Such an amazing evening here for my 20th birthday. The servers were so attentive and food was sensational (not to mention the cocktails which I couldn't stop ordering). Had a wonderful meal here a few days ago. The photo shows my Buddha Bowl in the foreground, which was a superb spread of vibrant flavours, and Tofu balls in the background. Really tasty vegan food in this all vegan pub. The beers were also vegan and I had a good pint of Boudicca Spiral, a dark beer. Quite quiet early on a Friday evening and looked pretty quiet on other occasions we walked past.

I’m a London local and have been a vegan for a couple of years now, and while the London vegan food scene is great and always getting better, Hank’s is possibly the best vegan food I have ever eaten! We were a small group with ages ranging from 19 to 70+ and there was something delicious on the menu for everyone. Vegan food is often overpriced, but not here, Hank’s has high quality, well priced, and absolutely delicious food, with excellent customer service to match. Wether you’re vegan or not, if you ever find yourself near Hank’s, do yourself a favour and get on in there. You won’t regret it.

If anyone's looking for a new restaurant to try, I would 100% recommend Dirty Hanks vegan restaurant. For meat eaters who would argue vegan food is tasteless, don't be haters, this was amazing, so creative, and the staff were all bloody lovely!

I have been wanting to try this place for a while. It didn't disappoint. I had a hoisin burger which was fantastic. The biscoff cheesecake, which I really didn't need but had to try, was equally impressive. Staff were friendly, the beer was also one of the best pints I've had in a long time. Don't go to hanks because it's Vegan, go there because they produce some truly amazing food.

I've eaten here twice with my partner, and we have loved both visits! The pub itself is quite cosy outside (haven't eaten inside yet), and this is only elevated by the warmth the staff members show towards customers (particularly from the person who has blue hair, and the person who has tattoos, glasses, and long black hair tied back - you guys are awesome and probably some of the nicest staff we've been served by!). The food on both occasions has come out at a speedy rate, and the food itself is delicious and of a high quality. We could not fault anything we ate. The prices are reasonable as well. We also love that it's 100% vegan. Would recommend to everyone!

Really nice burgers and as someone who is not vegetarian or vegan thats saying something. In fact the burgers are far better than most meat based burgers I have had. Hanks Ale, not a bad pint either. I'll be going again.

Cool totally vegan pub/ dinner, good service, nice menu. We didn't actually realise it was a vegan restaurant until the menus arrived. However, with the help of our waitress we were able to order two very nice and substantial meals. Would definitely recommend trying their seitan (chicken substitute). Also had a cool collection of American soft drinks. We went mid-week for lunch and it was extremely quiet for such a large venue.

Can't recommend it highly enough! Fantastic food, a great menu with some really creative options, and a lengthy wine/beer/drinks list! I love that they make suggestions for the drinks that go well with each item on the menu, and that quite a lot of what they serve is sourced locally. Great to be able to choose anything on the menu, what a delight! I'm pretty sure even my non vegan friends would enjoy a meal here! Staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for anybody. I can't wait to come back again and try out the other things on the menu, will definitely be a regular!

I was very fortunate to be able to visit Hanks Food & Pub twice during my stay in Ipswitch and it didn't disappoint. Both the burger with loaded nacho fries and the seitan steak with prawns was amazing and really yummy. Oh and not to forget the desserts too!!! 🤤I am really disappointed I can't go back sooner 😞 I would highly recommend a visit to anyone (unless you're on a strict diet) regardless of whether your vegan or an avid meat eater.

Great vegan food. Make the trip from South London to Norwich and back via ipswich each way to make sure we can pick something up. Miss the old diner in the middle of town, which had chicken shop/kebab vibes from my youth. I think they committed to the current location due to running costs and potentially most business being deliveries. Definitely worth a proper sit down visit if you are even passing through Suffolk at all and want something plant based. One of the best vegan eateries in the country.

Really friendly and welcoming staff. Sage burger and Bangkok burger were delicious. Tofu balls not so good, broccoli was not just al dente but uncooked. Dish had to be sent back as was cold, waiter very apologetic and replacement better but would not order again in the future. Desserts were scrumptious. Well worth a visit!

