Delicious food, quick service and reasonable price. Definitely recommend this place for Thai food in Ipswich center. Green Curry with steamed rice was the standout dish for us, tom yum soup wasn't the best we have had. Kwan Thai's recommendation for starter was good.

Went with a friend and the owner was very gracious enough to accept us as walk ins for a Friday night dinner service. The food was absolutely exquisite and the servers were very friendly. Their 'Weeping Tiger' steak dish is most definitely their highlight. Would absolutely recommend this place!!!

A quick meal with friends before a football match. Always enjoy Thai food...and this was fantastic. Great friendly service, wonderful menu, great food and great flavours...all beautifully presented. This was everything I had looked for in a Thai restaurant. When back in Ipswich...this is where I will eat.

Just amazing food in a really nice old building with fantastic service. Chicken Musman Curry was amazing, and the Weeping Tiger is always fantastic. If you've not been, you really must! Can't recommend it highly enough.

2 out of 4 dishes were not good. Sent the noodke dish back as it was mushy and dark brown really not nice. The scallops is special thai sauce wasn't nice either. The starter was nice and the curry was nice but too hot, but that's just personal taste. Also we felt really rushed..... we were advised when hooking for 6.30 that we had to be out by 8.30pm but we had finished and rushed out by 7.30 not a pleasant relaxed meal. One staff started clearing our plates after we had said we hadn't finished! Such a shame as it was my birthday treat and I was really looking forward to it. Not worth the expensive treat of £67 to feel so disappointed

Probably the best Thai in the UK I've been to. I've been going to the Kwan Thai for well over a decade when I'm in Ipswich. I've tried many Thai's through the years, but I always compare them against this one. The food is superb. They really know what they're doing and do it to a very high standard. The staff are excellent and very attentive. I've never had to try and 'get someone's attention' even when they've been full to the rafters. It's a small place, so it has a nice cosy feeling. But, because its small it van feel a little claustrophobic for some. The only downside are the tiny loos, but their restricted by space because they're in a very old historic building. I will definitely be going back.

I've been there yesterday evening on a date night with my partner and we had the most amazing time! The staff is absolutely brilliant and welcoming and friendly and the food is out of this world! Loved it. Word of advice for Thai novices, go for the set menus, you get a good mix of starters and mains. The chilli beef is hot!! We got there for 6pm, a party of 6. Any later than 7.30pm and it starts to get busy. Dont worry though, the service is mega quick and friendly too. We ordered set menu G and K which got us starters and 9 mains. More than enough for 6. Worked out (with a few drinks) roughly £24 pp. So very reasonable for one of the most popular restaurants in town. Will definitely return.

Wonderful restaurant, food has never dissapointed me and the staff are always friendly, polite and don't just grunt at you. I would recommend this to anyone, and if you're not sure what to have the staff will highly recommend something and are knowledgeable about all of the dishes and ones they've personally tried and like. We even said to the waiter bring us three dishes, doesn't matter what they are. We were not disappointed.

Really nice truly Thai restaurant, you instantly get a feeling of Thailand the moment you step inside. The staff are very welcoming and kind, especially so if you can speak Thai! The food was amazing, in many different ways. The place is small but it feels cosy, not cramped. We were on a small two person table and didn't feel cramped even with Thai style cuisine. Overall lovely experience.

The starters were very nice and as expected for a good Thai restaurant. Unfortunately for us though the main courses were all very salty to the point where we didn't want to finish what we ordered. We could have really enjoyed our meal here as the atmosphere was very pleasant and the service was very fast. This was our first trip to the Kwan Thai restaurant and we were a bit disappointed after reading all the good reviews. My advice to chef is lay off on the salt a little and let the other flavours come through.

I have eaten here several times and the food, service and atmosphere have always been exceptional. Super tasty, imaginative dishes served with a friendly smile - what more could you want? However, they have gone above and beyond when it comes to their takeaway service. I had ordered an anniversary meal for my sister and brother in law via Just Eat to arrive at 6pm. The driver never arrived at the restaurant despite marking the order as collected. To make amends for Just Eat's terrible service, the lovely staff at Kwan Thai arranged to cook a fresh meal and drop it round to my sister personally within the hour. 100% recommend!

Had been waiting for the right day to have a meal from Kwan Thai. With the amount of stuff going on in the world, this was an out of this world takeaway. The starter of chicken wrapped in spinach (2) was amazing. The main course of Chilli Pork (31), chicken with spring onions (35), egg fried rice (90) and chicken pad Thai (93) made two early Valentines very happy. This is the food of love! Thank you

We normally eat-in when having food from Kwan Thai, but with Covid this is a bit harder, so we got takeout instead. The food, of course, is still really nice and tasty. The service and covid setup was well done and very clear. Kwan Thai is still the best Asian restaurant in Ipswich and the surrounding area I actually think the portions were bigger with takeout than eat-in; but that could be my imagination. Update: Covid restrictions are lifted and the food is as good eating in as eating out!

The Best Thai restaurant I have ever eaten in, we have eaten here a few times and the quality is brilliant every time. We used set menu's to find our favourite choices as it can introduce you to some thing you might not have chosen otherwise. But above all else make sure you try the starter platter and weeping tiger.

Average thai food. I have enjoyed some Thai cuisine last week. The restaurant offers most of its range of dishes in 3-4 variants (chicken, pork, beef or shrimps). Actually the cuisine is a building set and drinks are served by the bottle, no beer from tap. The ambiance is as expected but the service and the taste of the food is average. The sticky rice which came as side order was so sticky one-piece that it was really hard chopping off a single bite. At the end it took quite a while before the service was ready to prepare the bill.

I particularly like their green thaï curry. I went there for a date and with my friends several times, and we've never been disappointed.

Kwan Thai is a fantastic restaurant. A cosy atmosphere coupled with exceptional service and food lend to a wonderful evening. For a couple I highly recommend getting one of the set menus for a good selection of dishes. The Mee Grorp (sweet crispy noodles) and Weeping Tiger (sirloin steak) are personal favourites of mine.
