Cheap and cheerful. Staff are nice. Service is hit and miss. But that's all down to how busy they are. Food is good for what you pay especially with buffet. They have reduced their menu down but I noticed the service is faster since they have? All in all for what you pay, the food is good.

This restaurant is situated along a busy road so it is not hard to find. Parking is tricky but this can be sorted out by parking in the shopping centre and walk there (only 5 min and is much needed after a buffet!!) Food is great, we went for the buffet. The insturction was a bit confusing at the start (8items/time)but generally they put the clause there just to avoid waste, its not the case that they are trying to give you less food which is good. The portion is very generous and the price is reasonable. The salmon is fresh and the hot food like dumplings is good too. I would recommend clams and sweet prawns as not many japanese restaurants would offer these. Manager/owner was nice and he opened the door for me when he saw me walking with my buggy. Nice service. Food served quite quickly. We went there at 5pm. Not many customers around and I would recommend to go there during non peak hours so to avoid disappointment. One thing to note is they dont have time restrictions on buffet like other restaurant so you can relax and enjoy without pressure (not like you need to rush to get it done in 90mins ended up with an unhappy face and an upset stomach) This is the first time I tried this out based on friends' recommendation. Would definitely go there again 😍

Wanted to try this place for a while, I love sushi but was a little out off by the look of the outside. If you can get over that it really is a good find. The manager was very helpful but the other staff are just in there own world. There menu selection is fantastic, lots to choose from. All I would say is check your bill before you pay as we was being charged for things we didn’t have, lucky my friend noticed and we had the items removed. I would definitely got there again.

Great place to eat! The service was excellent especially as our family consists of 3 children a 1 year old and newborn twins. The food was delicious and fresh we all loved the buffet and yum-yum the octopus balls are amazing. Great value for money. Oh and try the bubble tea it's a bit of fun!

They do a really good Sushi buffet. The sashimi is excellent and they also have a great selection of vegetarian dishes. This place is very family friendly and the kids loved it too. Overall, I'd highly recommend Bento. We had a great evening.

Had the sushi here, it is great tasting I must say, don’t be put off by the shop outside or inside even, it could do with a really good decor but that aside food is good. Usually get takeaway from here or their sister restaurant I Love Gyoza. The food is very good. Eating in was a nice experience as the food is super hot/ fresh, no chance to get soggy in layers of packaging on the back of a motorbike. The restaurant is cosy and unpretentious, casual dress and a nice family vibe. Not overly expensive and good quality food.

This is our go to for oriental food. The Singapore vermicelli noodles are amazing! The husband loves the crispy beef. The ribs are delicious and the soup is great too! The prices and portion sizes are what us northerners are used to meaning there's always leftovers for lunch the next (2 sometimes) day(s). Wouldn't recommend the chicken balls - they're very greasy and I've had much better elsewhere. Even then, they're nice, there's just much yummier things to order! And the food always comes quickly and packed well, which makes the whole experience just that little bit sweeter.

I have always loved this restaurant tasty dishes. Restaurant is always neat and staff friendly. However, I am giving 4 stars because on my last visit 15/01/2021, I place an order for collection/takeaway and to my surprise upon opening the dishes, the portions where soo small (I ordered large portions) compared to previous large portions, I do believe the restaurant was running out of supplies which is very likely due to the lockdown and recent Brexit, however the restaurant should have indicated in their website that only small portion is available because I paid for large portion. Overall a good place to get tasty Chinese food

Lovely staff! Had a big group of people (15) in one long table. Food didn't take long to come. Great food. If we ordered something mid-way, service was still the same. Staff kept coming round to check we're okay. Overall will come back! The only bad thing is that sometimes there's very strong cigarette smoke coming in to the place. This can't be helped because the restaurant is on the main road, but maybe they need a second door after the front door. Could easily stop this.

Went here after asking for places that do a good vegan selection and they sent me a copy of the menu. Well, what a great place. I have walked past loads and never been in and I was missing out. The atmosphere is really calm and peaceful, nicely decorated and very clean. The veggie and vegan options are delicious, the tofu crispy pancakes are a must try and the veggie sushi selection is brilliant. We will be going back.