My meal was delicious, had the butternut squash and lentil parcel. Family said the burgers were good, none of them vegans. The only reason I give them a 3 instead of a 5 is because they gave one of our party, who is a celiac a pudding with gluten in. The waitress knew she was, the menu stated it was gluten free, but none of it was. She had to leave straight away and was quite ill because of it. So be very careful if you have any allergies

Ok first the bad, was shown to a dirty table with food all underneath waited ages for a drink ( I'm obviously to use to harvester where they force feed you 2 - 3 beers before you start 🤷🏻‍♂️ your losing money because I would have definitely participated. Seemed short staffed also..BUT "now the good" the food (spare ribs) was bloody delicious mate all 4 of us had something different And no complaints just for the food being so good all is forgiven I guess it was a busy night for you guys. It's an hours drive for me but can't wait to visit again. 👌🏼😘🥑

My Wife and I both got something a little different and enjoyed our meal greatly. As a Vegetarian my wife was happy to order foods shes normally excluded from. As a carnivore I enjoyed the novelty of eating classic americana while it also being vegan. I really enjoyed the serving size and the flavor of all the topping on my chili dog, i just think the dog itself missed a mark. Maybe try figuring out a carrot dog(which ive had once and it was spectacular) Give this place a visit with an open mind and a hungry stomach. They wont leave you disappointed.

It's a cosy little pub, and a total pub experience - but with vegan food! The bunnernut pie was amazing and the staff was so friendly. We felt the portion sizes were quite small for the price, but understand that the pandemic might have caused prices to be the way they are. The music was a little odd (it went from sounding like Lord of the Rings, which was totally mellow, to a 90s discotech for a song or two). Otherwise we had a really nice experience and definitely recommend it to any vegan folks in Ipswich.

Had a delivery for New Year’s Eve. Arrived before expected time which was brilliant. Great communications and even better food than expected. Mixed doner kebab was amazing. Loads of meat and salad. I've been here a good few times. Its the sort of. place that's great to go to with friends and equally with families. I always take my dog and he's made very welcome. I wasn't sure about vegan food. When I go out to eat I like to indulge and the thought of vegan food wouldn't or at least wasn't high on my list but after shopping in Hanks deli and really enjoying the foods I sampled, I decided to give it a go. The food is amazing. I had no idea you could make vegan food taste so good. Even my dog who is the fussiest dog on this planet, loves the taste of their burgers! Its not a restaurant on a health mission; this place serves real indulgences. Seriously guys, this is great food served by friendly staff where nothing is too much trouble.

Hanks Dirty is a nice vegan restaurant and take away in the centre of Ipswich. It’s on Lloyds avenue so easy access to get to. We’ve also had a take away from there for a birthday party which was really tasty! Definitely recommend.

OK. So the food is tasty, you can't really tell your not having meat. That's the good thing. The bad thing is that the food is expensive for the potion sizes; and talking about potion sizes.. a friend had the moroccan 'lamb' tagine; it came in two separate small dishes with a small salad. He got food envy from 3 other friends who had a large burger and chips. There wasn't much in the price and no real reason for the large potion size difference. I had the hunters chicken, which was nice but drowned in bbq sauce at the expense of any other taste. We had the shared nachos platter and the shared anti pasta platter. Both really good and easily the best thing on the menu. The desserts were OK, nothing really special; although I wouldnt go for the brownies as, although large, the brownies was rock hard. Drinks were £2+ for anything on the non-alcholic menu. The mocktails were EXPENSIVE, and from what my friend said disappointing and small. Would I go again? Probably not unless I was invited and couldn't convince my vegan friends to go somewhere else. The 3 stars are mainly for the decor, cleanliness and waiting staff; who although took their time getting our orders, were funny and attentive. Oh, and the fact I count really tell I wasn't eating chicken.

Amazing! All food is 100% vegan, with plenty of gluten free options to. We had the cheese board and seitan wings- they were both so delicious! Perfect for anything from just a quick drink to a full on 3 course meal or Sunday roast. It's got traditional decor inside, so it feels nice and cozy like any other great pub- except you don't have to research which drinks are vegan friendly before ordering! I recommend this place to everyone, even if you're not vegan, as it's just that great :)

We went last night as a foursome, with our Vegan friends, we are not Vegan ourselves. The atmosphere was very nice and relaxed, also very Covid safe, the staff very attentive, they were happy to discuss the food and explain the ingredients. We started with the calamari, and also the nachos. For main courses we had seafood linguini, the burger and fish and chips. All were very tasty and presented in such a way that you wouldn’t know the difference. Whilst there was slight differences in texture etc, frankly I was very impressed, and will not hesitate to return. How nice, we now have somewhere to go with our friends, where everyone can find something that they like on the menu.

