Had a lovely meal here tonight. I get the feeling the layout is a little like Another well known fast food company. I do have to say tho it’s a very busy place to wait her eat in or take out. The staff are polite enough but don’t really have that little bit of customer service I would expect, I can only assume it’s because they are so busy, which is a shame really as it would Make a visit here perfect. The food is beautiful, I could have eaten it over and over again. The fries were pipping hot and crispy the kebab was again pipping hot and tasty behold belief. The spices were perfect and I could not have asked for a kebab better than I got. Well worth a visit.

Serious case of eyes bigger than my belly. Had the Boss Box and couldn't eat it all. However it was absolutely delicious and world's away from the typical greasy kebab usually experienced. Well worth a visit. Service was friendly, helpful and fast.

I was very excited to try German Donor Kebab ever since hearing that it was opening in Hull. I have seen the franchise before at Broadway Bradford but had yet to try it. Hull Live had reported it was opening ‘sometime in November’ but as per usual Hull live was wrong! 😂 The tab system they operate when eating in is very professional and modern and was explained well, the worker had to shout it to me due to a DJ playing decks in store (why?! It’s a restaurant not a club 😅). Speaking of, the live music was far too loud and was disruptive, wrong environment for an eating establishment, grand opening or not. Onto the food, the meats (chicken & doner) were flawless, not too dry or greasy, salad amazing, and the kebab bread tops it all of nicely. The saying ‘you eat with your eyes first’ applies well here, the kebab was so appealing and a good portion size (I went regular mixed at £5.99 although you can go large for £1.50 extra). The sauces that accompany the kebab are pleasant too, but quite standard. I couldn’t fault the kebab, incredible. Be prepared to eat messy, you will need all the napkins given! Get stuck in and enjoy! The Nachos however, slightly disappointing. You get roughly a handful of Doritos but my problem was with the salsa, it had soaked the nachos leaving a soggy sodden mess that was hidden by the toppings but believe me, the nachos were like ‘cereal left in a bowl of milk’. Please GDK, serve the salsa separate. It would also be better if the meats were slices up a bit more for the nachos as the consistency doesn't bode well. Had the Nachos not been soggy they would have been decent. Would I eat at GDK again? Absolutely, I have more of the menu to try and it makes a great change from the boring, worn out, slow serviced fast food outlets that have ruled the fast-food empire for decades. I’m sure you will know exactly who I mean 😂 both can actually be found on the same street! Keep it up GDK Hull, your food is fab.

I've heard so much about this place so decided to check out what all the fuss was about. The set up is quite good, there's screens to order or you can order at the tills. I ordered at the screen which was really easy, but one downside was the wait for the food. We must of had to wait 20 minutes from ordering which I think is far to long, there was a few people who ordered at the tills who got their meals before ours. When the food finally arrived it was worth the wait, it was fresh and tasted fantastic! It would of been a 5 star but the wait for the food was a little too long.

Often come here when I’m in town. Was there today, food always fresh and nice. Staff friendly enough. Even my toddler ate some of the food so must be good. Love the gym box with extra meat, but I shouldn’t get it with fries. But I’m ashamed to say I do cos I can’t resist. It then becomes a fat boy box. Anyway, still beaut. Will eat there again. One word, Fantastic. This place is definitely worth trying at least once we will be back again though to try more of the menu. Worth the wait and worth the cost. Sunday lunchtime and got seated straight away surprising considering what we've heard about ques here. Got a menu each and didn't think the pricing is bad. A meal of chips kebab and a drink for £8.99 similar to what KFC or Burgerking will cost you for a meal. The menu also has quite a selection of options and they do various meats. We ordered two original meals with mixed meat, one with extra meat for £1.50, we them got 6 of the spring rolls again mixed meats. Despite waiting for what seemed like ages when the food came we weren't disappointed, a 250ml can of coke, a fair portion of fries and a good sized kebab. The kebab come with sauce and veg inside in a flatbread, even the original was overflowing with filling. The spring rolls each had a different meat it so it seemed and they have jalapenos in them, those that don't like spice might be best to avoid. The chips were nothing special in all honesty, the spring rolls are very nice and a refreshing change from other side options, the main star is the kebab. The Doner meat isn't greasy like regular kebab shops you can taste the meat and the chicken is full of flavour aswell. We found the portion sizes to be filling, my wife took half of hers home for later, very filling. Only disappointing thing was the drink being a small can of coke. The restaurant looked clean and tidy with ample seating, lots of staff rushing about seemingly not doing anything though. Yes they brought our order to us but they kept bringing other orders to us as they issued wrong "order ready" pucks to people allegedly. Was asked if the food was ok halfway through by a random member of staff who then asked us to review them on Facebook and giving her name in the review. This seems strange as the staff didn't seem to be doing anything but this, only a few customers had food brought to them from what I saw.

Definitely not a place for a quick bite to eat. They were very swamped and when ordering at the kiosks there was a seperate area to collect take away from normal orders which wasn't clearly marked out. After waiting 15 mins we finally got it full of grease but not too bad. Definitely a unique taste and first time I've ever tried a diner kebab burger.

