Very good value for money especially for those wanting to try a tasting menu. It’s not fine dining but they are not going for that anyway. It’s an “approachable” menu more on the traditional than creative side. I really like the concept of changing the menu every 6 weeks - keeps it seasonal and interesting. For £32 you get 6 dishes cooked pretty well and the atmosphere is nice. I’d say the service is a bit too fast and the wine list could benefit of few more names but would gladly go back.

It is such a nice place with a great vibe. The staff couldn't do enough for us and they are so knowledgeable about all the wines that come with the 6 courses. Food was exceptional so flavourful and just amazing. A great place to go.

Fantastic meal on NYE as usual. This is such a great concept restaurant and great value for money. I definitely recommend getting the wine pairing they’re full size glasses, you won’t need to drink for the rest of the night! For gluten free they just don’t include any ingredients with gluten in. I’m not sure how this would work on an Italian style menu, it would be worth checking first and possibly booking onto a menu that’s less gluten heavy.

I love this place. The food is amazing, so full of flavour and you get full from it. They change the theme monthly I think but each time I go, I have been blown away. Brought friend with me, her first time and she was amazed. If your after a fancy meal and so tasty, come here. The taster menu was only £32 each. Hoghly reccomend. Thank you

Absolutely bang on. £36 for a 6 course tasting menu. Yea it isn’t fine dining but it’s a fun menu done well with great staff, great drinks and most importantly great food. Absolutely no hesitation in going for the next menu. Thanks to the staff who was brilliant and made my parents, my wife and I’s afternoon fantastic.

Wish there was an option to give more than 5 stars. Visited here for lunch and had the vegetarian menu. On a weekday it wasn’t too busy. The waiters were very attentive and explained each course. The dessert had alcohol and on arrival I explained we can’t eat anything with alcohol in it; we were later told that the staff are working on adapting the dessert so it’s suitable for us. I was blown away with every course. The ratatouille was amazing, my favourite course. Every meal out will be compared to this restaurant from here on. They’ve set the bar so high. One feedback would be a playlist on theme with the food

What a fantastic experience! Visited the restaurant today in Liverpool, me and my friend had the From Miami to Ibiza menu, wow 🤩 it was gorgeous, I especially enjoyed the 3rd course and the 6th course. All the staff were so helpful a big mention needs to go to Holly, Gary and Jordan. My friend even got the biggest bouquet 💐for her birthday! I’m so coming back, thanks for the wonderful experience.

First time here. We are vegetarian and the food was well beyond my expectations. Its been a long time since i have been genuinely surprised at how good a restaurant has been. The vegetarian menu was excellent. Staff were friendly and informative. Other people on our table got the wine pairing and it seemed good value for what they got.

Loved our visit here. The theme of a tasting menu based on 'Once Upon a Time' was expertly conceived and executed. The 'carrot' dish was surprisingly delicious. The wine pairings all worked really well. The restaurant was a bit ',hectic' but had a good Friday night vibe so I though it worked. Service was also courteous and attentive at 'a busy time. Almost every course was a taste sensation. Staff verged on too efficient though and we felt a little rushed on occasion (we left well before our two-hour time slot was up). Also, a manager (or senior member of staff) came over to grill me about my reaction to one of the courses (I thought it was bland compared to the others) which made me feel very conscious that I was being watched. Restaurant is bustling, loud and full of life. We certainly left feeling like we had experienced the true tastes of Shanghai.

Excellent value, lovely service and most importantly - GREAT FOOD! The tasting menu is an opportunity for people to try (close to) Michelin star food without blowing a weeks’ wages. The wine flight was decent but a little clumsily explained. Staff personality was absolutely lovely and the whole visit was enjoyable! A six course meal with wine flight for £60 with great service - yes please.

Edit: don't go if you require any substitutions. I've been several times now and have a nut allergy and every one has been terrible! One time they accidentally gave me the wrong dish and I only realised after I ate it. Only got an appology not even a glass of water to wash my mouth out. The other times the substitutions have been "free from everything" type ones which are difficult to do well. One "panacotta" was far from it and still frozen in the middle, the others have been unbalanced and don't work as well as their normal dishes. I'd still recommend it if you can eat everything as it is served but they definitely don't accommodate to dietary requirements as well as they claim. Price has also increased every time. Fair enough for the main menu with inflations but the last visit added 2 additional "optional" charges on top of the menu price. Delicious food, sophisticated takes on classics, 5/6 courses were amazing, 1 was not to my taste. Great value at £29. Lovely service. Very quick but didn't rush us.

