the staff are welcoming. The specials menu always has a good few options on it too, and the place caters well for dietary requirements. The only downfall is that on a few occasions I've felt rushed to pay and get out the door. I understand the place gets busy, but nonetheless it is something I would rather not experience as a paying customer.
E. H.
Friendly and helpful staff, spacious and open feel to eating areas. A variety of eating spaces, in character full environment. Tasty food with loads of choices . A very enjoyable experience
R. L.
Really brilliant meal here with my parents and our dog. Me and mum both had the special which was a cheddar cheese quiche, and we both agreed it was the nicest quiche we'd ever eaten in a cafe! The cakes were so tasty, and I bought a couple extra for friends who loved them despite me crushing the box in my bag!
N. A.
Great food, friendly staff!
R. K.
Had an excellent gluten free cake and coffee. Staff knew about which options were safe and were happy to explain the kitchen situation which isn’t 100% dedicated gluten free. If you have a high sensitivity, probably not for you, but if you can normally safely eat out from shared kitchens, you should be alright.
C. M.
I love Singl-end and am introducing as many friends to it as possible! Delicious food including lots of great options for vegans. They have a wonderful range of cakes which changes often (so you need to keep going back!) including ones that vegans or those on a gluten free diet can enjoy. And they're clearly labelled as such! The restaurant allows dogs, which is wonderful. Despite being small it has enough space for buggies beside many of the tables, so is a great place to bring your little ones. They do take-away as well as dine in. The coffee is really good. They do freshly squeezed orange juice the proper way with real oranges. And the staff have always all been lovely, in my experience. Nothing not to like.
K. L.
This was our first stop on our UK trip, and it couldn't have been a better start. Delicious food that accommodated all our food restrictions (soy allergy, gluten and dairy intolerant, etc), AND was super queer friendly including a gender neutral restroom. We were drooling over every dish we ordered and had a hard time narrowing down what to get, which is quite a treat considering there's usually a thing or two on menus we can choose from. They also had a large selection of deserts that were labeled if gluten free or vegan, though we were so full from food we didn't have a chance to try any. Plus the staff was incredibly kind and helpful as we were orienting ourselves to everything that was new AND figuring out food. I only wish we had spent more time in Glasgow so we could have gone back again!!
M. T.
Had a lovely lunch with friends i hadn't seen since August. Not the best of weather for outside dining but the staff made us feel very welcome and the food was amazing 😋
K. E.
Fantastic service, attentive and quick. The food is very tasty and big selection of gluten free options. I had breakfast here every day because I love this place so much. Try gluten free focacia and poached eggs - delicious!
J. D.
Really yummy breakfast and the flat whites are good. Lattes less good.
D. H.
The meaty breakfast was outstanding! Would recommend 👍👍👍
J. F.
We had a delightful breakfast here. I had a more-than-generous portion of scrambled eggs and toast that was delicious. The setting is cozy and the staff was wonderful. It's good enough for a return visit.
K. M.
Best place in Glasgow. Prefer Garnethill but food is equally as good in both.
Veggie breakfast, hot smoked salmon open sandwich with olive nut bread are my favourites.. And porridge with rhubard compote.. Yum!!
I. B.
Ingredients are quality. If visiting, I recommend breakfast. Go for the Meaty breakfast with scrambled egg. I have never tasted egg like this before. Absolutely delicious. Definitely will be visiting again very soon. Top notch!
S. C.
Very good baking and delicious cakes! Food is great quality and very flavourful. My one complaint is that my celiac friend only had one option of gluten free cake that she could try, would be good to have more options
L. M.
Quality food for us hipsters. Coffee was very nice too. Good service and food waiting time was reasonable for such a busy place.
Other half got a hair in his food, but that can happen almost anywhere.
F. W.
Great brunch spot with great vegan options.
