Reviews of Barrica Tapas Bar
B. B.
Fabulous meat platter and rich flavoured Fino Sherries. Server was really kind and explained to us how to match drink and food Spanish styled. Good place to be in for an afternoon social.
D. D. S.
Staff were super friendly and the tapas was lovely, especially the octopus. The standout here has to be the desserts. The torrijas with raspberry sorbet was phenomenal.

I discovered this place tonight by chance. What a great place. Cool vibe. Food was exceptional as was service. Both remind me of times in San Sebastian(best food in the world)in Spain. Just fantastic. The wine list is also well thought out and sourced. This place is entirely authentic in every way. I am so pleased we found this place as it is so hard to find genuine pintxos places in London.
S. W.
I have lived in Spain for two years and have tried tapas in different cities around the world and its super rare that you find tapas as good as here! What a nice restaurant!! The staff is so friendly and is just a lovely place to be at!
E. C.
Incredible is an understatement. The food is authentic, delicious, and and very responsibly priced. Every dish was fantastic in its own way, with unique flavours and combinations which worked beautifully. The staff were kind and the service was attentive. I can't wait to return.
M. G. S.
What an amazing experince! Went to La Barrica on Friday night with my boyfriend and we had an awesome time, we have been twice and for sure we'll be back a third time. Authentic tapas and on point service. Marta was amazing 😋😎😎
C.
Good food, atmosphere and customer service.
In general, dishes were quite tasty. I liked lamb, scallop and black ink especially. Some were a bit too dry and cooked too much eg. Tortilla, charcoal beef. Portion was quite small, we ended up ordering almost all seafood tapas on menu among 3 people. (Had overall 10 tapas in total)
J.
The staff are superb…. but I honestly thought the quality of the tapas was not as good as I expected.
The Chicken & Chorizo dishes we’re both overcooked, the aubergine & goats cheese croquettes were relatively flavourless and, if I’m honest, the best thing about the whole meal was probably the deserts.
Tapas can often feel overpriced for what you get, but in this case it’s probably true.
I should add the Ox cheek was also good but again, very expensive.
Personally, I would keep all of the wonderful service staff but improve the quality of the chefs, or reduce the prices considerably to reflect the lower quality of the food compared to other London tapas establishments.
D. R.
Excellent restaurant for Spanish tapas. Mostly traditional recipes, but also some interesting new variations on some of the classics. Great selection of wines.
Leave some room for dessert. We really enjoyed the rice pudding with crème catalane on top. A very unusual but delicious combo.
D. A.
The food is great!!!! Everything we tried was excellent...and we tried almost everything! ':) The only comment I would make is on the ambiance. It was too noisy to the point it was difficult to have a conversation. I think the sound insulation needs improvement...after all that's what tapas is about; eating - drinking - chatting.
A. R.
Very expensive food. We chose cheap options. Tortilla wasn't cooked. Peppers and artichoke were tasteless. Cocktails were nice but dear. Service and staff were good but the over £100 for 2 for not that much didn't seem good value
U. S.
A real touch of Spanish cuisine. The tapas are fabulous, wine selection is excellent. A warm welcome awaits you with friendly and professional staff. If you want a real touch of authentic spanish cuisine Barrica Tapas Bar is a must to visit. Continued success with all that you do. Looking forward to returning in the not too distant future

This was my favourite tapas restaurant in London for a while, but since going this weekend the fish didn’t taste as fresh as I recalled and it unfortunately didn’t have much as a wow factor to 6 months ago. Have the chefs changed? I’d still recommend.
L. W.
The staff were very friendly and the tapas was lovely; we enjoyed everything we ordered! A great selection of wines to choose from too. Look forward to visiting again soon! We came here on a Friday evening and didn’t have a booking, but the staff were able to fit us in before the other bookings arrived which was very kind of them!
M. T.
Attended as part of a company event, where we had the whole restaurant and Tapas were served all evening.
The food was outstanding!! Proper Spanish Tapas and it all tasted superb.
The staff were always with a smile and eager to serve.
Really recommended, a real London gem.
J. G.
My favourite Tapas restaurant in London. Authentic, amazing food and wine. The best night tonight with some fab girl friends. Please go. You will love it!!
W. I.
Cute little restaurant, reasonably priced, great service, really nice wine. The food was good with some standouts- the deep fried cauliflower, this artichoke dish that looked like potatoes.. I didn’t eat meat but the Jamon and charcuterie board were very well received. Overall it was good but not wow amazing.
S. W.
This is ne of those places that looked quite ordinary inside, nothing flash at all but served really great food. A very friendly team – it was like eating in Spain. And boy, did we do our best to try everything they had to offer from Patatas Bravas to ‘ata de pato confitada’ - Confit duck leg with autumn squash and fennel purée and some amazing crusty bread made in a large ring. Each dish more lovely than the last and quite reasonably priced. They have an extensive drinks list too, especially sherry and wine as well as cocktails, including one called Green Scotch – Bell’s, pressed apple, lime, elderflower, tonic and mint – probably the best thing to happen to a Bell’s!
