Giving 5 stars even though our steaks were chewy. I’ll stick to my usual order next time which is usually just a selection of starters such as the calamari and the dumplings. Good cocktails and prices are reasonable, loved the ambiance and the staff are great.

Very quirky decor. Service was slow and we were definitely forgotten about but we weren't in a rush so it didn't really bother us. The waitress was very friendly and attentive when she was around. We had one Mac and Cheese and one avo, feta and egg salad. The food was delicious and reasonably priced by London standards. I'll definitely return when I visit again.

Lovely decor, good coffee, good service and a decent menu but this place is clearly a chain optimised to knock out average food at high prices. It seems to thrive due to the lack of anywhere else that significantly better in Muswell hill which, inexplicably given the demographic is far from awash with high qualify, independent brunch spots. It’s near namesake, Bob’s does a much better job with a lot more love and it’s just down the road but was full this morning.

Lovely, chilled Friday lunch with a friend. I had the buttermilk chicken burger which includes fries. Delicious, well cooked food. The staff are all genuinely friendly, and very helpful. Looking forward to a return visit!

Great place to meet friends for brunch. There’s a great selection to choose from on the menu and both indoor & outdoor seating is available, along with fan heaters and blankets. I suspect this place is usually busy, so sometimes I can take a moment to order. Generally friendly staff. Will go back.

Good food and service, amazing location. But can get really busy and it's hard to keep up the conversation over kids screaming and all other surrounding noises. When the weather allows, it's great to sit outside and enjoy Bill's garden brunch and cappuccino, highly recommend!

The food was really good, no complaints about that. Interior is really nice as well. However, our waitress, Bella, was terrible. Extremely rude. When we asked for some tap water she called it "junk water" and in general she was talking to us in a derogatory manner. We weren't comfortable at all and definetely will not visit again.

Amazing experience . It’s so pretty inside , reasonable prices for really tasty food . I ordered the calamari to start which had a great portion size and calamari was not rubbery and lovely to eat . I had the steak for main which was perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth and the fries were also fresh and flavourful. I ordered the peppercorn sauce with it as an addition which I would recommend as it’s lovely with the steak . The staff are super friendly and courteous, it was mine and my partners anniversary and they made our night ! To summarise, five star food for a reasonable price . Would definitely recommend! Been here for breakfast with my girlfriend. We really enjoyed. We had English breakfast and it was really good, well presented and tasty. If I need to say something, I will give 3 stars just for the sausage which I didn't like much and for the baked beans which they come little bit dry. But for the rest everything perfect. And the coffee we had was amazing so tasty and so good!! 5 stars. We will be back definitely

Very nice restaurant. We had coffee and dessert at the terrace on easter Sunday. And the service was quick. The dessert were absolutely delicious and finger licking. The coffee was so nice too. I will come back with more people next time 😛

One of the better small chain restaurants with a menu that is always satisfying and high quality food/ingredients. Best of all this location is dog friendly (for small dogs certainly, not totally sure for larger ones) and they're allowed inside and outside. I went to Bill's for the first time and on my own a few Sundays ago. It was lovely! I had a table on my own and was served quickly. Love the full English breakfast with fresh orange juice and coffee ☕. Friendly service and next time I will sit outside. Great experience 👍

Really disappointed, I think they were understaffed which I can understand and the staff were lovely but our drinks took forever to arrive and the food was really underwhelming. Bills used to be a good bet for a decent meal but it was a let down. Coffee was also awful which was really disappointing.

Came for brunch, party of six including a child. Food was brilliant (whatever else you're planning on eating for breakfast you MUST try the bacon!!). If I had one to make a tiny criticism (this is a review after all) it is that their portions of butter are a bit small for the toast (I said it was a small criticism). I would also have liked to be able to get either a pot of coffee (or at the very least a large mug) as I like a lot of coffee with breakfast!

