Visted for my birthday. Love the meals had a lovely mushroom bhuna. Great choice of different curries and English food. Everything was perfect. Served very quick we went at 6 30 can get busy of a weekend but we'll worth the wait. Can wait to go back

Have gone here since it opened in the1970s and I have never had a meal that I have not enjoyed. The staff welcome you as friends and it has vibe from early evening. I have to say that it is one of top places to visit in the North West.

Service was great and staff friendly. However although we ordered different dishes they all looked the same ( a red sauce) and the curries listed as medium had no more punch than mild and were a bit bland. So we were a bit disappointed. Rice's, nan and poppadoms and starters were good though .

Haven't been here for over 30 years for a number of reasons but as a family member has booked us in for Xmas, thought we better do a test run! It's had a refurb and been extended since I was last in and looks good with intimate booths for couples/small groups and larger tables for parties etc. Staff were brilliant, very attentive but not obtrusive. Food was amazing and the portions are huge - so filling that even with not having starters we needed to "doggy bag" half our meal! Having "rediscovered" the Gate Of India, we'll be back and not just for Christmas!

On 23/06/2021 my family and I visited this restaurant to have our family meal. The food was excellent...we had starters and main course and it was delivered in good time and the taste was really delicious – well cooked meat and all food served piping hot, and served in good time. The staff are very friendly too, which is always a bonus. The price is a tad on the high side, but since the food and service was 10/10, then we didn't mind paying the extra. I fully recommend this restaurant. We will visit again soon, and we live 25 miles away.

Missing eating out at The Gate so we have been enjoying their delicious food as takeaways. Food is gorgeous, generous portions and the service is outstanding. We were informed that our delivery would be arriving about 15 minutes after the original eta which wasn't a problem. As way of an apology they gave us free drinks and extra food. So impressed. Thank you Gate of India. Will be ordering again soon.

Had a great experience visiting this authentic India restaurant. It's food taste very well. I never expected to get such a good food in Liverpool. Ordered veg and non veg both dishes and taste was awesome. Along with desert Banana fritter with ice cream which was deadly. Thanks Gate of India

Called in unannounced on Christmas day at around 3.30pm (we were passing and were starving as had not had anything except breakfast) and were delighted to find that they were doing a 5 course menu for £20 per head. For that we got starters, mains, rice, naan and a side dish, as well as poppadums and dips, and you could pick anything off their usual menu for all of these. This feast also included dessert and tea / coffee - we were stuffed! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The restaurant was really festive and very busy, and it was lovely to see families of all ages enjoying their Christmas day with a mix of curries and roast dinners (they were doing an English menu too, which also included steak!). We had a fantastic time and would recommend it to anyone who fancies eating out on Christmas Day - we're definitely going to do it again next year, but this time we'll book! 😊

Large restaurant which rarely gets busy before 9pm. Friendly staff and responsive service. Three of us dined here, we all had Cobra beer which was reasonable value by restaurant standards. For main course I can thoroughly recommend the Kurzi Lamb Takari Pieces of lamb tikka & spicy minced meat cooked with onion, garlic, herbs, special spices & garnished boiled egg, cucumber & tomato. A medium spiced dish with loads of flavour and an exceptionally generous portion. The vegetable paneer was also excellent. We all enjoyed our meal but couldn't finish it because of the large mains. Thoroughly recommended this restaurant.

I’ve had fantastic curries from Manchester curry mile and I’ve tried nearly every Indian curry’s in Crosby .... this levels on the Manchester curry mile curries ... I was so doubtful about the curries around crosby as they had been for me awful!!! So my hopes were low.... but when I ordered my chicken jalfrezi.... spot on 10/10 fantastic place!! And absolutely lovely staff !!!!

The food here is absolutely unbelievable, it has to he the best Indian cuisine outside of Delhi, Curry's are full of flavour, the meat is always tender and cooked to perfection and the service is second to none, a true authentic Indian curry house with reasonable prices, a starter a main with rice and a drink will cost around £40-45 for two people, highly recommend

The Onion Bhaji starter was excellent, but I was a rather disappointed with the Main, which was a Chicken Balti. My main gripe is that the dish contained pickles!! Chicken Balti is my favourite Indian dish and I've eaten it all over the world, but I have never had one with pickles in it before. I wouldn't mind if it made the dish taste better, but it made it taste quite a bit worse!
