Reviews of Chez Bruce
m. m.
Seriously, I am usually very generous with reviews, however on this occasion I had a $30 rump steak that was at first raw and after ministrations from the Chef, no cook, it turned out to be the toughest piece of steak I have ever had the misfortune to have been served. Will certainly not be a customer here again. Others of my party ordered Uncles Favourite and they were happy with their meals. Stiff for me I suppose.

Sometimes you wish you could give out 6 stars, as Chez Bruce is pretty much perfect - I've been a number of times and there's no more reliable top class dining. From the service (outstanding, friendly, thoughtful and charismatic) to the food to the wine, everything is top quality. Simply cannot recommend the place enough.
D. W.
Great restaurant for fine dining. Superb service and exquisite food. We’ve been here as a couple or as a group of friends. It never disappoints.
L. M.
My husband and I have been to Chez Bruce a few times. We always have such aovely time! On this occasion, we had tmgot married 2 days before. Chez Bruce made it so special Al we will be forever grateful. Thank you so much guys!! As always, the food was incredible and the wine complimented it...the professionals sure do know what they are talking about when it comes to food and wine pairing! We are excited to return on our next special occasion!
Y. O.
Great experience and service. Food was exceptional and really based on fresh seasonal product, nowhere near pretentious and we love that. Will definitely be coming back.
D. W.
This is a massive restaurant with numerous levels, plenty of seats, and plenty of food and drinks. The personnel here are quite pleasant, kind, helpful, and speedy. Their brunch menu is very excellent. The prices here are reasonable for the large serving sizes. It tastes great, and you can't go wrong with their tater tots. Their beverages are nice pours, but they have a wide selection. I would strongly recommend this eatery in the United Kingdom.
J. R. A.
My absolute favourite restaurant in London since more than 20 years. It still is my favourite. Fantastic food (including London's best cheese board). Excellent, professional and very nice service.
J. W.
One of my favourite restaurants when visiting my daughter & son in law in London. The cuisine is varied & always delivers exceptional taste & presentation. The chateaubriand is a gastronomic delight & we had it cooked to perfection for our differing tastes.
It is very popular & can be quite noisy, particularly, on Saturday evening. This doesn't distract from the service which is efficient & attentive to the diners without feeling rushed.
The wine is a tad expensive compared to some London restaurants of the same standard.
Well done & looking forward to my next visit.

Really great experience - all the food was perfect - great service too!
D. R.
A wonderful, wonderful restaurant. I’ve been a few times over the years and it never disappoints. The menu is outstanding- beautiful flavours, great presentation but not fussy nor over the top. It has a great wine list and always offers an interesting beer.
The cheese board is not to be missed- they clearly take great care in curating the selection.
Great staff- attentive without being suffocating.
We’ve never had a bad night here, nor has the experience ever been less than excellent. And at £55 a head dinner is extremely good value.
I highly recommend a visit.

Excellent food and service. A perfect local restaurant.

Haven't been since 2006ish but it's still excellent.
However, as in 2006, they still fail to mention pork ingredients on the menu for dishes that you'd not expect it. In 2006 it was lardon with the duck, in 2022 it was ham with the rabbit. I complained in 2006, I couldn't be bothered in 2022. Maybe, one day, they'll consider mentioning such items on the menu...

Lovely busy restaurant. Met Bruce as well and had a lovely chat with him. As a vegetarian, I am usually stuck in Michelin starred restaurants but always have a lovely meal and excellent wine here
Only reason for 4 stars is that one of my courses came out cold but was quickly sorted when I spoke to them.
R. R.
It's been sometime since we dined here but very glad we came back to celebrate a birthday.
We had a lovely three course meal. Staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was excellent. See photos enclosed.
J. T.
Amazing food, great service and Bruce came over for a chat which was a really lovely touch. Amazing restaurant with some of 4he tastiest food I have ever had.
E. B.
Having refurbished during lockdown, Chez Bruce has reopened and maintained everything that was fantastic about it pre-lockdown. The food is outstanding, the service is impeccable but it's retained the 'neighbourhood bistro' feel that makes it cozy and relaxed. The cheese course stands out still and as Bruce himself said after visiting our table, "it's what we do here." We look forward to returning.
T. M.
We went for dinner to velebrate my wife's significant birthday, the food was fantastic with matching service. Highly recommend and will definitely be going again
D. B.
Superlative restaurant which has long been the standard bearer for modern British cuisine in South London. Immaculate but unfussy cooking with generous portions, a brilliant wine list from all the major places and reasonable mark-up, and some of the best service I've ever come across in a London restaurant. Highly recommended for a treat, I don't anyone who has ever been disappointed.
J. B.
Missed the chicken liver and foie gras pate but the duck was excellent. Chez Bruce is as good as ever.
S. K.
Another wonderful experienc at Chez Bruce. We used to go a couple of times a year but haven't visited for 5 years. It was very reassuring to see the restaurant still looking fantastic and everything we love about the place is still applied to the same high standard - a warm welcome, super friendly, thoughtful and knowledgeable staff and, of course, the delicious and beautifully presented food.
The miso-glazed aubergine starter was very original and tasty, the chicken and lentils main reminded me of a unique Sunday roast and the honeycomb ice cream was a treat.
An added bonus yesterday was to actually meet Bruce as he did the rounds chatting to all the guests. Highly recommended and we will be return soon.
M. A.
Refine and high quality food. Impressive wine list and great selection of wines by the glass put together by Victor, a passionate sommelier
J. S.
What a restaurant! I live locally and consider myself lucky to have such a wonderful restaurant on my doorstep. A constantly changing menu, and probably one of the best wine lists in London. Excellent service, and phenomenal food/wine. I will be a regular from now on. Thanks to the whole team @ Chez Bruce.
A. A.
Lunch is cheaper for a reason so dinner is recommended. Fish dishes tend to disappoint. Meat is their forte. Nice vibe, good service, and wine.
S. S.
If you remember the Chez Bruce of decades ago, a cosy, welcoming local eatery, prepare for disappointment. Not with the food, which was as imaginatively prepared and served as ever (though sauces over-reduced and salty), but the NOISE! Having booked a quiet table upstairs, we were told on arrival that upstairs was closed, so were seated check by jowl with other diners whose lively chat made conversation for us impossible. The atmosphere was hectic; staff were polite but over-brisk; wine service was sloppy: we had to remind the waiter that we had ordered. All in all, a bill well north of £200. We will revert in future to the wonderful Gauthier in Soho, the very opposite of this disappointing evening.
T. R.
Excellent quality, classic cooking at a reasonable price. Dishes are rich enough to not need huge portions. Really enjoyed the ox cheek risotto for starter and the duck for main - though the latter could have been a little more tender. The cheese course is not to be missed, a large trolley appears where you're talked through every type and can pick as many as you like. Some fantastic ones on there.
