Reviews of Browns Victoria
P. T.
Had our last meal here before departing London and it was great. We had yummy Sunday roast, the place was busy but it is huge so no lack of available seats. Hope we can return for another meal in the future.

Nice space in Victoria. Tucked away and you could miss it. Food was nice but the red velvet chocolate bomb was a bit of a let down. The chocolate was too think and the hot sauce didn’t melt it. Inside of it, there wasn’t much red velvet. Everything else was good. Service was good and covid friendly.
H. T.
Great experiences here, be it having after-work drinks, dining with SO or just having a quiet pint in the corner. Food tastes good too!

I had come to Victoria to visit the Corona Test Centre for my "Fit to Fly" certificate prior to returning to the USA. After my test, I looked around for a nearby restaurant to break my morning fast. Fortunately, Browns caught my eye, because the meal I savored there was positively delicious!
Browns exudes class while at the same time doesn't make you feel out of place if you aren't dressed business-style. The dishes arrived steaming hot and arranged with artistic elegance. My English Breakfast tea, for example, came poured in a tall, narrow glass with white and brown sugar cubes arranged neatly on a small plate and milk provided to taste.
My smoked salmon omelet arrived steaming-hot in a small skillet, perfectly gooey in the center and fresh off the stove, with tomato garnish providing a pleasant, culinary flourish on the side. My traveling companion thoroughly enjoyed her vegetarian breakfast as well.
Our waiter, Erald, made our entire experience friendly, timely, and relaxed. He not only answered our questions and made personable small talk with us, but also ensured that each dish arrived at the perfect time. He provided us with a beautiful window seat on the first floor, which had an excellent view of the streets beyond--perfect for idle people-watching.
I highly recommend Browns for a fresh, creative, and delicious breakfast. Next time I visit London, I hope to try their other menu items for lunch and dinner.

Good food with a good vibe. A little pricey especially for the vegetarian meals and also a very very limited vegetarian offering. Service was attentive. Some pasta dishes on the menu would be good. The ravioli many years ago was lovely. I had the baked Camembert. Would have been better with bread than crostini or perhaps half and half.
M. H.
Great food & lovely staff.
We would recommend the fish pie & truffle chips. We were too full (unfortunately) to manage a desert. Would also recommend the espresso martinis

Easy to seat en enjoy the drink and the food. Fast response from the waiters even though a bit crowded as being lunch time. My friends and I were looking for somewhere close to eat and despite the short time we had we mentioned that to the Manager and he didnt failed to deliver. Fast service not compromising the timing. Thank you for that and we will definitely come back with more time to enjoy the cocktails and drinks. Thank you Adam, we will see you back soon....

We only stopped in for drinks, but decided to cancel our other dinner booking to stay at Browns. The food was delicious, I had salmon and a side order of calamari. It was a special night and the champagne was amazing!
M. A.
We had a lovely pre-theatre meal here, the staff were very accomodating for a last minute Saturday evening table and the food was excellent.
G. G.
I've eaten here pre-pandemic and found the food good. Unfortunately I was underwhelmed on this occasion. I asked for a medium Rib Eye steak and got a very well done chewy steak. The chips were dry, but the scallops were good.
S.
This restaurant has a nice lively feel to it. I would say it is a modern European style of restaurant with a varied menu.
The service was ideally paced, not too quick, not too slow and happy to follow what we needed.
The food was good and I had the roasted salmon followed by a chocolate brownie. Added to this was a fruit juice and all in the bill came to £31 including service.
I would go back again.
B. B.
Great food, drinks and helpful staff. Dimitrios and Greg were courteous and gave us a lovely experience.

We enjoyed our experience today with my friends. The food was lovely and very tasty. The service was excellent and there to help with everything. The salmon was nicely cooked and the cheese with the warm bread as well... the best part was the dessert. I highly recommend the salted caramel profiteroles and the dark chocolate bombe. I'll go back again for sure
L. D.
Very buzzy, lots of people at lunch yesterday. Enjoyed wonderful Steak & Guinness Pie, no room for pudding! Waiters helpful and very charming. This is my go-to place for lunch out near Victoria.
M. G.
Quick service and friendly staff. Its a brasserie £££. I really liked the salad
D. O.
Came here for Sunday lunch with my parents and husband. Service was fast and staff were lovely. Portions were massive (had to take a lot of it home lol) and my meal was delicious. Would definitely come back.

Dear Browns,
Thanks for the response but you haven't said how to contact you?
Regards
Charl
I like Brown's the decor is modern but when I visited they appear under staffed which I understand happens but the lady who greeted I felt the lady picked and choose who she was attending too even though there was a queue she didn't follow the order, I felt it's almost if your 'face fits'. We eventually got a seat in the bar, waited a further 30 mins for a table and then another 15 minutes before a waiter came for our order and food came out almost 35mins later. The food was okay considering there are so many places to eat around that area it was higher priced than other places. So I would say value for money was poor, staff need to a bit more engaging and friendly I understand if you are under pressure but for a customer wait over an hour that's pretty poor.
I will not visit again even though I thought the food was okay , I don't like to feel unwelcome and definitely their customer service skills needs updating.
J. G.
Excellent meal, lamb was cooked perfectly, and friendly service, would highly recommend