I went there for lunch and tried the burger. The burger was good. The gluten free ban fall apart a bit while eating bit still quite good. They have gluten free menu and the staff did pay attention to the dietary requirement. However, The steel bowl that they used for putting the salad was rusty. You also need to give lots of personal details to use their Wi-Fi, which is completely unnecessary.

I’ve been to a few Bill’s in other areas but this was my first time visiting the Muswell Hill branch. Very impressed! The staff were all lovely and were really welcoming to my friend and I, and my friends baby. The restaurant and toilets were spotlessly clean and there is a bottle of (great smelling) hand sanitiser on every table. The eggs benedict was delicious as were our starters and deserts. I will definitely be visiting again when I’m next in the area!

We visited here just before lockdown 2:0, as like most other people we wanted to squeeze in the experience of dining out for the last time for a while! The restaurant staff were running around with it being so busy, but I cannot compliment them enough for the excellent service we received from them. Every single person was helpful, polite & friendly. Even wishing us the best going through lockdown 2:0 when we were leaving. There are a lot of places who could learn great customer service from the waiting staff at Bill's. We had the set menu with a sharing platter. Everything was delicious, plus arrived hot & promptly to our table. The set menu was really great value too. Overall, thank you Bill's Muswell Hill for a lovely last evening service. I hope we can see you again very soon :)

Glad that Bills has finally reopened but it’s evident that there have been some reductions to their staff because of covid. The manager is a really understanding and compassionate lady whom apologised to multiple tables for not being able to maintain the standard of service she would have liked. It’s clear all staff are all trying their best but I think this was a really sincere gesture and shows how much care she has as a team lead!

The food was alright. It’s not the best breakfast I’ve had for the price but it was decent. The poached egg was a bit hard in the middle. The sourdough was a bit stale or maybe over-cooked. The beans were from a tin (would prefer homemade). The tap water was warm (would be better with ice and lemon). Having said that the waitress was friendly so I can’t really give less than 4 stars.

The ambience is pleasant as are the staff. The portions are small. I had the the carrot, cashew and butternut squash Wellington main,. It was more of a small vegetable pie cut in half sitting on a bed of butter bean mash, flavoursome enough but meagre. The dessert, apple crumble, tasty with good ice cream and custard. Again pleasant but more child size than adult. Great if your watching calorie intake but don't go wanting to leave with a satisfied stomach.

Had the calamari and the chicken skewers for starters, the chicken skewers were nice and hot and tasty, however the calamari was cold. The main course for me was a big let down , I had the steak and eggs and asked to cook medium, what I received was medium-rare, my partner had the eggs Benedict which she enjoyed but would have liked more hollandaise sauce, this is where the service falls short, no one came to ask us how the food was or whether we needed anything else. Both of us didn’t have cutlery at the beginning of the main course and had to get someone attention for the cutlery. The place is not bad , but if you are charging a service charge, please make sure you are on top of it .

Food is brilliant all times of the day. I've had breakfast, lunch, and dinner there (on different days of course!) and every time it's been great. I'd highly recommend their pancakes for breakfast, their buttermilk chicken burger for lunch and their oak smoked ribs for dinner, but, saying that, anything you order will taste good. The staff are wonderful, polite, kind, engaged, they check up on you but not too often. It has that feeling of comfort and homeliness which you often don't get in chains, it's particularly impressive as the building is so large, which is the only quibble I have, it can sometimes feel empty. All in all a brilliant place.

Great set menu choice I had an asian chicken salad and my mum the minute steak. Desserts were simple but good as well. I had the Eton Mess and my mum a chocolate brownie which came with a flake, chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. The only downside is the staff are a little slow at responding to requests or getting your order.

I ate at bills a few times and have always found the place very relaxing. I love to have my breakfast here. The atmosphere, the design and the friendly staff let you feel at home. Today I was very impressed by the service and food presentation, my breakfast looks delicious. Even if the restaurant seemed quite busy, my drinks and food arrived quickly. Today I had avocado on toast with poached egg which was delicious and a green smoothy made with fresh spinach.

