We visit last night and the food was some of the best Chinese food I have ever eaten. The restaurant was very clean and the staff were all friendly, polite and attentive.

We went on Chinese New Year, we waited in the lobby and we were ignored by staff for 10 minutes. There should be front of house staff ready to greet and assist you. Eventually we were taken to be seated by a guy with a poor attitude, we asked for jug of water and pot of Chinese tea. He came back and asked did I want green tea or jasmine tea, I said I just wanted typical Chinese tea that is common in restaurants. We only received two glasses of water and he never brought tea. It took 30 minutes for a waitress to appear, she was a very sweet girl but the place was being very poorly managed. So we ordered Spicy Dumplings, Lemon Chicken, Griddled Potato chips with sliced pork belly and egg rice. I had to ask again for Chinese tea. Tea came 15 minutes later. Then we drank tea for 50 minutes and some of the food came with slightly apologetic waiter. He said they were struggling due to Chinese new year take away orders, but that is not a good excuse!. You are a big business with several restaurants in UK and you cannot manage afew orders on a very important day?. The lemon chicken was OK, but very basic like take away, not even lemon pieces, and quite small portion. The spicy dumplings in chilli oil broth was nice but probably made with frozen dumplings. The egg rice was very good but portion for two was a little small. The Griddled potato chips and pork belly slices was mostly round potato slices and red chilli pieces, hardly any meat!. Tried charging us for two pots of tea but we only had one. Also ask for 10% service charge. So overall a very dissapointing experience, service is appallingly bad. And it wasn't just us that suffered, I could see other people had dissapointed faces, including Chinese families. There seems to be a disconnect between the staff, no leadership and bad attitude from the tall guy. And why so mean with the portions and meat? The prices on the menu are not cheap, pork and chicken is not expensive meat. Its a shame because Red Chilli could be good, it's nice to finally see home style Chinese dishes offered on an English language menu and not just typical sweet and sour, hoisin duck and bbq ribs. People want to try new traditional Chinese things, but not if the service and atmosphere is like this.

Pre covid we would come every wedding anniversary. We wont be back. Scruffy staff (some in baseball caps and hoodies!), slow mediocre food which is definitely smaller portions but at the same price. Disappointing.

We went for a meal to celebrate a birthday last Saturday, and as usual, had a fantastic meal. Great service, great food and great value for money. They send a very loevly waffle cake with ice cream for my birthday. The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. We especially enjoyed the salt pepper baby squid and steamed seabass. Definitely will be back.

Red Chilli is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Leeds!!!!! I go there frequently with my mates about 4 times per week (almost every day)! The dishes are delicious especially for dumplings and a variety of buns and other pastries. And we always get some free side dishes (a bowl of roasted peanuts, kalte Rettichstreifen) before we order the food, and also get fresh fruits when we finished eating. Attentive Service :-) The most fantastic experience is in yesterday!!!! Yesterday was my birthday!! N when we finished eating, the staff in Red chilli sang the birthday song suddenly with a cute cake!!! They really touched me cuz they prepared these things without any reservation!!! They just saw our birthday balloons then celebrate for me! Today I still choose this place for dinner and the services and dishes are brilliant as always! Five Star Certifications for Red Chilli Leeds!!!!

Very nice food. There was a starter brought out that had pickled vinegar and other assortments of food that was super delicious. I learned how to use chopsticks....basically stab the food with one stick and throw it down't Gregory Peck! Beers are foreign and hard to pronounce especially after a skinful, don't get lairy with them otherwise Chinese Chilly Billy comes out with a cleaver to persuade you to leave. Great restaurant.

Wow always love this place, myself and fiancé go every year for our anniversary and always have a great meal and a lovely time, staff always ready to help and very polite even in these trying times, we went with friends a week ago and as usual the food was spot on! The menu's had some fantastic dishes to choose from (some great adventurous dishes as well as the classic favourites). Service was excellent and the food was fantastic. The portions were very large too, which meant we could not finish the meal. We started with prawn toast (the thickest prawn toast I've ever seen) and salt and pepper soft shell crabs. The crabs were good, but I'm spoilt with the ones they offer at The Orchid in Harrogate which simply cannot be beaten!

It is a fine Chinese restaurant. It is located next to the historical part of Leeds in the basement. It actually looks much better than expected. Food menu has plenty of choice for soups, starters, mains and desserts, drink menu is short though. Staff is ok with their job but not very attentive. Food I have had was nice but felt more like take away quality though. Have seen some nice show with food when it served on the very hot metal platter, would go for that next time.

