First time visit to this place on a stopover from Liverpool to London. Food was alright. Portions were good. Recommend the Mogo and Mushrooms. However, everything sort of looked and tasted the same with the same sauces. So if the sauces were slightly different might have been better. Service was good, friendly staff. Reasonably priced.

This is the best Indian restaurant in Leicester! The quality of the food is amazing and the taste is exceptional. The staff are very friendly and made me feel very welcome. The food is so good! We attended for a function and loved the food. Ordered a take away a few weeks later and had no complaints about the food. Reason for 4 starts instead of 5, is because they don’t open til 6pm, so hard to get through to anyone in the daytime to book a table or order a takeaway! Even after 6pm, phone not always answered which is disappointing. Also, shame they don’t deliver because parking can be an issue but worth walking that extra distance for the food. :) never eaten in other than function room so can’t comment on dine in experience

The food was great they made the starters extra spicy for me ( Hakka noodles and Pattra). The service was very very quick. Staff were very attentive and the food was sizzling hot as it arrived. Not bad for a Friday night. Portion sizes were good and reasonably priced. Will definitely return.

Mother India is a fantastic restaurant with great food. The curries are amazing and theres many options if you like chicken, fish, prawn or any other meat. The vegetarian options are also amazing so theres something for everyone. The service is amazing, the waiters are really kind and helpful. The manager (Chirag) gave us incredible service and made are experience amazing. I would definitely come again.

We went for my dad’s birthday, the food was on point. we did have to wait for the food and the waiter I think Sunny who was working on Thursday explained to us how they cook and suggested some good food options. Overall it was outstanding service from Sunny’s team and I will definitely be going again.

The service was excellent but that was the only good thing about it really. I'm not very picky but the food we got was mediocre - we ordered butter chicken and shrimp tawa with butter naan. I've had better Indian food, the naan was probably the best part of the meal. The knifes and glasses were dirty/hasn't been washed properly. I won't be recommending this place to others :/ The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because of the service.

We had a takeaway from Mother India, the second time this month and I have to say so far I feel its the best indian in town!! All the dishes have its own flavour which you don't get any more with Indian restaurants. Very authentic, flavoursome and they have a great variety of dishes, a must try. We ordered during their 50% off but I will definitely be eating from there again either in or out when I can for full price! Sorry no pics today as the food was gone so quick. Great food, great portions for a great price, service is superb all staff keen to ensure customers have a good time. Flexible and helpful with menu choices, specialise in Indochinese fusion which works well. Thanks to all staff specially Suni and mother india herself Sangita for a really enjoyable meal. The Suni special with Lamb on the bone was delicious and worth an hours drive north anytime. 🙏

Even though they were extremely busy we got a table for 4 in about 10 mins, the food and service was excellent, they did not use any food colouring which is always a good sign, the starter portions were bigger than what I've seen in Indian resturants

Fantastic new restaurant, just what Leicester has been waiting for!! Mother India will be our new go to place in Leicester. The service was exceptional and the food was even better if that was even possible. Just hope the food and service is not just to get customers in, the true test will be 6 months down the line. Was here in a large party for my father in law's birthday celebrations. The food was good and it certainly lived up to its name as the starters were sizzling when they came out. However the staff were slow to bring the food out as they probably thought it would be best to make us wait; the longer we wait for food the more drinks we order and therefore the larger the bill. Shady tactics in my opinion. The mains were just OK because by the time they had arrived we had eaten too much of the sizzling starters as we were hungry! I would visit again but in a much smaller group.

Great ambience and a very good drinks list. The food was ok but not as good as the old Sizzler that was here before Mother India. Edible and satisfying (good portions), but nothing to stand out from Leicester's favourite curry spots further down the road. Pricing could be better (£45 for two who had starter, main dish and a drink each with a few popadums). On the night, my stomach gave it a close 4, my toilet the next morning bumped that down to a solid 3.

