Booked for a Sunday afternoon at 2:15, expected it to be quite busy as a warm day. Surprised it wasn't as past visits, prob ably per pandemic, it would always be packed. No issues with booking, and front of house took us to a nice table and the air conditioning was welcome. Asked if we had been before and went through ordering procedure and menus. Two adults and two teenagers meals all different, none if us had carvery but the meat looked o.k. ordered our meals and drinks at bar, no issues. Food came quite quickly and all together, server then asked if any condiments required. These were acquired and brought to us quite quickly. Everyone enjoyed their meal the only down point was the chips were not hot, they weren't cold but would prefer them hotter rather than warm. All agreed on that. Sat outside after meal to finish drink, unfortunately, the outside furniture needs a lot of work, some rotten benches, green algae on some and one was tilted back and could have caused an issue for someone with balance problems, my teenage grandson sat on it and gave a demo of what could happen as he fell backwards. Please look at this outside furniture.

Had good reviews from other people so thought we'd try it out.... Was not impressed to be honest. I would have preferred carvery but was not on website that carvery closes at 6 on a sunday had I known this I would have booked our meal at an earlier time so that could have had one .... My husband loves his food but even he said he wished we'd gone elsewhere...... Staff were friendly though and food came fairly quickly...

Absolutely perfect, big plate named small, but I didn't finish my own. Mixed grill, fully recommended. Served in less then 10 minutes waiting and beer free in meal.

Food was amazing and carvery filled up my plate with as much as it could fit at was all nice and worth it and refillable drinks. Although the restaurant was very busy the Environment was quite and staff were very friendly and always available to help. The food came very quick within 10 minutes and could not fault anything. Kids play area as well which they enjoyed. Tables and toilets were very clean. All 10/10 perfect well done staff! Especially on Boxing Day as well.

Felt let down this time. Had a new menu but didn't have a lot of it in stock, so very little to choose from. We go there regularly normally the week end. That's good. But this was a Monday evening, don't know if it should make a difference?

The seating in the restaurant is well spaced and didn't feel cramped at all. Our reserved table was ready and clearly marked. Once we had placed our order at the bar, we waited about 30 minutes for the food to arrive. One of the four meals ordered was incorrect (something completely different to what we had ordered had been sent!) and had to be sent back. We had to chase for the meal as the waiter had forgotten to ask the kitchen for the correct replacement meal, which resulted in the fourth meal arriving after everyone else had finished eating. Very disappointing.

Stayed one night at the premier Inn. Ate takeaway from here for supper and breakfast the next morning. Service was excellent. Friendly, courteous, helpful staff. I had my first half pint in over a year here and the whole place felt clean and well run. The evening takeaway meal was everything I expected and needed. It isn't gourmet haute cuisine of course, but it was really very tasty and well done. My burger and chips with coleslaw was great, and it had a burger sauce in that really elevated it. I'd have it again happily. My wife and son had the beyond burger sloppy joe, and both liked it, and my other two sons split a fish and chips they both enjoyed (clean plates!). There is limited selection on the takeaway menu but we were pleasantly surprised with what we got. Not tired, grey food that often can be served at chain pubs like this. Breakfast was very good, eat in only. They are taking the responsibilities of being covid secure seriously, and it's reassuring to see. That said, it didn't get in the way of very friendly service, and the breakfasts were all eaten up. I would definitely describe myself as a happy, satisfied customer. Went to The Swallow for Sunday lunch yesterday, (first time out for a meal in can't remember when so we were looking forward to it). We were not disappointed. Staff very welcoming. Had to use NHS app to sign in but that was no problem. Sanitiser conveniently placed in entrance so no looking for it. We were shown to our table (all tables were distanced as per Covid regs) and we were given comprehensive drinks and food menus. Shortly after sitting down our server attended to our drinks order and then our food. Two roasts were chosen and we have to say they were absolutely delicious and well worth the £8.99 as the quality and quantity were excellent. No room for dessert, unfortunately, but just have to say a big well done to The Swallow team. We will be coming back. To any review readers, this restaurant is well worth a post lockdown visit!

For the money pretty good pub grub. Atmosphere was lively, but not too noisy. The staff were helpful and effective at clearing each course without getting in the way. Could see how the pub could get too busy at times, we had lots of kids with us and things got a little crowded. Not exactly a negative, just something to keep in mind. Might be worth booking ahead to ensure you've got the space you'll need.