I am planning to visit Munich soon with my family and I am incredibly thrilled and elated by the news that it has re-opened recently. During my university years in Munich, I visited the cafe frequently and frankly was never disappointed. I have immensely fond memories of sitting down and enjoying high quality food and drink, especially their wide selection of desserts. The food and drink was always delivered to the highest of standards and was always worth the visit - my favourite dessert of theirs has to be the cheesecake!
The bar itself is elegant and has a relaxing atmosphere but more importantly, it has some of the friendliest staff, in particular the wonderful Rosa. She was always well-mannered and attentive and ensured that customers were satisfied, no matter how busy she was. I distinctly remember the lively energy she brings to her work and to the cafe and I cannot wait for my family to finally visit the cafe and meet her!
Quite frankly I would give Rosa, as well as the general service and quality of its food ten stars if it were possible!
L. C.
We had a family meal here and food was tasty and well presented. The staff were very friendly especially to my grandchildren. We weren't rushed at all
Z. H.
It was very busy so slight wait but not much, considering! Staff all v friendly and helpful! I am coeliac and they have a good gf menu, our waitress Monika even remembered to bring the gf dessert menu for me without me having to remind/ask her! Really enjoyed our visit! Will be back!
B. P.
Decent. Got a table pre theatre when all other local restaurants were fully booked. Really tasty food. Service was great and the restaurant is well fitted out. 5 of us including 2 children and all enjoyed our meal and the price was reasonable for the quality and location. Would definitely return.
K. D.
Lovely Browns modern restaurant really close to the station. Service was great and the menu covers most requirements. I had the schnitzel which was lovely but the accompanying salad could have been more imaginative.
L. T.
Myself and my three friends had a beautiful brunch here this morning, although my order was messed up, it was rectified very quickly and the service was fantastic, we are from Bristol but we shall definitely call again the next time we are in London.
J. C.
Great to see Browns in Victoria open again. It's close to Victoria station and has a wide selection of beer, wine, spirits, cocktails and food. Staff are nice and friendly
W. H. (. D. C.
I stopped here with a friend yesterday for a quick cuppa whilst waiting to collect my teenager from the theatre. We sat outside although the area is covered in Cardinal place. It’s not table service outside. The reason I have given this place 5 stars is because I left a shopping bag there containing a fairly valuable purchase. I didn’t realise until a good 30 minutes after leaving that I’d left my bag by the table. I returned and to my surprise, a member of staff had spotted the bag and put it away safely in case i returned. That very honest act alone is worthy of 5 stars. Faith instantly restored in human kindness particularly in our capital city know for its less than personal service! Thank you so much. It says an awful lot about the type of people employed to work here. 5 stars indeed!
M. W.
Absolutely lovely food and drink ....Barossa Valley Estate Shiraz. Lovely atmosphere ! Luckily we found a great waiter called Adam who made recommendations and we were so glad we went with them. Well done Adam - thank you. x
G. H.
Looking for a bite to eat before going to the Theater and was pleasantly surprised. Nikos or server did a superb job and gave us some great ideas for dinner. Food was grand. Atmosphere on the upper level was very comfortable. Will return again. Thanks Nikos.
J. M.
We made a reservation here before going to see Hamilton. They have a nice pre-theatre menu! The staff were friendly but they didn’t always seem to know their stuff when it came to the food.. Food was delicious- I had the fried squid for starters then the burger for main. Both were gorgeous. Overall a nice modern place to come and grab a bite to eat before seeing a show in the Victoria Palace Theatre!
T. E.
Good restaurant, good cook, nice wine. The waiter, our friendly Robert, has to get the food up a large staircase and this takes so much time that it slows down logistics. We got a £10 discount because the salmon was out of stock.
Gerard and Theo from The Netherlands.
C. J. G.
Cool vibe bar with upstairs restaurant very close to Victoria station. Good food and wide selection of drinks and cocktails.
L. B.
Walking with my friend we decided to have dinner, we are looking for Sunday roast but was all gone. We took the option from the menu.
The started was good the main course was ok nothing fantastic
The service was nice and polite.
Prices ok
The restaurant is big and spacious have a good location short walking distance to Buckingham Palace , St James park, theatres and Victoria station.
The toilets were clean .
L.
Lovely venue, the food was served promptly and was very tasty. The service was impeccable, especially from Nikos who ensured our wine glasses were always topped up! Will definitely be visiting again soon.
C. B.
We had a fantastic lunch here today. The food was delicious and staff very friendly and hard working. Definitely worth paying the bit extra to go to this nice restaurant, rather then the others around it.
P. J.
Excellent meal and extremely friendly helpful staff. Very busy restaurant although everything seems extremely well under control. Wouldn't hesitate to use again.
B. W.
Really nice place for lunch but sadly found the mojito a bit flavourless.
Brown's in Brighton, memorable drinks hence booking in Victoria before a show.
Ahh well, food and service was great.
J. L.
My friend & I searched high & low for an open restaurant in Victoria nearing 10 pm on Friday 29th Oct which could still serve us and which offered gluten & dairy free food. Browns was only one open but glad was the case. The waiter Nikos was brilliant and went out of his way to ensure everything was gluten and dairy free & food didn't disappoint, I had salmon with lentils/vegetables/ roast potatoes and my friend a wonderful risotto with fresh medley of vegetables including brocoli, zucchini, peas asparagus. We indulged in desert because often not available for our dietary needs. Had lovely apple crumble with vegan ice cream. Would definitely be returning to eat here again.
B. K.
Great food and customer service. Bit on pricey side and today was quite busy but overall good. I'd recommend the honey glazed beef ribs.
S.
Great place to meet with friends good selection from pre theatre menu and food quite tasty. Mocktail/Cocktails/Wine etc....near underground station so convenient for central.
Xmas 2019 work do set menu not great prawn cocktail eeewww salmon too salty beef no taste cheesecake tooooo sweet
P. b.
Nice service, good menu choice, wines are very overpriced, but fantastic location
S.
Friendly superb staff - chill place to have a couple of drinks on a date or when you want to be away from all the hustle bustle within the city.
A. O.
Nice place to meet friends n family before heading to Gatwick or Heathrow, from Victoria station. Comfortable. Decent.
P. S.
Been to a lot of Browns outlets, the food is always good, but this is not my favourite venue, Covent garden ticks the box for me.
K. E.
Dare I say I'm a regular? Friendly staff with a classic bar vibe. Restaurant upstairs is well serviced. Recently added outdoor seating is a bonus. Good aperols! Loss of a star for a smell which occasionally creeps into a very specific small section of the bar area.
M. P.
An excellent location for a family reunion
Our group of six was meeting for a family reunion in London with people travelling from Wales, Hastings, Aylesbury and Suffolk. We needed a place to eat where we could sit comfortably, talk at leisure without the distraction of canned music and obtain a meal at a reasonable price. As my wife and her sister meet on a regular basis at Browns they suggested that we should meet there.
We received a friendly welcome from Gabrielle who knew my wife and her sister from a previous visit and we were seated at a table inj a quiet area where we could relax and talk comfortably.
The food was well presented and we were able to eat at leisure as the who meal lasted more than three hours and at no time were we given the impression that it was time for us to leave.
We enjoyed our experience and agreed to meet there again next year.
T. P.
The food, drinks, and service were all top-notch. Nine of us just wandered in, and were promptly seated. While looking over the menu, we realized we could catch Wicked if we could eat and leave within 90 minutes. Our server, Gabrielle, assured us we could do so easily. She was right!
All our drinks came out on time and were well-crafted. The food for the kids came out first, as we had requested, and everybody was pleased with their meal.
All told, an excellent spontaneous late lunch choice. Enthusiastically recommend!
L. O.
Went with the friends after a night it at s wedding show...this restaurant is lively and perfect for a romantic meal. The food was good but I had better... the photos will state otherwise because the food looks so good.
J. C.
Table for 8 booked but used for another party. Delay while another set up. Service polite but slow. Food excellent.
C. T.
I had never been to Browns before. When I walked it, I thought it was similar to Wetherspoons. That thought quickly changed when we got greeted by one of the waiters and escorted to our table. The menu looked great and we were spoilt for choice. I'm on a diet and cutting out carbs, so opted for half chicken with salad (in replacement of the chips it normally comes with). I found the chicken succulent but had a very basic flavour. I'm the kind of guy that needs seasoning on their food. My friend got fish and chips. The fish was huge, and she said it was delicious. The staff were very nice, and the atmosphere was warm and comfortable. It was quite busy at 2pm, so had to talk louder, but not too loud. Overall, we had nice experience here.
t. f.
Always good quality food. Staff are efficient without being overly intrusive. Very comfortable atmosphere.
I. H.
A very nice evening, cocktails and good and a wide menu. Staff are friendly, attentive and professional.
D. J.
We had the steak and club sandwich and the beet & orange salad to share. All of which tasted alright but can do with a bit more dressing cuz they were quite dry. Service is excellent
C. F.
Disappointing prawn and crab linguine. Couldn’t detect much crab and so it was just 5 prawns smothered in pesto. Won’t be going back there to eat in a hurry
D. H.
Service was poor, I ordered another drink ,& didn't receive it.
Food was excellent & the drink too.
J. O.
Great location and great ambiance. Thanks for reopening and keeping us safe and positive. Great food, friendly staff and great customer services.
J. C.
Great bar good service decent prices nice atmosphere, and if you get hungry upstairs is a restaurant with a bar , the food ( Stake was amazing well cooked well priced ) a must visit when in Victoria area
S. B.
I visited Browns with my friend for afternoon tea on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was relatively quiet and we were served almost immediately. The afternoon tea consisted of 4 types of sandwiches (much smaller than they appear!), scones with Jan and cream and a selection of cakes. Overall, it was very nice but not sure it was fully worth the price! However, it was a good place to spend an afternoon catching up with friends.
I. A.
Near Victoria station, good two floor space
The ground floor is a bar , the first floor is s restaurant, I tried thier a type of marinated beef meet, it taste from heaven , cooked very well it can melt in your mouth and for dessert I took pudding which also tasted delicious
K. M.
Excellent food, great venue and perfect before seeing Hamilton at the Victoria Palace theatre
S. K.
Amazing sticky toffee pudding with hot toffee sauce....with crystallised ginger...flat white coffee was great too! Service was slow despite being a quiet Sunday afternoon.
M. M.
Verynice afternoon tea, extremely friendly and caring staff
V. H.
Our first visit to Browns and it definitely won’t be our last. The service was excellent and the food was superb.
N. B.
Greeting and catering for a `just turned up no booking` very good. Food OK. Service poor.
k. e.
This bar is ok. The inside feels cold and a bit dreary. The bar staff are friendly enough and make decent cocktails. Food is alright. Think they need to sort the girls toilets out tho, 3 sinks out of order when I visited! Toilets were also a bit dirty too.
A. G.
Browns restaurant and bar is in Victoria next to Victoria Station. Came to this after seeing wicked. Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Had the ice cream. You get 3 small scoops. The ginger ice cream is really nice. There's not a lot of vegetarian options however. Wish there was more I can eat. A good place to chill downstairs at bar or eat upstairs.
K. N.
Great food, decent atmosphere but service was pretty slow on a Sunday.
T. S.
Nice setting and not to bad decor. Onion rings were cold and the Gnocchi was a bit greasy. Staff are friendly and helpful.
F. D.
Husband had a very tasty fish pie I had chicken caeser, really lovely waitress but the restaurant was freezing cold so we rushed our meal, expensive.
B. C.
Weren't able to eat due to them running out of vegeterian option but staff were really accommodating and helpful to help solve the issue. Really good attitude and nice staff.
T. T.
Great service great food what else do you need? Perfect
A. M.
Mediocre, overpriced food. Service was ok but it's a large restaurant with not enough staff.
B. W.
The vegan Christmas option was tasty here and the profiteroles were delicious. This restaurant has great ambience.
D. P.
Very nice place. Early dinner good service.
R. T.
Lovely food. Great staff. Great cocktails
A. L.
Had afternoon tea here, was ok..got 4 mini brioche sandwiches, plain and raisin scones and couple of cakes..quite disappointed with scones - very chewy. Like they had been made somewhere else and heated up, also not proper clotted cream. Cakes were nothing special, also waited about 15mins between getting our drinks and getting food so tea had gone cold by the time cakes came! Took ages to get the bill also, this seems to be a problem with lots of restaurants recently and is very annoying!
E. G. C.
Wonderful food. The service was a little slower than I would have anticipated but it was 17:00 so right at the beginning of dinner service.
B. M.
Food was okay. Burger was quite messy. Service was good. Nice atmosphere. Tea is a must. Loose leaf served the old fashioned way.
J. Z.
always love Browns steak. The waiter Balazs' recommendation is quite good.
N. B.
Just had a drink at lunchtime. Good service and pleasant sfaff
M. P.
Absolutely delicious food and cocktails. Would highly recommend!

