Reviews of Circus

Such a great experience!
The shows were incredible, the performers are so strong and mesmerising.
The food was nice overall, although the steak lacked flavour. Some salt, pepper and garlic powder would’ve made all the difference as it was cooked well.
We didn’t like the edamame beans as they do not have any flavour.
I would recommend others to visit Circus.

The staff were very attentive and quick to serve our food! The venue was amazing and the acts were phenomenal. The food was perfect, salmon cooked exactly how I like it and a good amount of time between each serving. I would highly recommend for a celebration or nice meet up with friends! Will definitely be going back again.

This restaurant is so fantastic. World class acts through the night. Highly recommend for a great night out. We had so much fun. It was packed, and great value for money. Just go. You won't be disappointed!

Had high expectations of this venue but found it very expensive for what it was.
Food was lovely but not much of it . First dish was pea pods on ice . Sounded fancy , the rest that followed was nice but definitely not worth £65 a head . Entertainment was good what we saw but not enough again to warrant the price . We saw 4 acts that lasted literally minutes. We was expecting to see more but in between acts nothing was going on that entertained you . The lady singer was an amazing compare she came around and got to know the audience . Highlighted our wedding anniversary and without her probably would have given 2* .
Food / acts was great but not enough of it esp given the cost . Our bill came to £227 inc drinks ,2 tickets and service charge . Was an expensive experience for a 2 / 3 * show . wouldn’t go again .

We had a great evening. Frederica was such a great waitress. She ensured we were comfortable and made sure everything was perfect for us.
The acts were good but very similar. Would have been nice to see some fire acts or something different. Had to wait a long time in between each act.
Expensive for what it is.
Food was good but luke warm.
Thank you

Had a lovely time at Circus, I bought Balloons and flowers for our table but you are not allowed to decorate the table I was disappointed but as a kind gesture the manager gave us 3 bottles of proscesco for free which was lovely. The food was great and so was the atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

Love this place. Been here twice now. The food is delicious and the entertainment is off the chart! Thank you for a lovely evening.

I went here for their brunch. They have 2 sittings, I went for the 2:30 one which was the later of the two. Bottomless was only for 1 hour so something to consider, I doubt I even managed to drink more than 3 glasses in that time. The acts were good but as others have said literally perform for 1 or 2 minutes. There were 4 acts. Lots of people were celebrating their bdays which did make for a fun atmosphere. The reason for the average rating is that this is probably one of the worst ways to spend your money. Very overpriced for what it was. The food was tasty enough, nothing special but the portions were so tiny. You were sharing a portion for one between two. I left the place hungry and ended up eating again. I also left sober which is shame for a bottomless brunch.
By 4:30 the tables are literally getting packed away and the place being prepared to close for dinner service. There is no polite waiting for you, 2 hours max and you are out. This in turn made the experience feel quite rushed and I didn't get to catch up with my friend properly. With service charge we paid approx £67 each for bottomless brunch. This exodidnce is worth no more than £45 each. Pay that bit more for a high end experience elsewhere or even pay less and leave tipsy and well fed!
P. H.
Staff are polite and friendly, entertainment great and food delicious. Steak is well worth £10 supplement. Highly recommended

A fun night = sensational live music cabaret + fine wine and cocktails + Pan-Asian fusion food + late-night dancing at the Circus London, tucked away in the heart of Covent Garden. Great value of tasting menu of 10 dishes with live performance incl. at £75 per person

Wowww!!! Best place we've been in London, Chef Sunil and his team made an excellent menu, amazing flavours! Paula was our waitress, the service was perfect, shows were just brilliant, great staff, great vibes, best night out, thank you!!!🙏🙏🙏🤩🤩🤩
C. B.
I went with my sister yesterday and we absolutely loved it. The food was high quality and delicious. Everyone was super friendly, our server Andrea was amazing, he was fun and he kept our bottomless prosecco well and truly topped up. The entertainment was breathtaking, stunningly beautiful women with serious talent. We have already recommended it to friends and family,. Book it now, you won't be disappointed unless you're dead inside.