The wine list is extensive (37 pages) with something for every taste and budget, though only a handful are available by the glass. The sommelier did a great job of helping us pick - the Mt. Beautiful Riesling was particularly nice.
N. W.
We had a fantastic meal here (as always). The food is first class and the service is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The location, overlooking Wandsworth Common is very pleasant and it's close to Wandsworth Common rail station so it's easy to access
Y. B.
Very fine French cuisine with plating and serving up to Michelin starred standards. We have been there few times and never been disappointed, worth trying their lunch deal (3 courses for £35 exc. service) and considering BYOB if you are up for some French wines over food (mind the crockerage).
P. M.
Brilliant food, service and value for money. Attended for mothers day lunch. Lovely ambiance, many choices were abundant and was greeted at the end by possibly the best cheeseboard ever. You can choose ANY of the cheeses. No limit to how many. My idea of heaven.... only one small thing. When our waiter bought the cracker selection, I asked for less water biscuits and more raisin loaf. I see him do this and I also saw in the reflection the manager stop him from coming out with it... he sent him out with less and said we could always request more which we did have to do, getting the waiters attention again. It was only a small niggle because it felt like the manager was being unnecessarily tedious, but there we are. My second time here. I would recommend to anyone.
C. D.
The best experience ever had, starting with welcoming us, level of service and experience and extraordinary taste food. I chose Chez Bruce to enjoy my wife birthday and I'm 100% satisfied.
Thanks guys you are doing a great job!
J. H.
A great welcome from Amy and her team and a real treat to meet the owner Bruce and hear about his passion for great food. If I was the Michelin Man I would award them plenty of stars !
C. b.
Been a few times in the past and always a lovely experience. Food was as good as ever and staff so friendly and helpful. Can't wait to return once my husband has saved some more pennies as not cheap!
J. M.
The food is clean fresh delicate but with a mixture of flavours and textures rare to find. . . and only achievable by a chef of great talent
P. P.
Glad to have gotten a table, and it was excellent. In short, superbly executed french kitchen inspired not overly complicated great tasting food. You select a starter, main and dessert out of around six to seven options. Service also (near) immaculate. Little things as drinks not arriving as asked don't really detract from the experience until you see the bill which is about 10 ~ 20% higher than you would probably except for the overall experience hence 4 instead of 5 stars. Was nice to meet Bruce tho!
M. J.
Some words about the food. We went to the restaurant for lunch and it was the best menu I ever had! An awesome world of flavors and combinations always aiming for highlighting on a main part.
It was a dream which came true. Hope we'll meet again soon!
S. S.
Exquisite food delivered in the heart of Clapham. Highly recommend the £40 3 course meal. Each course was excellent and the pudding to die for.
K. M.
My favourite restaurant, I've been many times and it has been brilliant every time. Delicious food and wine and a great atmosphere. The service is impeccable. I always recommend Chez Bruce
R. W.
Well deserving of its warm reviews, including of course the Michelin guide. Food was delicious, wine came in wallet friendly or wallet busting options to suit your preferences. Service was efficient, polite and friendly but never over the top. Our special event was beautifully noted and even warranted a hello from Bruce himself.
P. P.
An exceptional Sunday lunch with exceptional service. We had the menu fixe which gave plenty of choice within the three courses anyway. They catered well for our guest with gluten and milk intolerance, as well as offered a more than decent vegetarian option that another guest was very pleased with. I've never had a bad meal there but this was the best. A great birthday surprise.
J. C.
Delicious food and amazing service! Having a wine and cheese expert to hand made the meal extra special, would definitely recommend.
S. W.
Impeccable service and excellent food as always. We will be back soon!
M.
Love this place, smart, delicious and friendly staff. Shame I can't come more times £££
I. K.
Fantastic food, happy and attentive staff, not pretentious at all, just a really lovely place to come for dinner with delicious seasonal menu that is always varied. I only wish that it was easier to get a reservation not so far in the future but it’s testimony to how great this place is!
A. K.
more reliable top class dining. ,,,,,,,,,,,From the service (outstanding, friendly, thoughtful and charismatic) to the food to the$$
B. E.
Fantastic lunch in a very good and nice restaurant. Delicious flavours, excellent service and great wine and food combinations. Friendly and lovely ambiance!
J. B.
Always enjoy coming here for special occasions. The menu is always very interesting, so expect much agonising over which dishes to choose. The service is excellent and it's always a wonderful dining experience.
E. G.
The food was amazing, the staff are knowledgeable and friendly and the ambiance was lovely as usual. Thank you.
C. H.
We had an amazing birthday lunch at Chez Bruce. Food, service and ambience on point. Bruce himself was mingling with the guests, a very nice personal touch.
X. H.
Superb food and wonderful service in a surprisingly relaxed atmosphere. A perfect place to have a birthday meal. Full marks are richly deserved.
j. b.
A high standard of food starting with the bread which was thoughtfully served warm. Interior was pleasing and food had originality and was exceptional. Friendly service and had impression they really cared and had passion . Generous portions and food served was nice and hot showing perfect timing from kitchen to table.
C. W.
Excellent variety and quality choice of menu. Superb quality food. First class service, the best I've EVER experienced. When back in London OILBDER.
a. w.
So good to see Chez Bruce back to full capacity. Excellent food and service with a good atmosphere created by a happy clientel. There is absolutely nothing you could fault about Chez Bruce. The whole dining experience is impeccable. The service is so friendly, the food is an exploration of flavours that will really spoil you and for those that enjoy a nice drink the drink list is really something else. Bon appetite
M. M.
Amazing food everytime. Wonderful staff. Can't fault the place
M. W.
They do the standard bread rounds (and a baked good round toward the end) and the energizing additional items before you start, yet what truly separates it is the straightforwardness and nature of the dishes sheep cutlets with an aubergine relish or the most succulent and delicate meat filet ever and the absence of demand to any of it.
R. M.
Very good. Lovely ambience, food and wine.
K. H.
Unpretentious and absolutely delicious. A new favourite.
J. P.
Amazing food and service. Surprisingly casual and relaxing setting.
A favourite of ours and can't wait to return
a. g.
Great food, great service. Small menu, but it was hard to choose because all the options were incredibly appetising. I would recommend the lobster raviolo, well worth the supplement. They seem to be pretty busy post-Covid, but they managed to rearrange the tables pretty well for compliant social distancing.
D.
Absolutely lovely. We've missed the wonderful food and service. We will be returning very soon.
N. D.
Wonderful, as it was, is now, and ever shall be. A joy from start to finish.
M. S.
Service was good, the food was ok, but it's really not worth the money. Paid 180 pounds for dinner for 2 with 2 glasses of wine. Definitely not worth that, and won't go again.