Great.
Clean to the highest standard.
Lovely size for social distancing. The tables are so well.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Fantastic food and service. Cooked to perfection.
No complaints.
Well done

Quality of food not great on this occasion however the staff were very attentive, friendly and professional.
F. S.
Very nice for cocktails and dining, close to the mainline too.
C. L.
We had a good breakfast and the staff understood our need to eat quickly
P. B.
Great atmosphere and menu. Good was superb and service efficient and friendly
C. I.
Great venue and friendly staff. Although we arrived early we were made welcome and shown to our table upstairs ahead of time which was just as well as it got very busy on Saturday lunchtime prior to matinee performance at local theatres.
Our party had different needs including pregnancy, diabetes, gluten free and dairy free. The staff were very attentive and obliging so I would recommend this restaurant.
C.
Nice big airy restaurant in Central Victoria. Not too expensive and nice food.
p. d.
Busy but good vibe. Best fish pie ever
d. H.
First time in London in over 20 years lovely lunch with my son service excellent so was the food
K. M.
Good coffee but took ages coming over every time we asked for something
L. 1.
Hard to find places to eat; good theatres though.
A. D. S. J. B.
Excellent and worthy of 5 stars. CoVid-19 compliant and professional with it. Tasty brunch of salmon and scrambled eggs on sourdough toast with a mango mimosa to celebrate the last of a FABULOUS birthday week. Kudos to the staff - all of you 💞
G. M.
Called in on a Saturday evening for a meal before the theatre. We managed to get a table for two quickly, I think we were fortunate as not long after our arrival the queue started to grow. Our waitress was clearly exceedingly busy - it was a Saturday evening after all - so we waited a bit longer than I'd have liked but not so long as to detract from our experience. The food itself was delicious, and arrived quickly. We've been to Browns in many cities before, and I'm pleased to say our visit to Victoria met our expectations. Good.
L. H.
My first visit to Brown's was very pleasant. Attentive staff, limited vegetarian options would be the only negative for me. Had to opt for a couple of sides instead of the 2 Vege options which was a curry and a green salad. Enjoyed my Eton Mess nonetheless!
S. B.
£8 a pint but nice place.
K. P.
I'm not usually a chain restaurant habitué. OK this wasn't even going to be our first choice for lunch but despite a hiccup or two the food was decent enough. My partner had a burger and my choice was fish pie and they were both average. I'm not going to try to work out why my food was super hot, temperature wise, and somehow the kitchen failed to act on the order to remove the bacon from my partners burger. At least when the bill came there was a sizeable deduction for the error and inconvenience so maybe I'll go back and see if, in normal times, they can do better.
J. T.
Had lunch here last week and it was very good. I am vegan and had a very good meal and also a dessert. The service was also good and Gabriella who served us was extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her. She was very smiley and made our visit very enjoyable.
X. A.
Went there with a couple of friends before our train to Gatwick and all I can say is that the staff were great with us. Very friendly and we had a good chat with 2 of the bartenders. Prices for beer were reasonable considering that we were in Victoria and the whole place had a good atmosphere considering that it looked a bit busy.
Will be returning for sure.
Thank you Browns.
f. j.
Took my mum there for pre theatre meal. Arrived early and luckily staff were able to seat us straight away. Friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Very quick service. Lovely choice on the menu. The food itself was amazing. If I'm ever in london again it will be my first choice.
D.
Browns Victoria provided a superb service catering for our large family party of 15. Communication beforehand was always prompt and efficient. We had lots of last minute changes to orders and numbers which Browns coped with seamlessly. The food was delicious and Florida (?) our waitress was always polite, cheerful and extremely helpful. Highly recommended.
P.
Staff were very hospitable. We were 4 adults 2 children just there for drinks and to feed a baby. This wasn't a problem though we were seated well away from the buzz. Bar area fairly empty. Dining room seemed busy though I think trade has suffered as a consequence of the regeneration of the area. I asked where the baby change was and was shown to the door which was very helpful. Slight issue being it was up a huge flight of stairs!
M. B.
Arrived with the party of 6. Service was excellent and even though some of us went without starters, all food was perfectly timed. We had some special dietary requirements and it was nice to see that all were taken seriously and no mistakes made.
Nice and friendly yet professional staff and good quality food.
C. H.
I love having breakfast here before work!
G. J.
Had a beautiful meal here and the staff were welcoming and totally charming. Thank you everyone.
W.
Such a lovely dining experience; Dimitrius was friendly and attentive.
J. S.
Lovely food, cocktails and very friendly and efficient service, can't fault it at all. The only thing I would say is that when the bill came, it was a little pricier than we all expected - felt like the price we would have paid at a fancier restaurant in central London.
M. B.
Good food here, been to a branch in Manchester and we wanted to try the one in London.
Only problem I had was one of the dishes was unavailable however they managed to get me a dish that was normally unavailable af the time.
Was there from 2pm which was a good time to go.
Started to get busy and noisy later on.
G. A.
mothers day lunch with daughter.
first time visiting browns.
lovely food. had roast chicken dinner. excellent. needed more veg. staff that served us very polite. helpful.. did not think much of the hostess who took us to a table. found her lacking in manners. not polite. dumped the menus on the table and walked away. service slow. restaurant crowded. was expected. after all it was mothers day. our waiter was excellent.
will recommend to my family and friends. lovely afternoon.
V. M.
Large space nice staff. Menu is a little bit disappointing a bit outdated.
L. F.
Made a quick stop here over the Xmas period while at the Theatre and as expected it was busy and filled with office workers having their annual work Do's, but they found us a table, service was okay (given the amount of people being served) snd enjoyed a nibble from their Bar Menu and a nice Honey Beer.
I would definitely go back when it's quiet as it had a good atmosphere, nice Decor, good drinks selections and decent food.. Worth a visit if you're in the area.
a. F.
Nice venue, quite busy. Friendly staff
d. n.
A very warm welcome from Ishmael (sorry if the spelling is incorrect) from Albania. The beer, although not my favorite, was more than acceptable. The ambience was good and the menu sufficient for my needs. My next visit the next day was made memorable because Ishmael greeted me as a friend as he was coming on duty. Will visit there tomorrow due to this action. I can heartily recommend this establishment and, should I be back in the area, I will definitely revisit.
Y. S.
Solidly tasty food, awkward service.
F. F.
Food was good? Waiter with a beard was rude. Me and niece was with a group in the restaurant? We had roast chicken with chips and apple cramble and custard. I requested for more and he said do you want a straw with the custard.it was very unprofessional. I was very disappointed as that restaurant was recommended by a few people.
A. A. H.
Worth checking out. I enjoyed a drink and a meal.
T. Q.
I prefer upstairs to ground floor, though we often found ourselves “grounded” 😅. Food was decent, so were the drinks. The European waitress was very patient and accommodating.
I.
Food was lovely- my highlight was the pork belly which was cooked deliciously and had a small pot of apple puree on the side! Our server Hashim was so attentive and kind- please extend our thank yous to him.
On the downside we were not attended to when we arrived so had to find ourselves a table. It was really difficult at the start to get attention of staff and when I finally got the attention of one tall brunette waiter with a shaved head and brown beard- he appeared really annoyed and said just wait even though we did wait patiently for a while prior which I didnt think was particularly nice.
L. C.
Not a place that will make your heart sing or introduce you to foods you've never eaten before, but it is a nice, reliable place to meet people. Waiters are nice and helpful and put no pressure on you to eat up and get out. They have a wide range of food and drinks so should have something for everyone.
A. 8.
Loved the lobster risotto with added scallops. Delicious!