I had been wanting to go to Circus for ages. We finally went yesterday and overall I would say it didn't live up to expectations. The food and service were ok but it wasn't worth the price. The acts were good but there were fewer acts than I was expecting and nothing else going on. I wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend visiting on balance.
A. N.
The overall service and ambience of the place is great however, I found the food to be a let down. We went for the chef's tasting menu at £85pp but i really didn't think it was worth it for the price. The tempura lobster was extremely salty, which our nice waitress did change for us but it didn't seem to be any different. The rest of the food i thought was way too sweet and nothing really stood out for me. Entertainment is good but charging an extra £3pp on top isn't really fair. Lastly, once the stage table was moved and the restaurant turned into a club it was more of a over 50s scene
N. G.
Really good afternoon out. The service was really good and our waitress was super helpful in talking through the menu all done with a smile on her face. Food came out hot and was delicious. Covid measures were in place and the three acts were enjoyable. Some room for improvement is around the booking, as we had a table with restricted view which could be mentioned when booking. Also the ladies loos had a very unpleasant smell. However overall we had fun on our first time out since Lockdown
S. P.
Meal was very tasty entertainment was good for the few minutes it existed. All very similar. Not the best nights entertainment I’ve ever had.
R.
It's the place with no clear indication outside so it's easily overlooked. Once you get in you can have a drink while you wait. It's a mix between bar, show and restaurant and as a result it is quite loud so don't go there if you want a quiet meal. For the bar part they have a nice selection of drinks and most will find something they like. The performances are not the best in the world but entertaining and a nice break to look at. The restaurant is for the most part nice. The fried food was a bit too oily for me but the main dishes were really good. Staff did give us the wrong thing twice so could be better. Enjoyable experience all in all.
M. U.
I didn’t think it was great. It is definitely overpriced for what it is. The staff was friendly and serving the prosecco often but you have very little time and it ends before the show begins. The food was just okay and it is very overpriced for the amount you get. There’s other better bottomless brunches in London for the same price.
W. O.
First night open since the start of the pandemic and my first time visiting. It was splendid. The acts were amazing. The service was wonderful. There is a set menu which I was somewhat surprised by as there wasn’t any choice. That part didn’t work for me but honestly the different acts made up for the average food. The cocktails were ok.
K. S.
The food was nice enough, but for the high price you pay the portions were small and it's almost too noisy in there. The hostess was great and the acts were too. Just didn't think it needed to be so noisy all the time. The bar area is small and cramped so you can't enjoy a drink as there isn't enough space to stand or sit. Toilets are clean though and unisex!
t. j.
Not much of an experience considering what we paid. The lighting and show were decent if you get a good table, else it's a bit crowded.
The service was fast but nothing out of the ordinary. Food was just okay. They say its Asian fusion, but it seemed liked sweetened Asian food. The dumplings and curry were tasty but the dessert and salmon were just not for me.
Overall I'd give it a miss if I can, definitely not if you're looking for a stag do or an event.
A. F.
We visited Circus last night for a friend's 40th birthday, this was our first time at this amazing venue. The concept is superb and something that's needed to shakeup London's Restaurant scene. The acts were superb, food was even better and to top it all off the service was amazing. If are visiting try and get as near to the stage as possible to get the best experience. If you choose the 2nd sitting - the stage moves away and the space becomes a dancefloor to party the night away to some new and old school music.
E. L. G.
As the name suggests, this is not just any old restaurant in Covent Garden! Circus offers Pan-Asian cuisine from Chef Andrew Lassetter with a twist – live cabaret acts during each course! We wondered if it would be slightly gimmicky but it absolutely was not.
The quartz ‘Stage’ table hosts up to 28 people which is perfect for corporate events, hen do’s, birthdays and more. From 7pm, the restaurant comes to life with performers between each course. Find them suspended above you in hoops, acrobating across the table and swinging from the ceiling! It was certainty entertaining and we loved the slight of hand magician who personally visited the tables.
We absolutely loved the cocktail menu which naturally made it more difficult to choose…Our favourite cocktail was the Romero & Fresa: Beefeater gin, rhubarb liqueur, egg white, apple juice, lemon juice, homemade rosemary and strawberry syrup. It was beautifully presented and the perfect level of sweet and sour.
The Golden Dhalia: Bombay Sapphire Gin, apricot liqueur, orange juice, egg whit, cherry bitters and lemon juice was also impressive. We seem to be ordering more and more gin cocktails at the minute!
You must order at least two courses at Circus and the entertainment is charged at £3pp. Previously there was a set menu per person which was around £60 so a compulsory order of two courses is perfectly reasonable.
We started off with Circus Crackers: Chilli garlic & Plumb Sauce (£6). For that price, we would have liked a slightly bigger portion but they were tasty nonetheless. The Dim Sum selection was impressive and we loved the Aromatic Crispy Duck Wonton Dumplings (£8.50). They were packed with filling and the spring onion and yuzu plum sauce was just delicious.
The Chicken & Water Chestnut Gyoza with Mangetout, spring onion & sweet black vinegar were also impressive (£7.50). Lastly, the Chilli Salt Squid was a good sized protein with an amazing sweet chilli, salt & pepper sauce, which was rather moreish.
You will find some fantastic choices for main dishes including the popular Black Angus Fillet, Teriyaki Salmon and Miso Black Cod.
Whilst they come with a slightly higher price tag, the quality was outstanding. Given how much I eat it at home, I do not usually order chicken when dining. However, the Korean BBQ Baby Chicken with bok choy, goma dressing & pickled ginger came highly recommended. Well we certainly were not disappointed. The chicken was so tender and moist with the goma dressing offering a lovely spicy kick. I genuinely looked forward to every mouthful which is exactly how it should be.
We were similar impressed with the Teriyaki Duck Breast with Wasabi Mash, sweet baby carrots & tempura chive. The duck was lean and flavoursome which makes a change from the fatty pieces we sometimes face at restaurants, The wasabi mash was a good accompaniment and not as spicy as we though (phew!).
We just about had room to share a White Chocolate Bomb. This was served with yuzu mousse, caramelized in apple and coconut and served with hot passion fruit sauce. I was too slow off the mark for a picture pre melting so apologies for the one below! The hot and cold textures always work well and the white chocolate and passion fruit compliment each other well. The crunchiness of the apple was also a lovely surprise.
We were so impressed with Circus Restaurant in Covent Garden! The cocktails were spectacular, the food was top notch and the service was lovely. The entertainment really makes this restaurant stand out from others. It makes a perfect date night and larger get together. I may actually investigate a dinner for my hen do!
G. G.
Great food (we had a wide variety of nibbles), great cocktails, great service and great performances - this is a solid 5/5

