Reviews of Brunswick House Restaurant
R.
Beautiful layout with chandeliers and plants hanging from the roof. The food was interesting and tasty. The menu is a bit complicated as I had to search online for several items. Service was really friendly, attentive and knowledgeable!
G. L.
Great food and atmosphere
Slightly uncomfortable seats and price are on the high end for the quantity but the taste is delicious.
Service was good, I'd recommend

Me and my family had the pleasure of visiting yesterday, which is my first dining experience since August 2020. It was certainly worth the wait and one of the best restaurants I have been to in a long time. Not only is the decor beautiful but the food matches this beauty in both presentation and taste. It was fresh and delicious and the staff made us feel very welcome. Massive complements to team Brunswick house - my 17 month old also really enjoyed himself especially his sourdough bread! Thank you very much for feeding us such tasty food and we look forward to visiting in the future.
J. C.
Just brilliant! Food, wine and service.. walked past it soo many times, finally went in - sensational! Wine list is dangerously long and seductive
I'll be back! 😎

I am over the moon with Brunswick House, this place is a neighbourhood secret, right next to Vauxhall Station. We had a long Saturday lunch with a delicious selection of wines and food. The Duck Terrine was excellent, as was the Burrata with Peas, the charcuterie delicious and the Prawn with girolles and potato was fantastic. The stand-out dish though was the Courgette Fritters with Date Jam, WOW! Just really awesome food! The Espresso Martini is also worth a mention, a very high quality cocktail!
All in all, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit and I couldn't recommend it enough! It gets busy here so make sure to book a table in advance!

We had the absolute pleasure of hosting our work Christmas party at Brunswick house and oh my, it did not disappoint! Firstly, the team were extremely accommodating of all of our requests and the service we received before and during the event was spectacular! The building in the evening, especially at Christmas time, is simply magical and it was like stepping back in time! The food was delicious - I honestly cannot recommend this venue enough!

Sunday Lunch 🌟 🚨 🤩 🤤
Nothing more to be said that
• incredible food (Venison sharing is to die for)
• friendly team (George was spot on)
• loved the atmosphere (14:15 onwards)
• 3 hrs of dining almost and didn’t once feel pressured to be kicked out
• wine and beer on point
• starters and desserts are sumptuous flavour explosions
Going back for sure. Why not every Sunday.
Thanks to Jackson and the whole team

It was lovely. The staff have been incredibly attentive to us. The snacks and starters were absolutely lovely. And the wine selection was great!
Thank you for being so great!

Visited 31 July 2020 - our first outing since lockdown. The place has relaunched and gone right back to it's roots - fantastic cooking, exceptional cocktails and great service, with an outdoor terrace where we felt safely distanced and perfectly comfortable. The surroundings are truly unique as seen in the photos. We need to support great local restaurants like this reemerging from lockdown and I would give the highest recommendation to anyone looking for a unique restaurant experience. We absolutely loved it and will be back.

Extremely positive experience, food was outstanding and cooked to perfection, the brill really stood out though, the waiter was very attentive and knew a lot about the produce as well as the drinks selection. Sad to say I don’t remember his name but he’s of Lebenese-Bulgarian descent! Big props to him, thank you and we’ll be back.

The venue itself is gorgeous but, But what makes it really special is offcourse the staff working there.
I want to give a personal shout out to Benji, he is amazing, I literally based my order on his recomanda ti on, and trust me I was not disappointed! He will give you detailed information about every dish and with a lot of patience and a smile on his face he will surprise you. When it comes about wine, he is your man as well!
Thank you, hopefully you will get the tight attention from your team!

An elegant and slightly mad building, with a fantastic sharing menu and really friendly and helpful staff. We had a lovely, happy lunch and look forward to coming back again. Dog friendly too.

Great space. Really cool cafe, bar. I went for breakfast. Loved the decor and that you can buy the chandeliers. Food was nice, eggs a tad cold though. Would be a great place for a party.
P. S.
Stunningly beautiful restaurant with about 100 huge chandeliers (for sale). Small plates leading to main courses, the food is quirky but never less than delicious. The devilled eggs are divine! Very friendly service. Highly recommended.

Had an absolutely wonderful evening dinner here with my boyfriend. The setting us gorgeous and the food and drinks were fantastic - particularly loved the house martini and the burrata. And that's not even the best part because the service was just incredible. Our waiter, Arthur, was so knowledgeable about the menu and really helpful in choosing drinks, and made for a really relaxing and fun experience. Would 100% recommend to anyone.

