Good varied menu options for all the family and reasonable priced. Accommodating any reasonable adaptation to standard menu choice, i.e. change of listed vegetable to other available. Ensure that all parties' meal is bought out together, so everyone is eating together. Staff are very friendly and always check that everything is as expected. Staff ensure that no dirty dishes sit around long after meal has been consumed.

Was charged for an extra meal but that was very quickly resolved and I got a refund. Meals ordered were all very tasty, cooked well and nicely presented. Only 1 person serving at the bar which resulted in having to wait to be served. A good night overall.

The staff are nice and the food is good too. The app is quite easy to use when ordering from your table instead of going up to the bar. The only downside is a number of out of stock menu items in the last couple of times we have been. To finish on a positive note, the quiz held every Monday is one of the best I’ve been to!

We normally have very good service here but I must say today's service was appalling the food was bought out in a very haphazard way and 50% of it was only warm not hot our starters were bought after the mains (were they forgotten) The gentleman who greeted us ,Tom did his very best to give good service but he was fighting a losing battle I felt extremely sorry for him and he couldn't apologise enough for the bad service we had received. He is the reason for 3 stars if not for him it would have been 1 especially when their was a guy sitting near us with a dog on his lap that was licking the table and laying its head on it when told dogs were not allowed he said it's a service dog !!!!

Food was delicious, had a classic mixed grill which came with plenty to eat! Only issue is due to it being a Saturday it was very busy when we arrived and so the food took around 45 minutes from ordering. I feel if I had gone on a weekday it would have felt a lot more relaxed and could definitely become a go to place, just not on a weekend especially with the six Nations rugby showing, making the place even busier! (Not their fault) The staff seem very friendly and still put in a good service even on busy nights like tonight. All in all the food itself was worth the wait and I'd definitely go back again!

My partner and i went here for a meal and drinks with my 2 sons and their partners. It is a large pub with a good size car park. I noticed they had some other activities like fruit machines and one of those crane games like at the seaside where you can try and win a teddy bear. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Internally the decor is old, tired and dated now. Drinks wise there is a good selection and average priced. When we got our food it was clearly fresh, hot and cooked well. What did let it down and we all felt the same way was portion sizes were just too tiny and a far cry from value for money yet ironincally we could not say the same about the desserts. My one other criticism was the toilets, frankly they were disgusting and down right unhygienic. The floor also had a very big puddle of water as well as other areas wet and slippy and there were no slip hazard signs either. My partner said the ladies were just as bad too.

I have been going here with my Autistic client every Friday for 5 years. All the staff are very accommodating as my client can be abit fussy. The bar/kitchen staff will alway change the meals to suit his choice and try to ensure that we get a table he prefers. The staff very friendly which encourages my client to interact with them always making our weekly pub lunch a relaxed enjoyable experience.

My son had scampi and again the portion of chips and peas were very small. The chairs could do with a really good clean as so could the mens toilets. Put me off a little to be honest, it's a shame because it's a nice pub.

We booked a table for 6 this evening. Even though we had separate Bill's the food all came out together. Nothing was too much trouble for connor. Despite being quite busy the standard of food was second to none. I will definitely return and would recommend this pub. Connor deserves a gold star.

Good value for food We went out for a meal with my husband and almost 3 year old. The portion was huge for the mega mixed grill, although the steak was more well done than medium well. We chose to eat outside as it was a warm evening, shame about the drunk customers' language, my son shouldn't be listening to so much swearing at that age.

Not as good as when I went before. The food was warm but had a char to it. The burnt taste might be a bonus to some but not to my taste. The decor was clean and the staff were friendlish. If a bit dizzy. Didn't ask my table number but found it easy enough (could this be why my food was warm). Last time I came the food was still sizzling on my plate and hot enough to melt the roof of my mouth. I did wonder about their Sunday carvery but I guess I won't both. I can get warm food at home.

Never had a problem with the food here but today the sausages on our plates were raw. The redhead manager was snotty about our complaint (wasn't the first we heard about food in this visit) and said they came in cooked. It was like they had just been put in the skin straight from the butchers as we bit into them and they had literally been put on a grill enough to put a scorch mark on the outside but the rest was pink. Apparently that was just gristle which as a manager I would not admit my produce was full of for a start.

We've been coming her for months for breakfast with our friends, it used to be fantastic and we recommended it to everyone. Then the menu changed to a sizzling breakfast which we don't like so we choose to have small breakfast with extras. Which is no where near what the large breakfast with tea and toast was like. Its been going downhill for the last few month s, but today was the worst, our friends ordered before us yet we got ours nearly 15 mins before theirs when theirs did come it came with a free hair, and a already opened and used jam pot. The manager was very friendly gave us our friends their money back. But they have lost 4 regular customers.

atmosphere really good as was my food. however had to go on a hunt for some salt. as the one on our table had rice in it... so did the one I got off another table. no check back done on food, my friends chips were under cooked but other than that she enjoyed her meal too. she shared my chips 😊 kids running round nearly fell over one of them walking in. given 3 stars just for niggly bits. first time in here in years as my sister comes in all the time. staff friendly enough.

