My local chippy, prices are reasonable considering the current high cost of fish, staff are always very friendly and attentive. Most of the times I've been, the fish and chips is excellent, only loses one star because the last two times it was slightly less good quality, the batter was a bit more greasy than usual and didn't adhere to the fish as well. Otherwise it's normally very good!

I live 6mins away from the shop. Ordered fish and chips with battered sausage. When I get home with my order, taste of the chip was dry and hard; the chips wasn’t even warm, the fish was okay but expected better because of their award winning product, and the battered sausage was good but could be a lot better. Overall, Sausage didnt even taste like pork, battered on both of the fish and sausage could of been a bit crispier, and the chip could be more fresh…. Trying food down and up the country will decide the truth.. so disappointed for it award winning shop.

Best fish and chip shop in Leicester! We ordered 2 regular fish and chips and a childrens fish bites meal. We ordered delivery which was bought to us promptly by a very nice man. The food was piping hot and delicious. They currently have offers and the portions are amazing. I would reccomend this chip shop to everyone. Thank you Frydales!

This was nearby to where I was staying. I had the fish, chips and mushy peas on the first night. Excellent meal, the chips were amazing and the fish was fresh cod. I'm big eater but there were still leftovers! I had a cheeseburger and chips the following day and again all was excellent. Friendly staff and excellent service.

Usually brilliant but this time the chips were overcooked, dry and inedible which is such a shame as cost over £20. The fish ( COD ) however was superb as always. It is a little expensive For fish and chips compared to other places but for the cod it’s worth it. This time I wish we had two fish and ditched the chips. Used just eat who were on time as always.

Amazing! Not your standard chippy, fish fried fresh to perfection, chips crispy but soft and fluffy on the inside. Staff very welcoming and friendly (Mandy). Also offer a 25% off if you revisit during lunch which is absolutely brilliant considering that the prices are already decent. Will definitely be coming here often, keep it up Frydales!

Visited Frydales for the 1st time yesterday and was very impressed with the quality of the food. Ordered a Large Cod and Chips which came to a tenner - All was cooked fresh upon ordering so there was a small wait of around 10 mins which is no biggy. Would rather wait a while for freshly cooked produce than being given products that have been sitting under warmers for ages Fish was gorgeous light, crispy batter and tasty. Chips were just right and plenty of them too. Couldn't finish all of the chips because there were so many and would most probably order a regular size portion next time Nice to see a young business concentrate on quality over quantity. I shall definitely visit again - not the cheapest chippy but you get what you pay for. Top notch nosh.

I find it hard to find a decent takeawy/chip shop yes there's loads around but decent ones are hard to come by. This is the first time I've ordered from Frydales and it won't be the last, I HIGHLY recommend, I really, really enjoyed it, and anyone who knows me would tell you the fast majority of places it's a couple of bites then fed to the bin. Where can I start, food was amazing and catered for my boyfriend who has 4 allergies (nuts, dairy, egg and fish) took all the right precautions and was brilliant as we always struggle to find food places for him. Food was fresh and tasted great, well deserving of the price it is sold for. The staff, led by Amber I believe were very friendly and always happy to help and listen. I will definitely be coming back! Keep up the good work :)

Popped in on our way to Peterborough. We had cod & chips twice which was freshly cooked, the chips were crisp on the outside with a fluffy centre, the cod was moist with a light and crisp battered coating almost like tempura batter. Charlie and his staff were attentive and polite. Highly recommended if you’re in the area or passing through.

Visited as was passing through the area, and had read about the spam fritters on the online menu. I was however disappointed when told they'd stopped serving them but hadn't removed them from the menu. The food was nice, with the fish cooked to order, however I wouldn't consider the piece I purchased as 'large'. Tip to Frydales: Shut the front door, as your waiting customers are freezing cold, and it's not nice.

Quite simply the best fish and chips I've had!! Ordered through uber eats, very fast and efficient service & arrived piping hot. But this review is about the quality of the food I ordered I can only give it 10 out of 10 I heard it was one of the best fish and chip shops in the country, when anyone hears that you'd be sceptical but I can see why the food was delicious

Friendly and polite staff. Clean establishment. Reasonably priced. Generous portions . Fish was nice. Pie was pukka, as always. Mushy peas were lovely but wasn't happy with the chips. Alot of crispy ones. Some burnt ones. Lost a filling on one of my teeth.. But didn't let that put me off.

Visited Frydales for the first time this evening, the staff were really polite and helpful. When asking about vegetarian options Evie recommended the halloumi fritter, would definitely order it again! Price was very reasonable for well cooked food.

Deffo the best chip shop in Leicester, fish is never dripping with oil, nice and crispy. Presentations gone down a little due to them not serving in flat boxes anymore which stood out against the rest. Keep up the good work guy's il be back very soon

Delicious food spot on 👌 bit pricey but they got to make money some how and because they was so nice I didn't mind paying the little bit more, fish was great and chips where perfect, battered sausage was amazing. Get going if you haven't yet been I would so recommend it.
