We popped into this shop for a bite to eat whilst walking by and I got to say I'm glad we did! The flavours were authentic and pleasing with taste that brought back memories of eating in Mumbai. 10/10 for everything. This was my first time trying Desi Bites and it didn't disappoint. The ladies that served us were lovely and helpful, I asked for my Thali to be vegan and they were happy to accommodate. I asked if their Pani Puri was vegan and they checked and confirmed, and even when we didn't realise the closing time was 8pm they were so nice about it. They also recommended the fresh passion fruit juice which was really nice. The food was very reasonably priced especially as the Gujarati Thali was unlimited. The taste was out of this world good, absolutely delicious.

Amazing people! I had a rubbish day and wanted some me time with a little lunch. Found the atmosphere and staff lovely especially a young lady who made me an amazing Paneer Hakka noodles and took my order for food to take away! Thank you for brightening up my day when all I wanted was some good food - thank you!

My personal customer service experience was very good. I was greeted by a gent, who immediately went to check on my order. It was going to be ten more minutes. Because of this I added Crispy Potato Bhaja to my order of Szechuan Rice and Paneer Tikka Chips. The order was only a few minutes over the promised ten. One thing I did not like to see was that other people's take away orders were sitting on the counter having additional components of their order added as I was waiting, I'm not just talking about a few minutes either over the whole duration, some thing of their order is going to be stone cold. On to the food. The Paneer Tikka Chips was amazing, couldn't fault it. I have never tasted a non saucy Paneer this good. The Crispy Potato Bhaja well cooked; Soft potato with a lite and crispy better (better than most places who's Bhaja turn rock hard as the cool). However in my option the portion is a little small - not a complaint, just would have liked a slightly bigger portion. Note onto the main reason for the 3 review. The Szechuan Rice did not look or taste like it should have. It was a tasty dish. But lacks that familiar red colour and heat you come to expect from Indochinese Szechuan Rice. The rice had the flavour profile of Hakka Noodles. I will most certainly order again, and will alter my review when I have an experience from Desi Bites that decreases or hopefully increases the rating.

The best catering company in Leicester. Thank you to Riteshbhai and the whole team who made our entire wedding event. Everyone loved the food so much people are still asking who did our catering. From the start Riteshbhai worked with us to create our menu for all of our wedding events. The food was absolutely amazing from start to end I cannot recommend you enough. Your staff were professional, well mannered and always ensured our guests were looked after. I cannot thank you enough for making my pre events, wedding and reception menu memorable and special. Good food and polite family run business... We did a catering order and the team were lovely. A few less than optimal incidents though... The containers provided weren't travel friendly and leaked a lot of oil.. They forgot items we ordered, like the chutney for the bhajiya and the salad.. Finally, my mother found a piece of plastic in her bhajiya. The food was super tasty and I'd hope to see the service improve in time.

I have been ordering from here for a number of years. They do nice vegiterian samosas, especially the soya samosas. If you used to eat meat but are now vegetarian like myself they are awesome. Only given 3 stars as the service I received cost me money, was rude and gave false information. Last time I ordered it was a very busy day, Diwali. I called in the morning placed my order, called up several times throughout the day and added to the order no issues. I was busy at work so o asked a friend to collect my food for me, once he agreed I called up to ensure payment could be made over the phone which the person said it could be. I then spoke to my friend who went to collect the food on my behalf, he had no form of payment as he was collecting straight from work. I then called back back Desi Bites to make the payment who said I couldn't do it as they were too busy. I explained that I had already called and had a large order and needed to pay as my friend was on his way to collect, the chap hung up on me. I then called back and the same person said I couldn't make the payment as they were too busy, I then was passed to someone else who said that I couldn't pay over the phone. I then had to apologise and thank my friend and had to collect myself. This added an hour on to my day and had to loose a job at £75/HOUR to go collect the food or alternatively have no food for my family. I went in and didn't want to upset anyone as it was Diwali and they were all dressed up and didn't want to give any bad vibes to anyone but very disappointed with the service. Also the days and times that they open on Google aren't correct. Went on Sunday, said they open at 10

Maharaja Thali was OK, Gujarati was good and other food was good. Pani puri, Sev puri was a bit cold, was expecting room temperature but ok.

Visited Desi Bites recently. Had the hakka noodles. Absolutely amazing, bit on the spicy side but a delight. Service was polite, and the staff came over to ask if everything was ok a few times. Loved the food so much we bought some for lunch the next Day! A Very warm friendly atmosphere, decor is clean and fresh!

Desi Bites is without doubts the most authentic "home cooked" Gujarati Indian food in Leicestershire. The food was cooked fresh and served with love we had the "thali" which was unlimited and the food just kept coming. Honest Authentic home cooked food that was healthy and tasted heavenly! 5* is not enough! Very impressed and will definitely be paying another visit!

Food was ok. Waited 30 mins for the food which was a bit excessive when the restaurant was empty (takeout). We had the cheese pau bhaji and the Bombay sandwiches which were nicely favoured but not amazing. The pau's (bread roll) were a bit on the small side but given lots of bhaji (curry). Would've been nice to have one more Pau to make it even. A dip on the side of the sandwiches would have been a nice extra touch. Service was friendly but the food means we will try somewhere else next time to see what others offer.

The food is the thing that everyone remembers from a wedding. We needed good food, tabled served, catering to large numbers and different ethnicities. We spoke to many caterers, but we still weren’t happy with anyone in terms of likeability, genuineness, price and the trust. As soon as we were recommended Desi Bites, we went to meet Amrish, who did a food taster there and then. Amrish was helpful, flexible and honest and genuinely took time out to care about what we wanted. Desi Bites provided a high quality service and standard which we could not fault. Everything we agreed was delivered and their staff and the service on the day was perfect, they did a fantastic job. Everyone enjoyed the food, they all complimented the canapes and the mains, saying it was the best food they had eaten at an Indian wedding, and everyone still keeps asking where it was from. We could not recommend Desi Bites any more highly for any occasion you may need catering for. We sincerely want to say thank you so much Desi Bites. You were incredible and we can’t wait to have another opportunity to use your catering again

Excellent Wedding Reception Food and Service. 1.The food tasting was amazing. Amrish who is the manager, was not pushy at all. He listened carefully to what we wanted. 2. In the transition (before our event), he was available to answer any questions we had, agreed to have meetings at short notices, to discuss things. 3.On the day, the food was TASTY and EXACTLY what we requested. 4. We had guests calling us and complimenting on the food. 5. The SERVICE was very good. Guests ate properly. Without any hesitation, his staff were serving seconds. The food was HOT and just how it should have been. I must mention, that, you will come across a lot of catering managers boasting about their services. Amrish didn't. He's calm, respectful, works with honesty, and let's his work talk.. Me and my family cannot thank him enough.
