Reviews of Cabotte
C. B. K.
After a long day this was a real delight!
Staff were amazing and from my partner, they have been working here for a long time. Friendly, attentive, accommodating and knows everything on the menu.
The food was perfectly cooked (Obvs oysters were raw) and prepped; delicious and good size portions.
Love mushrooms but don’t have truffle often, it was the perfect amount on the risotto to complement each other.
Likely to return again in future.

Having been set up by two master sommeliers I was expecting a restaurant with alright food but decent wine. I was wrong! The food at Cabotte is as outstanding as the wine - and the attentive friendly staff make navigating a huge wine list easy and enjoyable. Highly recommended as a place for that special occasion
T. C.
Quick and friendly service. Excellent food - superb fish, perfectly cooked in a fragrant sauce. It was a little noisy but overall it contributed to a very convivial atmosphere. Great for a casual business dinner - not for a family meal.
L. F.
Was very impressed. Excellent food, service and atmosphere.
J. B.
Cozy, yet lively at the same time. Simple yet great design.
Menu is not huge, however that’s how an excellent restaurant operates.
The place is certainly very busy, yet the employees are outstanding, and very attentive, Alina was extremely lovely, friendly and overall just 100%.
The food is absolutely perfect. Cooked beautifully. Lots of amazing flavours.
I will certainly come back when in the area again
T. B.
My favourite city French restaurant. Very good and consistent food, superior service, welcoming and very well managed. Good mid-priced wine list and classy decor leave a good impression.
M. Z.
Service is good and friendly but small portion, non-surprising taste, expensive for its size and taste. Dish layout is beautiful but taste could be improved. My friends ordered steak and it was over cooked. Another friend’s Sea bream risotto was too salty. I was probably lucky as I felt my seabass wasn’t bad.
A. S.
One word - amazing! If I could give 6 stars - I most certainly would. This was Michelin quality experience of French cuisine! From starter through main course and into desert - every single bite was delightful, full of taste and perfectly executed! My biggest compliments to the chef. Thank you for such wonderful and inspirational food. My wild black bream served with lobster bisque was out of this world!. My husband immensly enjoyed his pheasant. And both of our deserts were to die for. We had Lemon and Orange cake and a Financier (which is an almond kind of sponge) with pears and goosberries. Apple tart looked great too at the next table.
Wine list is extensive beyond measure, mostly French wine. But sommelier was so helpful and lovely - we got recomended exectly what we wanted! Great service thoughout, including our waitress and even our host.
And the design and ambience inside are beautiful and relaxing.
Highly recommend this place. Just be aware it is expensive - amazing place to celebrate an occasion.

