Lovely food and super setting, nestled by the castle, always full and serving up lovely vegan food. Ignorance alert, but if you’re not into the vegan scene, you may be surprised as I was to find that vegan food can be so lovely. Very friendly staff and dog friendly. Also has a shop inside to grab any vegan items you can think of from truffles and marshmallows to sausage and pies. Great coffee too.

Had another absolutely delicious meal today. The presentation is a work of art and the staff are so lovely and the premises so clean. If you are visiting our beautiful city from further afield you really should eat here before you go home.

SUCH a great find in Lincoln ❤️ Would love to visit again. They took a booking for x9 (+1 dog) at short notice and service was flawless. Food was fresh, colourful and delicious. Pleasant to sit outside on a warm day. A small deli, serves food until around three-thirty. Local produce wherever possible. I recommend the falafel and salad. Generous portion size, never the same twice. Same is true of soup, includes a hefty chunk of bread. Tucked down a side street off Bailgate, easily missed. Contrast Bailgate Deli with the appalling service at Lincoln Cathedral Cafe. But that is the difference between a local family owned business where they care about their reputation and an outsourced operation which does not. Always support local businesses where they care about their reputation and money flows back into the local economy.

Very good vegan breakfast! Didn't have gluten free bread when I was there but I think they normally do. I got avocado instead of bread, so I don't mind. Didn't see the inside but it had a nice sitting area outside, with some sun and some shade and a view of the castle.

Came 2 months ago. It's quite hard to find a restaurant/ cafe that does vegan food other than burgers or curries. But this cafe was brilliant; lots of choice and food was delicious.

Fantastic little place! To it's credit, it was full on the Saturday we visited so we had to wait a little while but worth the wait, which only highlights the popularity of it. All of their menu was vegan and we opted for the hummus bowl which had a nice little variety of ingredients and the chocolate cake was baked to perfection. The prices are reasonable and they allow dogs which is an added bonus as Lincoln is a popular place and they had quite a few dogs visiting the cafe. The gentleman behind the counter was also kind enough to fill our water bottle for my pooch which was much appreciated as the nearest public toilets don't allow dogs so we were stuck! Will definitely return if we re-visit Lincoln in the future! Thank you Bailgate Deli! :)

tastiest and most filling lunch I’ve had from any cafe, hands down. would recommend the quinoa and spinach burger and the coffee is also delicious. they sell organic pulses, nut butters etc. really nice little spot and pricing is average!

I love this place! It's a small menu but everything I have had has been well flavoured and the portion size is generous! The staff are friendly and really helpful and I love the little pantry section for picking up some treats or vegan essentials. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lincoln!

Food was very tasty and seemed to be doing a fair amount of take aways,unfortunately service was slow,some of us had finished our meals whilst others were still waiting. In contrast people who sat in the cafe next door arrived after us were served their meals and gone whilst we still waited. If you have plenty of time to kill the food is definitely worth the wait.

A fantastic little cafe selling tasty, great value food. It's a small menu, but just right. The picture was described on the menu as a bowl of humous with crispy falafels - as you can see it was more than just that! And really good value - 3 of us had a meal, cold drink and a hot drink for less than £10 a head. Unless you absolutely have to have a piece of meat on your plate this cafe is definitely to be recommended.

Not to be “that person” at all but just wanted to let people know we’ve been to Bailgate Deli in Lincoln today. They advertise as everything being plant based but our drinks were actually made with cows milk as standard. Luckily I watched them being made so questioned it. The man explained they wouldn’t survive without offering cows milk but what concerned me is they made it as standard, not on request. Only posting to warn people incase someone made the same mistake and didn’t realise!

Great Vegan and Vegetarian options, very clean and Dog Friendly. Would definitely recommend although a bit of a wait for food. When it did arrive it was very fresh and would recommend and return.

Open on a cold windy Sunday during Storm Eunice to serve us weary visitors. The full vegan breakfast was delicious, as was the vegan sausage bap. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Shame it wasn't open on the Monday as we would have eaten there again. Understandably, the staff need a break. Thank you for the food.

So very impressed. I'm a meat eater, and always wary about the thought of anything pretending to be meat. But oh my wow the burgers here are to die for! The gentleman running it is absolutely lovely, so kind and courteous and helpful. The outside seating area is comfortable, in a good location, but enough out of the way from the hustle and bustle to enjoy your meal in peace Highly recommended gem. (And to the gentleman who served my family, thank you for having us, and helping my partner regain his sugar levels, you quite literally saved the day, and helped our day out end on a high note)

If you need vegan or gluten free options I can't rate this place highly enough! The cafe serves the best salad and cakes and other delicious treats. They have a great selection of specialist food to buy like vegan cheese, chutneys, jams, cakes, treat , all sorts of goodies. It was such a good find, we're already planning to go back for breakfast! Highly recommended a visit!

This is what I've been waiting for - a veggie deli, just around the corner! You can't go wrong with the menu - everything is delicious! It's mostly vegan, too. The staff are fantastic and feel like old friends. Oh and did I mention that they make a mean take away coffee? :D

Please try this deli/cafe, the food is gorgeous! Visited Lincoln for the day out today and had to go this place again as they do an amazing meze which is full of flavour, a real veggie delight! It was steampunk weekend so their menu was a bit different today but they were really kind and made me the meze dish anyway. They have lots of great drinks and the cakes looked yummy, maybe I'll have one next time!