A meeting of former bank employees, ironically situated in the office where I was based in the late 1990's (the first floor in Portland House was the NatWest Victoria Business Centre).
Seated promptly and attended by a superb waiter. Food was excellent and in stylish surroundings where you could reminisce and chat in comfort.
A. H.
What a fabulous way to end a busy day at work. The food was delicious and the waitress, Samantha was excellent. Despite being very busy due to her also having to serve a party in addition to the regular clients Samantha was very friendly, courteous and efficient in her service with an attention to detail. The steak and pork was very good and the salted caramel profitorels mouth watering. Thank you for a lovely evening.
J. B.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented! Our server had great suggestions for wine and pairings with the food we decided on. Dessert was equally delicious, we shared the Panna Cotta, brownie and sticky toffee pudding.
I was only in town for a short visit and would definitely return!
S. “. T.
Drinks at the bar came with added protein of a fly.
Starter, calamari. Impressed as to how they managed to get this limp and under fried. Not particularly pleasant to eat.
Burger, well done but quite frankly, over cooked. Not great.
Overall, not the best Browns experience I've had.
S. M. W.
A night out with my son. Good place to drink.
M. H.
Went there for a Christmas lunch at the beginning of December (18 people in all) & had a thoroughly lovely time. The staff were attentive & cheerful. The food was excellent and reasonably priced.
Would also recommend for smaller groups and couples too.
M. H.
Great food, great service. Restaurant is very clean well staffed and service efficient and friendly. Our server went out of his way to help us - managing to get us an item from the breakfast menu even though breakfast had finished.
S. R.
Went here for cocktails. Impressed at how quickly these were made given a lot of places can be slow making them. Menu was good with all the classics. Bar got a bit chilly in the evening when it emptied out and staff weren't overly friendly.
N. B.
Nice food could got quicker ans could been cheaper
G. S.
Very amenable staff, who put a group of 12 oldies but goldies upstairs well out of the way. We had an enjoyable meal and catch up time together, made particularly special by our waiter Nikos, who, despite lots of mind-changing and confusion by our group, was extraordinarily charming and helpful - nothing was too much trouble for him. We shall definitely come again next year for our junior school gathering and hope that Nikos will still be there.