Been here a few times now and always left satisfied with the food. The only problem is how little staff they have!! We waited 40 minutes to order our food and then wait for it (we ordered for take away)!!! There's only two tills at the front so if you're paying cash expect to be stood near 10 mins to be served We've used the self service screens a couple of times but even then you're still waiting ages for the food to be made and handed over The staff are good - it's just the waiting times that seems to be an issue

It's nice but you really don't get allot for your money. I selected the go large 100g of beef option and didn't receive it. What I got was a small mouthfull of meat and a handful chips. Not really worth £6 if I'm honest. But then again this branch is in Hull and people from Hull are not known for their intelligence or their kindness so maybe that's why I got such a small portion. Will try instore next time.

If you haven't tried German Doner Kebab in Hull City Centre, then you don't know what you're missing! I had this very delicious mixed doner kebab (beef & chicken) with chips and cheese. Very filling too. Staff were friendly. Plenty to choose from the menu. I had to deduct 1 star due to seating. There's not enough seating in this very busy restaurant. I actually can't wait for my next visit to GDK 🤤🤤🤤

Being used to better quality Döner Kebab shops in Germany operated like a fish&chip shops in the UK, this fast food style does not work. Long waits because of a chaotic kitchen struggling to prepare the food to order. It does not meet expectations.

Was anticipating a pleasant experience given all the hype from family members etc but actually just got a cold kebab that really didn’t taste much different at all from a regular donner kebab. A lot more packaging too despite not actually even coming in the box displayed on the menu. Not sure if it’s because it was delivery and/or a weekend, but was missing one of the spring rolls (which were really greasy) and didn’t feel like there was even 100 grams of meat in there at all let alone the extra I paid for. Fries were small and the curry flavouring on them really not that nice. Bit disappointed really but at least Uber eats issued a partial refund for missing items. The only stand out bit was the bread but even that was pretty soggy from the salad. I’m not that hard to please 😂 but this was just not what was expected at all. Hopefully a one off - though have read other reviews about missing items and seems like it’s a repeat offence. Sorry

A friend said that he thought it was basically just the German's take on McDonald's when we were there and I haven't been able to shake that image from my head. I think it's currently over hyped for what it offers but the food isn't bad overall. I had a beef doner wrap, which was inoffensive. Staff seem a bit fed up and service is slow due to the high demand.

I had been excited to try this place as I'd heard good things and decided to visit for a late lunch. The Good: There was plenty of seating but I have passed when it's been a lot busier. The place was clean and tidy. Food came quickly to the table so pleased with that. Prices were reasonable. All of the sauces were nice, especially the peppery tomato one. The Bad: No lamb option. Why????? Can't really be called a doner if it lacks lamb. My son opted for a burger which looked nice but was greasy. I chose the mixed meat with fries and cheese. This was very greasy. I know it's a doner but I actually thought it was more greasy than most of the take aways I've used. The meat was salty and lacked other flavours. It was filling enough but wasn't anything special. The spring rolls were ok but a bit expensive for what they were. I didn't enjoy it enough to want to go back. There's better options in that price range and better, more authentic tasting kebab places locally for a little bit more money.

Hit and miss. First 2 times were great, really good kebabs and fries, everything you could ask for, with a decent portion size too. 3rd time not that good at all. It was very busy at about 6pm on a Wednesday, kitchen looked chaotic, quite a long queue.. and pretty much everything on the order was either wrong, missing or undercooked. It's not really acceptable to pay for toppings or fries seasoning and not get it. Sort of hoping not to get food poisoning, the meat was pretty anaemic as they weren't really giving it enough time before going back at it. Basically seemed like no one was checking anything before it went out. Fast food places just shouldn't crack under pressure like that, more training obviously needed. By all means go when it's quiet, as it can be really good, but if it looks fairly busy then give it a miss and go somewhere else, as you probably won't get a satisfactory meal.

Donner was very delicious and would eat it every day of the week. The portion sizes are quite small for a £7.99 donnerchips box which is enough for a boy/early teens. Many people have complained of waiting for 40mins plus for takeaway which is absolutely standard delivery time around hull so thts actually good delivery timing. Although I have to say due to the boxed packaging the food did get look warm and the chips weren't crunchy or crispy but soft n little soggy. I'd recommend to reheat donner for a delicious experience. I've yet to experience dining in which I'm hoping to vist soon. Can't wait for the mouth watering finger licking experience.

Food absolutely first class which is what the review is getting 5 stars for. I have been 3 times it’s so good. Get a takeaway and each time something has been forgotten from the order when getting the extras. Please get this right and you will have the full first class experience as it’s frustrating when you get home and haven’t got everything you paid for.

Also alot of the time things are missing.. 1 time no sauces, another no drink, they need to check the orders better. I think the main thing i dont like is the foods are not labelled.. as someone who only eats chicken this is an issue.. if you have placed an order with work friends trying to work out whos is who, they definitely should be labelling food.. beef, chicken or mixed.

Tried this tonight, although the restaurant was full we didn't have to wait long for our food, which was lovely, I'd definitely eat there again...if u haven't tried, give it a go