P. A.
Lovely me for the in laws anniversary. Staff were great, food was delicious and cheese board was a different level. Definitely visit.
T. B.
Excellent food - great service, fab little restaurant.
P.
Great fine dining experience with highly professional service whilst also being engaging and friendly. Good food done exceptionally well....all the food components had great flavour and combined well together and were cooked perfectly.
J. E.
It's a beautiful thing, going for a meal and being so warmly treated. The definition of hospitality. Wondered institution with lovely staff and great food.
A. C.
The seafood tartare was unbelievable. I would go back alone for this. The entree's were enjoyable and quite delicious, but the most memorable component of the meal was the tartare. Even the bread options when you first arrive are ridiculously scrumptious. I had the onion quiche as a starter and it was more than pleasant.
G. G.
Really good food and fantastic service, we keep on going back
F. F.
Great, friendly, personable and knowledgeable staff (particularly the sommelier - amazing!), fantastic food and a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!
T. P.
It was a 90th birthday lunch for a friend and the staff made it special for her. The food was outstanding, and the house champagne is very good. The service was impeccable, and we were greeted by Bruce. It's a lovely place with a great vibe - pity it was too wet to enjoy the view! And it's terrific value for money. We'll be back.
S. T.
Still my favourite restaurant. Wonderful food and wine. Great value for a Michelin star place
R. Z.
Visited earlier this year with my family for an early lunch. We had an amazing meal in the small dining room on the first floor at a lovely spot by the window with a view of the park across the road.
All the staff was friendly, and super patient with my little nephew who got a bit bored towards the end of the meal and started wandering around a bit.
The food was delicious. The menu had a very classic fine dining type feel to it, and was perfectly executed from beginning to end.
A. T.
Really enjoyed the meal on the whole. My favourite dish was the lobster & crab ravioli which was excellent and the sommelier recommended an excellent wine from Master of None to go with the food we chose. The only slight let down were the crackers on the cheese board. Half of them appeared to be crackers Jacob’s make which I think we have moved on from in 2020, especially given the quality of the likes of Peter’s Yard sourdough crispbreads. The onion tart was nice though but a chutney wouldn’t have gone amiss. Overall, a really nice meal and we thought the atmosphere, despite covid, was really good.
P. n.
Eating here for a 2nd time. First time since covid. The mushroom and trotter was an interesting and tasty starter that works for western palettes. Then the chateaubriand was a tender, juicy, amazing traditional main. What a jewel in Wandsworth's culinary scene
S. R.
First time back since February & we were really looking forward to going.
It never disappoints, if everything gets better, if possible. Everything was perfect, meeting Bruce, who was chatting to every table was great, as was the sommelier & waiting crew.
Food was delicious.
Thank you
K. Y.
very authentic french food, loved it!
A. R.
Wonderful food (the cavatelli with veal was outstanding), friendly adn warm atmosphere, and well-priced for the quality. Highly recommend.
J. L.
Really enjoyed our visit to Chez Bruce - it began with an exceptionally warm welcome as we arrived, and the team were friendly, had a clear passion for the food they were serving, and were highly professional throughout. Especially enjoyed interacting with the ‘cheese lady’ who was really knowledgeable and very warm!
The food was not fussy or overly pretty in presentation, but everything was big on flavour. We both ate the scallop and lobster pasta which was delicious(!), the grouse which was good (but the entire dish was perhaps overly rich given the choice of accompaniments), the cheese board, and the chocolate pudding. Will definitely be back! Thanks for a great experience.
J. S.
What can you say. It's a London icon and deservedly so. Fantastic food and service in a relaxed atmosphere. They offer free corkage at certain times of the year, which makes it a great bargain.
N.
The food is beautiful. This is one of my favourite restaurants. Having recently turned vegan, they were able to accommodate this and provide truly delicious vegan options along side their wonderful main menu. The aubergine starter I had was one of the best things I have ever tasted. I would highly recommend Chez Bruce
C. M.
Yum. Couldn't manage the cheese board this time. Went completely ott on the other courses. Won't eat again... Delicious food!
R. &. J. V.
John who looked after our table , was attentive and pleasant, Alex the Manager explained the dishes and was very facilitating as we were celebrating our parents 35th Anniversary, and Chez Bruce made the evening special and celebrations to cherish. They even gave us some complimentary cake! They went out of their way to make a vegetarian tasting menu for us which was excellent. Everything tasted fresh and had amazingly flavours. The cheese course was insane - shouldn’t be missed. Amazing quality, presentation & value for money. All the staff were friendly and experts in their field. All four of us had a great time and were very impressed. Although they catered to us without fault, one recommendation would be to include more than one vegetarian option on the menu in the future so that more vegetarians feel inclined to try this restaurant!
I. D. O.
Truly amazing food and excellent service.
S. P.
Have been twice in the last month and on both occasions the food was exceptional, whether a fish dish or game (last night was the grouse) you won’t be disappointed. The cheese platter and knowledge of the staff on cheese types is impressive, especially for a cheese lover like me. An easy choice for special occasions but you expect a high bill to match the quality of food and service.
R. L.
Amazing, amazing, amazing! It was great to be able to visit Chez Bruce again on its first day of reopening following the COVID restrictions. Bruce and the team didn’t disappoint and it’s hardly surprising that the restaurant was full. You smashed the new version of the cheese board too!
D. P.
A lovely evening with great food. A treat.
P. K.
Love this place! We’ve been several times for a treat or special occasion. It’s lovely to have a place like this locally so we can have great quality food without having to go into town. They do a very well priced lunch menu and the wine list has some very good, very affordable options.
The service is really good and you get all of the nice little add ons like petite fours and an incredible shortbread at the end of the meal. We’ve always found the food faultless. It’s mainly fairly simple but very good quality.
Highly recommended.
J. G.
2nd visit to Chez Bruce, just as good as last time. On this occasion we took advantage of the Sunday evening offer of no corkage on your own wine (one bottle per person) so ended up getting a bit tipsy. Food was great. Staff really friendly, great. Did I say the food was amazing?
C. M.
A particularly disjointed menu
Here is what I liked:
1. Our server was marvellous, so sweet
2. The Parmesan biscuit was very tasty
3. The bread basket was generous and tasty and set the scene for high expectations
Here is what I disliked:
1. The manager taking our order was a bit short with us
2. Lobster starter was a bit soapy
3. Calf’s liver gnocchi couldn’t decide what the dish was, I’ve made better gnocchi at home.
4. The menu was all over the place and I would have benefitted from a server taking the time to talk through the menu with me.
I ask myself if I’d go back and I don’t think I would for those prices. Previously visited Michelin starred establishments have been worth every penny.
This restaurant would benefit from fewer items on the menu done particularly well as opposed to what is currently on offer.