I went here a few years back and loved it. We went again last night. And still loved it. The staff are so nice and friendly.
This is a great place to meet friends for a few drinks and some entertainment.
B. T.
We were lucky to get an upgrade to the main table for our cousin's hen do. The performances were amazing, a lot of talent. The food was really lovely and the staff were welcoming, friendly and could not do enough for us, particularly Shay. A great evening!
R.
It was my first ever restaurant with a live show, so it was definitely a night to remember. Having said that, there wasn’t that many options on the menu for food, hence I had to force myself to get something I do not like! But overall good experience.
A. M.
Perfect! Enjoyed a great and vary dinner. Food and drinks were perfect. The performances were awesome too. Very entertaining!!
S. B.
One of the best place to eat with incredible middle eastern flavors. The cauliflower is excellent and recommend a kitchen bar stool to enjoy the chefs making the food in front of you. Really accommodating and welcoming staff all round to make the whole experience that extra special.
N. W.
Really enjoyed my time there. The bill was high however so is the quality of the food and cocktails.
The entertainment was fun to watch and a table to table entertainer was fun as well.
Will and do recommend this place.

We went to Circus for my birthday and they upgraded us to the main table which was nice of them. The food was very good with the sharing menu catering for the vegetarians so no complaints! The show was great and everyone enjoyed the night :-)

Amazing experience at Circus. There is no way to get bored in there... Always well entertained: incredible shows with talented artists and dancer. Perfect overall customer service. Very nice location and specially very good quality of food and and drinks. HIGLY RECOMMENDED
J. M.
Fun night out; Entertainment - 8, Music - 8, Food - 7, Service - 9, Price - Approximately £100 a head inc. some drinks; Worth a visit
J. B.
Good place for special night out with groups, we went for after work party, loud and hip vibe, great entertainment.

Great atmosphere. Manager is very personal and attentive. Food great. Highly recommend.

We went last nigh for dinner after having heard lots of positive feedback about this place. And I know why, now! Food is really nice (the vegetable tempura and the stake were amazing), and the environment is really fun but still classy! Cocktail menu is short and with some very unusual drinks on that! The two waiters at our table, Emanuel and Sergio, were super! Sergio even brought us a surprise dessert when I told him my boyfriend and I were there for our anniversary!! I would totally recommend the restaurant and the bar for cocktails. And I'll surely come back again!!!
S.
We had an amazing corporate night out at this restaurant. There were quite a few of us sitting at the main table, the food, circus acts and most especially the hostess were brilliant. A great night out.
A. R.
Wow oh wow...Circus is honestly one of most special, spectacular London dining experiences I have ever had; very up there as one of my favourite nights! All staff members from the moment we walked in to Antonio our waiter were super attentive and lovely. I went in not knowing about how the tasting menu worked, but was explained very well once we sat down, and the complimentary glass of Prosecco to begin was just delightful! The Asian food was incredible, so so yummy, the service and timing of each course was just perfect, and Antonio never faulted to be right there to fill up our glasses of Champagne too! The performances themselves were just incredible, very diverse talent which was great to see. We had front row seats as well. Even though the pricing of the tasting menu was not disclosed at all, I didnt care that it was a pricey meal, because we experienced phenomenal performances, amazing atmosphere and wonderful food, this is a really authentic place to dine, it's a must place to tick off your London dining bucketlist for sure.

HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR AN UNFORGETTABLE NIGHT!
I have dealt with quite a few managers for bookings and Ada is by a far mile the most amazing manager to deal with. We booked this for a 21st birthday and Ada ensured that everyone’s food allergies were accommodated for and made sure everyone was ok. This was an incredible night out - entertainment was amazing, food was impeccable and the service was 5*.
Staff go out of their way to make sure everyone is happy throughout the night.
Thank you to all the staff that served us that night- you were all incredible!!
**chicken is halal which is a great bonus too

Absolutely brilliant! We had an amazing night for my birthday last night. The service was fantastic. Our main waiter was so observant and on the ball. The food was delicious! We got the set menu as it was all so tasty and well cooked and so much of it!!! We booked the stage table as we were a big group and it was totally worth it! The shows were brilliant! And after wards they open up the whole area to make it a dance floor so we spent the rest of the night there! Definitely recommend Circus to friend again!!
S. A.
What an amazing restaurant, staff were friendly warm and the entertainment was 'hands down impressive '. Food was delicious and drinks were tasty too. I 100% recommended.
M. H.
Oh my goodness! Delicious, fresh food. I've found a new home. It was fantastic!
T. D.
Great Christmas doo here. Service was spot on even though they were full. Set menu was good quality and left me full and satisfied..
Cabaret was a bit too commercial for my liking but the crowd loved it.
Clean toilets
Very noisey
Happy days

