Food is great. Everything was enjoyable and would definitely recommend to others. Only issue we found was the ambience of the restaurant was a bit dull. I would love it if they could make it a bit more pleasing to the eyes. But still the food is great so are the staff there.

I went in last night for a daal and roti and I must say, I loved it. Supremely lovely people that own it and work there, home cooking, really hot roti's, there was a mix up with the cash and the kind gentleman made me feel at ease instantly. Looking forward to going back 100% and trying different traditional dishes. I Loved it.

This is, hands down, my favourite place to eat. The staff are friendly and the food is out of this world. This is not posh, it's home cooking. I can not recommended this restaurant, and the Tikki and Samosa Chaat especially, highly enough.

Very nice vegetarian restaurant. The decor or interiors are average but the restaurant is very clean. All the food served is tasty and delicious. The best I like here is Saag and makke ki roti. Also tasted the parathas ,they are also delicious. The thali is also filling and awesome where you can choose the Dal and sabji of your choice.

This restaurant use to be my life saver back in the day when I was at Uni. It's been around for a very long time but the taste, quality of the food is still the same as it was for me back in 2010. The prices haven't changed much either. Lovely family restaurant, with a warm welcome. I would recommend anyone who hasn't tried this Punjabi vegetarian food, to try it. You won't be disappointed.

One of the best Vegetarian restaurant around, serving 2 chapati/Poori with any main dishes (sabzi) we order. I've tried various mains from this restaurant and all were in its unique taste (not like single readily made curry) and enjoyable. Roti made from whole meal flour is a great healthy option. The very main highlight is its pocket friendliness with no compromise in quality. I've recommended to all my friends

I just eat here and saw customer come in and the guy forgot his phone so couldn’t pay and said he’d come back and pay and let him take the food on trust and the owner said ok much respect to the owner and the guy found his phone at the end and paid lol apart from the what you would expect from and Punjabi kitchen vegetarian only !!

Went there with a lot of expectations. The paratha was good and so was Baingan Bartha . However the alu mutter and chana curries were watery. Service is slow but responsive. It's a family owned restaurant and does have a comforting informality around it. The owners cum managers aren't overly friendly or smiling but I guess we can't expect all family owned establishments to be very welcoming? Overall its an ok place if you're looking for a decent Indian punjabi meal. Not very cheap. $$$. Overall recommended.

Excellent no frills vegetarian restaurant. The Mulli (Radish) paratha is out of this.world; not already or heavy and just.right. The samosa bhaat was very good too. Tarka dhal and Rajma (Red Kidney beans) dishes were very nice but portion sizes could be bigger. Overall a very nice restaurant.

Fantastic mouth watering food!!! Our daughter has been studying at De Montfort University for 3yrs now. We have made this restaurant our regular place of eating out whenever we go to visit. She herself has introduced Sardaar to many of her friends. She’s had a fair few takeaways too. The food itself is delicious and piping hot. You can ask for it to be spicy or not. Try their Gol Gapee. If you’ve never had them try them you’ll love them. Ask them how to eat them if you don’t know. The puri and patturee (fried breads) always come lovely and fluffy. We love their Chilli Paneer and Sahi Paneer. Dal makhni goes down very well too as I don’t cook it at home as I’d rather eat it than now how much cream and Ghee went into it. 😋 It’s a very reasonably priced place. The owners are a friendly bunch. Easy parking on side roads. Clean place & no frills place. It’s a great place for us Vegetarians!!!!

Nice homely feel. The owner is a nice chap. Food tasted great although chilli paneer tasted unusually sweet. Everything was spiced well. Bhaturas were very oily though. They had some trouble understanding our order but we got there eventually. Overall this place is definitely worth a try.

Best Indian in Leicester. I usually visit this place at least once every few months. Their food is always freshly cooked as on many occasions I have been I have requested for a less spicey dish, or more of a certain ingredient in my dish which the staff always happily fulfil.This place is more of a casual place to go but with their amazing food the cost of all dishes on the menu are very cheap for their quality and dish size as every time I have been I have spent under £10 and always leave with a full stomach.I can only praise this place and recommend to the owner to increase their menu prices as most Indian places I have visited charge alot more for a standard dish which in my experience does not always taste great.

Love this place as i used to visit it 20 years ago when studying at Uni in leicester. Very friendly staff and ridiculously competative prices. If u love original authentic punjabi indian cuisine then u must visit this place. Parking a bit of a challenge but park down one of the side street and pay via meter ticket. Basic seating arrangement but clean. You must make an effort to see this place seriously!!

Food taste is average. Had chole bhature and samosa tikki chaat. Samosa tikki chaat so good. But both had same chola (ragda). Surprisingly Punjabi people serving white chola in chola bhatura its suppose to be pindi chola. Again taste is homelike no issue but chola has to be chola not white chana or as we say in India "ragda"

Loved it. Was my 40th loads of food we packed a few things but the price if we had gone anywhere else would have been close to £70/£80. It cost us less than £50, and much more flavourful and so much less oil. Proper home made rotis. I recommend Sardars to everyone.