F. S.
We booked in for an early evening Sunday dinner (free corkage). The food as always is some of the best you’ll ever eat, I believe we had a set menu which had plenty of variety. The game dishes are amazing here: pigeon this time and a venison pasta the month before we’re both exceptional. The staff are a huge asset to this place and are always really helpful at recommending dishes. A brilliant Sommelier too.I can’t recommend Chez Bruce enough, fair prices for exceptional food and service.
R. K.
Outstanding. We had a lunch here with close family for a very special occasion and couldn't be happier. The fare is certainly pricier, but the quality of the food is phenomenal and the service was excellent. From the telephone booking through to the end of the meal, everyone was completely accommodating to our needs. Highly recommended and would definitely return.
C. M.
Good tasty food and service. Nice atmosphere.. Not amazing or good presentation of the food for a Michelan star but worth going back.
J. S.
Enjoyed a really excellent lunch here. Food, service and environment all top notch and pretty reasonably priced for what you get. The front of house staff are clearly a very well-oiled machine and the food was superb. Only slight downside is that could do with slightly more room between the tables unless you want to enjoy both yours and your neighbours conversation.........
A. o.
I booked a table for 2 approx a week ago as a special treat ( for us this was special as its not our usual dinning experience) for my husband and I to celebrate his birthday. .
We are a mature black/white couple. The whole experience was one of the most upsetting and humiliating. The restaurant was almost full on our arrival. We were shown to our table against the wall, at that time there were no other dinners on either side or at the two tables in front. 3 further couples arrived after us. I was shown to the table next us, they declined. The 2 others couples were shown to the last 2 empty tables away from us. The dinning rooms were now full, except for those surrounding us. Which left us isolated from the rest of the room. As the only black person in the room, I think you can understand that this was not a pleasant experience and one for which we paid dearly for.
I am unable to comment on the food as I was only able to eat a little as I felt so upset I couldn't taste anything. I also kept telling myself that I wanted my husband to have a a lovely evening, to celebrate his birthday. The evening was spoilt my husband knew. I paid the bill, we left.
The 3 stars are for the waitress, who was very friendly and did her best, I think she could see the situation we been placed in.
I wish things had been very different and the management in this age were able to offer a diverse and inclusive service to all.
This was meant to have been a positive experience, leaving us with a happy memory now the opposite is true.
S. V. V. -. S.
Very nice restaurant with excellent good. The start is very professional and friendly. We had a very good night out.
h. c.
I took my partner for her birthday for lunch. The food and service were excellent and I certainly wasn't hungry when I left - and I have a good appetite. The wines aren't exactly cheap but we had a low price Viognier which was delicious. Highly recommend Chez Bruce
D. J.
My favourite restaurant. I've been eating here (infrequently) for the last 20 years. Many of the highlights of my life have been here. It continues to impress. The food is awesome, the service top notch. Here's to the next 20 years
S. F.
Thank you so much for a lovely dining experience. Staff are helpful, cheerful and professional. My husband has one or two food intolerances and the young man serving us was extremely helpful and thoughtful which enabled my husband to thoroughly enjoy his meal and had no problems, which for him is wonderful.
We were there with our daughter and her husband who live in this area and have been to Chez Bruce before so knew we would have a great evening. We all wish everyone at Chez Bruce a very happy, healthy and successful New Year. Jacobs Family group.
J. M.
Really enjoyed the food here.
The bathroom was not in the best condition when we went, service was a bit on the slow side and the dining room was exceptionally noisy so I think we got ot on a bad night. Have been meaning to go back but haven't... still considering it.
As I said the food was great
L. T.
Just WOW. Second best meal I have ever had and really very good value - £100/head for 4 with 2 bottles of very decent wine. We were there for a friend's birthday last Saturday (7/1/16) and the staff were fantastic and I can't wait to return. Wish I'd tried this place years ago!
R. C.

I took took friends to Chez Bruce last weekend to celebrate a big birthday for my wife. We had a great time. The choice of food was great and everything we ate was delicious. The sommelier helped us on a journey through some terrific Spanish wines.. I find it a joy to treat friends to lunch and to do it in a dining room that was lovely and with such good service was incredible. Thank you to all at Chez Bruce you made it memorable..
N. R.
Simply fabulous. Two visits here 10 years apart but the quality of service and food have remained consistent. The wine list is extensive and the cheese board is a thing of beauty. Would highly recommend this place and will be back once my wallet has sufficiently recovered.
L. A.
Lunch with friends in the private dining room.
I just want to say a big thank you to the team at Chez Bruce for hosting us on Saturday.
The whole day was fantastic and ran exceptionally smoothly from start to finish. The room is lovely and was the perfect size for our group of 12.
All the extra touches made it all the more special from the pre-event planning with Eva to select the wines, place cards and menu title. Our dedicated waiter who ensured we were always taken care of. The delicious snacks, food, cheese and petit fours.
I couldn’t have hoped for anything better. Everyone had a great day, it was really wonderful.
L. B.
If read the résumés of lots of the best places in London, they will be staffed by people who have worked and trained at Chez B's. It is unfaulteringly (I think that's a word) fabulous. Amazing value, awesome food and brilliant service. It feels like a real treat. They also manage to make you feel like a local. The cheese board is so good and they do not try to rip you off. Love this place.
J. S.
As alway a wonderful service and food . My partners favourite restaurant and was a very late birthday meal it didn't disappoint. A gem on out doorstep
P. P.
Thank you Amy and the team for making my 50th birthday lunch so memorable! Starting with a visit from Bruce to send his wishes, usual high level of service, food memorable, all my guests very happy, a definite success! Looking forward to returning (downstairs) very soon!
G. H.
Chez Bruce is just fantastic. A real treat for a special occasion! The staff could not be more attentive and the food is just incredible. Every meal is carefully prepared and packed with flavour. Our main was a little late so Bruce himself came out to apologise as it took 5 mins longer than they would have liked. The completely took me back, where else would you get that level of personality and professionalism? I will be coming here for many years for sure and will always recommend Chez Bruce to friends and family.
M. E.
The food, wine and service here is fantastic! Honestly was phenomenal. I've been wanting to come here for 10 years. However I think the setting let's it all down. It is quite small, tables really close together and it was very noisy and quite hot. Unfortunately it was not a relaxing experience. It was about £170 for 3 courses with wine and a g'n't.
R. M.
Very elegant and sophisticated
We came there for a birthday party. The staff were great and the quality of food was unmatched. It brings a bit off class to this fine dining establishment.
Price is not great for the quality of food you are getting.
Service is very prompt
Recommend for special occasions

This is my favourite restaurant in London. It's a little out the way, and because of that it's a more "local " crowd which makes for a nice atmosphere.