Ok place to eat and drink, children running around and noisy but it is a family place. Need more entertainment to preoccupy the children. Be aware you need to enter your car registration into the machine placed at the bar. Food is priced good, but quality is mediocre, staff are very friendly. Toilets need cleaning more often. Every day am sure is different, so try this place out and see if any better when you visit.

Very reasonably priced food the Blackbird is a Sizzle pub, I have been here three times and it is a bit hit and miss. They are quite often busy for evening meals and so it can be a bit hectic. You can get a few beers here before going on to town at the weekend or opt in for the works what ever you do the staff are really lovely and helpful though the manager seems a bit of a grump but if you need help just talk to the lovely staff not the manager unless you really need to. Food can be really nice mostly but because they can get busy it can all go wrong too, if your experience is not great on your first visit it could be brilliant the next so don't give up as the prices are pretty good. You can also sit outside with a drink but it is near a busy junction.

Been here a few times and the food has always been decent and priced fairly. However, I went last week and today I have received a parking fine through the post. I parked in the car park and was not aware they have introduced a new system of registering your car registration number to enable you to park. Now I have the trouble of appealing the fine. Maybe the signs to register your registration should not be put on the doors, as when they are propped open you don’t see it. Also, not just at the bar, I didn’t order the food so I didn’t go to the bar so I didn’t see any signs. Can I suggest you put a notice with the menu’s?

Food was fantastic! Just be aware that they might run out of certain meals. No steaks, no american platter and no chicken and ribs combo were available on Saturday afternoon which can be annoying running up and down between table and bar as you have to order there whilst ppl sitting at the table :( That is holding up other ppl as well waiting to order. 3 simple vanilla ice cream, waffle and choc cake took more than 20 minutes to arrive so be prepared to be patient ;) Staff was friendly and there is a great family atmosphere.

Visited one afternoon for a meeting. I ordered 2 hot chocolates, over the few hours I was there, both was made two different ways, and I was charged two different rates. I was also cold, but the doors was open, but I did sit near to the front door as I waited for the others to arrive. I didn't eat here, but it wouldn't stop me from visiting in the future.

I was stay at the Abbey hotel. The receptionist was kind to recommend me places where I could go and eat at. The blackbird was not far at all. Only called in for a quick drink but found the staff friendly and helpful. The place had a good selection of beers and as a non drinker was pleased to see that they sold "Becks Blue". Pleasant and clean surroundings shame about the roadworks on Ravensbridge Drive as this made the entrance to the car park a bit tricky. All in all worth a visit.

First things first. The food here is great, would definitely come here again, the presentation is interesting as well. The few problems we had were: waiting for more than an hour for the food to arrive(granted, it was a friday evening and it was full), and the fact that it's a bit out the way. Reasonably decent chain-like style food. Grills are their best - everything fairly priced including drinks but their coffee sucks. Still it's a pub. So sod coffee, get a Stella and a Sundae and sit out the front it's a friendly place.

Sports TV screens strategicly set into alcove area where food is also delivered to your numbered table, or quiet areas and cosy spots for quiet chats. Return regularly. Car Park at rear and you are encouraged to input your Car Registration at a convenient / easy to use terminal at the Bar.

The curse of the blackbird strikes again!, just like its previous refurbishment which was riddled with really bad teething problems (we went the day after reopening) this latest revamp is also not what we would hope from a big pub chain, everything started fine with starters of nachos ( which were some of the best we have tasted), bbq wings which two of our party thought were excellent, and tomato soup with bread which was also very good, So far we had high hopes..So we waited patiently for our mains... And we waited and waited and...after enquiring about the delay it turns out the second part of our order had not gone through... Apologies from the staff and an offer of free deserts ensued. Finally our food arrived with mixed results... My chic-tastic sizzler was nice, my wife's chilli good, the chips were good on my plate but some others complained of an earthy taste, my daughter had rump steak part was nice but part burnt, another daughter had a rump steak which was a bit chewy and grisly, one piece of my son's garlic bread really burnt on one side (kitchen staff, you can see it's burnt so why send it out?, do you think it is acceptable, would you eat it?) "Debbie" dealt with our complaints with the kind of professionalism we expect and we think she is a credit to the establishment, also our food server was really nice, warm and friendly although there was some language difficulty, but at two points one of the chefs stormed out, the second time accompanied by a second chef, we do not know what the problem was but their manner was inappropriate and not acceptable and customers should not witness this, in our mind the catering team are at the heart of establishments such as this and how well they do their job will make or break a pub restaurant such as the blackbird, so if there are problems and unreasonable stresses going on they should be dealt with in the appropriate manner at the appropriate time through the correct channels. Also as a side note, in the men's toilets there was only one hand dryer...and that didn't work, really?, it has been less than a week since the blackbird reopened after refurbishment...it's not very good is it?. So to end this review should you try the blackbird?, flip a coin and take a chance!, you might get lucky...oh the IPA on hand pump was on form and a nice pint, but the doombar and another ale had signs on saying they were settling in the cellar...they were settling when we went in to the blackbird and still settling when we left two and a half hours later..just saying....
