We all love the delicious, freshly cooked fish which Carl and his staff prepare, the chips are always tops and combine that with reasonable priced food and friendly service. I have to drive 3 hours to get here but it's worth it.
The chippies in Hull use, I think, beef dripping in their fryers and it makes all the difference. If I'm ever in Hull I visit Cave Street Fisheries.
One important thing to note, however - they close at 8.00pm.

B. N.I live in Des Moines and have been visiting Hull since 1995. Cave Street Fisheries reigns supreme in a city with several great chippies. I go for the fish but everything I've had is superb and the staff is gracious. When I last popped in on a rainy afternoon in October '19, I ordered mine wrapped up for takeaway as I wanted to eat at my mate's house. The proprietor, a master fryer, gave me some complimentary chips in a cone for the walk back to Newland Ave. Fantastic! Cave Street is a great thing in a great old city.

Cooked to order so really hot and stayed hot on my journey home. 2 fish specials couldn't fault the portion size plenty for the Money at £12. Gutted no beans as and option but you can't have everything. Will definitely be back.