I. S.
The food was amazing, so tasty!! And the customer service was excellent as well!
I'd recommend the "ox cheeks canelones".
I'll come back 100% Thanks!
M. K.
Amazing atmosphere, food, service. We really enjoyed it! We will definitely come back and recommended to all people! Salut! Thank you for wonderful experience!
P. M.
Thoroughly enjoy the experience. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about their food and drinks. There is quite an extensive wine list to look through. The meal itself was fantastic, a really strong tapas menu. I personally really enjoyed the croquettes, and the octopus dishes. The end bill was reasonably priced too. They have a Michelin Bib too! Overall a great feed in a very smartly arranged bar!

Such a wonderful gem in the Fitzrovia area! We visited on a week day, the place was quite full and lively, and we enjoyed every minute of our time there! We were seated at the bar (which we loved) and it felt like we were in a tapas bar in Spain! Food was promptly served and thoroughly delicious! The peppers were the best I have ever tried! A real Spanish gem - visit it, you will not be disappointed!
Visit number 2: We went back to Barrica Tapas Bar on a Friday night and we had another incredible experience! Despite not reserving a table, staff was kind and accommodating. We were quickly seated at a table and given the possibility to order food as we wished (i.e. we like taking our time and ordering little amounts at a time!). Each and every dish was incredibly tasty, flavourful and presentation just impeccable! What a gem - I cannot recommend this place more! I think it's the best Spanish restaurant in London!
S. V.
Cosy Spanish tapas bar with beautiful decoration around. There are a couple of bar tables at the entrance and some regular tables at the back.
The tostada with the aubergine was dry and not very good (it was quite small also). The meat board was very good and the jamon was wonderful! We also tried the white sangria which was not bad at all. Service was polite and efficient on annoy dry busy night.
S. M.
Best spanish food in whole London. Friendly staff and awesome customer service. 100% recommended!!
M. S.
Decent food - the chorizo was the star of the show and the spinach salad was also very nice.
The prawns were a little flavourless, which was disappointing, as they did look quite delicious when placed in front of us.
The meat platter could do with more than 2 pickles, but that’s hardly a complaint, given the meats were quite nice.
Overall, not too bad for a Tuesday night!

Food is amazing as well as the service. The ox cheeks, pimientos de padron and chipirones are a must! Their wine menu has a lot of variety. Highly recommended place!!
R. M.
Wonderful food. Absolutely terrific service. Glad to see such high standards still
E. G.
Great Staff!
Also (Mmmm Oreo) is amazing, super tasty!
Make sure you try it! 😉
M. S.
I'm not normally a fan of Spanish food, but this tasted better than what I ate in Barcelona. The squid ink rice and octopus were the best two dishes!
R. K.
Some of the best tapas I have ever had cannot recommend this place enough! Incredible food great value for money and fab location!
R.
I would rate it a one star michelin myself! Everything was amazingly done with decent prices:)
C.
I'm Spanish. I know good Spanish food when I see it . And I don't see it a lot in London. But today is a new day. A new dawn. A new era .... for Spanish food. Barrica ladies and gentleman. Also great atmosphere
E. B.
Excellent service, friendly and professional at the same time!
The place is nice but nothing special. The tapas were ok. We had padron peppers that were excellent, patatas bravas that were ok, the pollo which was tasty and the ox cheeks cannelloni which was ok! The best part were the desserts, the churros and the goat cheese dessert (rustic)!
Prices were high for the quantity of food but that’s normal for downtown London!
r.
Very nice arroz negro and cod. Went on LRF lunch menu.
Enjoyed the interesting wines too. Friendly waitress but service a bit slow as seemed to be only the one lady working the floor..
N. G.
loved this place!!! Great vegan options, really tasty food and enjoyable atmosphere. Great service
T. T.
A warm and welcoming staff that made the best experience for us. Not just the food was the most astonishing and tasty that I’ve ever tried in London, the variety of wines and beverages delighted our palate.
We will definitely come back.
A. O.
Stumbled on this place Early on a Friday night. The food Is incredible and very reasonably priced. The service was as good as the food. Would definitely recommend. You probably need to book Enjoy
d.
The most delicious meals, everything we ordered outdid our expectations. Oh and Marta, the sweetest woman ever, went out of her way to make our experience comfortable and made sure we were well looked after. Will 100% be returning, nothing negative to say about our dining experience. Thank you!
M. G. (.
Lovely food and restaurant, service was a bit slow but they were very friendly 😊
R. B.
Loved the scallops, the bread and caramel ice-cream dessert, the sangria and the vegetarian tortilla! Thank you to Marta for the lovely suggestions ❤️ she was really sweet. Overall nice place and happy to go there again :)
S. B.
The food in general is great, place a bit crowded, atmosphere also nice. However, the patatas bravas were from frozen potatoes, which definitely shouldn't be found in a Michelin approved restaurant.
A. C.
Was an amazing food experience, unexpected! It's a small portions plate but could be shared. Good price and friendly staff.