Fantastic service from Molly, helped us pick exactly the dishes we wanted and directed us to the right drinks - all within a lovely setting! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
D. T.
Brilliant food and wine, customer service top notch. I do wish the menu stated what kind of meal stuff was though i.e. starter, main, sharer etc.
A. L.
A little gem hidden in the middle of nowhere (Vauxhall), this is exactly the kind of place we like: Interior design makes it very cosy, food is great and staff very friendly. Nice and quiet to work there as well...
I had the roasted cabbage which was delicious.
A. C.
Food and drinks were great! The staff made us feel welcome and found us an table to stay a little longer to finish our drinks after our slot was up.
It is cold sitting outside though as you’re not in the sunshine really anytime of day and there’s no heaters. If you ask nicely there’s the odd hot water bottle around to borrow though!
N. O.
I love this venue and they serve schooners!
The chandeliers and decor are a talking point which makes it a great place for a first date

First time out after lockdown to celebrate my daughters birthday with family. Very interesting building with a lot of history. Good varied menu ,we had vegan family members , also large drinks selection (really good draught pilsner from Bristol).
Was busy but service was attentive. Really enjoyed the whole evening and would definitely go again.

Brunswick house (or broccoli house as our boys call it, oddly, as they loath broccoli and love Brunswick House and I can't say I've seen any Broccoli on the menu) is a true treasure and to me represents so much of what London is.
Firstly, the setting, a crumbling antique-filled Georgian mansion (where everything is also on sale), built for the Duke of Brunswick in 1758, juxtaposed against the modern glass towers of Vauxhall with the MI6 River House on one side, and the new fortresses USA embassy on the other. I've always loved this contrast when driving, cycling or running past.
Secondly, the food is delightfully simple but sophisticated, potato bread to die for, steak reliably good, Dexter beef luscious, great wine list, and tasty desserts.
And finally, the staff are great and always happy to accommodate our young son who only likes "pasta" and none of that "posh" stuff... it's just a great experience and whenever we ask our kids where they want to go for a celebratory dinner, it's always Broccoli House (note, I wouldn't pick it as first choice for kids, as it is ££££, so special times only).
M. B.
Terribly special place... dinner inside a stately home, wonderful food, the staff are so kind and helpful, will deffo be recommending

I just came back from lunch at Brunswick House with my young daughter and had to write a review as the service we received was just so lovely and attentive. The staff made us feel so welcome - and even though my daughter was in quite a cheeky mood, they never for a moment made us feel like we were an inconvenience and did everything in their power to make us comfortable. They served my daughter tasty fresh pasta which she loved and I had the breakfast sandwich which was out-of-this-world delicious. This place really is a special gem. Would recommend a million times over - we cannot wait to return.
J. S.
Wow fantastic meal and excellent service. Our waiter had a great understanding of the produce and it's provenance. Will be back
E. D.
Delicious food in a quirky atmosphere. I would highly recommend.
J. S.
A lovely characterful restaurant with delicious seasonal cooking and helpful, informed service. I was glad that we reserved inside as the nearby traffic made the terrace noisy - the inside is high ceilinged and airy and pleasant on a sunny day.
G. M.
Nice staff, good bar. Stumbled in from the connected Brunswick House whilst looking for a pint. Went back in throughout the evening as it was cooler and easier to get a drink.
J. C.
Cocktails are mediocre. It took 15-20mins to get seated despite having a reservation. Service staff were all rushing from one place to another - at least 10mins went by before someone checking us in and seating us temporarily at an indoor area to browse the menu; then another 10mins to get to our own table. Not sure if heater was first-come-first-served or if that requires specifying at reservation, but another party after us got seated near the heaters while our table was further away. Overall the experience felt rather chaotic.
R. L.
As a special treat, we ordered a home-delivered dinner, and we were not disappointed! The cold starters travelled very well, and the hot dishes has to be finished at home, yielding a delicious result. Moreover, at £61 for a meal that fed very happily a family of four, this was superb value-for-money.
R. S.
We ate here yesterday evening, taking advantage of the Eat Out To Help Out scheme. Everything was lovely - beautifully presented plates of food, bags of flavour, really well thought through. Just right. We particularly enjoyed the raw beef and the Flourish salad, but it's hard to single out any of the plates we had. Our son loved his cheesy gnocchi (and all the food he ate from our plates). Charming service.