I recently took my boyfriend to Circus for his Birthday as a surprise after hearing the great reviews.
We had the set menu which allows you to share a variety of dishes which we could not fault. The staff were attentive and worked very hard. I understand that this is a small and busy restaurant in the centre of London however it was a bit awkward that the staff were so pushy to move us off our table towards the end of the meal.
The acts were amazing and clearly very talented - we just wish they were a bit longer! It was nice that we were allowed to stay at the bar to catch a few more performers at the end of the meal.
I would definitely recommend this for a unique night out - not so much a romantic meal as it definitely has a club vibe (especially when the room fills with smoke!). It's a great place to celebrate with a group of friends or work colleagues.
J. L.
I was sceptical before arriving but I have to say the food was excellent and I really enjoyed the shows. Is it good value? Probably not, but as a one off or a treat I would definitely recommend. The shows are every half an hour or so and last a couple of minutes, but we're very well put together. The food was generally of a very high standard and they catered to my friend with allergies superbly. I'm sure you could find a restaurant with as good food for a cheaper price, however once you factor in the entertainment it is a restaurant worth visiting!
Z. M.
We had such a good evening here. Excellent atmosphere, good entertainment and really great service.
There was a mix up with the food so the general manager Ada removed all of it from the bill and gave us a complimentary bottle of Prosecco. As it was an allergy related mix up she also gave me her card and asked me to follow up with her. She was very professional and absolutely lovely.
100 Percent recommend for a different experience in London. Inexpensive too as we were there from 7pm - 10.30pm and spent £60 each. We would have spent much more if we’d just been out for drinks.
G. E.
Bit disappointed. At £90 per person excluding alcohol we expected more. Three 4min circus performances of mediocre quality combined with semi-decent food. Staff however were excellent and incredibly efficient. Would we go back? No. There are many places in London offering far better value for money. Pity.
L.
Visited recently and the place is incredible! Wonderful staff, the shows were perfect, food was tasty and loved the cocktails. Had a brilliant experience! Only reason for not giving 5 stars is because i agree on the fact that we all thought the price was a bit steep considering the meals were small and shows were very brief. However, one time experience that I won't forget!
L. O.
What an amazing place! Had the set valentines dinner for a table of 9 and every mouthful was delicious and entertainment Jaw-dropping. Service was fantastic and even though there was a mix up with the bill, the after service sorting this has been great. My parents can’t stop talking about the food- we’ll definitely be back! Thank you for such a special and memorable evening
S. A.
Nice place with a vibrant ambience and the some of the acts are really good. We went for a birthday dinner occasion. I would recommend getting a table near the bar so you don't have any time pressure as you can sit for longer than the allocated 2 hours but the service isn't that great. However, the food is very expensive for the quality served. I don't think its worth the value as we paid nearly 100 pounds without drinks for two. I would suggest going for drinks and enjoying some of the performances.
N.
Had a fab night here not too long ago. Did the tasting menu and stayed in the bar for a couple so caught the start of the next acts. So much food! So tasty, miso blackened cod was to die for!! Some acts better than others but a unique experience to anything I’ve been part of before.
Wish there were more bars like next door and would have appreciated a little more lighting while we were eating.
Moderately priced but I’d go back so that says a lot!
M. M.
Very disappointed...not worth it.
We paid 90 ukp for a meal without drinks and watched 3 acts lasting a couple of mins each. They did try. Rushed our meals so they could perform on our table. Personally in this day and age you would expect more. I really hope the acts got more than we did. Not sure what people see in this place maybe I missed something.
D. B.
I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. We felt the performances along with the food and drinks for the price did not disappoint. We had a fantastic time. I wish the waiters and waitresses wouldn’t move around during the performances.
t. m.
Went February of 2018 and again tonight. Quiet disappointed as the show is not a show anymore - 3 acts of 5 minutes each. The food is good but at £100 + per person you can eat in a lot nicer places.
L. L.
Amazing show, although shorter than expected, overall probably lasted half an hour, split into 4 or 5 slots between courses. Very good food (but not exceptional in my opinion), loved the choices of sake! Quite expensive (expect about £70-80 per person) but overall adequate for the dinner and show.
G.
Food was amazing. Performances ranged between very good and average. Unfortunately our waiter was too busy with such a large amount of tables to service which meant our service was very poor. Although I note other patrons didn’t have the same experience. I wouldn’t waste my money again.
t. o.
I really wanted to love this venue but its not reaching its full potential. The shows were pretty good but were too short considering the length of time between each. The service was mixed - professional but very slow to take your order and super slow bringing you drinks. But then food appears ridiculously fast. We over-ordered on starters so by the time mains came a minute after starters were cleared we were too full to enjoy the main. Sort out your timing!
Food itself was very good, except the Nagiri which should be avoided at all costs and the black cod which wasn't nice but was edible. Lobster tempura was very nice but the price unjustified as you are only paying for a truffle sauce and cant taste the lobster. Prawn tempura was excellent, as was crab salad. The fillet and the lamb chops were great.