My partner and I will always enjoy visiting the swallow. Our son who has multiple allergies is able to eat here. Not only are the staff friendly, the food and drink good, and reasonably priced. But you're able to grab some food whilst you kids can run off and have a play. It takes the stress out of going out for dinner with the younger kids in fear they may get bored just sitting there. Would recommend to anyone.

Food was good. Rib eye steak was good quality and I'd recommend it. But.... other than the fried part of the meal rest was quite cool (not cold to be clear) when it arrived. Plate was really quite cold so guess the rest cooled as chips were cooked. Then the cleaners arived at quarter to 10 and started vacuuming as we eat our food... we customers must be in the way for an early doors. Shame as good potential.

Good greeting. Price ok. Had starter and carvery option. Got starter, very watery soup, red in colour. Went up to get carvery and when we got back to the table they had cleared everything, including our (full) drinks glasses. Pretty inept if you ask me. They must expect unoccupied tables at a carvery surely! I had poured my beer from the bottle to the glass to make it look like we was still occupying the table. Staff were very apologetic to be honest. Supplied us with fresh drinks. Food was ok, nothing to write home about.

Not the best food I have tasted but was ok. My lasagne was smothered in cheese I could not taste anything else. It was ok was not awful but could of been better. Other than that was ok. My daughter loved the play area I didn't mind paying £3 for her to play in it while we decided what we wanted to eat and wait for it to come. The waiting time for food was really good no long wait food was hot just I love cheese but not over taking my lasagne.

Just had a lovely last minute meal here, arrived at 8.30pm and was welcomed with a smile. The man who took us to our table said what food item they had ran out of (chicken breast). Food arrived quickly, was freshly cooked- nothing had been sitting under a heat lamp for ages. Waiter was very polite and friendly. All of the 4 meals were lovely. The highlight was when my son was looking through the door to the soft play area (rightly closed at 9.15pm!), a female worker (Cindy?) came over and was explaining why the play area was closed, what the 2 lights were on for, what she was doing going in there when it was closed- answering the hundreds of questions a 4 year old asks with patience and interest. Very impressed and it turned a rubbish day into a lovely relaxed evening.

My Husband and I opted for the 2 for £8.99 meals and I have to say they where excellent. My Husband had the Gammon steak with 2 fried eggs on top with chips and it was a really good size meal and Gammon had hardly any fat. I opted for pork and beef lasagne with garlic bread and salad, again a good size meal and very tasty. Would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the rest rooms. I can only speak for the ladies, it was clean but had deffinately had seen better days and the hand dryer had all but run out of puff. Good experience overall and I would recommend.

For the price this isn't bad. Only ever go when I have a BOGOF voucher as I don't think the menu price is justified for the quality. They do have a small soft play area, but you do have to pay £3 to use it and it can be freezing in the play area if you choose to eat in there.

The food was alright slightly over priced, silly that the 2 - £9 menu is off after 6 which is when I thought most people would go being a pub. Service was so slow the person in our group that ordered last was served first :/ and they served other tables between our. I would usually complain but seeing as I only go in there once a year when get the car serviced I didn't bother this time. On a plus note they do a bottomless pepsi, and bottomless refill off coffee (out of a machines) which is nice if you don't want to drink alcohol

Usual typical eatery. Ordered two carvery a burger meal smothered chicken and kids meal. All the 3 meals came together so wife and i got our carvery. Littlen spotted a hair in his chicken sauce so i took it back and chef said he would order another. By time we had all eaten ours the replacement still had not arrived. Took this up with the manager who offered something else but as we had eaten ours and i had to get to work we declined and took the refund of that meal.

Stopped by here for breakfast from the adjoining Hotel a few times. Food was fresh and well cooked, staff were all very friendly and well presented and it has to be one of the cleanest pubs I've been to. Fancying a hearty breakfast we ended up at The Swallow. Just under £18 for two adults with the children eating free is good value. All the regular breakfast items were represented with the addition of freshly made bubble and squeak to liven up the mix. We all ate far too much of the freshly cooked breakfast buffet and the only complaint was how bloated we all felt as we waddled back to the car........

Sunday 1st july- We come here a lot as we have children that enjoy the play area, food is always ok, i had the carvery this time and it was very nice, i just wanted to say a big thankyou to the lady with the cropped blonde hair( i didnt get her name), when my nan cut her arm quite badly she was very attentive, made sure she was ok and gave us wipes and a plaster to patch her up and was just very kind so thankyou.