From start to finish our meal was outstanding. The attention to detail was amazing with each and every element working together to create one of the best meals my husband and I have ever had. Went last weekend for our anniversary and was amazing as always. Put in a special request for some flowers on the table and drinks on arrival. Was even asked what flowers I would like. Got there expecting a couple of yellow roses in a little vase but there was a while arrangment from a florists - and on the house. It's nice but I didn't feel like the cost was justified. Don't get me wrong, I love the pretentiousness of these types of restaurants if they can deliver really good food and leaves you satisfied. This delivered "good" food but the portion sizes are so miniscule as to leave you fancying a McDonalds on the way home.

Genuinely one of my favourite culinary experiences ever! We came for the fish and chip menu and all four of us thoroughly enjoyed every single course that came out. Someone on the table described it like watching a really good movie- you know it’s going to end but you enjoy the experience as it goes along anyway. Each mouthful is a different flavour and we enjoyed describing the food to each other! Plus we were so full at the end which was unexpected! Honestly great value too- you’d spend like £25 on an average chain restaurant meal. Splurge an extra £4 each and eat like a king! Also ALL the staff were friendly and cheerful which just added to the experience- it felt like eating in a family restaurant. Brilliant!

Very warm welcome. Staff were great making us feel comfortable. My partner is gluten free and I made Six by Nico aware upon booking online. Staff picked this up and confirmed this when we had been seated. We had the 'Shangai' themed meal set. Very tasty dish, each described by the waiter when serving food. The waiter stated what was different on the gluten free dishes. Picture is of our dessert dish 'A Matcha Made in Heaven - Matcha Tea & Lychee Custard, Raspberry, White Chocolate'. Very tasty dishes and will definitely be back.

This is by far my favourite restaurant that I've been to yet! The atmosphere was brilliant. Considering its their last night before the second national lockdown, the staff were absolutely on point. Our waitresses (i think her name was Marianne) was fantastic, as well as the other staff who helped out. They were so knowledgeable and informative about the dishes. We had the wine pairing too and again they described and explained each one to us brilliantly. My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and it was the best choice he could have made. It was also really nice to see and hear the staff singing and happy doing a job they clearly love. Im not sure who Nico is but it's a pleasure to experience the food he encounters and creates and so beautifully shares with us. Six by Nico is such a genius concept. A different menu every six weeks; so much to try. Been coming here now for the last 8 menus - tried so many new things - fantastic! Always get the snack. Always. Beer by the bottle, St Mungo and Menabrea, Scotland and Italy. A nod to heritage. 🍺 Staff are friendly, always explain the dishes and make banter. Wine flight good, but don’t do it after a few beers…. 🤪 Booking a must. This place is popular. Now take a deposit on booking. Worth it. Location convenient for hotels and Liverpool One. Also, watch parking wars outside. Fun. 😎

We came to six in Liverpool for my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary in January and the staff (particularly Georgia and our Irish waitress who's name I can't remember. Sorry) made their evening so special. We regularly visit six in Manchester so we couldn't wait for them to sample the experience. The food was fantastic (better than Manchester to be honest) and the service was perfect. We couldn't have asked for more for their special date We were met with complimentary prosecco on arrival and Georgia even bought them flowers. They were blown away. The disappointment for me though as a vegan was that there was no menu for me just a vegetarian menu which was then adapted to "suit me". Not a great fan of micro (no not small) plates food especially when they are missing a few or change some of the ingredients ok it was the last few days of the current menu but hey guys. The young girl who served us was fantastic Molly I think her name was she couldn't do enough for us and explained what everything was on the plate. Our main problem was the smell of subtle smell of sewage throughout restaurant. We didn't notice at first due to the many scented candles and plug ins all around the place. If I had been the owner / manager I wouldn't have opened for business or at the very least I would have put up a sign warning and apologising for the 'aroma' as after all the problem lay with the councils sewers. A voucher offering a discount on a return visit would have been probably made me and a few other customers return and give them another try. Three stars given rather than one because the waitress was so helpful and pleasant. P.s. Give your staff some training on handling wheelchair ramps (or switch the lift on) the poor lady Infront of us nearly went flying!

We attended six by nico Liverpool on Sunday 30th January. The occasion was my mum and dad's 50th wedding anniversary. The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. The manageress even emailed me beforehand to see if there was anything she could do. Georgia was outstanding in making my mum and dad feel special and even presented them with a bouquet at the end of the meal. You don't customer service like this these days, this is a team that go above and beyond. It was perfect and so special, thank you so much and of course we will be back. This is the best of all the six branches we have visited and we eat out a lot.

The idea of changing the menu every six weeks is very clever and it was interesting to see how each aspect of the theme was interpreted on to the plate. The food was presented really pretty however I didn’t particularly enjoy the steak pie dish. The dessert was amazing though. Did find a bit of plastic in the food however we were happy with how this was resolved.