I was told that the venue becomes a "club" from midnight so we booked a late dining table to enjoy the DJ and a dance after dinner. But it never happened. Was pretty empty by midnight (with no sign of any energy making it a place to keep drinking) and we eventually left to spend our money buying champagne at another venue. Would not have booked in the first place if I knew that the place is deserted by midnight as we wanted somewhere we could stay all evening.
B. D.
Amazing unforgettable night. Ada is amazing and her staff were top notch, very attentive and helpful. Food was delicious and in good portions too.
Entertainment was great fun. Definitely will be back.
J. A.
Good shows and good food. But I would take a child here
M. P.
Is it a restaurant or a bar? This place doesn't know what it is. The "circus" which is one 4 minute act every half hour is gimmicky at best and absolutely not what I expected from a place named "circus".
The set meal without drinks is £65 a head, starting rate!! and I'm sorry to say it really isnt anything special at all.
Deafening house music throughout the evening, so talking, and even hearing the waitress was actually hard work.
Too much smoke machine man! Tone that RIGHT down. It's horrible trying to eat with that going off.
I think the idea behind this place is a really good one but the way they have chosen to do it is pure pants.
Also, the toilets STANK!
D. W.
What a night!!
From booking to finishing the evening the staff here made my experience very easy!
The entertainment was phenomenal, food was fab!!!
Thank you for a wonderful night Circus team!!! My fiancee had a great birthday meal!!
We will definately be back again!
C. “. W.
Good food and exceptionally good cocktails. A good venue and friendly staff. Just didn't reach my expectations. 3 x performances which didn't last long. Loud music playing all the time so hard to talk as a group. Shame. It was almost there.
D. H.
Wow what an experience. Hidden from the main street (even the cabbie was confused) Once you're in you know this isn't going to be a normal dining experience, the lights and atmosphere give a lot away. The staff are attractive and dressed to impress or tantilise which seems to be the goal. The food is served and the lights dim. Then the main table becomes a stage and artists appear contorting, fire-breathing and dancing. It's a short set but then you don't want your food to get cold especially as it tastes great.
Great food, great atmosphere and a spectacular experience.
z. k.
Booked a table on my birthday to celebrate with family and have a special experience in London, oh boy they did deliver!!! The food was exceptional!!! Never had anything like it ( well, I don't usually eat at fancy expensive places =-) the artist were entertaining and the whole evening had such a wow affect on everyone. Very cleverly done...would definitely go again as a special treat at some point
J. W.
We booked the stage table for a 30th birthday celebration and booked the 4:30 pre theatre menu and I have to say it was outstanding from start to finish. Our server mattia (I think) was attentive and made me feel like absolutely everything was under control. Food was fantastic and very well pitched for a mixed crowd. There was 12 of us and every one of us enjoyed the full experience. The performers were sensational and quite frankly blew us away. Top marks, and would highly recommend. If you are looking for somewhere to take a mixed crowd for a celebration or event then this is definitely one of the best experiences in London.
E. K.
Went there as a celebration.
The food was tasty, even though overseasoned at times. Portions are rather small in size for the money, but good quality and very well presented, and had to keep reminding myself that the price also included the shows.
Cocktails are also on the expensive side (up to £10 a pop), but rather large and tasty, worth the money.
Had to wait for a long time for the first show, as they were waiting on some large Xmas party group to finally sit down. During the meal we managed to see two shows - a fire-eater and acrobat both good - as well as there were acts going between tables entertaining people in-between.
Acoustics in that place is annoying, very very loud, even when half-full.
Service was good and attentive, brought wrong drinks once (probably due to being unable to hear due to a lot of noise), which were promptly replaced.
Total came to about £170 for the 2, incl. 2 starters, 2 mains, about 4 drinks each and tip.
Would go again, even though would probably make a later reservation for maybe 8, rather than 1830.
J. P.
fun for an evening with a few friends or office get together but foot is expensive for what gets served it tastes nice but tiny portion sizes. As a bar this is really fun with good acts during the evening but wouldn't go again for food just drinks.
D. N. P.
Great entertainment. The food was extremely tasty. I have eaten in many spots across London, one of the best. Very good host , Remy will make your night enjoyable for sure. Service was spot on. Well worth the money for the experience in return.
Almost certainly going to return for another evening of excitement.
C. N.
Yes the food is slightly over priced, same as Zuma And Sushi Samba minus the entertainment! but it’s very tasty! I would have given 5 stars, however the “at least 3 acts over a sitting of 2 hours” were just that, only 3 of them. Great acts, just to short and far apart! Not every 20-30 min but every hour or so!☹️ For those complain that the lights switched off for the show when the food was served- it’s not called “circus” for nothing! You want a quiet, boring meal, not for you. This is an experience and a great concept. Definitely going again.😜
C. R.
Visited twice, both times enjoyed. It is pricey, indeed, but the food is quite a unique fusion, very tasty. I highly recommend king crab. Pleasant but not overwhelming selection of wines (never got my hands on cocktails – yet). Regarding the concept and the show – definitely smth different, at times enjoyable, but imho – bears the elements of low-class entertainment. If you're a foody, then you'd expect to enjoy the food when you go to a restaurant. If you're looking for a show – you're going elsewhere, not to a restaurant. Combination of these two is a bit too much, too explicit I'd say, however other people seemingly liked it and it can serve as a special treat if you're having someone unfamiliar with London as a guest and want to impress. (The lady that performs card tricks at the tables is a real charmer). Staff and service had been immaculate so far.