I do love good, quality food and the team at Bento really do a fantastic job. They are my go to delivery whenever I want a takeaway. A word of advice to the owner if I may... allow a quality graffiti artist to give the front shutters a Japanese themed makeover and your business will fly...the tag 'artist' should respect and leave it alone. ✌

We were 2 ordered the buffet and got 3 rounds, Sashimi is class (mackerel, seabass, salmon, octopus & clams) everything else was good. One of the most descent sushi buffet places, variety of choices and little restrictions on what or how many you can order. Ate loads and paid £50! Inckuding constantly refilled Jasmine tea pot! Staff are so nice and on it!

Made an online via Deliveroo. The food was outstanding, the sushi, sashimi and nigiri were super fresh :) The Chinese hot dishes had incredible flavours. The pork dim sum was so tasty! Everything was absolutely fresh, great quality, delicious!!! Look forward to order again :)

We placed an order with Bento through Uber Eats which turned out to be a disaster as we received someone else's order. It was very disappointing to say the least. It took a couple of stressful hours to resolve the problem however, thanks to the kindness of a male Bento staff whom in the end had our order delivered to us very late, we were very satisfied as the food was delicious and piping hot..a BIG thank you for turning our bad evening around. We will definitely order again but directly through Bento! :)

I love this restaurant. We order from here every Friday now and I always get my bubble tea. Couple of weeks ago it was forgotten in my order, but after speaking with the manager they made the effort to send it on the next delivery. Very good food, good customer service. Highly recommend.

Lovely decor and pleasant atmosphere too bad the location was terrible as businesses nearby were run down and needed much TLC. Not their fault really but did put us off a little. Ordered fried tofu - crispy on the outside but not the usual silky tofu in the centre which was a little disappointing. Sashimi and sushi rolls tastes great especially the dragon roll and the duck roll but the beef skewer was a real bummer -bland and not aromatic. Prawn tempura looked nice but the flour was rather dense and not light and fluffy as should be. Overall quality of food was ok but not amazing. Hit and miss really.

It was my mum who suggest to come here after the new take over from Chinese restaurant and now it's pan Asia food. They do a.le.carte menu or buffet menu. We choose to order from the a le carte menu. Wasn't bad. The service was great, food came out great. Price is reasonable as good portion size too. Will need to try the buffet menu next time. They also serve bubble tea too which means I don't have to travel to central London to get bubble tea which is a bonus. Recommend this place.

I am going to give 3 stars, would be 4 but I feel like Bento let themselves down on takeaway orders. Every time I have ordered a takeaway for delivery something is missing/wrong. The first time, an item was missing, the second time, an item was missing and the third time they gave me full fat coke instead of diet coke. Someone needs to properly check the takeaway orders before they go out for me to give 4 stars as I have had quite a poor experience to date. Response to owner: This has happened over a period of 3-months so I think it's just a lack of diligence on your side.