L. A.
Omg this place insane! I felt like I was in Spain all over again! The gambas was soo fresh and velvety texture just the way you would have in Spain.. It was soo busy and I am gald we found space in the bar, definitely coming back again..
m. l.
This is one of the tapas top restaurant. Worth to try the pork terrine and the quail with fennels.
Unforgettable!
J. J.
Been on the hunt of Spanish food in London for years, been disappointed so many times. At last ..this place hits the spot so harrrrrrrrd.will be back!
A. J.
The service was amazing, lovely staff that were really nice to talk to, helpful, friendly, and quick! Food was delicious and came out quickly. All around great experience would highly recommend 😄
T. M.
Fantastic family run place.
Ox cheek and octopus us fantastic.
Drink the ribera red.
R.
Good service and location. Tapas was inconsistent, some were good and some terrible. The breaded chicken awful, the fresh bread not fresh at all but the prawns and chorizo spectacular.
J. C.
Fabulous food that makes you feel you are transported to the streets of Barcelona
I. H.
Great food, good value, amazing service..
P.
Everything was perfect and all the dishes were DELICIOUS!!! I especially love the steak, the pork, the churros and the fried pork skin. Will definitely visit again!
P. P.
Good little find - nice ambiance good service and good food! Would recommend
M. I.
Brilliant Spanish tapas in the London area with a large menu and on the wall specials.
The food was amazing where we started with around 5 small plates between 2, then ordered a few more - service and food was outstanding and came out very quick.
The red wine and sangria we had was also amazing and highly recommended for the price we paid.
A must visit and will go back in the near future.
J. G.
Absolutely superb. Great menu, great wine and great service. Think this is probably the best tapas restaurant in London.
F. T.
One of my favorite restaurants in London. I am native Spanish and this place has it all. Great tasty food, good selection of wines, superb gin&tonic and best service.
Marta, the manager, always greats me with a great smile and excellent attention to detail.
J. J.
What could be better then a good Negroni to accompany a great Spanish food at Saturday afternoon?
G. S.
Fantastic tapas very friendly and great service.
S. W.
Wonderful Tapas, excellent quality and great taste. The team are very welcoming and friendly. Will definitely be dropping by again!
F. C.
Food was absolutely amazing. Ordered 6 dishes to share between the two of us and then dessert to end. Really enjoyed the scallop, cuttlefish rice and ox cheeks. Restaurant is cosy and staff are friendly and attentive! They had a lot of sherry to choose from. Will definitely come back again and recommend!
P. S.
Highly recommended. Top choice of restaurant. Loads of choices of high quality tapas. Amazing atmosphere. Super friendly staff. We will definitely come back very soon!!
F. M.
Popped in here on a weekday recently. It's a cozy spot, and well decorated. Very busy for a Tuesday, which I guess is a good thing. Food was reasonably priced a very tasty. Tapas was top notch. Bit hard to get in and out of our seats as were were a large table and boxed in a corner but that's a very minor gripe. Will be back.
S. B.
Amazing drinks menu, great atmosphere, friendly and efficient service, great food too!
T.
I really wanted to like this place as it's a stone's throw away from my work. The service was nice and a good wine selection. The food was nothing but average however. Certainly not bad but it all felt rather basic, flavours not very well combined so tasted like dried herbs scattered on mayonnaise for the patatas bravas, very dry tomato toast, and rather sub-par croquettes. I'd definitely select this place as a glass of wine after work but recommend venturing elsewhere for food.
R. P.
Delicious tapas. The food was wonderful, excellent wine and really great service. The manager was lovely and she was very attentive and friendly. Will definitely return
A. B.
Delicious food, really nice atmosphere.
I. S.
Came here for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. The place was quite empty. The 4 of us shared a bottle of white wine and 6 tapas plates – 3 x veggie and 3 x meaty ones… and paid £20 per person (£80 total).
Quite pricey, considering the size of the portions. We all left still hungry.
They have some good wines on the menu, however seriously overpriced.
The staff was attentive, friendly and helpful.
N. T.
The venue itself is interesting and lively. Most tables are high with bar stools, which do become uncomfortable after a while. We had a good selection of food and whilst many dishes were fine, the octopus was tough and over cooked. When we arrived, I was surprised to be offered a table that the staff were using to have a meeting it appeared, even though we had booked. The manageress also often interrupted our waitress whilst she was explaining the menu or a dish to us. Overall disappointing.
T. W.
Friendly service but the food can be more salty!
J. S.
Food is not bad at all. Overall feels a bit too squeezed and they were a bit hinting that you order you eat and you leave.
D. F.
A must visit if you are in the area. We were quite a big group and even tough it was a packed Thursday evening they found space for us. We went on with our waiters recommendations and what what started as a quick unplanned dinner turned into one of the best dinners we've had in some time. Everything was really fresh and tasty, the dishes arrived at a perfect pace and together with the wines it was a real treat.
Will be back. Their G&T menu looks amazing!!!
e. B.