We went for a celebration breakfast, but the menu was less inspiring than most other breakfast options we've had in other restaurants. The food is really quite overpriced and not really anything special. The porridge tasted like it was made from water and was stodgy and dry. The acai bowl was nice but the portion was tiny. The teapots are STILL far too big and only contain ONE teabag which just isn't enough in that much water. It would be nice to have kid size portions so we didn't have to waste food and money on a huge plate of food for a 6 year old, which he obviously couldn't finish. Kids menus don't have to be patronising, they can just offer a reasonable portion size of normal food. Not having a kids menu is wasteful, really. The service was friendly enough, and maybe even a bit too attentive and almost pushy, we didn't feel that relaxed. I don't think Bills will stay on our celebration breakfast venue list.

However the food was terrible, I asked specifically if my shepherds pie is frozen before cooked, waitress said no, that was not the case is it was cold inside hot on top with a acidic taste. Tucked away on the far side of the cinema, Bill's has a lovely outdoor space to have dinner. The menu is exactly what you expect from a casual bistro restuarant. The food was excellent and the portions just the right size. Our server couldn't do enough for us. Definitely coming back to this Bill's.

Very friendly and attentive staff. We had wild mushroom soup and calamari. Not a wild mushroom in sight, just blended regular (portabello) mushrooms, with chunks of more regular white mushrooms floating in it, will not be asking for the recipe. Calamari came dripping in oil from the deep fat fryer. The last two pieces at the bottom were swimming in their own little lake of oil, I couldn't face them, this may be the first time I have ever left seafood on my plate. I would have to give 10/10 for greasiness, for perspective I would give my local cheap fried chicken shop a 3/10

Fantastic place, great choice of vegetarian options, carrot Wellington to die for. There could be more vegan options, especially for breakfast (hint: you can get a vegan porridge, even if it's not in the menu), but otherwise this place is quite veg-friendly, and lovely otherwise. If you, like I, fell in love with their teapots, they're on sale in the special menu.

After ordering a steak and asking for it to be very hot, I again was served a tepid steak. Returned it and was given a hotter steak, but not really hot enough. I could not be bothered to return it again as my friend was on a tight time frame. This is the second time I've been served steak that was only warm. If it happens again, they'll have lost my custom for good.

This is my favourite Sunday breakfast spot. I'm so sad I haven't been able to visit in the last couple of months, but my last visit was certainly one I will always cherish. It was my birthday and my partner took me out for a birthday breakfast. The owner recognises and greets me every time I come in. On this occasion, I was about to leave the restaurant when the entire waiting staff walked out with a stack of birthday pancakes (a firm favourite) and a lit candle, singing happy birthday to me. A 'personalised dining experience' would be an understatement.. Will be back later this month guys! xx

Food is excellent quality. It pays to book during busy periods. Staff are very friendly towards adults and children. Admittedly, the service can suffer when the numbers build at busy times. Average, average, average. Can I give 2.5 stars? The restaurant is very busy because it's just opened and there is nowhere else like it to eat in Muswell Hill. We were informed about a 15 minute wait which was more like 30 minutes and unfortunately you can't even have a drink whilst waiting, others turned up and left. Service was slow at the table, we had to ask for everything. I've always avoided Bill's as a chain, we have one in Angel near my office, so this was my first experience and I won't say last because this Bill's has rare outside space for Muswell Hill so I will try brunch. Don't expect much from the food because it's just ok, nothing more, nothing less. There were a few menu options that sounded interesting, I could happily try again for a better food experience, but good value for money? It's everything I expect from a chain. Good food is hard to come by in Muswell Hill, venture round to Feast or drop down the hill to the Victoria Stakes and on to Crouch End and Esteban if you want good, honest independent food.

The first Bills in Brighton was somewhat of an institution but now they seem to be popping up everywhere and I feel that something has been lost in translation. Food isn't bad but is probably a little overpriced for what is essentially basic pub grub, and the service was somewhat inattentive. Not bad, just average.