L. M. N.
Great bloody Mary's and brunch! We we're lucky enough to sit in the back corner of the space which was loaded with natural light. The prices are affordable and the staff is very kind. I think this would be a good spot for a work touch base one-on-one or meet up with a friend. It was narrow indoors so would be difficult with a large party.
V. M.
Delicious food, plenty of gluten free and vegan choices. This place have a little bit of everything for everyone. Service was lovely and the place looked cute.
R. G.
Food, drink and staff were fab ! Really enjoyed my experience here
D. G.
The coffee was great and the portions were huge
T. J.
Really great vibes here. The portions are pricey but massive. I was really pleased to be able to box up the leftovers from lunch and have the rest for dinner. There is a good veggie and vegan selection and all single use plastics are compostable!
L. C.
Absolutely brilliant place. Went for brunch on a personal recommendation. The staff are very efficient and polite. The food is excellent. Can't fault it. We'll worth a visit 🤗
L. M.
Really friendly staff and fast service. Amazing food and drinks.
D. P.
Lovely food. Great healthy food for lunches and snacks. Good gluten free options too.
R. M.
Great food and coffee and outdoor seating is good. Maybe a little pricy. Happily go back though.
G. L.
Visit tonight was for drinks. Great, comfortable seating with friendly service. Had to order via app/link but that's in line with regulations. Great experience tonight.
D. F.
Everything was really tasty and the service was amazing😍
C. W.
Absolutely delish-both food and beverage choices-and you can find vegan and nut-free options. I felt very lucky to have found this gem which serves their breakfast and lunch items all day.
R. S.
Lovely spot for these guys to move into and enjoy, great to see it thriving and delicious big plates to try!
C. B.
This is worth a visit, even if it's just once. The breakfast choices were amazing and food looked good. Cakes looked delicious but didn't have them. I opted for scrambled eggs on toast, choose your bread, I chose focaccia, you can have Mushrooms and potato scones as sides. My OH had the big meaty, pork and fennel sausage, cannelini beans, bacon, black pudding. If you want a proper Scottish breakfast this is not the experience for you, the Americans would love it. Bit pretentious but enjoyable, and it gets 4 stars due to most stuff being bio degradable.
A. N.
Nice hollandaise sauce, lots of GF options
E. L.
Food was just mediocre.
D. M.
Absolutely wonderful! Friendly staff and homemade cakes that are unusual. Caters for vegan and Gluten Free and not half-hearted attempts either; proper GF and Vegan bread, dishes, milks and wholesome food. Scottish breakfast and porridge is brilliant.
Good artwork to buy too and all cooked in full view of diners! Coffee connoisseur? Yep, good coffee here and not naff!
Try baked eggs and a Croque Monsieur!
S. Y.
A friend and I went here for a late breakfast during the week while she was visiting town and we were very delighted! The food was fresh and delicious! The staff is very friendly but the service it not that fast and I personally think the closing hours are a bit early but if you are looking for a place with a good atmosphere and yummy food then this is the place!
J. G.
Really good rustic food, scrambled eggs to die for. Six different breads to try along with the various egg based brunch dishes. Plenty of choice for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans. The Betty is wonderful - rustic bread covered in smashed avocado with chilli flakes, fried halloumi and I have scrambles eggs on top of that rather than poached, then drizzled with various dressings.... divine. Cant normally cope with cake as well but they are too gorgeous to pass up, so we always leave with a goodie bag for later. Cakes are both vegetarian and/or vegan. Love visiting daughter at uni so we can have brunch here together
D. W.
Superb food and friendly staff, the ultimate breakfast bap is delicious and they serve a great latte. Staff were really welcoming and it made a great break from lockdown, really recommend for a great place to eat.
M. N.
Lovely food. Really nice service..Definitely will return
M. M.
Lovely cafe in the centre of Glasgow. Have a great range of gluten free options. Nearly everything can be modified to be gluten free which is music to a coeliac's ears. Dog friendly also which is very cute although no one had a dog while we were there. I had poached eggs with bacon and avocado on gluten free focaccia followed by a gluten free millionaire's slice. I was stuffed leaving, definitely very filling. It's a busy spot around lunchtime so give yourself plenty of time just in case you have to wait for a table.