The decor is lovely and the staff wonderful so you immediately get a great vibe when you walk in.
The Menu changes regularly and the food always superb. I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered. Good selection of starters, mains and desserts. I'm a dessert guy, but the cheese board here is magnificent and this is the only restaurant that will tempt me away from something sweet. The wine menu is extensive and ranges from reasonably priced to well....expensive. The sommelier is wonderful and will guide you, and what is nice is it won't be to the more expensive options.
The little extras such as warm parmesan crisps, delicious home made breads and sweets to go with coffee make you feel this restaurant is more about love than money. If you have never been go.....and I'm pretty sure you will go back again and again.

Heard all about it but never been before. The decor was not as we'd expected from a Michelin starred restaurant, modern art on the walls but it felt like an Italian trattoria with lots of small circular tables.
It got busy very fast (we went for the first sitting on a Saturday) but were always looked after by excellent staff.
The meat eater menu was not for the faint hearted, calfs brains, foie grois, rabbit, pigeon, the fish options were more standard cod, salmon, hake.
Overall the quality of the food was exceptional, the service and attention of all waiting staff was exceptional, the fact that we spent 2.5 hours eating 3 courses but it felt like we had only been there for 5 mins spoke volumes.
It's expensive but perfect for a special night out - and don't forget to book ahead to be sure of a table, they book out fast.
N. D.
Excellent food, attentive service. Bit of a diamond this place. They had a tasting menu running the night I went so I had that. Venison was splendid and melted in your mouth and the little passion fruit Baked Bombe Alaska was scrummy. The cheese board, though, trumped the lot. Wines a tad on the expensive side but I'd return there for sure.
O. H.
Fantastic food and amazing atmosphere, even with covid restrictions. The owner was extremely friendly and the staff were extremely helpful. Brilliant experience.
J. H.
Lovely restaurant. Excellent and extremely attentive and warm service from the staff. Highly recommended. Just got home feeling very satisfied after delicious roast pork lunch. Will be back soon.
J. N.
Simply great - lives up to the reputation and the Michelin star with extremely high quality, perfectly prepared, food and exceptional service.
The standard three course prix fixe menu is, while obviously not dirt cheap, certainly not bank breakingly expensive either and incredible value for the quality.
Absolutely the best and maybe the only place to go for a top line fine dining experience in this part of London.
R. F.
They do the usual bread rounds (and a pastry round at the end) and the exciting extras before you begin, but what really sets it apart is the simplicity and quality of the dishes lamb cutlets with an aubergine relish or the most succulent and tender beef fillet ever and the lack of pretension to any of it. My favourite restaurant in London. So far.
D. C.
We've eaten at Chez Bruce a few times now. Food is always exceptional and the restaurant steers clear of the stuffiness of some of London's fine restaurants. Good selection of wines too from £5 by the glass up. The cheese board is second to none. Thoroughly recommend!!
D. O.
This is a diamond of a restaurant, have been a few times and never fails. Food is top top class, constantly amazes me and its fantastic value. Great location and homely feel in the restaurant.

Update 16/6/19: Another faultless Sunday lunch at Chez Bruce. Father’s Day, so totally full but food and service spot on as always. Expertly chosen bottle of wine by the sommelier which complemented both lamb and cod, as requested.
Original review: I’ve been coming to Chez Bruce a few times a year since first moving to the area way back in 1997. Had another wonderful lunch there today. Always popular, always fairly fully booked, this place simply never puts a foot wrong. The kitchen, the waiting staff, the menu, the wine list, are all spot on time after time. Today there was an apple crumble that was just perfectly executed - not too sweet, not too sharp and very very apple-y! Just delicious. You just can’t go wrong here. PS The wine list is huge but the sommelier will help you!
S. D.
Absolutely amazing. Great food and great staff. Good mixture of ppl working there. The Italian sommelier was the only one that has ever been spot on in my experience. If he says fruity or spicy it 100 is that :). Highly recommend the tasting menu.
M. D.
I rarely review, but I've just been for a second time and it was as remarkable as the first. Great service, fantastic food, solid sommeliers; we normally do byob and drop off the day before. We dress for the occasion but there's something encouraging about seeing families in there with kids in jeans and hoodies. Menu is ambitious yet lacks stuffiness just like the atmosphere. Yet to find a restaurant I enjoy more in London.
R. S.
Absolutely impeccable food and service. The set menu is well considered with a range of dishes with varying levels of adventurousness. Cheese is a speciality, and the cheese board is highly recommended. The decor and approach is refined but without pretense.
R. R.
We came for Valentine’s Day and we (wife and I) found it a real mixed bag to be honest.
Good:
- Parmesan crisps and bread basket - great quality start
- My wife really enjoyed the Mackerel starter
- The chips with the cote de boeuf were fab
- Creme Brûlée was delicious and the pastry and chocolates at the end were a nice touch
- The staff are generally really good, professional, proactive and nice
- Really liked the dining room - we didn’t have the best seat near the door with queues of people but the room is nice and unpretentious
Not great:
- Fish cake with poached egg to start was a bit of a sloppy affair as the poached egg was undercooked (the white, not the yolk!). It all just ended up ‘ok’ as the crispness and taste of the fish cake wasn’t there and all a bit mushy and bland
- The male manager seemed aggrieved and a bit awkward about the fact I gave this feedback when asked for it...I wasn’t proactively complaining or asking for anything so unless you’re going to do something about it or react positively I’m not sure why ask...
- The steak was also ok and perfectly pleasant, but not as good as many other places in London. There was just nothing special that made us both go ‘mmmmm’
- I know a fair few wines on their list, and it’s a good list, but a bit too overpriced and that’s annoying
Balancing price and quality, I’m not sure we’ll return annoyingly given we’re down the road.
J. B.
Highly recommended!
Had an incredibly tasty 3 course meal, which was also presented wonderfully. The staff were always at hand to help and knowledgeable about everything they had on offer.
Would definitely go again.
B. T.
Been there about a dozen times and never fails to impress on every level. Highly recommended!
M. M.
The food and wine at Chez Bruce is exquisite. But beyond that the front of house team, and Bruce himself, could not have been kinder and more welcoming to us. It was my mother's birthday and they made it a very special one. Thank you so much!
P. G.
The neighbourly Rolls Royce just keeps delivering.
How can you pack something this classy into such unpretentious surroundings? The friendliness of the vibe, professionalism of the service and masterful simplicity of the cooking make Chez Bruce sublime and special. A real treat that doesn't feel like you are showing off.
E. E.
Excellent, food, service and staff
L. S.
Amazing evening sharing my friend Tim's 50th birthday. Excellent food with desert a particular highlight. Discreet but prompt waiting staff where nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend wholeheartedly. Go, you won't be disappointed!
