Was very limited food available on last visit and the pizza which is new to the menu

James Kelly was managing the bar and he made us feel so welcome and a barman called Rhys made us feel so welcome, we always love this place. M.Come here at least once a week myself and husband and 4 teenage grandkids, great prices good food, however last couple of visits were disappointing, couple of weeks ago got a sizzling plate, after an hour wait it came but certainly no sizzle about it was just hot and no more, returned, got apologie and had 1 free dessert. Went this afternoon after 50min wait, myself and husband got the fish, I had to leave as it was undercooked, I was leaving but no one at bar area to say to them..

D. S.An hour's wait for some overcooked food. Very edible, but nobody asked for their steaks burned to a crisp and so they came like that anyway. Can't fault the food itself however and the prices aren't bad at all :)

Prices are very reasonable. 2 dinners for 8 pounds. No need to travel to town. The regulars are nice with a hello and smile. Its the place for me and its the place to be.

H.I used to frequent here quite a bit for food with family and friends....the last while I have been disappointed in a number of things....the food has been rotten and also taking a very long time to come, also the service hasn't been great either....it definitely had gone downhill....BUT it is definitely on the up!!! Was in today and the food was amazing!!! There were 4 adults and 2 kids and every single bit of food we ordered was lovely! And the service was also alot better....the new manager James seems to be changing things for the better....I'm so glad there is a new chef though because the food was awful....will definitely be in alot more now ❤️ oh and the little kids play room is a hit with the kids so hi five 💙

s. m.It total it was less than 14 quid for 2 dinners. I went with gf. 2 mains for 9 quid is no brainer. We both had the fish. It was a good size with lovely big flakes of fish inside. Chips were lovely too. Topped of with 2 glasses of Pepsi max. Will definitely be going again.

Attended for a birthday dinner.
It was very busy with 40 minute waiting time. Got a table quickly and ordered our food. The fish and chips was lovely as was mixed grill and rib eye steak. Sarah, assistant manager was on the go all evening and was friendly and helpful. There were no glass cups available for the liquer coffee and she provided this in an ordinary mug as it was for a birthday treat! Complimentary defo worth a visit .

C. D.This is my dads local and he comes up often (Doc, Gordon Docherty). He brought me up for lunch today and James Kelly and Myke Bronwich were managing and made us feel very welcome. A girl called Lesley who was serving food and drinks was so nice and pleasant and had us laughing so much, we will 100% be back as i have about 5 lunches organised with friends and we will now come here. Food was also amazing. Dont knkw kitchen staff name but food was outstanding.

L. C.4 of us went for the cheap £4.95 for main & sweet..can't complain about the value for money, the food was ok, apart from the fudge brownie had been microwaved too long and was solid.
The staff on the other hand left a lot to be desired. The waitress with the vibrant red hair argued with me that I had ordered the wrong meal...I hadn't. Another girl, behind the bar swore like a trooper when my husband was waiting to order drinks.
The tables were sticky and the chairs were filthy.
It's a shame, as it's our local and we'd use it a lot more often if it was a more pleasant dining experience.

J. M.Food is tasty but staff are trained not to tell you to collect cutlery and condiments or bring them with the meal. You don't realise until the food is delivered and you try to eat. You have to abandon your food to go in search of cutlery and condiments while your food starts to go cold. In addition, the hand driers do not work

C. H.Had a fantastic night on Saturday 8 December in the Sringcroft Edinburgh Road. We were a party of four, had a sharing platter to start with which was fab followed by steaks cooked to perfection and delicious. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, couldnt do enough for us, especially James. We will be going back for sure, and asouloutly recommend this lovely resturant/pub to anyone wanting brilliant food and service.😁

H.Was a regular visitor of the Springcroft as i stay 5mins from the place but it went down hill for a long time .... ive recently gone back to it knowing that the staff have changed and most importantly the chef has changed... since the changes have come into play the food is beautiful and the staff are very friendly and inviting... we as a family are enjoying being regulars again and very much enjoying & supporting the positive changes which have been made. Will most definately be recommending to all family and friends again

The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly, service was prompt and polite, food was of high quality and very well presented in good time nice and hot... whu just 3 stars.. because the venue itself badly needs some tlc.. a good coat or two of paint and some new toilets.. we held a private funeral dinner in one section of the springcroft.. If this was my pub... thats the market i would target after a refurbishment as the staff are certainly professional enough.. thank you staff for making a hars day go smoothly 😊