S. P.
Really interesting menu, well priced in a quirky venue. We will definitely be back.
D. S.
Clean, cosy, nice drinks including smoothies and hot chocolates with orange liqueur! The food being served at other tables looked very nice, and there were lots of vegetarian, vegan or gluten free items on the menu.
S. L.
Lovely food as always.
A. D.
Great range of food options from breakfast/lunch menu options to baking products and coffee. Excellent menu and reasonably priced. Great location in Italian quarter. 100% coming back for more.
T. S.
Excellent place for breakfast and lunch. High quality ingredients. Very nice selection for the menu. The staffs are friendly and helpful.
V. L.
Amazing breakfast!
Z. A.
Cute little restaurant and delicious food but the table service could have been better
J. B.
Came in for Mother's Day brunch. Was absolutely delighted, the food was fantastic, coffee was great and the service was quick and very friendly.
Great spot and I will definitely be back!
C. M.
Eggslent late brunch on a Monday. Delicious food, excellent friendly service. Our first visit and we enjoyed everything and will be back to try other menu items.
T. E.
Staff are super friendly and helpful. There might be a short wait but you can go away and come back when your table is ready. Good selection and portions are massive!!
L. S.
This is the 2nd Singl-end I've been too and the service and food selection are just as excellent.
Quirky, hipster, lots of vegetarian options and breads/cakes to take home. Also serves some great hangover smoothies!
E. C.
Just like the Garnethill one, Singl-end is always brilliant. If you're looking for delicious breakfast, brunch or lunch with your dog, that's the place to go!
L. e.
Nice staff, the typical breakfast was not really something special, I mean the taste. The place also doesn't smell nicely. The cappuccino was bad. Though the staff was very nice and the snacks were tasty.
E. P.
Amazing soup and sandwich! Service so friendly and fast too even though I was bringing in a large pushchair and baby! Very accommodating and will be back probably multiple times!
E. O.
Great food, friendly staff. Try the croque monsieur
L. W.
Really good place to go for something to eat and drink. Food is of a good standard with large portion size. Staff very friendly and professional. Well worth a visit.
R. E.
Covid safe. No contact with staff at all other than them bringing food to the table. You have to order your food through an app which may be a stuggle for some less technical people (like my mum)
A. S.
It's a nice place food is amazing but the service is very strange.
Y. H.
Great wee unusual place for a work lunch drop in
K. T.
Great food and great vibe!
J. H.
Amazing bread! Cut onto big doorstop chunks, the bread was the star of both my croque monsuer and my husband's French toast with bacon and maple syrup. Polite and friendly staff, with a visit
D. M.
Food was excellent. They have an online ordering system that uses your phone. Very easy to use. Would highly recommend.
M. W.
Had the vegetarian baked eggs, was delicious although the portions are very big so be aware. Service was slightly slow despite the cafe being quiet.
V. F.
Great vibes, food for all tastes & requirements...amazing gluten free bread with nuts & olives....reasonable prices too. Loved it. Only open during day. Great for lunch.
.
L. M.
My family and I went two days in a row, it was so tasty. The staff were lovely and the bread is great. I recommend the baked eggs.
P. K.
Great quality food and service.
A. R.
Food was okay, with very large portions. Service was slightly on the slow side. Decent brunch spot in the city centre.
A. F.
Food was great it always is, waiting a good while before it came out. We were in a group and 3 of the dishes were sent back as they were cold apart from that it was fine, will be back them being busy like that doesnt put me off.
K. D.
I've been to both Merchant City and Garnethill location several times, the food is always good, so is the coffee and staff. Glasgow has no shortage of good places to eat, this one is deservedly popular.
A. m.
Good and healthy food for an affordable price. Totally recommended
N. H.
