Ate here last night & had a wonderful dining experience. The staff are very friendly & very attentive. For starters I had mussels which were incredible & the portion size was enough for two. Girlfriend had the pate which she said was delightful. For main I had the lamb shank which was superb & girlfriend had one of their signature dishes the 12hr beef blade which she said just melted in her mouth. Lawson's is a quieter more intimate place to sit & eat & can't reccomend it highly enough!

Ah! What a place. Beautiful exposed stone walls and beams. Tastefully decorated with pleasant muted background music. Polite and friendly staff. Specifically, my wife and I would like to thank Lizzie who looked after us during our brief visit to the bistro. As for the food, superb. I had the Portobello mushrooms stuffed with garlic and tofu. Followed by the sticky toffee pudding. All washed down with a nice bottle of red wine. I would strongly suggest a visit if you are in the area.

A random choice of eateries as we wanderered aboit Lincoln looked good from the outside and the inside didn't disappoint. The mix of contemporary style with old architectural features works really well. The staff were attentive and friendly and the food was superb, fancy restaurant styling with moderate prices. I had the chicken and ham kiev with pesto mash and a balsamic glaze, my lady had Beer battered Haddock with chips and peas and my step daughter had Rigatoni pasta. All the dushes were fabulous, we will return.

Really lovely food, service was okay overall but we felt a bit like we were intruding when we arrived as we received an oddly frosty welcome. It's a nice place with a very pleasant atmosphere and the two course lunch for £15 is an absolute bargain.

We love it here and visit about 4 times a year with friends who travel from Peterborough as they enjoy the food so much. We always have the lunch menu - 3 courses for £18. Such great value for really fresh, flavoursome food. The staff are friendly and professional. Definitely recommend a visit.

Excellent value for money and deservedly popular, if noisy as a result. The best Scotch Egg I've ever had . Stars lost for use of what appeared to be supermarket sliced bread, and service that got slower and slower. Oh an an inability to offer a flat white when they do a latte which makes you question how they make the coffee.

Delicious, I would come back again. Simple tasty cooking. I had a nice starter salad with roast aubergine olives, feta, confit tomatoes etc was so good then had really nice chicken Kiev with mash.

Even though we went for evening dinner the lunchtime menu was still available, much to our delight. I enjoyed the scotch egg as starter, beef blade for main and sticky toffee pudding for dessert, hubby had same starter and chicken and ham kiev for main. Mains served with potatoes of choice and delicious freshly cooked veg. Staff, service, food, presentation, decor, cleanliness all faultless. Highly recommend & Hopefully see you again.

Latest visit to this, surely best restaurant in Lincoln. Menu changed from just few weeks ago, at least 2-3 dishes I could have enjoyed every course. What a nice addition to the Lincoln vibe. Like the renovation on the old building .. keeping a great mix and feeling. The food was excellent and portion size not too big. A great range of dishes that will need a return visit to sample! Could do with a little light background music.

The food was great, however the service was somewhat lacking. As soon as our main course dishes were being cleared away we were offered the desert menu - needed time for the food to "go down" so asked for 10 minutes or so and the young lady looked most confused! The most disappointing thing though was that even though I had said it was my husbands birthday when I booked and asked for a nice table and for him to be made to feel special, there was absolutely no acknowledgement of the birthday and no fuss. My brother even phoned them from his holiday in Greece and asked them to make a fuss - nothing! Can't fault the food, but we probably wouldn't go back if we wanted to celebrate a special occasion.

Went last night and the food is top notch! I had the salmon and it was perfectly cooked (I’m very fussy about fish cookery as a pescatarian) on a bed of deliciously seasoned vegetables and perfect roast potatoes. I had the delicious cheesecake and the only complaint I have is the portion size is crazy! I wish I’d taken Tupperware to bring half home ☺️ Maybe 🤔 a smaller desert at a reduced price for those of us with smaller appetites would be nice. Lovely ambiance in the place, fabulous staff who were friendly and attentive. Good selection of drinks as of course it’s a bar/bistro. Highly recommended 👍

Lawsons, whom we have visited before, were able to fit us in and we had a delicious lunch (the food is always lovely here) with efficient and friendly staff. Wonderful food! I had Moules Marinieres for starter and it was so good I wiped the bread around my bowl so that I didn't leave any of the garlic and white wine sauce it was delicious 😁 I had a slow cooked lamb shank for my main course and it fell off the bone, it was succulent & tender. The food was lovely, very flavoursome and cooked well. Only complaint was the service. The starter arrived before drinks, main followed within 5 minutes of the starter. Meal was over in 35 minutes. Although waiting staff were friendly the service was clumsy and not what you would expect from a restaurant that markets itself as al a carte. If you want fast food on a Friday night this is the place to go. Not great if you want a romantic meal for two.

Visited on Wednesday for lunch with a couple of friends. Due to the current climate we booked our table to ensure a table. The restaurant was busy and had a good atmosphere. We felt safe and the restaurant was following the current government guidelines, with masks, hand-wash (sanitising), etc. Food wise we had three courses, and didn't have to wait long for any of them, and a couple of rounds of drinks too. Will definitely be visiting again we worth the price as the good was excellent and the service was quick, efficient, professional and friendly.

Top quality food in beautiful quaint building in the historic part of Lincoln. The 12 hour slow roasted beef was probably the best I've ever tasted. My boyfriend had the lamb shank and was equally impressed. Starters of goats cheese and pate were wonderful. We were too full for anything else even though very tempted by the cheese board! The service was impeccable and the overall price was extremely reasonable. Well deserving of a 5* review. The only thing that we could fault was the lighting.Way too bright!! Add some candles and low lights to make it more cozy and we will be back!!

Amazing! The building is charming, staff are friendly, efficient & helpful. But the food was AMAZING! Personally I can recommend the slow cooked beef with cauliflower mash. Such a wonderful new find in Lincoln!! The food is incredible, you can tell the ingredients are fresh and the presentation of the dishes is done perfectly. As wine lovers we were really impressed with the wine menu too! The staff are lovely and so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for them.