OK, the food in this place was good, authentic dishes, and tasty, but our experience with their service was poor. While I have only been there once, for Lunch on a weekday, I doubt I will be going back, as we have never been served so poorly anywhere else, not even in Spain, and by all means not in London. We ordered 7 different tapas for 2 adults and 2 children - our favourites to start with - hoping from there we could decide what else we would be ordering. The problem was, they brought one tapa at the time and then you had to wait at least 15 minutes with empty plates, hungry children asking "why isnt there anything else to eat“ And only after those 15 minutes they would bring the other tapa. Now, imagine sharing one tapa with 4 people each time. Picture this: sharing one small leg of Octopus between 4 people. You are obviously done in 4 minutes!... And then waiting again. So after an hour, we were still missing one item in our order, and we decided to leave, as it was not worth ordering anything else only to continue with the pattern: sharing one tiny dish at a time, and then waiting another 15 minutes to get the other one. I mean, at least you would expect to have three at the same time when sharing! But they never even brought the marinated olives we asked in the first place, which don't even require cooking.
We left to another restaurant to finish our lunch and have dessert, kind of starting over. Shame, because I really wanted to try their desserts, but we were frustrated already. To be fair, there was a larger group that seemed to have the manager busy with their wine requirements, but it wasn't even full house. Like I said, the quality of the food was good, but it only confirms the theory that going to a "tapas bar" outside Spain is not the best idea
S. B.
A good authentic and rustic tapas. Booking essential, very busy on a Friday night! A large and quite pricey wine menu, we found ordering a glass of wine each rather than a bottle suited us well.
S. S.
Some of the tapas was really good, and some not so much - a bit hit and miss. The servings are very small too. We had plenty of plates, but left feeling hungry. Overall not a bad experience, but will spend our money elsewhere!
C. F.
The food is fantastic! Possibly one of the best Spanish/tapas meals I've ever had. A big statement I know. The specials were to die for. Firstly we had fish stock broth with squid, cod and prawns, the sauce was rich and flavoursome, perfect for dipping bread in. The Iberian beef with Caramalised onions was tender, juicy and packed with flavour - a real winner on our table. Another highlight were the pork croquettes, light, crispy and cheesy. The extensive wine list is also something to marvel, the waiter knew his wine and recommended accordingly to our tables taste and mood. The only criticism is that we waited a while to give our order, although the restaurant was fairly busy and only 1 guy was waiting tables. The food came very quickly as soon as it's ready which was perfect. If you are in Fitzrovia and love tapas, you must check this place out. We will be back.
H. M.
The food here is absolutely delicious and the wine menu is extensive. Unlike some other tapas bars in London they bring your dishes out over a longer time rather than everything at once. Service is always polite and friendly. On the slightly pricey side, but I think reasonable when compared to other tapas restaurants of a similar standard.
R. C.
Arrived into London for the weekend and we were craving tapas, so we took a chance and googled "Spanish tapas near me." Barrica came to the top of the list and after visiting it is easy to see why.
Their were a wide variety of tapas, both vegetarian salad-style ones (were amazing) and meat one (I loved the chorizo with sweet potato). We had sloe gin cocktails which were absolutely amazing. Plus sitting outside and relaxing whilst enjoying great food is never wrong.
The service, the food, and ambiance were all great. So it is easy to recommend this place to others!
F. D.
A gem of Soho, Barrica Tapas is second to none. Great staff, a fabulous selection of wine, gin and tapas, you can't go wrong. Always visiting and has remained a staple favourite since first visiting last year. Try the acorn fed pork, it's wonderful!
E. c.
Never disappoints! Still some of the best and most authentic tapas in London! Everything is cooked to perfection and thier Bravas are delicious. Very good wine list, gin cocktails and lovely knowledgeable staff, all in a cute cozy setting. Book and go!
T. A.
Discovered this restaurant by chance and so happy we did its excellent food and so authentec. Food was so delicious. Super five star.
U. I.
Excellent tapas restaurant.
Food and drinks took us back to Spain.
Great friendly and attentive staff.
Will be back very soon. Thank you
R. C.
This used to be one of my preferred Spanish restaurants. Unfortunately, after my last visit in the weekend it proves to have lost its charm. The food has lost its soul. Not as good as it used to be.
Nevertheless, their drinks, particularly their Gin Selection, is still on point. The service is still great!
S. C.
Stumbled on this place walking through Goodge Street. Was seated at the bar. Tried a number of dishes - jamon, tortilla (which was deliberately cold, but really good), perfectly done croquettes and meatballs. Service was excellent throughout, and was given samples of wine so that we could pick a bottle suiting our taste.
Highly recommended.
T. S.
A great evening meal for our daughter's 18th birthday. The food was really nice and all of the staff made this a wonderful evening.
W. G.
The most incredible Spanish food (I spent 3 years visiting my parents in Madrid) and nothing compares to what I tried. Incredible, hospitable hosts and such a lovely atmosphere. You really leave forgetting you're in central London. Wholeheartedly recommend.
D. H.
I like the food here slot, along with the ambiance and staff. However, I do find it a tad pretentious, as the portions are small, even by tapas standards. It's also a bit pricey, but definitely worth a visit.
