The atmosphere was definitely not like an American diner. More like a bar from the 1980s or one of those non-alcoholic "clubs" for teens - dark with neon and red lighting. Reminded me of the ones my friends and I used to frequent in '86. Almost ordered a Shirley Temple to bring back the old memories :D The food, however, was tasty. The bbq sandwich was huge. The salt n chili tater tots were fab. My son ordered the chicken and waffle. The waffle was more cake-like as waffles here tend to be. In America, they're crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside- less chewy than the cake type waffles here are. The chicken was tasty. Overall, the food was good and we'd give them another go.

There's a cool vibe in this place. Really liked the atmosphere. Service was really fast even though it was busy and the staff were friendly. Deep pan pizza is their specialty so had to try and it was very good. The dough wasn't too thick and it was more about the toppings. Went in a group of 3 and decided to get 1 pizza and some other bites to share and was probably the right decision as the pizza was really filling. Got some buffalo wings because I knew this place is run by the same people as bucks bar. They were slightly different to bucks wings and maybe a bit spicier. I'd say the bucks wings are better, but this place is better for variety. Loaded tater tots with buffalo chicken were amazing as were the burnt ends. The bites were all served in baskets with paper and some of the food tended to get stuck to the paper. Would be better if it was just served on a plate or bowl, but it probably saves them of dish washing. Reasonably priced. We were less than £25 each all in and that included a couple of beers. I'll definitely be back.

Found this place randomly when we were looking for a place to eat (mate date), something different and we bumped into Thundercat Pub. It is american style pub with really nice decor inside. Food was great, we had starter, mains and dessert everything was nice and hot. Only thing that surprised us was the price for water but overal was good. Staff was coming regularly checking if everything was ok and if we need any drinks or anything else. Good atmosphere inside with really good music. I will be coming back again once I am visiting Glasgow. Worth the visit!

This place is 10/10 Food was out of this world. You won't find what is on there menu anywhere else! Staff were nice and service was fast! You'll need a goody bag if you go because the portions are huge. Which is a great hangover cure for the morning after 😂 highly recommend a chocolate milkshake 🤤

Heard great things so tried it out with some friends but wasn’t that impressed. The vibe of place was nice though very hot and loud. Overall this wasn’t too bad and could put up with it as the general vibe of the places was nice. The food was very hyped up so was expecting great things and got very mediocre things. One of the hotdogs was ruined by the amount of mustard on it (see photo) legit was a joke how much mustard was on it as after scraping most of the mustard of the rest of the hot dog was really nice. The sides were alright too though nothing amazing. Would probably try this place again at a quieter time to give it another chance but won’t be any time soon just now.

Had a lovely evening dining at Thundercat Pub & Diner. Went for a mate date with a friend while visiting Glasgow. We had the Mac n Cheese and deep fried pickles as starters and had the meatloaf and the Buffalo Chicken Deep Dish Pizza for mains, and we shared a banana and Nutella waffle for desert. The food was spot on. Everything was nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful, kept coming regularly to see if everything was ok and of we needed more drinks etc. Atmosphere in the Thundercat Pub is nice, decorated nicely with good background music playing.

Booked this place a week in advance! Place was absolutely packed! Shared the classic deep dish pizza and a hard shake each - came to £30 which is a pretty good price for dinner in town and were well fed! Plenty more to choose from on the menu, nearly all good less than £10!

This place is pretty great though quite pricy. The 'hardshakes' are delicious and super filling and the deep dish pizzas are also pretty good and easily shareable by two people if not more. The service we got was great and I'll definitely be going again.

Sweet baby Jesus!!! The food was AMAZING! We ordered the deep dish pizza, tater tots and bbq burnt ends. I'm still dreaming about them. If fine dining is your thing then it's not for you but this place is an absolute delight. Can't wait to come back! Cocktails were lovely too.

Loved the menu...could have picked several things. Mostly burgers and fried chicken on the menu but done in different ways. I got the deep fried pickles.... if you're a pickle lover...here is the place for you. They were magic, garlic & herb dip to go with it. Tater tots & crinkle cut chips come in 3 ways salt & pepper, spice and smokey. The deserts looked fab too. I got an ice cream sandwich for £4 and was not disappointed it was easily about 5/6" in height mr whippy ice cream sandwiched between 2 hot chocolate chip cookies. Cocktails were delicious too. Had the pineapple express and a cherry one. 🍒 we did have to wait almost 35 mins for food to come which was forgivable as i think every table was filled even though it was a monday night and the food was bang on!will definitely be back.

Outstanding food mostly american themed. Had the buffalo chicken deep dish pizza while my mate had the black pudding deep dish and side of tater tots between us. It might not sound it but having a deep dish pizza each was too much, as amazing as it was the size is deceptive due to the amount of filling. 1 pizza would have filled both of us up. Amazing cocktails at 40% off. Pizza was quite good and unique. The Buffalo tater tots were definitely disappointing they tasted very weird. Took seconds to bring us drinks but took ages to bring out the pizzas and they weren't even all at the same time which was a bit annoying but all in it was a cool experience with polite staff.

My partner and I absolutely love Thundercat. The pizzas are absolutely amazing. Even during lockdown we ordered a delivery because we just couldn’t be without. My only con is, we were treated to a family lunch here when we first got engaged (because we love it so much) and when booking it does ask if it’s a special occasion which we put down engagement lunch but unfortunately this wasn’t mentioned at all during our lunch. Not that it needs to be but it’s nice to be nice especially if it shows up that’s why we are there, regardless though it’s a great wee place for lunch or dinner. The Buffalo pizza is… 🔥🤤 Keep it up guys!