Totally amazing experience, the theme was fairytale and each course delivered. Highlights were the hassleback potato with crispy onions and chive oil was to die for. The Trout was cooked to perfection and the Duck was melt in the mouth. We had pairing wines and they totally complemented each course. Staff were knowledgable and super friendly. A truely unique and delicious dining experience for a very reasonable price. You'll be treated two 6 delicious course all following the current theme. While the courses are small they taste amazing and by the time you've had all six it's quite a filling meal. You will however need to book weeks in advance.

This was a really amazing experience. My sister has never been to a fine dining restaurant before, and was really impressed with the dish creativity and uniqueness of flavours. Also if I compare to my own experience of fine dining, this was right up there in regard to the standard, especially if you take the price into account. Nice enough place. Our timing coincided with the Paris menu. Putting aside the gulf between the official menu images and what we received, the dishes were very much a mini version of a tasting menu which itself is all about small plates. I didn't find the dishes particularly innovative or exciting - the first two were run through with over-toasted sourdough bread, and the savarin cake finale was also dry - and won't be returning for seconds. Three stars because staff were lovely and water was served in ornate bottles.

Went there for Valentines Day. The New York menu was great, servers host and the rest of the staff were really helpful to give me a hand surprising my girlfriend with some flowers. Food was really nice and we had a great time overall. The only thing I regret is that I felt the place was missing a bit more ambient, also the tables might have been a bit too close, but considering it was a very busy date to go out for a meal I think its understandable. I would recommend the place overall if you want to go for something different than your usual three course meal

If you were paying "fine dining" prices, you would be very disappointed. But I guess that's the point - you're not. Don't expect anything outstanding... (although I've been watching a lot of Masterchef so my standards are insanely high at the moment). Never in my life did I think I would look over to my girlfriend and exclaim: "My chestnut veloute is a little on the cold side, how's your's?" But hey, for 32 quid it's good value and the food is fine although it did have the feeling of being churned out of a factory line and portions were a little on the small side. Staff were great although we couldn't actually hear what they were saying most of the time (you just nod along and pretend you've heard everything because you're absolutely starving after breathing your starter that consisted of 2 teaspoons of steak tartare). In summary, we had a nice evening but I won't be returning in a hurry. If I do end up back again, I will sit at the table feeling smug when the first tiny plate arrives due to the multiple slices of toast I ate before leaving the house.

Visit: 21/09/2021 (pm) I don't normally review chain style restaurants, as I generally prefer to eat at independens. I have to say I'm very impressed with Six by Nico. Not only is the food super tasty the value is excellent too. The staff are a joy, Paige was amazing. The wine flight had character and added a real depth of flavour to each dish. There's a real buzz atmosphere in the restaurant too. Lots of nodding heads and smiling faces as the guests tuck into their food. I've never seen a city centre restaurant so busy on a Tuesday night, and this can only be testament to the standard food and value for money you get at Six by Nico. Highly recommended, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

We went with my partner last Sunday after waiting months and months for the restaurant to reopen. Shanghai menu sounded right up our alley. When turned up for reservation we were sat in a dark corner (to the right of the entrance). That was ok, super nice service girl lit up a candle for us. Food was okay, really cannot see what all the hype is about. Chicken dish was good and prawn toast with bread. Bread being the highlight of my meal, like really amazing sourdough👌. Dishes were tiny and over complicated, beef was tough and luke warm, dessert tasted like granola. Mushroom medicine overpowered by pool of teriyaki or similar dark sauce. Nothing had a wow factor. I am a bit disappointed as was meant to be a romantic treat for 2 of us, booked 4 weeks in advance. Maybe it just wasn't right menu for us x service was really good.

I go to 6byNico every menu change since I discovered this place pre lock down and experienced 4 menus now. I like the variety on the menu as it changes regularly with a set theme. As with most set menus there are things that you like and things that you hate but the experience of something new is what I go for and at a reasonable price. The wine flight is also good and often does match the wine. I normally share my wine flight as a full glass with each meal is too much sometimes. They handle people with allergens well especially those with multiple allergies. The vegetarian menu aligns with the meat and I often order both so my vegetarian colleagues actually get a dinner as occasionally the veggy option is much better than the meat. When I've had an issue they are always accommodating. The reason I don't give it 5* is for tiny reasons that in the grand scheme of things don't change my opinion on the restaurant and don't result in me not returning; I think some dishes aren't perfect; the menu doesn't always match online; the change in the waiter to the table happens frequently (I like consistency with who serves me); often I have reused cutlery for multiple courses; the wine always come out tad to early for the food so I often on occasion have finished the wine before the food arrives. I would still return and would recommend but book early as it fills up quickly at prime times and when the menu has changed recently.