Absolutely amazing place!
We had our Covid secure wedding reception here in October 2020, having only booked it 2/3 weeks before (2 venues had cancelled on us).
The entire process was so pleasant from booking, to selecting menus and organising the itinerary for the day.
On the day was such a treat. The food was so beautiful that my guests are still talking about it (the galloway beef especially) and the service was incredible. We felt really taken care of which was so important on your wedding day, and not to mention in the middle of a pandemic!
In terms of Covid secureness - it was brill. Track and trace was in place, seats were placed a safe distance apart and there was sanitiser everywhere, so our guests felt pretty safe whilst also having a great time!
I'm so pleased we didn't postpone our wedding and managed to have an intimate reception in such a beautiful place.
Thanks to Jo, Tammuz and the rest of the team.
M. P.
Interesting design inside. Poor beer selection. Bottles (330ml) in the fridge going for £6, rip off.
H. J.
Absolutely exceptional food, which far surpassed all of our expectations. A very quirky and unusual setting, a real hidden gem of the city.
B. P.
Best stake tartare !!!!
A. L.
Although it's very beautiful with decor the service is quite substandard
N. F.
Very nice food, the whole plaice was very tasty along with the baby roast potatoes. The prices are a little dearer than usual restaurants but the ambience is good. Limited menu choices but what they do is good. Bar food is available but different to the restaurant menu. Enjoyed eating there and would go back.
M. V.
We loved our visit to this glorious unexpected haven in the middle of the building site which is currently Vauxhall. Definitely worth the journey and parking is easy in the Saisburys carpark 5 minutes walk away. From the moment we entered this magical place which is full of quirky and fabulous objects - all for sale - everything was Excellent
E. K.
The place itself is excellent. I have been often over the years, both Lassco and the cafe/restaurant.
I would point out that the staff seem to come across quite arrogant and as if they think it’s beneath them to be serving you. Strange vibe on that front and I must point out it wasn’t all of them, but enough of them for me to comment.
Bought a lovely clock. The stock is excellent and so is the food. If only the staff realised that they were letting the side down.
S. B.
Sadly we arrived a little late for food - the menu looks delicious. But the cocktails were top drawer and very reasonably priced but the real star is the building itself and it's presentation. A real gem.
J. B.
Incredible food. A wide spread of dishes and we'll balanced cocktails. Bryony was fabulous throughout the evening And looked after us very well.
M. R.
Had a small dinner here, tried the guineafowl. The food was honestly impressive. Quality and taste was great.
Cocktail did not impress me at all.
The environment is wonderful, a very old-school / vintage place, where you can actually buy them if you want (I mean the stuff on the walls, candelabra, etc.)
Would definitely recommend. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the spicy prices. It's a bit on the high end. But worth it.
S. S.
Wonderful service, great food. I would recommend this place.
b.
Fabulous lunches twice in one month. Every member of staff was brilliant. Lassco next door is awesome as well.
D. d. C.
Atmosphere... Huge place, masses of chandeliers ( for sale) , basic wooden tables or banquettes, relaxed, comfy, small healthy menu, good wines and totally lovely staff. Happy hours. A dinosaur place, full of antiques and vintage objects in the middle of soulless skyscrapers of Vauxhall. A true gem of a place. To treasure! ( Perfect for special events surely, shabby yet grand)
M. C.
The evening I was here the bar was very busy, yet the staff were attentive and it didn't take long to get a drink. The ambience is buzzing and the decor is a delight. I'd recommend popping in for a cocktail if you're in the area. This is a local gem.
V. B.
Enjoyed having my meal here with my friends the other day
K. J.
I can not praise this place enough. Worth every penny. Some of the menu descriptions can be confusing but staff are more than happy to help and the delightful surprise you receive on a plate is show stopping.
J. H.
If you like your chandeliers, this is the place for you.
S. H.
Very friendly staff, lovely place.
A. L.
Thoroughly enjoyable Sunday lunch in a beautiful comfortable environment with lovely staff. There is also an extensive wine list.
G. P. R.
Unique piece of historical south London situated at Vauxhall Cross amongst the high rise buildings. Has a garden for outdoor drinks, a restaurant, bar and antique store all in the one building. Suitable for meetings and events.
C. D.
Great ingredients, beautifully cooked and a lovely environment..
C. B.
Cute spot for a glass of wine or a coffee! Haven't eaten here before but the decor is beautiful with stunning plants and chandeliers and outside seating area
K. B.
Undeniably meh. Not bad, not great either.
M.
Fantastic décor, great service and the food was just perfect, full of flavour.

Unique styling. Good service. Only went for drinks. Google states open until midnight but closed at 11 which was a shame.

Loved it! Spent a really enjoyable evening at Brunswick House, the ambiance and the staff were great and the food was balanced and interesting.

The place was interesting. The service was all right. The menu though, for me as the first timer there, was difficult to understand. The price vs quality & amount did not match to my humble opinion.