Had an early evening meal today after a day in London, but weren't offered the special set menu which we later noticed others were. Food was fine and well prepared but over priced for what you got.... e.g. I had prawn and crab linguini and had to hunt for the crab (I counted 3 prawns) but it was tasty. Service was friendly and polite but incredibly slow... luckily we weren't in a rush. The main reason I can't recommend this restaurant is that it was ridiculously hot.... it actually made us both feel quite ill by the end, and there didn't seem to be any AC. Overall pleasant enough but nothing special and need to fix the air con!
H. M.
Fabulous Venue! Great Food, Great Staff, Great Atmosphere
D. S.
Lovely convenient venue, good food and service close to Victoria Station
m. b.
Good meal and close to Hamilton the show
G. K.
We went here because we were very hungry after a long day. The food was ok. But I did notice they use fresh ingredients. Gerald waited on us. He did not interrupt us when we were busy in our discussions but was polite.
Over all a relaxed evening.
L. K.
The staff were great but the food portions were small and the drinks were expensive. I had the salmon which was tasty and the fillet steak was very good apparently so nice food but not a lot of it for the price.
J. C.
Wasn't thrilled with my visit. Air conditioning was still broken so the upstairs area was stiflingly hot (a previous review said it was broken a month ago).
I'm lactose intolerant and the server was very helpful- but I wasn't happy to learn that both vegan options (listed as VE) had butter in them. The allergy menu will tell you what's got dairy, but when that's everything and there's no scope for making you something without butter added it just means you're not getting dinner.
I ordered bread as a starter but it was weirdly half toasted on one side only so was just dry and unpleasant. The waitress told me that they had put it in the oven to warm up- but it wasn't warm or toasted. Just seemed a really bizarre thing to do to bread!
S. P.
Was there to celebrate friends hen do . Order 3 steaks plus other meals Unfortunately they then came back and said only 2 steaks left ok this happens, so one of our guest changed then 30mins later they came back and said sorry only 1 steak so again another guest changed menu... then a 3rd time a steak suddenly reappeared... Sorry this is just not good enough... yes our waitress service was good.. food arrived bit cold we didnt mention it. We got 10% discount after we spoke to manager but really this should never of happened ... poor show Browns.
J. A.
Really good service. The waiter didn't even have to write our order down and it was all spot on. The food was hot, delicious and plentiful. Recommend.
V. S.
My son graduated and the ceremony was at Westminster Cathedral, we walked across the road into the shopping arcade and saw Browns. We were seated upstairs which for me was a trek as the lift was broken and I have a hip problem and walk with a stick! IT WAS BOILING ! no A/C we were told. However, we had a lunch time menu my husband had 2 beers , my son a cider and everyone was happy. The food was good, we ordered extra fries but did not need them and ERALD was a superb waiter. Staff were friendly and offered to move us downstairs which was cooler...
Price was reasonable for lunch but they need to fix the A/C!
S. K.
Nice part of town for this Franchise. Good food, good service
M. R.
Had a lovely lunch here with great service. This is an excellent branch of Browns.
T. D.
A great surprise to find such good restaurant with wonderful food being cooked in an open kitchen where everyone participating in creating such great dishes. The service by Nikos complemented the occasion with good recommendations professional and friendly service to complete our evening in Browns. Enjoy. Thank you
n. a.
A MAZING...took my friend Marta, well travelled and cultured lady, who lives in Poland. We were just looking for somewhere to have a cuppa and chat after work and really just stumbled into it. I highly recommend it for whatever you want.. coffee, cuppa., Special event meal. The decor, space, menu and service is to be experienced..oozes luxury with style
I can be v.fussy and like to be in control so usually have something I want improved..but Browns I will go back to....
S. S. B.
Perfectly average branch of this eternally adequate chain. Food never fails to sound more exciting on the menu than when actually presented & I've never known a restaurant serve up such consistently ugly-looking poached eggs on a lacklustre salad. But, on the plus side, you can normally get a table when the characterful local pubs are full and there's plenty of good (yet expensive) wine to help down your sorrows.
D. M.
Went for brunch, which was fine and the service friendly and attentive.
That said, the coffee was awful, so bad that we had to send it back, undrinkable... They made us some more, unfortunately they were exactly the same.
The team were apologetic but it did rather spoil the experience.
P. F.
Very easy to locate and clean and presentable. Food was mediocre but ok. Staff were really friendly, helpful and attentive. As a meeting place great but sorry could not recommend the food.
A. B.
Basic high street British food experience
I work near here. Its good in that its easy, generic and easy to get seated. The food is not original or exciting but sometimes you just want to go with "vanilla".
In regards to the bar downstairs. Staff can be a bit cold but are fairly efficient. It has a decent selection of beers for a chain. Snag a booth if you can. I wouldn't recommend unless you are in the area and are too lazy to try one of the surrounding pubs.
S. A.
Good menu, friendly service.
J. G.
Love this place, we usually have a ladies night here on a Friday! Buzzy atmosphere, Cheap bottles of fizz and the food is lovely. 5min walk from Victoria station so transport links for all are great. Most definitely recommend!
I. W.
Called in on the off chance of getting a table, we did. The service was top notch and the food excellent, sadly we didn't get the name of our waitress but she was very attentive and took the time to talk to us. Would highly recommend.
P. P.
Food was OK, but due to the massive wait for service by the time my soup arrived it had a skin on it.
The rest of the food was acceptable, but nothing to get excited about given the price point
M. V.
Good food, great service. The only down side was that i ordered a tea with soya milk and they brought the tea but told me they had no more soya (on a saturday morning). There is an m&s just next door so i dont see why someone couldn't run and buy emergency supplies, although they took the tea off the bill i would rather have had it. Pleasant experience overall and reasonably priced brekkie
P. “. A.
We booked the festive cream tea and arrived half an hour early. We entered the ground floor and it wasn't clear where we should be going (bar area or upstairs restaurant) after being passed by a few workers without acknowledgment, we decided to try upstairs.
While the staff upstairs were lovely, helpful and welcoming, we were waiting a good 5 mins before anyone was available to help us (we observed during our cream tea that this was a usual amount of time) To make our arrival a less confusing and lonely time, it might be worth placing someone on permanent welcome, rather than having the servers stepping in.
Once we were seated, we were made to feel very special and we were looked after well 😊
The festive cream tea was a bit of a disappointment. I think the sandwiches were supposed to be lightly toasted, but it made the bread taste stale. The cakes were ok, but not great with random, non uniform garnishment (rosemary sticking tree-like out of a mini mince pie was one example 🤷)
Jam for the scones was not set properly - the scones though were fantastic!
Also, tea was not included in the price.
I ordered a bloody Mary to finish but I advise against you doing the same. I like my bloody Mary spicy, but this one was off the chart! I couldn't finish it. And black pepper around the top of the glass was a new one on me.
In summary - it was ok but not worth the money.
