A fantastic place for a meal. A hidden gem as they say. Went in one morning for the full English Breakfast. It was so good. Even came with toast.

Delicious food (traditional English Sunday brunch) and friendly staff

Superb little find on Gloucester docks. Restaurant was easily accessible and very roomy and explicitly clean.
Menu had a varied choice and daily menu board was on offer
Excellent table service. Food was both hot and tasty. Couldn't resist a pudding too.
Good value for money.
Toilets were available to use and again very clean.
Thank you

... really don't want to review as don't want everyone to know about this hidden gem !!!
Found by just wandering around the quay side , small restaurant offering fantastic home made tasting food at very fair prices!!
We had a Sunday roast which was lovely!! One of best I've had for a while .. they do a 1 , 2 or 3 course deal . No alcohol but bring your own is no problem. Soft drinks fairly priced.. so I've left the best bit to last.. !!!@@@
The crumble !!! Choice of rhubarb or apple . I had the rhubarb with icecream..
Seriously best I've had since me nan made when I was a kid !!! I would go back just for that .
Girlfriend had the Eton mess which looked great and she told me tasted amazing and home made ..
I will give this place a 12 out of 10 !!!
And not forgetting front of house A1 ..

I booked well in advance a meal for 12.30 on the day I would be visiting places in Gloucester. Having spent as much time as I could at my first place of interest, I checked on-line for The Barge Restaurant and found that they were open. I got there at around 11.00 and was told that lunch might be prepared as early as 11.45 or even 11.30.
I settled into a soft drink 🍸 and was served my prawn cocktail 🍸 around 11.15. My main course was presented 🎁 just after 11.30. I knew immediately that it would keep me going well through the day.... and it did. It was no surprise that I needed a second pint of that soft drink to was the food down.
The early meal allowed me ample time to get to the bus station (Gloucester Transport Hub) at my leisure having taken in another local attraction on the way.
This all meant that I was in a good frame of mind for when I reached Kingsholm Stadium 🏟 for two matches. It was a shame that Cardiff lost the latter game but I could throw the earlier result back at Gloucester fans who engaged in friendly banter. That result was Gloucester 7 - 44 Hartpury.
Besides the food at The Barge, I also liked the old-time music that they played.

Lovely little place and very nice staff.
Portions could be better and it would be nice to have been given some suggestions on what to eat as we were visiting the area and not sure what to choose.

A real little gem in the historic dockyard area of Gloucester Docks. We had the extremely good value, £10.95 set lunch menu. A choice of 2 courses from Starter, Main and Dessert, and had no complaints.
Lovely and clean facilities and excellent service.
It felt good to support a little independent when you consider the close proximity of well known National chains.

Very pleasant little restaurant. We had a Sunday roast which was brilliant and perfectly cooked. However, doesn’t serve alcohol; so bring your own. Very friendly and polite service.