J. S.
Our second visit and it was again unbelievably good
H. J.
Heard a lot of great things about this place and was not disappointed. Sumptuous food and wonderful staff. Made us feel very special for our anniversary. Would recommend to anyone who wanted a romantic evening to indulge
A. M.
The cooking here is faultless and the daytime set menu offers excellent value for money given the quality on offer. My business is based on the south coast but always choose Chez Bruce as my go to restaurant as a thank you to my staff and business contacts.
Highly recommended.
T. B.
Food well presented but a touch on the dull side. If I say 'avoid the prune tart', you will no doubt get the picture. Staff appear to believe the entire enterprise exists for their benefit. A tablespoon and a half more customer focus would not go amiss.
A. P.
What can I say that hasn't already been said about this place. Chez Bruce has been one of the most consistent Michelin star eateries in South London in the last decade. Seasonal menus and great wine to boot. This still continue to be in our list of go-to places for special occasions.........or decadent lunches😉😉
M. R.
Went to Chez Bruce for mothers day based on the online reviews only. Arrived to a friendly reception and enjoyed the good restaurant atmosphere before the food arrived. £45 for 3 courses, menu had a good selection. The food was good but I felt somewhat underwhelmed - there was nothing luxurious about it, no wow factor that you often get in other good London restaurants.
Overall I had a good experience and my mother enjoyed it which is what matters - I would go back again for another go!
D. K.
Superb food and service, very lucky to have this restaurant.
S. M.
Tucked away off the beaten track in Wandsworth and old school in every way. Diners can enjoy classic French and English style food in the cool and calm white table cloth setting served by waiters and waitresses in shirts and black ties. Great dessert menu. Good for celebrations.
B. C.
Very affordable set lunch menu, especially for a Michelin star restaurant in this location. Catered well for our Vegan family members and staff were helpful and knew what they were talking about. Would recommend a visit to anyone!
B. V.
Solid reliable michelin neighbourhood restaurant. Still going strong after all these years. Never fail to deliver. Service is consistently attentive and exceptional better than some of the 2 star michelin restaurants. Menu is a bit predictable but quality is always reassuring. Simple but everything is done well always.
P. R.
Fantastic way to spend an evening if you want to celebrate something. Service was fantastic and the food was outstanding. I really appreciated the explanation of the various cheeses on their board
S.
Excellent food! Very impressed!
M. H.
Great food and very attentive waiting staff. Really worth visiting. Have a set menu available for dinner at £60 for 3 courses.
B. S.
Of course it's a treat but what a treat. Excellent food, heavenly cheese board. Very welcoming, especially with the children. Save up, you're worth it.
R. E.
Such a special place. Went for a birthday dinner and they pulled out all the stops to really spoil the birthday boy! I've only ever had great experiences here: food devine and service personal and warm. Best restaurant in the world? Quite likely!!
M. F.
I would give more than 5stars
Spectacular food, relaxed surroundings, attentive service....couldn't fault it.
S. G.
No other restaurant in London matches CB for longevity and consistency. Simply delicious... Every single time you go. Wine list borders on "toppy" but is well chosen and why not treat yourself when the food is this consistently good? Occasionally it has been heavy on the seasoning so keep your water glass full.
P. J.
Outstanding as always and wonderful to have somewhere of that quality on the doorsteps of Wandsworth.
P. A.
Great food. Authentic French food. The owner came over and introduced himself. I thought that was a nice touch. Looking forward to going back soon.
J. O.
Always great
Amazing food
Incredible service
Delightful
F. M.
Always fantastic. Food cooked to perfection. Flavours compliment eachother. Staff are always welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. My favourite restaurant in London.
T. N.
Good quality of food and service as you would expect of a Michelin star restaurant but not cheap at £55 for a set dinner menu. Quite a few supplementary extra prices on meals too. Tables very close to each other which I don't like...
T. B.
On arrival we were shown to our table immediately, unfortunately they had so many tables in the restaurant we had to squeeze past several and also pull out our table so one of us could get to their seat. Very good food. Nothing to complain about except maybe the bread basket that could be improved. Service of Salmon Tartare with many textures and colors that was delicious. The cheese biscuits and bread were world class. Tasted the button sized Fish Cakes with Ginger and Yoghurt as well.
S. G.
Still one of the best restaurants in London, made even better by the fact that it's far away from the squished foodie-fanaticism of the West End to Clerkenwell axis. Great service, great menu. The only downside (a product of its success) is its expansion. Cozy it no longer is.
C. B.
Wonderful weekday lunch, excellent food, good selection on the prix fixe menu and very attentive service. Good value for money considering the quality of the food and the service. I will definitely go back.
K. W.
A true 5 star service and a must visit for a special occasion. Unlike other establishments the portions were generous and the quality of the food, service and atmosphere were brilliant. 5 stars
T. R.
A perfect 3 course indulgent lunch for £50 pp excluding wine. Portions were plentiful, left feeling very happy. Great attention to detail.
L. W.
Inspiring and delicious food. We took ages trying to decide what to order because literally we would have been happy with everything on offer! All comes at a price though but if you go for lunch, the set menu is excellent value when you consider you have a team of top pros including their own desert chef just for the sweets (yum!) and a sommelier (wine guru) on hand too. The fine dining extras like freshly baked bread and a little heavenly cheese biscuit just to get you going again raise the bar from your normal meal out. Atmosphere is a little stuffy and formal probably because of the prices but this is definitely a great one for a special occasion if you're into your food. But save up because it aint gonna be cheap!
K. M.
Phenomenal food and service every time we've been. Couldn't recommend more highly.
J. L.
We had the most fantastic lunch on Saturday. My partner booked for us to go as a surprise and the food and service did not disappoint, it was also fantastic value!
R. F.
A bit disappointed considering the price. Food ok but not great. No double glazing on windows so cold draught, mens restroom up some VERY steep stairs, and service ok but they didn't know who had ordered what. Cost was over 100 each for 4 sharing one bottle of wine.
P. A. T.
We visited for my birthday dinner service outstanding and the warmth from the staff was memorable. Food as expected from the same people that set up la trompette. THUMBS UP
J. S.
Well done for providing a great haven in these diffcult times - excellent food and service thanks.
Please stay open for as long as you can to keep us sane!
M. M.
One of the best restaurants in the world and it still doesn't know it. The food is brilliant value for money and yet utterly delicious. The sommelier and wine list are amongst the best in London and I have yet to discover a restaurant with such a brilliant atmosphere.
F. M.
Came here on new years eve like every year. We felt a bit rushed this year and the decorations were not up to scratch. A few years ago the ceiling was filled with balloons now only half hearted. Food was incredible as usual although unsure of the dessert choice this time around
j. h.
Exquisite seasonal food, a diverse wine list and incredibly attentive staff. Fully deserving of an excellent and long standing reputation.