I absolutely love Hank's food, but their service has really gone downhill more recently. Their delivery regularly arrives well over an hour late, and this effects the quality of the food with fries getting soggy etc. - a real shame when I know how awesome their food can be! I really hope they resolve this as they were our go-to takeaway and we now are becoming reluctant to order as we have to prepare ourselves for a 2+ hour wait on delivery if we do.

Great food goes without saying which is why we repeat order however the latest order was missing an item and not only did they resolve but they did so with such complete integrity and professionalism that I wish my business acted the same. - Absolutely delightful food (and their sauces!) - Superb service and very friendly - Great, spacious venue - Will definitely be going again to explore more of the menu - Draft beer could be slightly colder - Only reason this isn't 5 stars is because we went to their supermarket straight afterwards (due to their food and sauces) and picked up a couple of their sauces, which were all being sold for £3.95. We were told one of the sauces was actually £4.95 at the checkout (despite it being labelled as £3.95 on all bottles) and forced to pay the difference. Having worked in the service business, this was quite disappointing as it was clearly their error, we had already dropped nearly £150 on lunch and drinks for us and they refused to knock the £1 off. This is one of those times where the price is irrelevant and it was just the lack of good customer service skills which left a slightly bitter taste in the mouth of an otherwise flawless experience. Regardless, I am confident next time will be 5* and I highly recommend both the restaurant and the supermarket.

Good beer but sadly let down by the food, had the Hanks Wellington as part of the Sunday roast deal, yorkshire pudding was heavy and stodgy, the stuffing was also stodgy, two smallish slices of wellington which was actually nice. Dessert of apple pie and custard, tasted good but sadly the pie was cold and custard hot, would have been nice if pie was warm. Maybe a few teething issues as hasn't been open very long. Service was good, very friendly and lovely staff.

Great and tasty vegan food at reasonable prices. It's junk food but at least its cruelty free so I can feel a sense of moral superiority. However, delivery times are disappointing and perhaps they should consider providing a decent service to one area before expanding to Felixstowe and Colchester. Only recently has delivery times slipped from being on time to 30-60 minutes late, nobody wants soggy chips.

Upon arrival at Hank's Pub we were greeted with a warm welcome and taken to our table. I didn't know what drink I fancied, so a mocktail was suggested based on my request for a 'non-alcoholic, light and refreshing drink with a bit of zing', and I wasn't disappointed with the 'Light & Stormy' I was presented with, it ticked all the boxes. We had booked a table for the Chinese theme night, which consisted of 5 small plate courses of fresh, home-made food, which was beautifully presented, delicious and appropriately portioned; both myself (vegan) and my fellow diner (omni) were really impressed. The staff were professional, friendly and attentive throughout the evening, and observed safe practices in line with the guidance for dining out in these unprecedented times. This pub is a must, for everyone!

Oh wow! Mind blowing. If I could eat here every day, I'd happily turn vegan (says a life long carnivore). The food is stand-alone delicious, and in my experience, tastier than its meaty alternative. Creative concoctions on the international menu. No sign of a lentil stew or nutroast anywhere. You have to get in on the ground floor with this one so that you'll be able to tell your grandkids (or greatgrandkids) of the time you first ate at a Hanks. Dirty Vegan convert.

Beginning to think they're magicians...nobody can make vegan food this delicious ! The hot dog and cheesy fries are a favourite in our house even with Son who loves meat. Daughter (vegetarian) is so pleased to have a place where she can actually eat a full meal . Just tried the ribs and they are perfection !

I can't overexaggerate how good this place is. So many options!! And they deliver. My usual thing is dirty fries which is basically the contents of a kebab thrown over some chips with the ultimate burger which is everything you could possibly want from a burger. I struggle to finish it because they are good portions. My most recent order I decided to get something different, my omnivorous husband always goes mad for KFC's double down burger and I noticed Hank's was doing their own version for a limited time Holy sh*t, it was incredible. Husband tried it and was stunned by how good it was. I don't know how I'm gonna decide what to have next time.

Have only ordered delivery so far, but when pandemic settles will aim to visit in store. Had a hiccup with delivery, but after receiving a phone call from the restaurant they made it right and delivered promptly. The ultimate burger is an easy recommendation and the chick-hun supreme has a satisfying crunchy coating. I say this as an omnivore who generally enjoys a good beef burger, lamb burgers and a wide variety of meat I consider it an additional variety option.