N. D.
We were walk ins. The place was really busy - literally every single seat taken on this Thursday evening. No idea if that is normal or not. The food was nice - higher quality tapas than most places, with more niche/richer/unique options than other places. Service was a little bit lacking but fair enough given how full the place was.
j. g.
Delicious tapas and fab service in a really cosy and quite authentic feeling place. Almost didn’t come after reading the last few reviews, but food was amazing! Especially the Jamon croquettes and the blue cheese and hazelnut carrot salad, so yum!
M. S.
Really good tapas restaurant!! I went last night (8/3) with my friend and we have ate pulpo (octopus), sardines, spicy potatoes, meat, fried cod balls, pimientos, ham, prawns.. everything with a lovely Spanish wine... then I can say that the restaurant was really nice and the staff was really friendly and helpful!! I recommend it!
S. W.
Had high hopes following some good reviews.
The food was good quality however the portion sizes were a bit stingy. Particulary on the blue goats cheese (we received a paltry slice which was less than 50mm think).
Nonetheless the quality was good, and the choice of meats, cheeses and wines is worth mentioning.
We found the service a bit overbearing at times. The waiters would loiter over you waiting for you to finish a dish and then snap away the plate. I don't like people watching me eat. And I especially don't like them taking away my plate without asking. Conversely it took them ages to bring out our wine. We had received 2 dishes before they finally came with our bottle.
Finally the air conditioning was up a bit too high. I asked them if they could reduce it a little. No one did anything.
P. S.
Some very tasty tapas and pleasant atmosphere but over priced. The wine in particular will bump up the bill so if you've got the cash to splash this is a nice place to be, but it's not good value.
F. T.
I am so happy to have found this place near my office. I am from Spanish descent and I can tell you that the food here is nothing short of authentic.I would strongly recommend "carrillada iberica" which is once of my favorite dishes now.
The staff are always very helpful and nice to talk to. I feel warmed and welcomed from minute 1. Marta now even remembers my favorite dish and G&T (another of their specialties).
If you want great Spanish food and excellent service you won't be disappointing.
S. B.
Excellent food (varied veggie options), wine, service, value and ambience. Not much more one could ask for.
C. H.
What a meal! The food, drink and service were of very high standard. All the food we selected was very good but highlights were the chicken livers in a sweet sherry sauce, chargrilled squid with romesco and alioli, a beef special and the croquettes were worth visiting alone! (when i say alone i mean alone so that I don't have to share). Such a great evening out with my sisters and brother in law, super friendly service (and the staff were very knowledgeable about foods and drinks). And the gin and tonics ended a very enjoying meal. Highly recommended.
A. A.
Really like this restaurant. There's plenty of variety on the menu. Raw ingredients are excellent and the dishes are well thought through and cooked. The service is relaxed and friendly. And the wine list is pretty extensive
A. C.
To be at this place, eating food made with proud and high professionalism it's to my understanding a synonymous of happiness, almost an excirsice of hedonism. Service its what it should be:friendly, helpful, not in your face, knowledgeable. Food? Well, the beef cheeks its a representation culinary skills at it's best , proud, one can see and spot love on the dishes.. Thanks to all staff, a remarkable experience
J. L. G.
Very Spain-like experience, from the decoration, with most Spanish waiters (not students) to the food and wine. Fairly large place, with bar, stool area and seated area all in one set. The food was incredible, we ordered the ibérico ham, bread, the cheese board, the Squid with ink (which was tender and delicious!), the octopus (Amazing!), the truffled goat cheese beetroot croquetas (a must!), the duck toast, the cheese spinach, and churros for dessert. A rounded dinner for a group of 5 which we enjoyed very much. We will come back.
The only “con” is that half of the seats are in stool chairs - no lower back support which I particularly don’t enjoy.
O. J.
Like the food at this place, we had the cheese board which was particularly good. The wine is always good and the service impeccable . The desserts are also very good. IT is more for a party of two but i would recommend for larger parties also. IT is worth booking well in advance to ensure your booking is secured
N. S.
The restaurant is very cosy from inside. The prices are a little bit overpriced and the portions are really small. They serve only tapas so if you are really hungry you need to order a couple of plates just for yourself. The staff is friendly. Good selection of wine and tapas.
E. F.
Only been once, but I am dying to go back. We couldn't get a table so sat at the bar but that made for a really nice set-up. Dishes were brought out every few minutes, beer was good (hangover free salt beer ftw) and the guy behind the bar helpful. When I read reviews saying 'food was dull' or whatever I have to wonder, do those reviewers really know anything about food? Sounds like lazy criticism to me.
I would like to have a proper sit down there and really test it out. As of now, I give it... FIVE STARS.
S. M.
The staff are friendly and the food is fantastic. The spreadable chorizo was great, the patatas bravas had an Indian twist, the lemon chicken was also great. They change their menu often so you get a new flavour every time.
H. W.
Best classic tapas in town. Great dishes.