Impressive and funny show + Tasty Asian food + Friendly and engaging staff.
I recommend to stay longer for a couple of cocktails (they are good) and dance for a while after they remove the main table/stage and leave some space for the dance floor.
A very good place for group celebrations but not the romantic restaurant you might look for a date.
r.
Great place I enjoy coming here. The doorman Chris is very friendly and brings a very welcoming touch to one of London's hidden gems. The food here tastes great, the cocktails are amazing and the entertainment is fabulous I definitely recommend Circus to people looking for a great night out with a bit of edge.
T. L.
I've been here several times over the past few years and one thing I've noticed is that the food is constantly improving. The first time we went, we agreed that you paid for the entertainment, rather than the food but we on our most recent visit, we were pleasantly stunned by how good the food was. Whoever is responsible for the changes - bravo!
It's a brilliant restaurant! It's great for an intimate dinner for two or a large group of friends - the entertainment is fun, the toilets are always good for a giggle if you fancy watching the first timers and the cocktails always slip down far too easily. The staff are friendly, even when rushed off their feet. It's described to me by friends as "a novelty restaurant" due to the fabulous circus acts but I prefer to think of it as one of the few restaurants in London that bathes every one of your senses in luxury throughout the evening and leaves you feeling that you've just experienced something special and fun.
P. K.
Went there for a meal and night out with the girls. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time, the food was lovely and the cocktails amazing. It's not a cheap night out, but the atmosphere and circus acts are fantastic and good for an occasion.
V. B.
Average food. Nice show. Been here a few times, always for a company event so maybe it gets better when the place is not hired out for private functions as there's less pressure on the catering side of things. Would go back for the cabaret but not the food.
M. P.
Delicious food & delightfully entertaining! We were able to catch 3 acts throughout our dinner and we loved them all. Food was delicious and the service was wonderful! No pressure to buy or drink more at all. Already daydreaming about coming back!
J.
I first went here a few years ago and the acts were class, it became my go to to take my visitors to when showing them London. But the most recent visit was dissapointing, the performances were scarce. The dancing is your selling point, limiting its frequency does you no favours!
G. T.
Tasting menu at £65 is high-priced for what you get. There are sharing-plates brought out, and most were good. Edemame in ice, dim sum (prawn and pork), salad with a citrus dressing, beef with asparagus, salmon with a sweet glaze, steamed broccoli rice spears with soy sauce, and finally cheesecake with compote and exotic fruits on top. All fine but £65 was steep.
The 4-minute shows every 30 to 40 minutes did not, for me, make it "worth it". A woman twisted and hung on silks, and another twirled on a ring. Two men together performed faux-combat, and showed great strength and balance -- probably the most talented of the lot. And that was it -- the fourth act is the first one again, and so on.
Music was fine all night, except during the shows when it was laughably kitsch, and loud enough to demonstrate the limitations of the sound system.
The rosé and malbec wines were both very nice.
H. P.
A really fun evening. Service was outstanding- everyone smiling and friendly. The food was delicious (was surprised as I expected it to be not great with the focus on the entertainment).
A. C.
I'm not usually a fan of being interrupted whilst I'm eating, but at Circus it's for a very good reason. The atmosphere is something of a dark, sexy cabaret, with an electric atmosphere and the tables brimming full with Londoners. Every half-hour or so, the lights dim down as you're reaching for another bite and one of their many talented dancers/singers stand on the long table at the end of the room, and put on their act. I have to say, they are all nothing short of spectacular. Quite a pricey place but I imagine the whole dinner-and-a-show element is incorporated in the cost of the food and drink there.
A. H.
An enjoyable night out. Food was surprisingly good. Unusual cocktails. Book the stage table If possible where dramatic performances are enacted on your table between courses. The venue becomes a small club after the last seating with lively music although the DJ leaves something to be desired.
The venue is noisy & makes talking difficult. Better for large parties than an intimate tete a tete.
A. C.
Heard so many great things about this restaurant, great food, amazing circus acts and I now find myself raving about those same things. More expensive that most restaurants but for the quality food and amazing acts, it's well worth it. I suggest booking later in the evening so you don't have to give up to table for the next customers and stay as long as you want, enjoy as many acts as possible.
J. F.
Good service, food, & drink selection. Worth a visit & dress well.
E. K.
Amazing show while having a great diner. They serve mostly pan-Asian food (sushi, tempura, curry) but there was also steak on the menu. Watch some quality burlesque and aerial acrobatics while you eat. You have to take minimum a main dish and another course, but if you don't go crazy with drinks, it will cost around 40 pounds per person.
L. F.
Amazing atmosphere and real friendly staff! Shame we had to leave to miss the show but will be back.
A. G.
So much fun. The acts were great and entertaining, service was impeccable. And the food was superb with decent sized portions for quite an expensive place. The lighting is quite dark though so be mindful of that. On the whole its 10 out of 10
X. W.
This is one night out you're not going to forget in a hurry. I don't think I've ever left a restaurant/nightclub feeling so exhilarated before.
It's not often that you find a restaurant with a gimmick where the basics are done right too. Normally if you go somewhere with a show you expect the food to be just OK, with al the creative focus of the venue being spent on the central entertainment concept. Nor do you expect the drinks to be of any sort of high standard. And often, the entertainment itself is a bit half-hearted, or you leave feeling like you didn't really get your money's worth.
CIRCUS BREAKS THIS TREND.
Food - astoundingly good. I went with a large party and we'd pre-ordered what we wanted. I'd ordered the steak and it was perfect, and exactly how I ordered it. I wasn't expecting the kitchen to put out food of such high standard to such a large group of people on a busy night. The starters were all excellent pan-Asian blends of flavour too, and considering the execution of every person's meal in the venue has to be delivered faultlessly to coincide with the timings of the entertainment, this is remarkable.
Drink - I had a couple of cocktails to sample and then was on wine for the rest of the night. Both cocktails I had were well balanced in flavour and went very well with the pan-Asian food on offer. The wine was one that the hostess recommended and it went perfectly with the steak.
Service - Circus wins five out of five on the service alone. Seriously, I'm generally critical of quality of service, especially in London, and I was feeling very pessimistic about the level of service I'd get in Circus. I was wrong to be pessimistic. We had a hostess for our table who was jubliant, energetic and attentive to our needs. One of us spilled a drink and she had it cleared up with enthusiasm. Even when we left our table and headed to the bar she kept checking that we were all OK and happy. The rest of the staff were punctual and attentive, and again they have to work to very careful timings to deliver food and clear tables in perfect timing with the stage shows. During the shows, they even operate some of the stage lights or hold back curtains for the performers, so it's all very carefully executed. It's SO rare to find really good service in London, and it makes such a difference. Circus is where all the good waiting staff in London are working!
Entertainment - so this is the hook of Circus - you come to eat and drink, and between courses acrobatic entertainers perform various marvellous routines on top of (or above) the top table in the venue (wisely made from polished stone). We had balancing acts, spinning hoop routines (acrobatics around a large hoop hanging from the ceiling), and one jaw-droppingly talented hula-hooper. Seriously, he was amazing. You have to see him to believe it. Again, this is all executed in a small space on a table surrounded by seated guests. It makes you feel like you're dining with some world class circus entertainers and they're practising their big top routines between courses.
You have to go to this place. This is ideal for a date (perhaps not a first date), or for larger groups. You'll be talking about it for many years to come. It's probably Covent Garden's hottest dining venue right now. I love it.