Red Chilli is my go to Sichuan restaurant in Leeds and overall my favourite Chinese food in the area. They have branches in Manchester too, but are up against stiffer competition. Great vegetarian and vegan options available but sadly not anything for those who are truly gluten free. If you eat meat or fish, the selection here is jaw dropping. It's a huge restaurant, usually busy but due to its size you can always get a table. Service is fast and friendly, prices are reasonable and portions are huge.

The food at this Chinese restaurant is some of the best Asian cuisine I've ever had, service was attentive and fast. I had crispy shredded beef and it was amazing, my friend had sweet and sour chicken which was lovely too, we shared 1 portion of rice (which is plenty) and salt and pepper chips with some curry sauce, easily enough to feed two and a decent price. Overall highly satisfied with everything, will return again no problems.

This place is so good, that I've been there three times in under a month. Each time we go, we always order the different assortments of meat; the sliced beef, lamb, chicken wings, and vegetable. Eat dish is seasoned with it's own spices and herbs which come out smelling savory and appetizing, unlike other places that use the same seasoning for all dishes.

5The chicken wings are one of my favourites. The wings are seasoned with a spicy seasoning and done just right, with the skin a bit crispy and the meat juicy which makes for a heavenly delight. We went there for New year's celebration. It was full of people, but the staffs still got us squeezed in. The food there are incredible. Highly recommend the hot poached spicy beef and roast mutton with coriander. It just sooooo yummy.

Effective service and good environment. Authentic Chinese food! The waiters are so polite and effective, last night I went there for dinner, that’s a busy restaurant! A lot of people waited for dinner in a long cheque on the entrance. But when I asked for a cup of salt and sugar, they just have them to me immediately with a big smile on the face. Meanwhile, I enjoyed the free pre-meal snack they provided! That’s gorgeous! Also they provide with delicious oranges after finishing dinner. It is noticeable that when we finished stater they will help us to change the plates instead of new one, that’s nice. I thought Chinese restaurant won’t get sense of western eating culture but red chilli did. That’s good.

Went there for CNY because we couldn’t get a table at the restaurant where we wanted to go. It’s our first time at Red Chilli in Leeds. The place is similar to the Manchester one, food was not too bad but Manchester was a tad better. Sadly, the service was bad! Slow, no table waiting at all! Food came one by one and it’s definitely not the Chinese way, the big bowl of rice came without a lid on!

The food is superb. The service is really not great. Had to ask for my chinese tea three times before getting it, waited for our stuffed aubergine for 30 mins to only hear they "forgot" about it... We were still a bit hungry so asked how long it would be for a desert and after being told 5mins we waited for 25... Actually red chilli is not bad. at least out of my expectation cuz i saw there r too much negative reviews in google map. at the beginning of the time i thought that is a terrible restaurant but everything is nice when i have been served. especially for the young waiters, they r quite friendly n would like to recommend the yummy dishes for me. and they r professional, i like it and would like to be here again with my mates. strongly recommend: egg fried rice, crisy duck and salt and pepper chilicken wings. BTW and we order the quater crispy duck which is super crispy and delicious, they serve the duck for us, which is creative and interesting. i recommend this dish as well. moreover, i think this is a different chinese restaurant. although they don't provide the wechat or alipay, they do provide visa and amx payment. i think that might be more effective than others. may come here next week with my family for my father's birthday.

Another fantastic visit to this authentic Chinese restaurant. If you would like to experience authentic Chinese cuisine look no further. A great range of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Staff are always very polite. The best place to park is the Merrion Centre car park (operated by Citi Park) less than a five minute gentle walk to the restaurant.

I visited red chilli expecting another Chinese restaurant. When I walked in I was greeted and shown to my table in a large banquet Hall layout, dividers between tables, tastefully lit and decorated. The service was flawless from walking in to leaving. Myself and my partner are vegetarian and they accommodate this fantastically well, the menu is clear (though some spelling mistakes do crop up and some items are not marked veggie even though they are). We ordered a main and two sides each, this was far too much food. The portions here are copious and leave a lot to be taken back, they are happy to bag your leftovers up. 5/5 would eat there again.

I prefer this restaurant to anywhere in Chinatown in London which is mostly tourist bland and not very good. Easily the best Chinese restaurant in Leeds. Always packed on an evening, you may have a short wait for a table but it's worth it! The menu consists of pretty unapologetically home-style Sichuan dishes, including the hottest chicken dishes you've ever had, and duck tongues amongst some more familiar ones. Authentic Style Chinese food not like a takeaway shop style food. My wife is Chinese and like eating here. Quite dark and then need of a little update. Always popular with people and you see a lot of other chinese people eating here. If you have a party over 2 I would book a table. Parking in "The Light" Underground Car Park. 2 minute walk to red Chilli. One star off because the place needs a refresh.

Red Chilli is a nice moist place. And the water was good to my tentacles. Overall I killed three. And had a great time the paintball was the best part, I had a blast.