*Update* I called again and the person that answered has been very helpful and apologised for the situation. They explained that they had some cover / new staff but more importantly were honest, explained everything apologised and refunded the money I was owed. Keeping me updated along the way. I can't really ask for more than that as an effort to fix things for me so I've updated the review to reflect this. *Original review* 1 stars because the food is tasty. But otherwise I'd be giving 0 stars, and it's a shame but this is all because of terrible customer service and repeatedly blanking me after their mistake. -- In summary, my issue is: All I want is my money back that I'm fairly owed for food that never arrived and some common decency to reply to emails along the way. Is that too much to ask? Maybe eating in is good but I can't recommend anything other than avoiding take away orders from here entirely. They can't meet the demand and then leave you hanging. -- The details I ordered a take away on their own site last weekend at 19:05. I called the restaurant at 20:10 asking for an update (I was given a 1 hr delivery estimate in the email receipt). At this point, the guy on the phone said, "sorry, the order has only been in the kitchen for 25 mins." This was frustrating but it was a busy weekend so I asked for an updated delivery time. Considering that the same thing had happened at the start of the month, where I waited over 2 hrs for an order they repeatedly promised was only 10 mins away, I asked him to confirm a new time for the delivery. He told me that it would be another 25 mins max. I agreed to wait but said that considering you kept letting me down last time and I haven't got hours more to wait this time for the delivery, that if it doesn't turn up in the agreed 25 mins, then please cancel the order and just refund the money. He agreed on the phone and said that's fair enough. Well, the food never arrived - shock! I rang and requested the refund and a simple email confirming everything that happened to keep a record. He agreed. A few days later, no refund or email. I used the 'contact us' email address in the email receipt from them to contact them and explain the situation. A few more days and no reply, so I rang again. I asked to speak to the manager and explained the situation to the person that answered the phone. They then passed me to another person who listened to the whole story again and then said they couldn't help either, recommending that I email them. I explained I already had and he said that email address was wrong. (Why is it in the email receipt under 'contact us'?). So, I emailed again, to the new address. Explaining everything and asking for 3 simple and perfectly reasonable requests. 1. A reply to the email to confirm they'd received it 2. An answer to when I should expect the refund, or if they had even processed it yet 3. The refund Well, it's been another few days and nothing. Not even a reply for common courtesy. If I ring again, they'll tell me to send another email or claim they're not the ones that can help. It's a shame because the house I live in orders from here so regularly that I've lost count. But simply blanking customers when they have a genuine issue caused by the restaurants inability to meet their own standards is not good enough.

Outstanding, freshly prepared food and some of the best service we've had in years. Came here with my girlfriend for a casual Sunday dinner and the interior/lighting/temperature was the perfect vibe. Easy menu. Vegetarian spring rolls are really nice. They do the simple things really well and the egg fried rice is a great example of that. No GSM, no weird bloaty feeling you get from a lot of other restaurants. Basically come here for a chilled time, friendly service and honest food!

My experience is based on an Uber eats order. We were very satisfied with the menu, as it has a huge variety. The bento box is the perfect way of trying different things without spending too much money. I have been living in Southeast for 10 years and this restaurant is definitely above your average southeast London asian food takeaway. The food is good, menu is diverse and it comes to you in a very neat way. Be wise at giving your reviews people, one star means that the SERVICE, FOOD, RESTAURANT, PRESENTATION, etc etc is bad. It shouldn't be used simply because the restaurant doesn't deliver to your area anymore. I would give it a 4 star, but I would actually like to contribute to the raise the rating of this restaurant since the food was delicious.

I give them a 5 stars. I ordered a char siew rice for lunch. And it was surprisingly good! I never thought it would be that good but I just wanna have char siew rice. The char siew is even better than those sold in Chinatown...seriously. It is tender juicy and the sauce is heaven! My friend ordered a set of salmon sashimi and maki roll. The salmon were super fresh and very generous in thick slices. I will definitely recommend to anyone and will go back again.

Love love love Bento! It's my go to East Asian take away. They have everything you could want! Their bento boxes are great and really well packaged - would like some more veggie options in the boxes though! Generally their veggie options are really great and some of the tastiest tofu I've tried. The ramen is great and well packaged for delivery. Udon noodles are also amazing, as well as their sushi. Couldn't recommend this place enough. I'm moving away from the area and sad that I can't order from here any more!

i went yesterday for an meal here, had opted for the set sushi buffet @£18.90 per head. The quality of sushi / hot food on offer were plentiful for that prices, they say it is 8 items per order, but quantity can be from 1-4 of that item. The salmon sashimi was very good, would recommend that and their choices of 🍣 (salmon & avocado). Would I come again, maybe yes with friends to enjoy a meal and take a break from a busy working calendar. P.s 8% Servive charge should be accostom to food/services as it is not taxes like clothing/products. The last reader must not eat out much? Well organised and presented and location is easy to find. If only they had baby chair and changing faculty that would be a bonus but can't ask too much.