B.
So much fun- expect a lively and entertaining show- and the food was very good too, but definitely book!
H. B.
I came to Circus on Saturday 26th May to celebrate my 30th with my friends, I honestly don't know where to start, we all had such a fantastic evening, the food was AMAZING the entertainment was AWESOME and then at the end of the acts they clear the space for dancing
People that are commenting on the service charge, I really don't know what you're complaining about, 1st its optional, we chose to pay ours because we thought the service was excellent, the staff were brilliant, spent lots of time with us giving tips on the great dishes to try
And people saying min £70 per head?! really, my evening cost £50 for food and drinks and we weren't on the £50 menu and I had 3 courses
I will definitely be going back!
T. M.
Amazing show, one that you don't see very often. I came here with a friend of mine just to spend the night and have a different than usual experience but this might become a habit. The food is great and the staff is really kind.
S. D.
This cocktail bar is really peculiar. Maybe you won't notice it easily from the outside, but when you get in you realize in which amazing and alternative world you entered, which shows and entertainment. Due to this though, it's really exclusive and cocktails and food are quite pricey. I would suggest to try it at least once if you're in London!
V. D.
Cirque acts such as acrobats and fire breathers performing while you eat. Food is average and the prices are extortionate for the amount you pay for. You pay more for the location and venue if anything.
B. C.
Took my grandson to this place for his birthday, absolutely beautiful so many flavours and the staff take care of you! Thanks!
R. M.
Had a great time. Food was great, atmosphere was brilliant and so was the entertainment. If you want to try something a bit different I would highly recommend. Thanks for a great night to the circus team
D. M. G.
Food was really nice and 2/3 performances were rather good as well. It can be a hit and miss though and the place is so loud that you can't actually have a conversation with more than one person, so not that great for groups. Probably better for dates to be honest.
S. B.
Door staff were extremely professional and we were looked after by our two Italian waiters very well. Thank you!
N. M.
A must visit as this bar / dinner place is one of it’s kind..
A brilliant group of perform artists while you sip some fine cocktails & also serving food around.
A bit pricey though..
J. K.
New menu at Circus is great - tried a LOT of the dishes - Loved them all but particularly the Queen Scallops and Black Cod. Our waiter, an Italian guy was excellent and the acts were really very good.
J. H.
You can enjoy many amazing performances there. The food is also good and I recommend you to try it. The cocktails are prepared carefully by professionals. Just take enough money with you and you will have an excellent dining experience.
J. C.
I was suprised by the standard of food from being creative to tasting good. The downside was during our 2 hr seating we were rushed like manics to order and they didnt serve the food to the person ie placed everything in the middle. Also only 3 performances during our stay. Great place to entertain guests.
H. D.
It's lovely to know there is a quirky restaurant in London that also has good food. And even better it has good vegetarian options. The shows are energetic and fun. I would really recommend.
S.
Cloakroom girl kinda rude.....then waitress didnt explain menu very well, order was wrong...then some came late had to chase??? Left last bit as was only rice and broccoli...as its tasting menu it should all come 2gether? Show was amazing though..once only 4 experience but ok not brilliant....
S. F.
Certainly worth a visit but could have been better. Be prepared for quite a restrictive ordering choice (you're forced to order at least one starter and main and some items arent considered starters), but once you've ordered the food is very tasty and the entertainment is fun, though could have been more impressive and frequent.
Not sure i'd go back as it's a bit of a novelty but I enjoyed my night there.
T. S. L.
When you want a unique dining experience a visit to Circus in Covent Garden fits the bill nicely. The place opened in 2009 with father and son, Trevor and Adam’s, shared vision to serve great food alongside, as the name suggests, a spectacle extravaganza. In between courses, cooked under the guise of Head Chef, Andrew Lassetter, hoola-hooping, cabaret, aerial acts and more strut their talents along the restaurant’s main dining table....
To find more unique and independent places why not visit the Twenty Something London website!
G. L. P.
Bring out the big top, The Circus Bar is in town. This restaurant, bar and cabaret show is the sort of ménage-a-trois you can get away with; a surrealist den designed by the ringmaster Tom Dixon, of Paramount Bar and Bombay Sapphire pop-up bar fame. The space odyssey banqueting hall is slick and special.
Drop your jaws and drop your spectacles. It’s decadent. It’s glam. It’s an otherworldly hideaway near Covent Garden. Going to show that modern need not mean mundane, this is a kitschy cocktail of 31st Century style that works. There are hoops, kaleidoscopic mirrors, flamingo table legs, dancing poles, fire-eating ballerinas, burlesque dancers and more - each night the lights dim as you eat and drink and a spectacular show takes place on the thirty-foot ‘stage table’ (note to self, you know you’re in for a treat when you’re table doubles up as a stage). Oh and did we mention the delicious, pan-Asian cuisine?
Thanks for the tip off: Hilary Clemens.
T. D.
Visited for a work function so not a normal night however canapes were good quality and the performances provided good entertainment. Low ceilings created very bad acoustics however unlikely to be as big an issue when running normally.
D. M.
This place is the best! The food is delicious (i had the steak and it was the best steak ive had since coming to london so far) and the entertainment is awesom. There is a bar inside as well so you can just go in for a few drinks if you dont feel like eating. The interior decor is gorgeous too! I definatly want to go back.
P. C.
What an excellent night had by all in our group, we had front seats so close to the entertainment and the entertainment came to you (perhaps because I was wearing polka dots). Food was excellent also, defo come to this place again. Great night!
D. V.
Everything about this place is amazing. Food 10 out of 10. Experience of cabaret dancers was top class. Staff service is ideal. Loved it!
P. G.
We were on the main table and right in the action. The food was a set menu on this table because the acts perform on it. The acts were good, but not spectacular but the food and evening overall was amazing.
C. F.
I had a great time. I wish we had longer at our table tough
G. T.
Super cool, super entertainment, super food and super drinks. Came here with little expectation but ended up staying for most of the night watching the live entertainment and drinking fabulous cocktails at the bar. Desperate to go here again!
A. R.
Food was amazing and each and every act was INCREDIBLE. Big appreciation for our qaiter; Ben. He was lovely and so on top of everything would recommend do everyone for a once in a life time night out
B. V. H.
This restaurant has a special and quirky concept with live performances during your meal. Broad selection of cocktails and perfect menu for sharing food.
D. Y.
Great food, great service, great cocktails. Shame about the show - not half as impressive as I had hoped. Although did have some highlights
J. S.
The food is awesome, the ambience is awesome, and the entertainment is awesome. This place couldn't be undersold! its a really cool place to have a casual-special dinner with friends!
R. A.
"Free" circus type acts throughout the evening. Decent grub and cocktails..But is hard on the wallet and I'm not sure the quality of fare is commensurate with the price 😕
H. G.
Great fun, really good food and very rapid service. I expect once you've done it once you'd have to wait a while for the show to change to make it worth coming by again.
C. J.
Pricey but the food was okay. Need a better starters selection. Brilliant performances. Was a good one time experience with hubby and friend's.
B. W.
Didn't have the wow factor I wanted, not as much glitz and glamour, felt rushed and when the food was served the lights went out for the performance. Food was nice.
T. M.
Food was good but, the portion sizes were awful for the prices q2 2018. Better decor and show is needed.
P. S.
Good food, good service, great show. A very different experience. Would recommend this as a great place to visit as a group.
F. S.
Excellent experience..food was amazing and what I would come back for! Ambiance and service were great as well!! All in all a wonderful evening!
M. V.
I loved this place, I was on the main table where the acts perform, and it was a really great experience. Heaps of fun