Great food, superb service, and overall a great atmosphere. The music playing on the night we went (Thursday) was a little loud, so you had to raise your voice to be heard, stay away from the tables next to the plants in the window as we were constantly plagued by flying bugs.

Good place for an easy underground meal. Burgers, pizza, vegetarian, beer, etc. Took the kids, all were happy. Word of warning, it's the kind of place that likes to make dishes too big to hold onto, bite into, or hold together. Prepare to get messy.

Food is standard "American diner" style but you can tell the quality of the produce used isn't quite up there. Which is a shame as if the ingredients were better then the food standard would improve immeasurably. Staff are great though and there are regular promos.

Portions are excellent. Half price cocktails on a Sunday was a pleasant surprise. Chicken burger was huge without need to be upsold a handful of chips like so many places. Couldn't finish the deepdish pizza and had to take half home. Only slight disappointment was the pizza was quite sloppy - most of the core was filled with a mince ragu and a bit short of substance, never mind difficult to eat.

My friend had been hearing positive reviews, we decided to give it a try, we were not disappointed. A superb lunch, thoroughly enjoyed. . We both elected for the T/C mac’n’cheese with the buffalo chicken and hotsauce, accompanied by smoke'n'spice crinkle cut fries. . The mac’n’cheese was creamy, spicy, and just delicious. The fries were addictive and big enough to share at lunch time. . I'd definitely go back!

Buck's Bar's sister company so you know the food and vibe will be on point. It certainly meets those expectations. I don't know of any other places in Glasgow that do chicago style deep dish pizza pies but I'd be willing to bet that thundercat puts them to shame. This was the first place I visited after lockdown measures were eased and I felt safe and at ease here. Good lager on draught and plenty of good food options on the menu. 5 stars!

Went there for a leaving do and took my son with me, my friends had to help me down the stairs with the buggy, and there is no nappy changing area. My friend treated me to lunch today. We hadn't eaten in here for years (since it was Bar Soba) so wondered if it was still as good (for food, value and service). We needn't have worried. We were very impressed with the young men and women who looked after us very well. Food was yummy; we shared three small plates (burnt beef, mac cheese and boneless chicken wings) with sides of coleslaw and crinkle cut chips. I wasn't too impressed with mac cheese (it could have been cheesier and warmer) but otherwise, everything was very tasty. Certainly not high end dining, but for a tasty bite to eat at reasonable price with lovely staff, you could do a lot worse! Give it a go.

Efficient service, pizza dough is excellent but the filling is lacking in flavour plus more bread than filling. Didn't like the hot dog, over cooked and bread poor. Tater tots are stodgy brilliance and fries crispy and moreish . The milkshakes where delicious if a little watery. Oh, the boneless wings are just chicken strips, just get buffalo wings, they are god level.

Great place for food n drinks for the whole family. Portions are big tho, no massive so keep that in mind! There wasn't a kids menu but the team were great and we ordered hotdog n chicken burger from the main menu and they made it plain but size was still big!

If you like deep dish pizza this is the place to get it. The menu is quite large so if you don't like pizza there are plenty of other options. When we went we had three sides/starters, two pizzas and three soft drinks and it came to £46. There could have been a bit more pepperoni on one of the pizzas. The buffalo sauce is spicy! The staff where attentive and on the ball. Checked if everything was ok for both starters and mains. Pet hate is asking for the bill and waiting ages but it came right away then the card machine.

Friday night review: Food and drink were good but the level of music is just ridiculous. It was so loud and everyone had to shout to get heard. Waitress is clearly speaking to us but no idea what she said. I suppose they're trying to create some sort of atmosphere but I think it's well out of place if you're wanting to get something to eat, catch up with friends or enjoy a restaurant experience. Honestly it was so loud it was off-putting. Less is more.

Just... okay. Ambience was a real plus, but the food and the wait times were really disappointing. The building is really nice, with an amazing vibe owing to the lights, black and red color scheme, and music. However, the food was a bit weak. Ordered the Chicago style deep dish, and the crust was overly charred and the sauce was distributed unevenly, with most in the center of the pie. Pieces fell apart when I cut into them. Additionally, we waited for around 40 minutes, which is a bit too much, to be very honest. Overall, meh. Go here when drinks can be drunk inside

Pizza saves the day! And what a pizza it was! My friend got the Italian sausage pizza and couldn't finish it so I snagged myself some dinner redemption. I got the disappointing smashed bacon cheese burger which was inappropriately served in a plastic basket. Another friend got the Italian meat sub (in French dip) and reported a stale sub but otherwise good. Add in a long wait for food and so many moving lights in the place and it gets 3 out of 5 donkeys maximum.

We ate here on a crazy busy Saturday night as a group of 5. Service from Dani was incredible; attentive, friendly and efficient. We had drinks within 5 mins of sitting down! We ordered a selection of starters and sides, two pizzas and two sandwiches as it all looked so good! Special mention to the street corn, the mac and cheese, the beef sandwich and the cobb salad. All so tasty! The signature deep dish pizzas are incredible and unlike any other pizza served in Glasgow. The buttermilk base is so flavoursome - I reckon you could happily eat that on its own! We were celebrating a birthday and Ashleigh went out of her way to organise candles and sing happy birthday to my sister. Top marks all round and we’ll definitely be back!

Ordered an Italian sausage deep dish pizza and a munchy box for collection . although the pizza topping tasted amazing they had sealed the pizza in a foil container and then placed in the pizza box . this had the side effect of steaming the pizza base and making the crust soggy effectively ruining the pizza . this was a shame as im sure if they had just put the pizza in the pizza box it would have been fine .The contents of the munchie box were good especially the buttermilk chicken tenders and Cajun lemon wings
