First time at this pub, food pretty good very similar to a spoons and the prices too. Would recommend.

Best place for steak. Been many places. This beats them hands down. Been here a few times now for steak only. Recommended to anyone. As update. Tried The old faithful burger with two grilled chicken burgers topped with bacon. American style cheesy slice and bbq sause. (Delicious, enjoyed every bite.) Hunters chicken nachos.( really nice flavours. Tasty. Got for two. Picture uploaded) and for pudding chocolate fudge cake with icecream and a caramel apple crumble with custard and ice cream. ( honestly i could eat 3 caramel apple crumbles). Complements to chef.

I ordered from here for the first time tonight on just eat. I got the 7oz gammon, salad and beer battered salt and pepper mushrooms. They ram within minutes to let me know that they didn't have one of the ingredients for the salad and was kind enough to put other extras into it, the man I talked to was very helpful and polite. And what can I say about the food, definitely the best gammon I have had in a long time, everything I got was beautiful and came piping hot and very quick. Thankyou I will definitely be ordering agin x

The staff are 10/10 was so nice and welcoming , our food was running late so we was given a free drink. We wasnt bothered about it running late as we was in no rush , but thought it was really nice that they came over and apologised and gave us a free round, Unfortunately the food was really not nice today , but i have previously ate here in the past and it was lovely , would definitely go in again but maybe just for drinks.

Came in for a drink and chat as no cafes open now on the Avenue. Service quick but coffee left under machine as he forgot whilst serving my friend and then he disappeared!. We sat in the restaurant as it was lighter and a table full of dirty plates was a long time being cleared!! There were chips on the floor and the waitress never cleared them up when clearing the table so it looked a mess. The young man was pleasant and kept himself busy. I actually was landlady of the Avenue for two years in 1972_74. We had a jukebox room where the extension is and a "beer,.off" a carpeted lounge was at the back.

Booked a table for 7 told to turn up 15 mins before time dissapointed to be told we didnt book you a table said its quiet sit where you like not very profesional this was in between staff member drinking a glass of water or lemonade but must admit the food was very Good and the young man who served us was friendly and cheerful

Staff are ignorant to people that dont alway drink in the place. They spend to much time talking to the locals. Ok so it's now the 27/12/18. Update. What a brilliant overhaul this place has had. Not quite sure what's happened staff are freindly and food is good pub grub. I had the peper jack stack burger which comes with chips. The buger was hot and chips had just come out of the fryer. Partner had bbq Hunter chicken. Again hot and tasty. Well done the Avenue

Experience based on short time on the job. First off the staff are incredible, they always have a smile on their face. Louis operating with ease and charm. Ella with her grand smile and stunning laugh. Ben's no nonsense attitude and sense of humour. Dais' smile and determination to help me. Josh and his great accent and comforting manner. They were always willing to help me when I needed them to and the owner was always fun to joke around with, having some best laughs I have ever heard. The food was wonderful every time I had it, and there was a large selection available and now with restrictions lifting you can now go to the bar to order food. Their ability to pull drinks with ease is a force to be reckoned with. The star of the show was the customer centred approach, everyone knew everyone and the locals welcomed me with open arms. The banter between staff and the customers was incredible and getting know these people was a pleasure. Despite me having to step down so early on, there is no doubt that based on my experience I will be vising this establishment as much as possible.

The Avenue, Hull is the perfect place to get a nice pint. A large selection of drinks, spirits and food is available and the food menu is tasty. Nice, friendly staff are always on hand to help at any time. Due to covid it's table service on the sizzling app or staff are there to take your order. Good system set up and highly recommended

Had a lovely meal with friends, they accommodated a large group of 8, staff were very helpful with looking up ingredients in their meals because of an intolerance 1 member of our party had. It was busy but not overly on a Monday night and we managed good conversation without having to shout at each other. Would recommend.

My favourite local quiz night, by a country mile. I don't often get to visit, but it's always a fun evening, the staff and patrons are always friendly, if competitive, but that just adds to the atmosphere. I think the quiz is informally run, and the customers take it in turns to host it, and write the questions. Always scrupulously fair, if challenging, if you're a wannabe intellectual like me, you will find yourself titilated. Come along, they serve very good pub grub, and it's a warm welcome. Cheques in the post (hopefully) ❤️

This place has something for everyone, it's one of the few places in this part of Hull where you can get a nice pint of real ale. It has a vaults as well which is like a sports bar. The bar staff are very friendly and helpful too. Not tried the food so can't comment but they have a Bass real ale and a couple of changing pumps.

Visited this pub last night with work friends for tea.. service at the bar was good. I opened a tab so that as friends arrived i could just add them. The lady that served me was friendly. The man that brought our food was brilliant. The food was lovely. When it was time to leave a couple hours later 9pm there was only one bar staff serving 2 bars..i stood for a hood 5 minutes before going to the back bar to see the only member of staff. The pub was quite busy by this time. I told the man jokingly that i could have done arunner..he didnt respond and i know he was busy but could have at least smiled. I paid my bill and stood waiting for a receipt..i wasnt offered one. He looked put out when i asked for one. The visit apart from this was great...more staff should have been on as the large bar wasnt manned for at least ten minutes that i saw. Plus there were other people waiting for drinks.
