Cant fault it for the money. Pretty much everything on the menu is 10 pounds. Portions were large. Taste was good. Catered well to a large group and friendly staff.

Tucked away from the main roads, this is a rare find that is DEFINITELY worth a visit.
The food was of a superb standard, with any steak that was requested to be cooked to a certain standard (medium rare & rare were our two) cooked to perfection.
The main courses arrived with a satisfying delay as they were cooked to order - and leaving us salivating with the smells coming from there kitchen.
Although we didn't use it, there was a skittles alley at the rear of the venue. Furthermore, if you're worried about leaving your dogs in the car, or at home, then don't. Well behaved dogs are welcome throughout the building!
Speaking of "the building", don't be put off by the exterior. It shows small windows that are gently lit from inside, possibly looking like it's closed. If it's during published hours, then they are open - and inside is a dining room, bar area and the mentioned alley - definitely larger on the inside than the outside.
The WiFi is free, the password clearly displayed, and the connectivity is good throughout. There's even good coverage outside, so if you need to have a smoke, you can still surf away.
This is a pub that we have passed hundreds of times, as it's on our way home - but never stopped to try it. During the summer there are people outside, sitting on the wall directly outside or in the garden to the front. Driving home on a hot summer evening, passing the Spring and politely waiting for people to cross the road with drinks balanced - the temptation to stop, park up and go in so, so high; I've no idea why we hadn't been in before, but you can guarantee that we will be visiting many times in the future.
All in all, an excellent pub with divine food too.

A genuine local venue. Had a lovely Christmas meal here with my family. The food was excellent, it was reasonably priced and the ambience is nice. Parking is a bit tight but there is enough unless the place is packed to the rafters.

A lovely, friendly local in an incredible out of the way setting. We spent a delightful hour there on a beautiful Sunday evening. Dogs running loose through the garden, regulars engaging us in conversation, great beers.

Had lunch today with friends who live at Ross on Wye, a nice atmosphere in what seems to be a very friendly pub. Also I could not believe the quality and price of the food, probably half the cost of what I would pay in Hampshire.