I. C.
Nice place, food is ok-ish, service is fine, although if it's busy it might take a while. Not pricey so that's a plus. Overall a nice place to meet friends and being in Victoria makes it very convenient.
Now the specifics: the white onion soup was quite ok, but the chips with truffles were a bit tasteless, better to try the regular ones.
k.
I love this place. I have been lots of times just for a drink after work or meal and I have always been pleased. Staff very friendly and food is very good. Some evenings there has been a live piano music entratainment. Great!
M. “. P.
My friend and I visited the restaurant for lunch. The food was good but the menu did lack a good variety of vegetarian options. Our waiter was very good with my allergy needs. The service towatds the end was quite slow and we struggled to flag someome down so we could pay and leave.
S. G.
Superb dinner, excellent service, one word...FANTASTIC
G. P.
Browns is a middle market chain of restaurants that hits the spot if you are after something that is tasty and quick.
The restaurant is on the first floor with views of people shopping and the other restaurants in Cardinal Walk, there are quite a few and quite a range. Browns has a bar on the ground floor if you are just interested in a drink.
We went to the Browns in Cardinal Walk before going to the theatre to see Hamilton. We wanted something quick and Browns delivered. They have a pre-theatre menu that provides a limited selection from the A La Carte menu but will provide them quickly. The pre-theatre menu has two or three courses but we went for a single course each from the main menu.
All three of us went for different sort of fish. Battered fish and chips, fish cakes and salmon. All were good and with some extra chips plenty to keep us going through the evening. Some bottles of the wine seemed a bit expensive for the type but there was a good selection by the glass and some reasonably priced bottles to be had.
Overall, the meal, including wine, was very welcome, delivered quickly and good quality for the price. One to remember if you are looking for pre-theatre or even a relaxed meal near Victoria.
S. S.
Service was average and waitress made a point of circling the bill to show that we needed to tip.
Food was disappointing.......I ordered the steak pie. It was nothing more than pie crust with gravy underneath and some vegetables, the steak was very sadly lacking. Expensive for what you actually get.
S. J.
Great food good price
R. M.
Have been here for quite a few years with friends. Took my friends here for lunch last Thursday for lunch and it was my birthday and they added candles to my Egg Royal. Food and service always very good.
N. H.
Browns is a chain of restaurants and this branch is just one of many bearing the name. That said, on my visit with my two teenage children, we had a very nice meal. Service was a bit slow, but we ate upstairs so we had an interesting view of the offices across the way (this place is situated in a pedestrian shopping area with offices all around). The food was nice. I would recommend this as a step up from Nandos and Wagamama, which are the other places to eat in this piazza
M. G.
As per normal nice food ,good and friendly service but it was a bit slow at the beginning. I had the steak and it was only warm ! But ok to eat but a lovely place to eat.
N. W.
We held a business dinner here for a press event. It went so smoothly, the staff were incredible and super friendly, food came quickly and was very yummy. It couldn't have been better and was very reasonably priced too!
K. R.
Bright and modern dining space. We were there for a pre-theatre dinner and received prompt service from Klaudio. Calamari starter was tender, burgers were good and the chocolate dessert was divine.
G. B.
Great breakfast options and very tasty but we were a large party of 30+ with just one waiter so service was very very slow (almost 2 hours). I was the last to be served so all my colleagues had finished their breakfast by then :-(
J. F.
Me and my colleagues went to Browns Victoria for a Sunday lunch. Not out first visit but i have never left a review before. Food was excellent as we had mains and desserts and we were served by Georgios who is an asset to Browns. Very attentive and nothing was too much to ask. I recommend this place to anyone and when ever you go ask for the area which Georgios is looking after. He will look after you!
J. T.
What more could you want- great food, excellent service, nice ambience. The drinks selection was very good. Entrees of Chicken Schnitzel and Guinness steak pie were both delicious!
J. C.
Service a bit sluggish but friendly enough. Standard menu for central London, whitebait was nice and so was the crab. Prices were average if a bit over the odds.
A. S.
This place is bussin'! Respectfully. SHEEEEEEEEEEEESH 🙏
H. R.
First vist today. There was 14 of us . We havent booked.Waited less than 10 minutes. The staff set a table for all of us to sit together. The food was great. The staff were friendly helpful and could not fault them at all.
Thank you all for great lunch. We are all hoping to be back soon. 👍
J. P.
Nice bustling vibe, a little busy after work as everyone pours in. It's not got the panache as some of the other Browns sites but is consistent with the brand. My barman wasn't that great and didn't make the drinks very well, hopefully it was just someone new in need of training.
G. E.
Amazing place ! Even in a really busy day that i visited with my family
We had the best service ..
And after we had few drinks on the bar downstairs and we enjoyed the champagne colada ... Lovely !
C. L.
Very pleasant atmosphere, great food and service. Portions were a good size too! Would recommend. If I could give 4.5 I would, just shy of 5* exvellence but very close none the less!
p. k.
Busy pub and the toilets are a long way from the bar which makes for some breaks in conversation which can be uncomfortable if in a small party. Prices are typical London prices with a pint at around £5. Bar staff were quick to serve and plesant
P. P.
Great service. Despite being quite full was not that noisy so could talk. Meal (beef burgers) was tasty fare and reasonable price for London.
W. C.
Good food at reasonable prices with a great atmosphere. Need to watch their timing on the theater special. Should not take 30 minutes to get it ordered and served.
G. H.
They were out of a few menue items. Their steak was overcooked and the straw fries tasted burnt. At least the egg was cooked properly. In addition to this the so called sirloin steak appeared to be a skirt steak.
D. C.
Good food, slow service, reasonably priced. Dont go tbere on Sunday for breakfast as most of the staff will be unfocused as they will have worked the evening before.
S. J.
Good food with great service. Disappointed to be told on arrival that our table was only for two hours. Not long enough for a reunion of old friends 😕
A. C.
Came here for post-matinee drinks, which were good but nothing too spectacular. We were disappointed because the best piña colada I've ever had was in Brown's Windsor, but we were informed that it's no longer on the menu, and they don't make drinks off-menu, as other bars do.
R. R.
One or two difficulties with a very large party but our waitress was lovely and worked really hard. Food was good - great location- virtually next to Victoria tube and rail station
I. G.
Great place for a team lunch!
S. S. H.
Although the atmosphere at Browns is superb with live piano music on Sunday, the food at Browns is unfortunately not worth the pounds you will shell out. The portions are small, on three occasions my food has been cold, and usually the dishes do not come out together. Last Sunday I went for roast and found my vegetables arriving 20 minutes after the meat course. By that time I was just ready to get the bill.
E. G. E.
We decided to visit Browns for an impromptu early evening meal to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Upon arriving we were greeted by the genial Head Waiter Erald who found us a table for two next to the windows even though we had no prior reservations. There is space aplenty between the dining tables so you may enjoy a discreet, relaxing conversation.
