Reviews of Brood
Has the most amazing meal with a bunch of friends. Amazing food, great atmosphere and incredible service.
Marinated chicken wrap/ciabatta from this place is amazing, its always where I choose to eat when I'm in Borough Market. It's huge so go with an appetite!
Food was ok, though my husband suspects he got food poisoning from it. Service was good. Didn't like the sangria.
Great place for a quick bite or a nice pint
The most delicious Paella and Catalan Stew I have tasted, love popping over for lunch and very friendly staff! Thanks
Amazing food, and atmosphere. The staff were very attentive and helpful
Great food, great service and great Sangria. Well worth a visit when in Borough market. Fantastic restaurant and great street food outlet 😁
Absolutely brilliant eatery next to Southwark Cathedral. Food and ambience brilliant, at reasonable prices. Thoroughly recommend
Fabulous food. Friendly owners. Gluten free too. The location is awesome.
Delicious Spanish dishes and welcoming staff. Also try their Sangria, it is very good!
Lovely place to wine and dine in summer. Might not be so nice in winter because you are outdoor.
Great place to grab a late beer and food!
I asked the tall waiter for food recommendation He very politely and professionally explained the hot boxes and it was delicious 😋🌟
Delicious, good portions and reasonable prices, what's not too love.
Fantastic food, Excellent service. Had a great time. Must try!
Very nice burger. The chorizo on top was perfect!
Fab time at brood s FRIDAY night amazing service, highly Recommended, superb waiters.
We ate a German hotdog. Is was wow!
Great place with great service and surprisingly reasonable prices. Have a sangria, you won't regret it?
In a lovely place, very good food. Fast service, good beer, very good sangria.
Stopped at Brood today for the 1st time, the staff were friendly and the food was amazing will definitely be going back.
Nice paella and great setting wedged between the stairs from London bridge and the nearby church.
Lovely gem of a restaurant. Really nice atmosphere and absolutely lovely staff. Cute outside dining with outdoor heaters and pretty lighting. Paella and falafel are a must!
Okay place. Paella was below average; long grain rice was used instead...
Awesome food and friendly staff!
Liked it - food very tasty and filling. Sat outside, good location and atmosphere.
Great food. I loved the paella and sausage.
I had patella&chorizo in Brood’s cafe, very fair price, nice food
We enjoyed a pitstop here with a jug of pims and another of sangria a very happy team hughly recomend
Lovely food at a reasonable price for central London. From a northern boy. 😉
Lovely food, lovely staff and great location
Little Spanish experience on the very streets of London... mulled wine in the winters and sangria in the summers...perfect brunch out :)
Very good food and nice service. Convinient location!
Delicious, flavourful, quick, friendly, filling, fairly priced, and next to a gorgeous cathedral and bustling Borough Market... what more could you ask for?!
Great burger and nice paella in a great location
It had open, when the nearby market was already closed and there is not much else to eat nearby.
The food and drinks were okay
Very cosy place but once you are settled you are fine. Went upstairs. Food is good.
Excellent, the staff are so friendly and the food is fantastic!
Seafood: paella and Portuguese mix. Hummmm yummy
Delicious paella, burgers were very tasty too.
A wonderful spot to step off the busy get a quick bite and a drink then get on
Nice food and beer
Nice place, decent burgers and great atmosphere
The best food in London bridge loads of choices and reasonable prices :) 👍🏽
Fantastic place for a quick meal at Borough Market. The food selection is good and so is their drinks list considering they are a small hole on the wall kind of place (that's what it looks like on the outside). The atmosphere is energetic and the mixed seafood paella that I had was simple, rustic and flavourful. The service is fantastic and the server really made an effort to make more than polite conversation while I was being served. It is a great place to sit down and devour a quick and tasty meal while watching the hustle and bustle of the market. Definitely worth a visit!
Good atmosphere outdoors on a summer's evening. Tasty mezze.
Great food, cooked fresh
One of the best paella and sangria in town!
Amazing food, great service and team working there.
Great food and wine! Good atmosphere and lively.
Great food. Loved it, but noisy busy location.
Friendly staff and good service. Food and beers good as well.
Very good and tasty paella and meat on skewer.
Best chicken burger!🤩
If that guy who served me is reading this its george and it was very nice food
This place is great, food and service were awesome. Atmosphere was vibrant and great for people watching. Tasty food with really good sized portions. Lovely cocktails, definitely recommend Brood to everyone 👌
Came here for Sunday breakfast rolls and they were delicious
Good food and atmosphere.
