S. G.Great little bistro can get busy so good to book and it’s only a small kitchen, so can take time, but food is fresh and delicious. This tuna steak was amazing. Highly recommend

We had The Pork fillet ravioli plus the mushroom risotto which where both really nice .
We also had the freshly made strawberry cheesecake which was lovely .
A return visit soon is on the cards .

Food of top quality, taste, presentation, ingredients amazing...
Sadly the Seabass wasn't available nor the king prawns, (possibly due to it been a Saturday night and very busy) , we shared a platter to start which hit the spot and tasted great... For mains I had the lamb which was perfection, my partner had a chicken and creamy mushroom sauce dish which was equally devine... and the chips, wow!
Lovely authentic place, staff very friendly and helpful, was very busy but we didn't have to wait to long, wouldn't have minded if we had though, it's worth it.
Highly recommended, and we will be back.

a.Rather expensive for not a lot of food. My meal was a few pasta parcels, with no extras. More like a starter and I went home feeling hungry. A pity, as the staff were excellent.

Hull has a lot to offer with regard to independent restaurants and this has been my favourite one I've visited so far.
The flavours of each course explode in your mouth with every bite.
Such a wide variety of choice of main courses. Not your usual pizza and pasta italian restaurant. I personally recommend the belly pork.
J. R.A bit chaotic, seated upstairs and was excessively noisy. Waited 25 minutes before we got drinks. Requested a table downstairs, which was accommodated and a whole different experience. Food ok, but don't think I'd rush back.

N.As always the last 3 years I have visited this place for various occasions it has been absolutely fantastic service as always food is exquisite the flavours seep right through portion size is seemingly perfect and the the pricing is fair for the quality definitely a must for anyone thinking of visiting ideal for all occasions 😋😋😋
I. B.As ever a friendly welcome followed by a usual high standard of food. I had the fillet of steak as this was our first visit back since lockdown and a time to celebrate in our local goto Restaurant.

T. S.A great choice for well prepared meals served by very friendly waiting staff in a cosy restaurant. My beef stroganoff was flavourful and the beef was cut into generous portions. Staff seem to genuinely care about your experience and they make you want to revisit.

P. M.Our party of 7 went in early November for my birthday. I have in the past left 5 star reviews for Piccolo, but sadly on this occasion the service was not so good. The restaurant was very busy but we were kept waiting a long time , even to order, as well as between courses. We were nearly two hours before we got our main course, and they forgot my meal! They kindly didn't charge me, and the food was excellent as usual, but we did feel a bit neglected. It was a disappointing birthday experience. I am sad because I like going there and the chef is excellent, but the service needed to be improved on this occasion.

T. B.Food was nice enough, ambience good and the service was friendly but not really that efficient. Young waiting staff who could probably do with a bit more training and/or experience e.g. if, when clearing the table, you spill someone's drink, even if there's only an inch or two in the glass, you should offer some form of recompense particularly if the drink has been splashed on another person in the party! Don't just mutter an apology and walk away. We had a long wait between courses to the point where a server came over and asked whether there was anything else she could get us, obviously thinking we we're just loitering over our drinks when actually we were waiting for our mains! I had the seafood pizza at £13.75. It was served with mussels in the shell cooked on the pizza but one hadn't opened so really should have been removed in case it was bad. The pizza looked appetizing and tasted good for the first few mouthfuls. After that, however, all I could taste was chilli which completely overwhelmed the seafood, even the anchovies. I might as well have had a spicy hot one or similar. The fishcakes I had for a starter were delicious, cooked just right and served in wonderful sauce. I'd have the fishcakes again and would visit this restaurant again. If you've not tried the place, I'd recommend you giving it a go.

J. d.Cosy little place with excellent Italian food. The waiting staff were all very professional and friendly. The head waiter clearly took time out to put appropriate music on to suit the diners that were in and kept it at a level so that we could speak without shouting at each other. The food was top quality in every respect, exactly as described, hot, well presented and mouthwateringly tasty. Highly recommend the seabass, venison, crumble and creme brulee. We will be back very soon.
L. P.One of the best restaurants in Hull. Piccolo is on the quieter Chanterlands Avenue, don't miss out, it is well worth a visit. This restaurant is superb, the food is wonderful, cooked to order and is like a work of art on the plate. The staff are friendly and are passionate about food as it the owner who us happy to chat with you. I would highly recommend you try Piccolo you will not be disappointed.