I have eaten at Sizzlers Bar and Grill on numerous occasions now and can honestly say it is an absolute 'GEM'. Food and service is exquisite. In fact the food gets better every time I go there. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, very modern and sophisticated. I even booked my work 'Xmas Meal' there and everyone was so impressed we are already planning to go back in May. The staff were extremely attentive & professional & nothing was too much trouble. The food is exceptional, so tasty, great portion sizes not to mention value for money. They have a wide selection of beers, wines and also do some 'Amazing' cocktails. If you have not been to 'Sizzlers Bar and Grill' you are missing out Would definitely recommend to family and friends

Excellent!!!! I booked the venue for my daughters birthday party for approx 130 guests. The service was excellent from the outset. We were called for a tasting session where we could choose the dishes which suited our family. We were assigned an event coordinator who advised us on timing give or take 15 minutes. The portion sizes were good and the food was truly amazing. We had a couple of guests who do not eat onion and garlic and the event coordinator made sure they were catered foreven though we only mentioned it upon arrival. the venue looked amazing and the staff were all really helpfull. 5 star service overall

Presently my favourite place for Indian food in Leicester - and there is a lot of competition . Glad to see most of the reviews match up. A shame to see Sonal's moany, gripey, clearly exaggerated crap. Been here scores of times. Never a problem. Lovely service, lovely food, nothing ever screwed up, and if it was, I have little doubt they'd put it right in a flash if you asked with courtesy. Nice work, gentlemen. Brilliant venue and lovely team - 70th Birthday party The function room is ideal for a party upto 150 with space for a dance floor, DJ and seating on round tables. We had 1960/70'z themed bollywood party the room was versatile to set up. The coloured lighting already there was excellent. Our guests really loved the food on all 3 courses. We had a open tab but Dipen and team kept us updated at certain points. Dipen and the team were fantastic and made us feel so comfortable to liase with them about the planning etc and made really good suggestions to make the party a great success. Definitely recommend Sizzlers bar & grill as a party venue but also overall. On behalf of the Mistry family we just want to say a Big THANK you.

Food is good for both veg and non-veg appetites as long as you only order starters as mains are really no good and the service is very slow to the point that items like ice for water and lemon for drizzling on kebab is either requested several times or arrives at a time it's no longer needed.

I come here on a fortnightly basis with my family as the food and service is outstanding. There is a great variety of menu options and the staff can cater for your own subtle twists to dishes upon request also. The portions are huge and the prices very competitive and cheap for the portion sizes and the textures and favours are exceptional. This is the best Indian restaurant in Leicester if you like Indian home style cooked and if you have a more westernised palette / preferred dishes. My favourites are the mixed grill, keema & chicken curry and paneer sizzler. Himalaya, Indian Queen; Blue Peter and Nareen @ The Clowes are good, but Sizzlers is by far the best.

A few months ago we had a large group booking at Sizzlers Bar & Grill. There would have been approximately 120 people on a typical Saturday night. But perhaps because it was a Saturday night we received what could only be described as awful customer service? The starters were due to come out at 8.00pm prompt & were pushed back till 8.30pm even though most of the party were at their tables? We hadn’t requested a table service so all members of the party went up to the buffet & were given 4 pieces instead of the 9 we had paid for. The party thought nothing of it as they could always go back for some more afterwards, however when they did, the waiters had packed up the food & were gone??? So what happened to the rest of our starters? The main meal buffet started at approx. 10.pm. When the waiters served the food the quantity resemble less than that of a Happy Meal! To be precise a typical plate was 3 pieces of meat (the size of a chicken nugget), a tablespoon and a half of rice, a quarter piece of Nan bread & a spoon full of salad. When members of the party asked for more they were given another piece of meat & another tablespoon of rice? When members of the party complained to the waiters they said to come back for some more. Having had so little food for the main meal many members though they would go back for a second helping when the queue died down. There was even an announcement to say if anyone wanted more to please go up, however, when they did, the waiters had packed up the food & were gone, again??? The FSA say that “Hot food can be kept below 63°C for up to two hours”. So what happened to the rest of the food, bearing in mind we’d paid for 120 people? Then to top of the night we had ice-cream for desert. How much did each person get…. Not even a whole tablespoon??? When a member actually confronted the Restaurant owner with “you can’t even give us a whole scoop of £1.99 ice-cream” his reply was “speak to the organiser as I don’t want to waste food?” We have in writing a list of the entire menu to be provided by Sizzlers for the booking, as well as the agreed quantity of the starters. When some of us arranged a time to go see the owner he kept going on about how his diary is already filling up fast for 2013. Regarding the starters his avoided response was that we hadn’t eaten them fast enough & were losing track of time??? Yet the delay in serving was caused by the establishment? We ended up resolving nothing & to quote the Owner directly “I have your money now, so what are you going to do about it!” Overall, members felt that the food tasted good, but inexcusable & unprincipled service. Not worth the money we paid.