A bit on the expensive side
Ok food, good for a quick drink and a bite
Best paella in London!! Lovely and friendly!!
Best sausage baps in London, especially with egg.
Amaizing place , really good food
Fantastic food stop off in Borough Market
GREAT SERVICE!!! Delicious food!!! Recommend
Delicious, quick and great atmosphere
Paella was 2*
Service was 5*
= 3*
Brood was awesome, we were walking around the neighbourhood looking for somewhere to eat and found a cool courtyard with tables and an outdoor kitchen. People were walking through, drinking, eating it was great. The food smelled so good we had to stop. We had a couple of drinks and ordered a meal and a couple appetizers, the holloumi sticks were some of the best I’ve ever had. You have a great view of the church next door which is 100’s of years old. would recommend for sure 100%.
Excellent Burger
Very nice food near London Bridge
Will visit again. Nice food.
Perfectly served meals
Tasty!
Lovely setting, good value.
Just couldn’t resist the paella while passing by ...
If you like street food you are in right place
Good food but overpriced.
Good place to be with good customer service
Visited borough market for the first time and discovered this gem of a place for lunch. I had the borough burger and a pint of goose IPA , the burger was possibly the best I have ever tasted every part of it was perfection , would highly recommend 11 out of 10 , I will definitely be visiting again. Staff were also very Friendly with a great service , top notch if I could give an extra 🌟 I would.
Nice place with a lot of people but a little salty
Excellent location and great prices
Great food for late night
Wonderful atmosphere and food
Good food good good price
Very good burgers
Fresh and tasty lamb salad
Good place for a nice evening with friends
Best Burgers in London
Great burgers!
I went to the shard today and wanted to eat in one of the tends around the Borough market, unfortunately, they were all close but the I’ve returned to the brood. I was here some weeks back and had the paella which was sensational. So decided to have it again. Great flavor! Amazing! It was a bit more expensive during dinner than lunch but it was still worth it. As per the waiter, it comes a bit more also, so I would easily share this with another person (not that I had done it today :)).
Awesome chorizo.
Fantastic food!
So and so!
Spperbie
Lovely place to hangout
Lovely.
Great paella!
Street food..da Street food.

Really amazing food and lovely attentive staff. Cute outside seating with fairy lights makes it an atmospheric place to have dinner, a drink or a few tapas

nice place
Got some lunch to go, and I chose the roasted chicken box meal. Delicious, lots of food, packed full of flavour. Will definitely stop by again if I'm in the area.
While walking around the market, I happened to see a shop under the bridge that was doing a lot of business. Everyone could sit outside with a drink and enjoy the sunshine; the meals were generous, the burgers were delicious, and the chicken was juicy! Enjoy~
The combination of the rich vegetables, meat, grilled cheese, and rice underneath was great, but even for me who doesn't find Japanese food salty, this dish was a bit salty. The taste is okay, but the meat and cheese are high in salt, so you get sick of it quicker than you think. If you want to eat rice but need something different than Korean food, visiting this place ‘with a drink’ might be a better option than you think.
10/10 would highly recommend this restaurant! Incredible food and amazing staff and customer service! Will definitely be coming back!
Had a really good freshly grilled burger & patatas bravas here, sadly can't say the same abut their sangria.
Lively & buzzing atmosphere. The service was fast in the beginning & even faster in the end... while we were still eating the waiter wanted to take our plates away... The first time I had a chance to tell him I was still eating, however a few minutes later he just snatched my plate while I still had an unfinished burger in my hand. Only one unisex toilet for such a busy restaurant, hence there is often a long queue for the loo.
Delicious tapas at this roadside stop. Loud and bustling, but very tasty and great beer. Outdoor seating close to the cooking area gives great ambience.
Went to this place around the time the kitchen closed was moderately busy.. Our server (David) was fast amazing and a charisma that every waiter should have.. even after being a difficult customer (by ordering food as kitchen shut) David continued to strive for the most impeccable service I have ever had..
This even went as far as the food as it was not to expensive well prepared and instantly caught your eye!!
Well done to all the team will see you again very very soon
DELICIOUS food, attentive staff and great atmosphere. Highly recommend! Thanks for a lovely evening.
Walked all the way round Borough market and had to come back here which is the first place we saw. Absolutely amazing food! I had the chorizo and halloumi wrap which was brilliant :D
Brood at Borough Market is where street food meets the quality restaurant. It offers the best veggie burger I've tasted anywhere. Although it's not restricted to vegan/vegetarian food their halumi fajita is world class. You can also expect to find a great range of hot and cold drinks and excellent service. Divine food at the back of Southwark Cathedral, we will return.