For starters I had the Dusted Whitebait with tarragon mayonnaise and my wife the Pan-seared scallops with grain mustard dressing; both equally delicious. For main dishes my wife chose the Roast fillet of salmon but I was unsure what to have from the menu so asked Erald for his recommendation; which was the 8oz sirloin steak cooked rare with accompanying vegetables. It was delicious.
For dessert we shared the Apple tarte fine with vanilla custard, hazelnut butter followed by a large cheeky Brandy coffee. The atmosphere, service and food were all exemplary and we shall be paying a return visit in the not too distant future.
T. C.
I've been here a few times and I've never been disappointed. You get an extensive menu, waiter service in nice surroundings for a reasonable price. I would happily eat here again.
T. R.
Good menu and clean but slightly pricey. Lunch for two with drinks came to £72. Festive (Xmas) menu £37 for three courses.
j. r.
Great food, fast service
A. S.
Here as part of a large group for brunch. Lovely location and spacious area for our party but the drinks and food took ages, even though we had pre-ordered and the food was cold.
A. M.
Been to the bar downstairs only.
There's a way to make it better.
Have a cocktail waiter/ess.
It's unreal that you have to stand up and order your own drinks in such a fancy place, carry them from the bar, yet still you get charged a service charge...
M. V.
Very very noisy. Barely could hear the other side of the table.
Food was OK, nothing extraordinary but at ok price.
Might come back for drinks but evening meal times I will pass.
A. G.
Good place for an evening dinner and drinks.
L. S.
Incredibly overpacked and service was slow, but food was fantastic. Would be tempted to try again after Christmas but wouldn't recommend during busy periods.
N. V.
Ran out of draught on one of the hottest days going. Only small bottles available which cost more than a pint but still charged full price for the bottles even though it was the only choice - left and went to Bills who had everything.
Y. G.
Visited pre Hamilton and the food and service were great. Nice extensive menu catering for all dietary needs. Will definitely go again.
T. B.
Great fun... tasty pie
J. L.
Didn't eat here but used the toilet, great service great experience. 10/10 would relieve my bowels here again. PS: sorry if I clogged your bowl
m.
Some of the best food we've had in London. Decent service. Great value for money!
J. R.
Great experience. Outstanding food. Best fish and chips in London . Svetlana provided out standing friendly service.
M. C.
Brown's have welcoming friendly staff and have been a great help in providing our homeless feed with hot water every Sunday for the last 18 months! Thank you!
e. A.
C'mon. If you want to have really bad experience in this area you go to Bill's.
I can't say anything about food but drinks... OK more expensive at Browns but proper ones. At Bill's drinks are not acceptable. Worst old fashioned I've ever drunk.
C. T.
Brown's was never going to win awards. It's an adequate place for a meal if you can't find a spot at somewhere more exciting. The fish and chips look great and don't disappoint (though the mushy peas do).
C. Z.
We had a fantastic service! Great drinks and view on the top floor. Florida's personal attention was second to none!
P. B.
Exzelent service with a very competent waitress. Goisa that was her name gave us a very good menu suggestion. We were very satisfied and can recommend the restaurant at any time. We will visit the restaurant again.
B.
Good place for drinks with friends. Service excellent. Only issue was the toilets which were quite far.
N. B.
My wife and I needed somewhere to eat before catching our train from Victoria Station and Browns provided just what we needed. My wife was particularly halt with her meal, we would go back again.
T. M.
Great food and friendly staff. Really nice environment and ambience. You would never tell you are in the middle of busy Victoria. Perfect.
G. H.
One of the best rib eye steaks I've had in a long time. And a great bottle of Chablis. Highly recommended.
O. A. S.
I was at the Browns and I had a great evening and service from the Albanian girl Florida , she was very kind and helpful .
Great place to be and I am definitely coming again .
Thank you Florida for the best service
L. V.
The food was really tasty and well worth the money, a great modern eaterie and the service was equally as good.would definitely visit again if in Victoria
M. P.
Great experiece! And thanks to Klaudio who was our server, he was very polite and attentive. The food was delicious. Definetly recommended!
D. G.
Food was good, restaurant was nosy, service was good. Price was average to slightly high but comparable. And we did find a quiet place in the end.
C. T.
Beautiful meal and fantastic service x Thank you to our waitress Ang for looking after our girls!! X
G. S.
Accidentally exiting at Victoria, Cardinal Place lead me to Browns. Huge venue, fantastic summer cocktails, friendly staff made my Sunday break even better. Will be coming soon again.
L. S.
Though it was a while back, I remember the dining experience to be good for our work lunch. Staff were friendly and there were no issues with the food.
M. F.
We have been a few times because it's convenient but seems to lack the warm welcome I have felt in Charing cross branch
M. M.
Didn't have a chance to try it the fire alarm went off after went in.
v. l.
Food quality good and good sarvice
M. T.
Good place, has become a regular place since I found it... if you are in the mood for korean drop what your doing ring this place up.. make a reservation... (gets busy)... order some bimbimbap, some bbq, some of them damn good spicy …
T. C.
Florida was a fantastic server. Our food was great and Florida advised brilliantly! Will definitely be back.
G. S.
Great customer service... everyone was friendly and welcoming.
Food was great... perfect for a romantic meal or a quick bite.
Thank you guys
L. M.
Good position with a light, airy feel. Food was quite good but several items from the menu not available on that day.
S. C.
Regular wine bar food and drink in the restaurant ... table for 2 at the window with no reservation at 6.30pm on a Thursday evening. Service was a little slow but we were in no hurry.
S. R. (.
The good here was perfectly nice but service was pretty slow and I felt the atmosphere lacked somewhat.
It was fine.
G. R.
My girlfriend and I had lunch there and the service/food was fantastic! had an enjoyable time and we loved the spacious setting!
P. N. C.
Food and service were better ~4 years ago. No wonder it wasn't busy on a Friday night. .guess most people knew already that it wasn't what was.
G. S.
Pasta was plain and a very small portion.
Burger was good but very small also.
Expensive for the amount of food you get.
J. M.
Nice food, friendly staff - drinks are a little pricey and there’s no one to welcome you on the door
T. S.
Georgios dealt with us promptly and efficiently - table of 19. Food was very tasty and served in time to get us to our show
J. N.
Quick service, best ive ever had. Great options, good range of gluten free options too
S. W.
Normal Browns restaurant and standards, staff are friendly and nice. Does get busy so make sure you book a table.
A. G.
Very nice restaurant with first class service. I would definitely recommend the food.
J. M.
Great staff and excellent food 👌
A. P.
Great location, food was 5 out of 5. Slightly let down by service. Overall very nice.
R. L.
The food was nice enough in the restaurant upstairs. The bar is what you'd expect in a bar pub. Visited in the evening on a Monday.
G. A.
Good food but we (a group of 6) had to wait far too long to get it
B.
Nice food, good service,
a. l.
Good food and service but lacks the ambiance of there main branch in St.Martins Lane.
M. L.
Overpriced chain. Not enough staff. Had to send food back to get it warm. Wouldn't recommend but it is always busy.
r. h.
Food was excellent, service a bit slow. However, gave us 20% off. Look forward to going again.
C. G.
Great place, surprisingly friendly staff and great food. A memorable lunch!