This place has been on my radar for quite some time and was happy to finally make it. Exceptional wine list and choice by glass, great ambiance and professional and friendly service. Worth the trip!
J. A.
Very central and pleasant modern French place. Food was really tasty if a bit pricey, but that comes with the location. The restaurant had a very modern choice to it and I'll definitely return one in a while to check their new dishes.
S. M.
Superb! Ed and his team create incredible food in a beautiful restaurant. Wine list is great too. 🍷
A. M.
Good Ambience - check.
Fantastic Food - check.
Fast Service - check.
Check. Check. Check. Cabotte ticks all boxes and to boot the noise level was low for this visit. Staff very courteous. A top pick overall. Photos speak for themselves.
L. S.
Stumbled in here for lunch by accident, and glad we did! Absolutely delectable, and the best sourdough bread I’ve had at any restaurant in London. Impeccable service. I only wish I was drinking at lunch too!
A. “. G. W.
A little gem of a restaurant with a great plethora of wines on offer. High quality food. Great for business dinners.
E. F.
Excellent food and service, and the long wine list was appreciated by my colleagues. Great for a smart/business meal.
T. R.
This is a proper menu, and outstanding we’ll delivered for your ‘City’ lunch. As one looks around the room, it’s dominated by the insurance market and the old school tie wearers. Excellent wine list. I give it 5*, but I would love the smell of the bathrooms to go…. Difficult when it used to be a ‘Balls Brothers’ in the late 1990s, it’s probably soaked into the woodwork.
W. S.
Such a buzzy environment, run by the owner who makes you feel like a million $. Fantastic wine and food. Not cheap, but a must go if you like good food and a London vibe.
Y. I.
Overall good diner but main dish failed to satisfy
The oysters and cold cuts as starters were fresh and tasty. I really recommend taking the oysters, the price/quality ratio is great.
For the main dish we took the classic French steak with eggplant on the side. The quality of the meat and the persile sauce were just not at the level we expected them to be. The eggplant was good but nothing extraordinary.
The dessert made things better. We went for the tarte tatin to share. Very well prepared and delicious.
The decoration is great, half fancy half modern and the service was satisfactory as well.
A great place for its wines but the cuisine was only semi-convincing
S. B.
We had a very enjoyable meal at Cabotte. The food was excellent. Our starters of smoked salmon (beautifully presented) and duck umbles (yes, we had to ask!) were both very fine, and the mains of hake and venison extremely well cooked. The pumpkin and blue cheese gratin was an unexpected highlight with the blue cheese not allowed to dominate the whole dish. Desserts of tarte tatin and crème brûlée were both more than acceptable. The wines we chose worked very well, and I'm glad I took the sommelier's advice on the red. The service was very friendly, but sometimes a little chaotic in timing.
S. B.
amazing as Always, Mathieu was superb, as well as Emily and Daniel and his team cooked everything to perfection!
Y. L.
Staff is friendly and attentive, but a little disappointed with the food. Both me & my partner's main were a little too salty, it's okay but not impressive. Maybe it's just a mishap and we were just unfortunate.
J. C.
The staff seemed a bit disorganized at times, forgetting to give us menus and missing an appetizer, but they were friendly and the food was good. So it's a bit of a toss up!
L. Y.
Exquisite food, drink and service. Would highly recommend
L. Y.
very lovely food for everyday dining or business meal. Good service
S. B.
Thank you Ed, Alfredo, Matthieu and the team for making our 1st evening out after lockdown so memorable! A super warm welcome matched by Ed Boarland's divine cuisine and awesome wines, including this Pascal Agrapart! Looking forward to many more evenings with you.
G. M.
Good selection of wine, charcuterie and cheese. Recommend for after work catch up.
S. G.
Good food and wine list. Good service.
S. E.
Really good food and a great wine list!! Plus the staff were so lovely and attentive!!
S. J.
Stopped in here for a apero hour as we had reservations elsewhere but the wine menu was great and we enjoyed some olives and gougeres. The staff knew their wines! The full food menu looked great too... will need to go back to try it for sure!
P. S.
Absolutely sensational evening. Brilliant food, top wine and great service. Looking forward to going back.
J. C.
The wine list is the main attraction for me, the range of Bourgogne wines available by the glass in particular.
The food appeared to be priced as well as any other decent restaurant in the City but that isn't really the point.
S. S.
Possibly the smallest coffee I drank, but it is where you go for some really good wine. Not a coffee shop.
Service was good.
Price is na - was hosted by a former colleague.
Clean and neat and liked it.
A. B.
Really relaxed vibe, great service and amazing food. Had some of the best steak here I've had since visiting steak houses in America. They gave us 2 baskets of the most amazing bread when we went (we couldn't help but eat the first on extremely quickly). Amazing French food good wine matching.
R. B.
Fantastic French cuisine with a very decent menu and extensive wine list especially from burgundy.
H. R.
As always excellent food and impeccable service!
C. G.
Great experience! Food was really good. As for the wine where do I start? The list is amazing! Even if you just want a glass there's plenty of nice ones to choose from. The staff was also great which makes me ashamed for not having any change to leave their deserved tip
R. G.
Amazing hospitality, careful presentations, nice enviroment and French food. The apple tartin for 2 is enough for 4.
b. r.
Friendly and competent staff, delicious food and excellent wine list. Highly recommended!
C. W.
Lively, efficient and friendly staff front this authentic Burgundian restaurant. They do classic dishes better than you'll find in the region - oeuf meurette for one - and brilliant cheese. The wine list is stuffed with goodies, many of them affordable. Even the atmosphere is good, especially for the city. A lovely evening and highly recommended.
E. R. H.
Friendly knowledgeable staff and lovely surroundings. Lots of high quality wines by the glass; I highly recommend one of the meurseults.
B.
I love this place since we discovered a few months ago. We were looking for a nice wine bar near Bank and indeed, Cabotte being owned by two French sommeliers has amazing wines but also the food is fantastic. A few weeks back I was fussing over my fish which was not cooked enough and going back last Friday I was greeted with open arms and ensured that the fish will be perfectly cook this time without me even mentioning anything. This makes you to come back many times, was so surprised they remembered after such a long time. The atmosphere is very nice, super friendly and attentive service. It is a place for a date night but also for a dinner with a few friends. I think the chef will keep us surprising with new amazing dishes not shy away from Michelin star restaurant quality.
Z. E. C.
Wine is great, food is average
H. P.
Dinner here last night as a four to celebrate my friends engagement, fantastic service, great food, exceptional wine.
Highly recommend.
Only suggestions would be to request full wine list when seated as opposed to the initial sheet, you'll be pleasantly surprised when seeing full list.
Will return!
l. w.
Had an amazingly good wine dinner here recently: a memorable wild mushroom risotto and excellent slow cooked beef cheek. Top service and a great setting too along with one of London’s best wine lists !!
G. C.
Really nice vibe, Food is good but too small portions for the prices
S. D.
Absolute star of a place - amazing wine list, fantastic food and great service. Please go and support this place throughout covid restrictions so we can ensure it keeps going! A must to visit.
K. J.
Super friendly, professional and knowledgeable staff, plus excellent fresh, french style cuisine. Loved it.
J. P.
Fabulous fine dining. Really interesting menu that looks as good as it tastes. We had a private room which worked really well for a large table. Great service.
B. K.
Very good very tasty food with generous portions. Amazing Burgundy wine list, both white and red, with more besides but a major focus on Burgundy. Very well executed.
G. W.
Great service and atmosphere. Food portions are very small and over priced.
F. L. F.
Very nice food.
Had some stuffed fried frog legs to start with. Then some pork and a nice chocolate desert.
The whole experience was especially made lovely by the very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend for a nice work dinner or even a date!