Me and my friends were super happy that the brood team managed to turn our first encounter (which was not super succesful) into a super positive one. I would truly recommend this lovely restaurant to everyone visiting london! Great food, great music and lovely atmosphere next to the london bridge! Thanks to Mark, his wife and team Brood for giving us the chance to really enjoy this dining experience like we should!
Great place. Mainly outdoor seating under cover, alongside Southwark Cathedral. Busy spot and very convivial. Paella excellent
Wow. Great sport with Spanish food that tasted great just by the Railway Station. Will be back for a proper visit next time.
Highly recommended. Paella was really nice and not that salty like original Spanish one. Box was definitely the best choice. Marinated lamb was really delicious. We visited here twice to eat those delicious food again.
A bit slow in servering. But done with love and the food is worth the wait. Pretty outside place. Clean tables around the clock.
Nice location, near the borough market very close to London bridge. Lines can be a bit long and sitting tables hard to find, but overall a nice experience.
Great atmosphere as you sit at the entrance of Borough Market. The jugs of Pimms are unavoidable just like the slight (but worth-it) hangover the following morning.
It has to be the best Spanish blend of tapas we’ve had - that chorizo is incredible (and confirmed by the Spanish fiancée).
Can not wait for the next visit - which should be Friday!
Brilliant atmosphere and such lovely staff- the waiters (both the lady with the dark curly hair tied back and the man with the dark hair and glasses) were so helpful and gave us great recommendations, after the restaurant closed and we were leaving the security guard noticed that some guys on the street outside the restaurant were making us uncomfortable and he went out of his way to ask them to leave and make sure we were safe which we really really appreciated. Also, thank you for making my friend's birthday so special with the special Happy Birthday Falafel, we had never seen that before! 😂 Paella and halloumi bites were excellent!
Such a good food, wow. 💛
The borough burger and paella WAS THE BEST THING I HAVE HAD YET THIS PLACE SHOULD BE A 5.5 well done!!!
You are right that review wasn't made by me. Me and my friends had a great time and fantastic food at Brood. Many thanks to the girl from Portugal who was serving our table. Next time in London we will definitely visit you again. Stay safe
Great paella and sangria right by the Railway Station. Yum.
I have been eating here on a Sunday morning for years so I thought it only right and proper that I submitted a review. The food here is consistently good. The menu is varied and the ingredients are of a high standard. I also eat here because the service is ALWAYS friendly and courteous. I recommend Cafe Brood without reservation. It’s great!
DELICIOUS AND GREAT AND FRIENDLY STAFF
I am a regular visitor to Brood and I must say the food is absolutely EXQUISITE.
The staff are incredibly friendly and personable and it is an exceptionally well run establishment. As Mediterranean and Spanish cuisine goes, it's on a level that you would find abroad, and I would highly recommend the Paella-it's incredible.
Here's to many more fantastic memories being made in this amazing restaurant.
Big portions with a lot of meat. Good value for money, and tastes good too.
Very delicious food, good range of variety. This is the first street food stall as you enter borough Market. We went round to other stands as well none of them stood out as well as brood. Nice fresh ingredients and good variety of food and nice warm drinks like muled wine and hot toddy.
Highly recommended
After a long walk around London, we ended up here for dinner. Fantastic atmosphere and the food was fantastic.
We love it!!! Nice food, good customer, welcoming staff.Definitely recommended!!
Great place for a light snack or a full meal. Food is amazingly fresh and full of flavour. Service is top notch and the music suits the setting well.
Will definitely come again!
Highly recommend this cafe, staff members are polite, friendly and really engaging, the atmosphere was nice and friendly. You can eat inside or outside. We had lunch outside, ordered a lamb box, a double decker burger and a paella. The food was a bit spicy, but delicious. You can definitely ask them not to spice it up too much. The burger was huge, I could barely finish it all by myself. Paid a total of £32, but it's totally worth it.
We wanted to get some beers, but because the cafe is right next to a church, they told us we can only drink alcohol inside, which I truly respect. We ended up getting some cokes instead of alcohol, because we wanted to eat outside.
I would definitely go back again for some good food!
Past many times but was never sure. I took the plunge and had a nice, quick and reasonably priced meal. Staff were friendly and the paella was tasty. Not anything flash but when the weather is good it's a good quick eat.
Brood has an awesome atmosphere, fantastic smells, and even better tastes! I ordered their dish for two (can't remember the name) and it was honestly the best dish I had in London during my stay! I had dinner at night and enjoyed the lovely architecture of the cathedral nearby.