Chorizo, jamon and squid all delicious. Sometimes they have an amazing duck breast that melts in the mouth. A fantastic sherry selection too.
T. R.
Went with some friends on Saturday. Although it was very busy, they were able to get us a table. Being Spanish myself, I'm aware that tapas are small dishes. I was pleasantly surprised that the portions here are quite big. We had a good variety to share, the winners were cod croquettes, black ink rice, truffled presa Iberica and the charcuterie board. I was full but still had some room for dessert. I opted for the home made cheese cake with blood orange marmalade. UNBELIEVABLE!!
P. M.
A real gem if you fancy some simple and quality Spanish tapas in Central London, at absolutely honest prices and with Spain-like warm-hearted service.
Very good selection of wines, fantastic food menu and all in all the type of place that will boost your mood and energy even with London's weather :)
If you are in a group, booking is highly recommended.
J. G.
Amazing food with a large choice of tapas! Great cocktails too and interesting list of personalised gin and tonics! Great service!
One of my favourite spot in town!
B. K.
Really good tapas and wine as long as you're comfy with ordering a bunch of dishes to share. I spent £120 between two on six glasses of wine and six sharing plates, and had a wonderful time.
J. H.
Stumbled on this tapas bar and restaurant while walking in Fitzrovia. I had the specials, 1) tuna tartare which was excellent (and reminded me of poké), 2) large prawn called carabineros which was also very tasty. The black ink rice with prawn and squid bits like the squid ink risotto, and also excellent. So all of these small dishes were excellent (but bit on the pricy side, esp the carabineros). The restaurants was busy with lots of happy people having wine/drinks and tapas. I would recommend it highly.

Myself and a couple of friends went there on a Saturday night.
We had a few tapas, nicely prepared and with fresh quality ingredients. In particular I enjoyed the codfish salad with oranges and black olive (a mediterranean classic), the beef and the croquetas. We were offered some cheese and marmelade for starters along with bread.
Wine is a little bit too expensive considering the house red, tagged £15, is average.
Service was good, genuinely spanish and accommodating.
I didn't like the service charge on the bill.
D. G.
Large variety of beverages and great selection of tapas. Staff was very friendly and the restaurant has the perfect atmosphere to spend an amazing Saturday night.
Food is beyond expectations, absolutely terrific!!!

Ideal for: Tapas for two on a warm Fitzrovia evening ☀️
The bar snacks and main dishes were lovely. The only dish I wouldn't recommend is the Tortilla. There is plenty of vegetarian choices and the patatas bravas were delightful. I don't normally enjoy Spanish wine but they seemed to have a nice selection and the Red I had was lovely!
F. K.
Food was delicious, especially the ham and cheese croquettes. Our waitress was amazing and very sweet. Great place to grab a bite and a drink (try the creme brulee pina colada) at night.
J. A.
Excellent food & wine accompanied by fast, friendly service!
C. F.
I really enjoyed Barrica, it's a really welcoming place to share typical spanish "tapas" with friends. The staff was very attentive and very friendly, we found the best environment to enjoy the amazing food is served there. We were looking for the most famous spanish tapas, but we were surprised to have found really flavourful and sophisticated dishes besides the "patatas bravas, tortilla, ..." in the menu and as specials...amazing balance quality-prize. I'll be back 100% ;)
L. H.
Bustling spot, really good mix of tapas dishes and wine list. Also - the gin list with pairings is also pretty special! Excellent, quick service. Would go again.
안.
I went here yesterday had surprisingly amazing food, frendly serving and was nice atmosphere.
Happy to find out a good place to go again at London central! Easy access from tube station as well
I think the food quality was sooooo good with good price!
G. K. G.
Amazing food but a little cramped at the back tables. We were next to a very loud guy on Valentine's day who was getting pretty drunk and obnoxious. But apart from that, place is great!
C. G.
Wow! What a wonderful experience! the staff was fantastic, very friendly and knowledgeable and the food was delicious! I did love the presa and the pulpo... hhmmm yummy!. 5 tapas between two were enough. Very much look forward to come back and repeat the experience!. Highly recommended!!.
M. K.
we have been coming here for years now. Delicious food, great selection of wines including some fabulous dessert ones and cosy yet chic interior
W. L.
Delicious selection of spanish tapas matched with wine as recommended by the staff. The servings were sometimes a little too small but the food was delicious. A great selection of iberico pork is also available here.
R. B.
I was told for a long time that it was one of the best Spanish place in London, or at least in Fitzrovia - which I confirm! If the interior is quite basic but warm, the traditional food is excellent. With no reservation possible and the small size of the restaurant, we had to wait before getting in. However, I must specify than the welcoming by the staff was terrible !

I visited this restaurant for the first time earlier this month and I was very impressed by the quality of both the food and the service. We were served by Martha, who seemed to smile the whole time, fit in time to speak to us and generally made us feel very welcome, even though it was a very busy evening and it was packed. I would recommend this Tapas to anyone!