I booked a table to celebrate my daughters engagement. It was my second visit to the restaurant and as with the first the food was absolutely beautiful. The service we received was impeccable. The staff could not have been more accommodating and they went above and beyond to make the occasion so special. I cannot praise the food or the staff highly enough. Having eaten at all the ‘higher profile’ restaurants in the city this will be my go to restaurant whenever we have a special occasion. I cannot fault them. Our visit was outstanding.

I visited Six by Nico with my partner on Friday 17th. It was one of our first meals ‘out’ since businesses have started reopening and wow, it is certainly one of the best - ever! The current theme is ‘Chippie’, my partner had the standard menu and I had the vegetarian. We also opted for the wine pairing. Every single course was wonderful, and I say that as someone who was fairly drunk on my third glass of wine. Everyone needs to try this place. The staff are amazing and make you feel so special, the drinks are great and the food is out of this world. Yes, it’s fairly expensive (over £100 in total for food & wine) but you absolutely won’t regret it.

Visited for the chippy tea six course taster menu having heard rave reviews from the branch in Manchester. The restaurant was full (and we were at a 4.30pm sitting) but the atmosphere was lively not fraught. Serving staff were excellent providing a fast and efficient service whilst also going to great lengths to explain each dish and the accompanying wine course. Food was delicious. We enjoyed every course and as a table we had a lively debate about which was the best dish. A fun and unusual take on a chippy tea and for £30 per head you can't go wrong. I ordered the seaside aperitif and the wine course so the bill worked out at £63 per head. Left feeling very full and more than a little bit tipsy. Looking forward to seeing what future menus are coming as l'll definitely be back

I visited Six by Nico last night for the 'Chippy' menu. From the moment we arrived the place was buzzing. We didn't expect it to be so busy on a cold windy Wednesday night. The staff were all very attentive from the moment we arrived and all very friendly. I loved that the kitchen is open so you can see all the plates being created. We started with the snack before our first course which was very tasty and made us excited for what was to come. Each course was brought to us and explained what we were eating. Each course was amazing & we both said the dishes got better & better as each one came out. We did not feel rushed at all at any point and the courses were brought out in good time.... Not too long where you were waiting wondering where your food was and not too quick so you felt you were being rushed. We have been to both Moor Hall & the Art School and the dishes are on par with the quality and flavour of those. The standard is that high with the food. Very exciting flavours but the portions slightly bigger here. The other two is more about the whole experience too not just the food but I found I actually preferred Six by Nico purely because the atmosphere was more chill and relaxed and I didn't feel I had to act or dress a certain way where as I felt a bit on edge in the other two places and couldn't fully relax. At one point out 5th course was running a bit late.... We hadn't noticed but we were assured it was on its way (it didn't feel unacceptably long or anything) and on arrival another staff member apologised for the delay. All in all the food was excellent, full of excitement and flavours & they looked and tasted amazing & presented beautifully. The atmosphere was great, busy but everything ran smoothly. I'm glad I've booked again for December.... Might even try the veggie menu next time! Well done guys we both had a really lovely night!

An enjoyable "chip shop" dinner at Six by Nico in Liverpool @sixbynicoliverpool @sixbynico where the staff were very friendly and the restaurant were more than happy to cater for my Gluten and Dairy Free requirements 👍👍 Some of the courses were totally swapped out from the regular menu, and some had slight adjustments to suit 😁 Due to dietary requirements, my first course was swapped to an apple salad with fennel which was tasty and delicious. The second course was monkfish cheek (not battered monkfish) which was tasty and sender, and the third course was beef shin with some tasty mushrooms. The fourth course was cod (without batter) served on mussels and with mushy peas, and the fifth course was pulled pork served with apple puree and baked celeriac. To finish was a tofu ganache on a bed of cacao nibs, which was very tasty to finish. 7/10 the restaurant did a great job of catering for food allergies, however it was rather loud and some of the wine accompaniments were forgotten, although bought upon prompting staff. An interesting concept and some slightly strange pairings, but a nice dining experience 🎣🍟

I had dined at Six by Nico in Manchester with my son and his partner. I booked the restaurant for a visit to Liverpool as my girlfriend wished to enjoy the dining experience. We were not disappointed from the initial greeting by Holly to the restaurant ordering a taxi when we had finished our meal. We found the Miami to Ibiza tasting menu and wines selected varied and interesting, the tuna, sea bass and beef was cooked to perfection. The staff as l expected were efficient, informative and friendly and we both love the vibrant atmospere. Well done everyone.