The staff is nice and fun. The vegetarian burger and the fries are delicious!
Very generous portions of paella, with plenty of rice but also meat and seafood. The chorizo was very good, spicy but not too hot. The jug of sangria was also very good, with plenty of fruits. The only thing that could be better would be an extra toilet as there was just one with long queues, but considering the space available that's probably not possible.
Nice warm meal next to a cathedral. Recommend the paella 🥘
I'm coming here quite often and the food is always great and tasty, staff is friendly and polite, and the area adds a great vibe. On my last visit I was served in a take away plate even though I wanted to stay and have a drink with my meal, still 5 star because the food was great.
Hello Team Brood.
In response to your request for more information: according to my records, I visited at lunch time with a colleague on 12th December 2019 paying by credit card. I purchased a lamb kebab based wrap for £8.50. The dish was unpleasantly cold; however, the staff were pleasant. Hence, the score.
FYI - I tend to post my reviews in batch, time permitting.
Nice and close to London Bridge Station for a quick pint. Corona on tap was nice
Cannot fault the place at all. Owner is friendly and generous, food is very high quality, filling and at a good price. Have been eating here for over 10 years and hope to continue for another 10.
Amazing experience..very tasty food & impressive customer service … keep it up .. love it .. highly recommend
The Catalan stew and sangria are a good Spanish combination to go with. The waiter looked a little bit unhappy when I asked for some time deciding my drink. Anyway my first try of Sangria was great and the staffs (except the waiter) are 5-star friendly.
I've tried several dished from here and always impressed by the taste. I've had the chicken in a wrap, which I really enjoyed, and the rice dish which is also really nice, although messy to disassemble the 1 large prawn you get, could get at least 2 for the price! which I'd say it's good.
Last time I went I had the new salad box with lamb cubes which also contained chorizo, halloumi and couscous. It looked great and tasted better. All in all an enjoyable friendly lunchtime haunt.
Lovely little place, plenty of tables and chairs for outdoor seating. They play some really good house music. Has an Ibiza vibe to it in the summer.
Excellent atmosphere, great selection of food, quick prep and fresh! Nice for lunch or informal dinner over a class of wine. I have had the falafel (excellent) chorizo salad and paella (both very good).
A hidden gem just around the corner from the market. The burger was very good but don't ask for extra haloumi on it the shock of the waitress was a sight to see. Definitely don't need a side of chips per person. Definitely enough to share with a group
Amazing place to eat inside the Borough Market. Many options, meat, fish and veg as well. I recommend the squid box with rice, fish, chorizo and sauces. All the ingredients are delicious, best with a glass of sangria! It's one of the few places here that offers tables and seats. Can't wait to eat here again!
Nice quick food and staff very pleasant - would visit again.
I had the chicken in a wrap for lunch and it was pretty average. It came with plenty of veg however the salsa didn't really add anything and there was possibly too little chicken. It was lost slightly in amongst everything else. Price wise it's not too bad and someone who has slightly more time to enjoy their food there may enjoy it more.
They have a few stews & a paella on offer but they have all been sitting for quite a while so it doesn't really appeal to me. I did see the salad boxes there which also contain chorizo, halloumi and couscous and they did look good. That's what I would go for if I ever visited again
We had a really wonderful time sitting outside even though it was winter! We had mulled cider and the mese for two with so much meat and halloumi. The service was so quick and friendly, the food tasted great and the surrounds made for a really wonderful evening. I would definitely go again!!
Brood is good; generally all their food is really tasty, but in particular I have eaten here 30-40 times and they have the only legit and tasty paella in the whole of Borough market. 👍👍
Great Street food,enjoy!
Loved the paella, box number 5 & sangria!! 😋
Came today had enjoyed the delicious classic burger.
Mouth watering, delicious well prepared and well presented burger. Thank you guys. Keep up the good work.
delicious fresh food, helpful and friendly staff and a great atmosphere for grabbing a bite to eat in the heart of London. A can't miss place when visiting Borough Market
Great breakfast place and great food! Lovely spot beside the bridge, you can smell the heavenly smell of pan-fried sausages from far away. Staffs are all nice and friendly, too.
Really tasty food and lovely staff!!!!!
This is definitely a little corner of heaven for me. "Oh hello(I think to myself)well it is getting a bit nippy; I think I’ll have a 'Mulled Wine' and Paella" I did, and…It was absolutely fabulous..!! Everyone is smiling and laughing, staff are fantastic, it’s just brilliant; the pleasure was all mine - Nearly forgot HaHa: Food was outstanding - As was the mulled wine(well all three of them as it happens😉).