D. A.
Nestled in the heart of Fitzrovia, Barrica is a fantastic little tapas bar serving quality wines and sherry. I went as a foursome which allowed us to order a lot from the menu ideal for having a little taste of everything.
The service was friendly and we were paid a lot of attention which was nice. After ordering most of the menu the dishes filled the table and we dived in. Highlights were: The Padron Peppers which were seriously addictive, the Ham Croquettes were pure comfort food and the braised veal cheeks with Pedro Ximenez which was melt in the mouth.
We indulge in a bottle of Matusalem Sweet Oloroso sherry which was similar to a desert wine and really worked with the meal. For dessert the olive oil salted caramel ice-cream choc Ice is a definite winner.
A popular restaurant so make sure you book!
R. H.
OMG you've got to go, the food is amazing. So much so we had seconds. Good vibe to the place and friendly and attentive staff. Good wine menu too.
P. C.
I've been coming here for years and it's been consistently good. You can pop in for just a drink (I recommend a glass of Fino) and maybe a tapa or two or have enough for a complete meal. Always good food, always good service.
d. d.
The exquisite food. The very warm attention was like being with family, highly recommended.
V. M.
After two visits I can confirm that Barrica makes the best patatas bravas I've ever had - including in Spain. The tortilla is also insanely good. Staff always friendly and helpful. Will be back frequently!
M. B.
Delicious good quality tapas. We had our 11week old with us and the staff were just wonderful. Will definitely be back to try more.
A. L.
Lovely place, we were walk- ins on a Saturday evening. Food is really good and tasty. Staff is really helpful, friendly and prepared! Will come back for sure! 😊
l. v. e.
Absolutely amazing, felt like i was back in valencia. My compliments both for the kitchen and the waitresses. The food and service were unforgettable, thank you and we will definetely be back again.
J. S.
Delicious after work meal. Delicious wine. Delicious food. Delicious. It was so delicious that I was subsequently cursed for enjoying my delicious food too much, with all the tubes being out of action and a horrendous 70 minute bus journey. Will nevertheless face my demons and return.
D. M.
Found this lovely little tapas restaurant/bar after a press event with the ladies. Lovely food and friendly service. I think our waitress loved my attempted pronunciation of Spanish words too! Would definitley return. London gem.
P. R.
Nice tapas meal, chorizo is particularly nice, some of the other dishes are a little bland. Service is reasonable and it's not overly noisy so good for a group of friends.
G. L. P.
This is Barcelona, lovingly transplanted to the heart of London. Upon walking through the door you feel the time slow down, the sand between your toes and the hairs on our chest sprout (just the chaps).
Equally passionate about the drinking side of things as the food, you'll find Spanish lagers in the fridge, wines maintained at an optimum 16 degrees celsius, sherries, G&Ts and lovingly made coffees. For food it's unsurprisingly tapas, and Barrica have taken inspiration from all over Spain.
A delightful spot to get away from the chaos of Soho.
N. B.
My favourite Spanish restaurant in London. The tapas is excellent, and I'd highly recommend the quail. The staff are friendly and knowledgable about the food and wine.
K.
Is a fantastic Spanish tapas pleace with good wines and friendly staff, me and my boyfriend are regular customers there!! They also change the dishes often so you never try the same.
T. F.
Very traditional tapas, quite pricey and not the best tasting. Great idea with the tradition however long wait for food.
I. T.
Made a reservation and was seated on the bar, which was a little bit disappointing but that soon didn't bother after receiving great service from the waiter and waitress. Food quality and food portion are great.
T. P.
Excellent food. They have the classics and some new stuff. Everything is very well executed. They also have Estrella Inedit by Ferrán Adriá.
A. O.
Just amazing food was very good
Staff very friendly
Not pricy
Special mention for the lamb shoulder with pear and the chorizo with sweat potatoes mash.
Best Spanish restaurant in London
M. S.
The food & vino weren't bad, but the domineering service kills it. Waitresses hovering around your table to clear tapas plates as soon as the last bite has been picked up - not even consumed. They tend to fill up the tables towards the street and then pretend they're full - while tables towards the back are empty! And please don't charge Brindisa/ Iberica prices when your food ain't in the same league.
E. A.
Amazing food, lovely wine and wonderful staff! Every time I go I get surprised by a new exciting tapa! Definitely a must go!
J. G.
Nice quality Spanish food with a modern touch. Their olives are amazing and if they have buñuelos you have to try them as dessert, they are exquisite.
L. Q.
Great Spanish restaurant for Tapas to share, the food is great and the wine selection is very good. It felt like being in Spain, I'm definitely going to come back again!
G. M. S.
Excellent food, fantastic wine, staff were lovely and accommodating. Gets a little louder than most tapas bars.
R. W.
Food and wine were v good as usual, but service was slow and not up to their usual high levels. Hopefully just a small blip as I've enjoyed this place for years and will definitely be back again.
G.
outstanding food value and great service- this is not normal for London! special mention to Marta
Raphael and veronica
B. S.
Fantastic food - we went during the eat out to help out window and had a brilliant experience. Will 100% be back!