Not very Circusy. Think Burlesque meets dance. Food OK.
L. W.
It's okay here, the performances were interesting and novel for a bar, but the vibe is sort of odd and leaning toward tacky.

(Translated) Nice place. Fun and well done shows. The dinner was not up to par. We were unable to order à la carte despite having specifically requested it in the booking. We were forced to accept the sharing menu which we did not like, we asked to avoid coriander in the dishes but it was not possible. Too bad because it would have been a perfect evening with a proper dinner! You cannot impose the menu when the price is so high! If you pay a lot, you expect an adequate dinner and mainly you want to choose what to eat!

Bel posto. Spettacoli divertenti e ben realizzati.

(Translated) Being a group we had the sharing menu which is very abundant and delicious. The show was very good although excessively short, in that sense I found it disappointing because you are supposed to be paying for a dinner with a show, and in fact the prices are high, but in reality the show lasts between 10-15 minutes at the beginning, and others 10-15 minutes at the end.

(Translated) It is one of the best restaurants in London, they make shows, take great care of the aesthetics and have incredible dinner. The kitchen has an incredible quality that is a restaurant for extroverts because movement and action are present all the time. It has a cocktail area that is cool because whenever you eat dinner you fancy a drink especially if it is a Saturday and there you can do it and above with extreme quality. That if you pay!