Definitely going to be back - Three evenings booked up already over Christmas…
Highly recommend
Great place for food and drinks
Just had the best night at Brood, fantastic waitress, brilliant dj, great food, drinks reasonably priced. Literally danced in the street. Stayed there all night and will definitely come back. Thanks for a great night x
Wow lovely food, tasty and a generous portion with sustainable packaging. Very happy to support this small business at this difficult time <3
Great tasty lunch .. quick, friendly and attentive service (esp Roberto).
Heartily recommend the Paella & Falafel. Good portions and fresh.
I can only imagine ownership has changed since it's poor reviews on here 3 years ago because I had a great experience! Food was delicious, service was fast and friendly, the location is great and the portions were huge! I'll certainly be going back
Its was fabulous. From the Pimm's to the sanwhiches. I am so pleased. Thanks for being open during this covid insanity.
If you are looking for authentic Spanish food Cafe Brood might not blow you away. They've got some old favourites like Paella, Padrón Peppers and Anchovies which taste ok, but will not mislead you to thinking you're back in Spain having the real thing...
Having said that, it's still a worthwhile stop during your trip to the Borough Market as you're more likely to get a seat here and will fill yourself up without breaking the bank.
Amazing food and fun place! Happy staff, specially Ramil. Came from Brazil to eat their Paella and Chorizo. I recommend.
Good place to watch life go by. Good drinks and food for a chillrd out afternoon
The food was okay. Not the best. Wish can go somewhere else. Rice a bit grainy. Paella a bit too oily. Burger is tasty.
I visited this reataurant 10 years ago and now.Ever since my first visit I was waiting for the next time I could visit it because they served the best ever Paella.Great location, nice atmosphere.I very much recommend it!
Nice outdoor area, staff have good table service; only ordered a drink however.
Visited here on Friday night with work colleagues and customers, 15 in total. We all had a fantastic evening, excellent food all topped off with brilliant service
BEST PATATA BRAVAS EVER!!!
Today's my birthday and while I'm waiting for my partners to arrive and get the train to Wales for my birthday week-end,
I've decide to treat myself with a bottle of light white wine from Spain and a portion of Yummy Patata Bravas in Brood.
The staff super nice and everything was just perfect!
Thanks for let me enjoying even more this little time for myself on my birthday!!!!
Sal
Absolutely amazing food. Fresh fish tapas. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend 👍🏻😊
Absolutely delicious food and sangria, generous portions. Definite value for money. A lovely place to eat out in the open.
A very mixed bag of reviews here, but in the evening of the weekday when I visited, this was the only thing open. Good sangria. Nice atmosphere. Had the mixed rice and curry. I liked it
Great dishes, a little uncomfortable, but a great way to eat in London! Best dish is the Paella with Chorizo! Delicious!
Went on a Sunday and it was delicious. Great open air cooking and beautiful food. Nice to have a cold beer while queuing for food as well!
Casual spot perfect for a quick stopover (especially when you're in the area when the markets closed and you want a taste of street food) nice food and good service. Falafel wrap I had was delicious, my bf who had the chorizo with paella also enjoyed it.
Super yummy vegy burger. Staff really friendly and welcoming. Very enjoyable experience. I will definitely be back :-)
Excellent little gem tucked away near Southwark Cathedral and Borough Market
Would recommend as a little pit stop
(Nearest tube - London Bridge - Northern Line)
Spanish/middle Eastern fusion Street food,
Great for a carefree bite if you don't want to spend a bit more for something better.
nota tourist trap, but it is what it is.
Great paella with chorizo and wraps. Very chaotic on a Saturday but we managed to get a seat and enjoy our meal.
The Classic Burgers are hella tasty.
Good food for a good price. Went with paella, which was really good. Definitely recommend.
Great paella, burgers. Quite good value to be honest. Music could be turned down a touch though
Lovely staff great paella and sangria
Great spot in (near) the Borough Market. The chorizo and haloumi wrap was delicious. And a jug of Pimms cup!
Delicious breakfast bap, good portion, great price........good chance we will pop back for lunch or dinner, the Catalan Stew sounds delicious
Absolutely amazing food..the chorizos, stew and to beat it all sangrias and pimms. Best Sangria I ever had.
Really nice food, well combined with rice and salad. I always head for the chicken and chorizo dish. Suoerb
Very friendly service and the food is sensational. I had the paella which is one of the best I’ve had. Staff created a relaxed atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend and will be visiting again soon