M. M.
Good food, fast, friendly staff, fitted me in.
E. L.
Tapas & strong drinks! Came here as one of the stops on my hen's night crawl - really great service & decently priced bottles of prosecco. Also, delicious patatas bravas.
J. J.
Food was amazing although the price tag of £150 for two people I thought was a little steep. Compliments to the chef managers you need to work on your pricings.
E. F.
Had mostly vegetarian dishes. Great selection, wonderful flavours, good beer, fast service. Would recommend artichockes, and cauliflower.
A. G.
Thank you for a wonderful meal. Service was very good. Will come again.
K. H.
I have been here 4/5 times and never even let down by the amAzing food and wine. I love tapas and here there is no better. I love the bustle of the place and the atmosphere!
S. M.
Great daily specials as well as standard tapas. I had grilled chiperones and braised ox cheek in Pedro Ximenez. Outstanding.
G. J.
Sherry was wonderful, I would come here for drinks, however the tapa’s weren’t amazing. Salt Yard a few doors down is a better flavor adventure.
J. G.
Great selection of tapas - staff helpful.
Worth visiting even if there is a queue.
Wine priced realistically.
B. R.
Felt like I was in San Sebastián.
N. B.
Every dish we had was amazing. Some of the best tapas I've ever had, including in Spain.
H. H.
Came for lunch with a group of seven on a Saturday. There was no wait. It’s a bit expensive like all London restaurants. Tastes not bad.
M. C.
Always brilliant. The staff are super helpful and friendly and the tapas is superb. One of my favourite places in that part of London.
V. F. R.
The food was amazing, and the wine selection is varied. The wine list is very explicit and helps you decide which wine fits your food and taste better.
T. F.
Love this place. It can get a little busy but the food is great and so was the wine. Service is better than most at the price.
F. G.
Good selection of tapas. Portions a bit short on my view, but good quality. A bit loud but still enjoyable.
D. B.
Nice ambience but pretty average tapas. We ordered a bunch of things and not a single dish really stood out.
E. c. d. l. t.
The quality and taste of the food was amazing, we only missed bigger portions. A bit expensive for the tiny bit we ate.
S. M.
Octupus is Devine. Went there midweek and the staff were really friendly. Great range of wines. Fully recommend!!
R. B.
Fantastic experience, amazing food and fabulous wine. Would highly recommend
N.
One of my favourite Tapa bars in the area and everytime we are in London we are usually here for drinks/bites ( though not usually a full dinner as we treat this as a tapa bar should be ) with friends etc
Having been on so many occasions over the years and then recently on a trip to London everything remains worthy of a busy tapa bar/restaurant - menu has something for most people - the drinks menu most definitely so with some of the old favourite jerez etc
Staff are are all great and knowledgeable and chatty when its not so busy - though it does get busy depending on your timing.
Counter / bar area - wall perches - long table on entry or a bunch of tables are the back with 3 smaller tables out front on the pavement
Pretty reasonable pricing so a good all around spot for a even out bar hopping or tapa hopping as the fitzrovia area has an increasing tapa bar growth - salt bar next door looked interesting and has some good reviews - maybe next time
A. R.
The place to be if fancy enjoying spanish food, friendly staff is just the cherry on the top of the cake! considering going for lunch tomorrow. Thanks!!
L. O.
It was a group of us eating there and asked for missed variety of dishes to be brought up rather than ordering individually. Lovely good answer would recommend!
J. N. E. B.
one of my favourite places. always delicious. sometimes have to attract the staff attention, but that's usually because it's a busy vibey place....for good reason!

(Translated) Very nice atmosphere and great food but unfortunately very fast "settlement" of the guests. Almost American proportions, of Spanish cosiness that invites you to linger is little to feel, here money must be earned and the guest quickly decide and clear the place quickly. That justifies the star deduction. Otherwise, a great gin and wine list, great food.
(Original)

(Translated) Amazing Spanish restaurant at the heart of Fitzrovia. A lot of different choices of Spanish food with a different twist. I just can't describe the desserts menu with word, special mention for the "Torrija" and smokey goat cheese ice cream. The list of gin tonic is a madness, we ordered a couple of it and nobody was disappointed. Marta was lovely with us and very helpful all the time. I'll repeat again soon.

(Translated) We have already come two or three times to have a wine and share some tapas. The tapas are very delicious: the cod croquettes, the secret and the liver, for example, very good. As always in London, it is a bit expensive, but at least here you are happy. In any case, at this point (10 years in London) I think there is no point in trying to find good Spanish food at a Spanish price.
We have already been here 2 or 3 times sharing some tapas. Food is actually really good; tasty cod croquettes, iberic pork "secret" and livers, for example. As it always happens in London with Spanish Food, it's a bit pricey, but, on the contrary to many other Spanish restaurants, here the quality is worth the price (I've been in London for 10 years and I think is a bit pointless trying to find good spanish food at spanish prices;))

En cualquier caso, a estas alturas (10 anos en London) creo que no tiene sentido intentar encontrar comida española buena a precio español.