Service brilliant but not to sure about food maybe try something different next visit

F. C.
Great place went for a quick lunch. Service was efficient and staff friendly, would definitely recommend!
S. W. (.
It's okay but don't expect too much, veryuch as chain feel with a large number of covers and somewhat impersonal service.
W. A.
Nice and cosy. The fish pie was great. More fish in though:)

Excellent venue, great food. Would recommend it to anyone. Close to Victoria Station
M. M.
I like Brown's, but you can wait for your meals a bit too long. A little pricey all things considered.
J. S.
Very good apart from custard which tasted like flavoured water! They did exchange for cream.
g.
Venue OK, service good, cooking a bit iffy. Too expensive for that to be acceptable.
s. d.
Great meal for 9 on Saturday evening. Service by Erald was slick and professional.
A. S.
Good was good, service bit slow but good effort and nice dinner. Quaint table setting.
B. F.
Worth a visit. Lots of fun to be had by all. Let's you see all the inside stuff on the underground. Close to Covent Garden tube station.

L. C.
Good value for the location. Food wasn't anything exceptional. Very workaday.
A. H.
Not as fabulous service as a usual browns but the poor women was serving a ridiculously large section of tables, much more staff needed.
R. B.
Fantastic food and service. Had the steak sandwich which was excellent.
B. K.
Really appreciated the service. It is a good place to go before the theatre.
J. R.
Nice staff , great food and they serve a lovely Pinot noir.

Love Browns. After a bit of a hiccup with our order we got our drinks and had a very chilled afternoon
M. D.
Good restaurant, nice food, excellent service, good location. Browns are an authentic franchise throughout the UK.

Good food, a bit over priced, in a convenient location for meeting people.