A. J.
Food as you would expect was absolutely flawless. The waiter who said he was the restaurant manager, unfortunately was sub standard. Rude, aggressive and not interested in dealing with unhappy customers... Such a shame.
R. B.
Excellent restaurant all round. Quality of the food and service is consistently good. Well worth a visit.
A. W.
Such a gem of a place of Wandsworth Common. The beef was probably one of the best I've ever eaten. The staff were attentive and courteous. Would definitely recommend.
D. S.
Food is very good. However service is slow and one feels one is being ignored for long periods of time. A lunch that was arranged for a family birthday did not receive the expected acknowledgement.
R. W.
A Michelin star restaurant that's a stone's throw from Tooting, you've got to love London! France meets Britain at the aptly named Chez Bruce, a SW London classic. It's not flashy or pretentious, they let the food do the talking. In fact it doesn't just talk, it positively sings. I once made the mistake of accepting a 10pm table, I arrived well lubricated and as a result had completely forgotten the meal by the next morning - a costly mistake and not one I've made since. Book well in advance for a decent slot.
D. S.
Delicious food and great service
J. B.
Lively high-end restaurant in South West London - food was good, and quite reasonably priced given the quality of the food. They have an excellent wine list, including (unusually) some great English wine. I would recommend the champagne trifle.
This isn't quite up there with a Marcus Wareing or Gordon Ramsay place, but it's in the top 20 in London.
C. M.
A little too packed and toilets were upstairs
C. R.
Excellent service and superb food, perfect for special occasions.
P. S.
The restaurant is situated in a very difficult to find a car park location and once you survive the stairs to the toilet you do get overall a good solid french food. Price wise it's quiet good for one star Michelin and service can be a bit of hit and miss sometimes.
D. C.
Top notch restaurant with first class food and staff without affectation. Highly recommended but reluctant to let everybody know. It is hard enough to get a booking but worthy reward for effort.
S. M.
Oh thank you, culinary Gods! A no nonsense, quality Michelin starred venue with a neighborhood feel, exceptional service and the best cheese trolley south of the river. Amen!
P. H.
Great food, good ambience, great value (esp on the wine list relative to other peer level restaurants!). Definite repeat visit on the cards (though it's more for special occasions than a 'local'!)
E. H.
Nice food but was expecting more given. Felt a bit rushed and the wine we chose wasn't particularly nice.
A. B.
Amazing, delicious food and not pretentious
H. D.
We went to the Nu Nu at the weekend with some friends for a celebratory meal. We’ve been several times before & we have never been let down, by the food or the service. Simply perfect
S. L.
For a restaurant that has a good reputation, its owner Chef is not a very nice person to people that had had issues with their meal. It is an expensive place to dine (not as expensive as someplaces in London of course) so this arrogance is unbelievable.
I went last Saturday for the 6th, and now last time. I wrote an email to Chez Bruce saying somethings that had made our 6th visit a very ordinary one and at £457 for the 6 of us, an expensive one. My comments included :-
- I thought the waiters (who did not smile all evening) where trying to up the bills by constantly topping up glasses, even when they didn't need topping up. Annoying with white wine that gets warm if drunk slowly, a few of our group were new mums and did not want to get drunk, we had to ask twice for them to stop topping up glasses
- paying £3.95 for a bottle of still water. Did the Evening Standard campaign do nothing for this rip off ?
-the number of dishes that had an extra £5/£6 to add on top of the £45 menu. A sly way to up the spend
- a glass of wine at nearly £8 was a rip off (and that is about the cheapest glass!)
As for the food, well it was nice, but nothing amazing. I would not recommend the chocolate pudding as its very rich.
The personal response I had from Bruce said :-
“It only remains to state that I don’t warm to the accusation of ripping off customers and this practice is not how we have built our reputation as one of London’s better value Michelin-starred restaurants. Given that this is what you evidently believe, the news that you have eaten your last meal at Chez Bruce will no doubt be a relief to us both.”
I will follow his advice and now give this place a miss, it wont be missed with all the great places now in London
E. B.
Always 5 starts from us! A wonderful local for any celebration.
R. M.
We celebrated our anniversary at Chez Bruce and had a fantastic meal. The parmesan crisps/crackers are amazing. Service was great too
R. C.
First rate Wimbledon restaurant. First time here for lunch to meet friends. I cannot fault it in any way. The the best dining I have experienced.
J. H.
Amazing experience. Hadn't visited in a long time but it was better than ever. Always guaranteed great food and great service.
G. L.
Food and staff were very good, wine advice very helpful. we ended up on the second floor which has less of a bistrot feel but is more intimate. But still next time we'll ask for the ground floor
C. v. d. W.
IMHO - THE BEST RESTAURANT IN LONDON!
I've dined at Chez Bruce a number of times and for a restaurant to continuously deliver on top-notch service, food and atmosphere is challenging enough.
I'm impressed every time!
L. C.
Exquisite seasonal food, a diverse wine list and incredibly attentive staff. Fully deserving of an excellent and long standing reputation.
J. F.
Chez Bruce is not cheap but the food is wonderful, the wine list encyclopedic and the service attentive without being intrusive. Always a real pleasure to go there.
K. M.
Great food in a nice relaxed setting. Didnt find the seats very comfortable but a minor detail. Definitely try the fantastic cheese board
B. P.
It was a pleasure to be able to give my sister and her husband a special birthday gift. Excellent customer service.Food was delicious.
V. B.
Chez Bruce oozes sophistication and class, without feeling stuffy and formal – a difficult balance to strike. The dining room is stylish, but understated. The service is smooth, efficient and knowledgeable with a little bit of charm for good measure. Oh, and the food, the food! I couldn’t fault a single thing. Highlights were deep-fried brains with warm salad paysanne, sauce gribiche and red wine to start and a pea tortellini with asparagus, wild garlic and mousserons, particularly impressive given that I rarely order a vegetarian main and like it, let alone more than the meat. The wine list is extensive and the sommelier’s knowledge even more so. And you really must try the cheeses; if you can’t see them, you'll be able to smell them.
B. O.
Best fine dining restaurant I have been too. The service is second to none. It is such an experience from beginning to end.
J. M.
Delicious! Formidable! Definitely my "go to" place for fantastic food and service in London. Free BYOB on Sunday and Monday nights
R. M.
Lovely! Excellent, excellent food. The weekday lunchtime offer is quite reasonable if you can make it at that time.
J. T.
A cult classic which has lost none of its shine. Superb menu, well served. Not cheap but you pay for what you get - quality and consistency.
L. F.
Excellent food, wine and service, perfect. Private dining room upstairs is a great option of there are enough of you - great space.

The best local restaurant for south London ever. Lovely service and fabulous food. Truly excellent.