We were excited to try Cabotte, and even more so when we managed to get a reserved bar space on a same day reso. The only possible seating as tables were all booked. When we arrived we were happy to sit at the bar, a very comfy velvet clad, seat backed stool, with a display of the restaurant. The Maitre'd seemed very intent on seating us at a table he managed to expertly maneuver for us, so we moved. We expressed if a reservation would need the table after all we were ok to move back to the bar.
Food was not great, not magnifique, maybe just OK. The sweatbreads were cold, and I felt lacking in seasoning and depth of flavor. My pear cheese tartine, and salad were delicious. I had the hake for an entree, which was essentially a half of a fish fillet. While tasty, all portions at the table were very small. My colleague"s duck was also served barely warm and the portion size scant.
We ordered a half bottle of white and a bottle of red. We had just finished our entrees, plates still in front of us, when the Maitre'd returned asking us if we can be moved to have our dessert. While that wasn't what we meant when we offered to move back to the bar, we agreed to move and it turns out, its by the cold front door. He did give us 20% off our meal for doing so, but he ruined our meal and dining experience. Desserts were good and we also ordered more after dinner wine.
Overall, Cabotte is ok for a fairly expensive meal ($130 per person) with ok service and ok food. Our dinner out the night before, for half the price, was much better.

Outstanding wine list, phenomenal service and hospitality, seasonal changing food menu. I always have a great time in here

Amazing food by Head Chef Edward Boarland and his team. Pure French Cooking at it's loveliest. Serving staff treated me as an old friend, super serviceable and thoughtful. What a thill to be in this beautiful restaurant. I will go back asap as soon as I am in the UK again. Margo, The Netherlands

We had a nice gathering for 11 of us in the Magnum Room. Great wine, fine food menu, and good service. Great for a small party or team building experience.
C. E.
Fabulous wine list, with loads by the glass, including some special ones by coravin. Service is friendly and attentive. Dishes are simple but delicious. Mushroom and onion tart, pork rump and tarte tatin particularly memorable.
T. M.
Food doesn't get any more French than this .... Excellent all round. Duck egg entrée was particularly good. They have an comprehensive wine list and also use a Corivan so you can get a glass of aged Burgundy - something that is pretty rare to find.
D. A.
Short menu, perfectly executed and beautifully presented. Wine list is dauntingly long, primarily focused on Burgundy wines. Recommended!
A. B.
It was really good! Not outstanding. Service faultless. Food could wow a little more.
P. D.
Fantastic wine, fabulous food and really a beautifully designed space - I love the Burgundy concept, it makes it a unique spot in London, and defo not just for city types!
J. F.
Nice and fast service and delicious food
G. A.
Very good food and wine raccomendations, super friendly staff they really let you feel at home.
Thanks to Alfredo, Matteo and all the team.
S. D.

S. C. T.
Best apple tart ever! Excellent Service
S. S.
Nice ambience. Friendly staff, Pity that I could not wait to order their desserts
W. O.
Being run by 2 sommeliers, the wine list is exceptional. The lamb was extremely tender and the side of leek gratin accompanied it nicely. Highlight was the tarte tatin for desert - a Crispy base and caramelised top with a dollop of clotted cream.
S. L. K.
Went in with my colleagues after an interesting morning and the staff were lovely. Very welcoming and really cheered us all up. Super lovely place, we will definitely be returning. Thank you guys x
V. H.
Well-executed French food with an impressive wine list long on Burgundy. Wine prices are a bit cheeky for the average corporate budget, though.
C. L.
Very strong list of Burgundy (although a bit pricey well it’s Burgundy we are talking about here). The food quality is very good. I heart Blandford Comptoir though:)
M. F.
Excellent food and wine with friendly staff on hand to guide you through the extensive wine list. The Jambon persillé and Dingley Dell pork rump are highly recommended.
S. B.
Excellent food. Nice atmosphere. Good wine. Had the Pork Belly and the cracking apple tart
E. H.
Best wine list I've seen for a long time. Great food too. Love this place little gem.

Top quality service matched by the food. Most excellent 👌
J. C.
Service a little average for this type of restaurant. It just seemed to be mistake Street mistake meaning we missed courses, and drinks!
Still had an enjoyable time, but expected better service.
N. H.
Great for private dining in a chic but friendly atmosphere. I was there for a work event which was a very enjoyable lunchtime celebration.
M. B.
Wine led, French restaurant, owned by 2 sommeliers and as you would expect - the food and the wine pairing did not disappoint! Excellent Tarte Tatin