J. C.
Has a lovely dinner here 2 weeks ago. Amazing cote de boeuf, great wine, and tart tatine was incredible!
R. M.
Quite an interesting british/French high end experience with amazing end millefeuille style
p. w.
Never disappoints, I would eat here more often if it was closer to me. Fantastic food and a nice atmosphere with excellent service. What is not to like.
B. M.
Amazing food and wonderful portion size. The service was well above average. The fois gras and chicken liver parfait was to die for.
A. B.
We experienced the delicious food at this lovely restaurant. Happy to visit again.
R. I.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere.
A.
One of our favourite restaurant, quality is consistent, Chez Bruce never disappoints. The food was amazing and the service was great.
J. T.
Consistently excellent for 20+ years now. Four perfect courses. Delightful service. Great wine list.
E. O.
My favourite local place to have a enjoyable meal. Treat myself regularly. Avoid the disappointment of other restaurants that are over hyped and pretentious. Staff are attentive, the environment calm.
K. B.
One of my favourite restaurants in London. Amazing food and service! Three courses for £55, great value for a one star place with such history.
G. k.
A genuine 5-star administration and an absolute necessity visit for an exceptional event. Dissimilar to different foundations the parts were liberal and the nature of the nourishment, administration, and air were splendid. 5 stars
J. M.
Lovely meal. Just a shame the roof leaked onto of our party almost the whole time we were there. No effort to move us. Otherwise 5 Stars
m. r.
Fantastic visit for my friends birthday. Great service. Amazing food. 100% will be back.
E. T.
My favourite restaurant now since it opened. I've been here as a kid, back many times for era defining meals and now for my 40th. The kind of restaurant I want my restaurant to be when it grows up.
N. T.
It was our second time for lunch and both times our meals have been fantastic. Weekday lunch is actually a great deal, I think it was GBP 27 for three courses.
J. C. R.
I have been twice to this resturant, The food is wonderful, beautiful really no words. Fantastic wine list. Exceptional service.
M. G.
Great food and service. Compared to other restaurants in the same price range, Chez Bruce is offers great value for money. The venisson main is outstanding.
W. C.
An amazing restaurant, complimented by amazing staff. The private room upstairs was just the right setting for a birthday meal which exceeded expectations
N. K.
Great quality food and excellent, efficient and friendly service. It is a place where the food, and service, does the talking as oppose to being some glitzy restaurant.
R. N.
Amazing food and excellent service. It ain't cheap by any standards but for a special occasion it's my favourite restaurant in London
A. C.
The cheese board is outstanding! Wonderful food and relaxed elegance, great for a night out with friends or family. Impeccable service
J. M.
Wonderful welcome. Such a varied and tasty menu. Relaxed fine dining.
L. H.
Had a lovely relaxing lunch good food friendly staff warm atmosphere, was welcomed by Bruce himself nice touch!!
M. H.
still serving some of the best food in london at only a slightly higher price. the foie gras parfait and brioche is an excellent starter, the brioche done beautifully. from the main courses the boudin blanc and prok belly is perfection and steaks are always extremely good. despite losing the fantastic sommelier luke to a rival the waiting staff are excellent and well informed.
E. D.
Cosy atmosphere, food wss delicious, portion's just right and excellent service! Simply pleasant....!
T. W.
Pretty cool, restaurant and has some top cocktails too! Prices are high, but you get what you pay for!
M. C.
A top restaurant, food quality is always fantastic and it's a lovely place to go when you want a special evening. Top service, top food!
M. L.
The food was fantastic, as ever. Not to be faulted. Dropped a star because of the less than warm welcome and departure from the frosty / aloof man on reception.
T. G.
Highly recommended, fantastic food and value for money given the level of service and food. I've been to many highly rated restaurants and chez Bruce is one of the best
P. S.
Great food, Great atmosphere, great service. My husband and I both had a 3 course meal and we enjoyed every course!
W. C.
Fantastic! Food was excellent, staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. Can't fault it at all.
B. B.
My absolute favourite restaurant!

L. W.
Lovely restaurant with unassuming exterior and top quality food
P. A.
Food excellent, best cheese board ever.
Service excellent, like it that Bruce wanders by for a chat!
K. 1.
High-end Modern French dining, fine wines and an extensive cheese board in a simply decorated space.
N. C.
Truly amazing food, great wine, relaxed atmosphere and a lovely setting next to the common. This is actually one of the best restaurants in London.
M. W.
To be honest it didn't live up to the hype. The food was OK, but the choice was relatively limited and seemed expensive as a result. I'm sure some people will live, but I've been to better.
S.
Beautiful food with a spectacular wine list in a lovely atmosphere. Our favourite restaurant in the world!
E. Z.
Perfect and incredible menú. All's good!!!! Yumm!!!

D. M.
Visited for a celebration. They accommodated us well considering we have a young baby. Food was great
A. C.
Beautiful small little restaurant over looking Wandsworth Park. Chez Bruce is a Michelin star restaurant and they do deserve the award. Amazing food and amazing service.
K. P.
We had a lovely, delicious lunch, and the staff were exceptional!
Took 3 trains to get there and well worth the effort!!
D. S.
Excellent food, a bit pricey
P. W.
Great. Makes life super convenient and the food is amazing. Helping me hit my targets and fitness goals.
D. M.
Excellent food and service, with no-fuss adaptations for the gluten-free member of our party.
J. T.
I love this place. Food is always outstanding. Cheese board is one of the best in London. Great service.
W. T.
The food was excellent but to be honest we found the wine waiter really grumpy and extremely curt.
R. D.
Amazing staff, great food, lovely atmosphere and lots of nice extras. About £100 a head with a few drinks and extras but worth it.
E. B.
High-end restaurant. Book ahead, you won't be disappointed. This is real fine-dining, for that special treat.
Y. P.
After the first visit there about 2/3 years ago when we were wowed in every respect, we were very disappointed! Barely mediocre( for their fame!)
E. F.
Really good food, been many times for lunch and dinner. Service is great too.
P. M.
Consistently excellent although we recently went on a Monday when the Maitre D' was away and we felt the service was compromised and they were just rushing us through
N. N.
Fantastic restaurant. Lovely food and ambience. Very nice staff. Great
D. G. (.
Service was on point, to be expected from a Micheline star restaurant. Food was excellent and all the little extra bits they do go that extra mile to make it special.
D. C.
Always a delight. The food is full of unusual tantalising flavour combinations. I go there whenever I get a chance.
m. m.
this place may be pretty expensive(50-100 pounds per person) and you do need a reservation, but it it worth it. really really awesome food
D. W.
One of the finest restaurants in South West London. Get the chicken.
O. G.
Fantastic food, great service, nice atmosphere. Also try the Glasshouse at Kew Gardens - owned by the same people. :)
