Reviews of Cut + Grind

Great spot to eat!
It was pretty quiet when we visited but service was excellent.
Food was delicious - had the classic and friends had the veggie option, all had a side of truffle mayo (the most generous portion ever) and popcorn halloumi (shared between two, would definitely recommend).
£24 each (a burger, drink and side to share) which was pretty good value especially considering the portion sizes! Would definitely recommend.

Delicious burgers, a hidden gem. Surprised this place isn't packed. They've won awards for best burgers. One of my favourite spots in London! Get the broccoli on the side, the sauce is amazing
E. B.
Had the coq and bull burger with sweet potato fries and an oreo shake. I can see why it's won best burger of 2021, it's meaty, well cooked and the bone marrow gives it richness.

I would go here again. The most impressive aspect of the burger was the patty itself. Very high quality beer used and the dry aged taste really cut through nicely. Staff were friendly and attentive and we didn't wait long for our food. Only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is the price - Around £12 for a burger and £18 for a double (maybe i'm just cheap). However it wound't put me off going again!
P. V.
Very quiet compared to other places, probably because it's tucked away behind?! One member of staff was working so maybe it was just as well. Ordered the miso aubergine burger which was absolutely to die for! Even if you aren't vegan, you'll like it! It's a bit messy but very worth all the mess! One drink didn't arrive and it was also added to the bill, but the waitress removed it once we put it to her attention. Overall, maybe rethink the ambiance a little, otherwise very tasty burger. Would go back for that.

Really interesting restaurant.
The first time we visited, we were served the best burger we had ever eaten. And it wasn't difficult to see why, the beef was literally cut fresh that day, and ground down for your personal burger. The cooking time was absolutely "spot on" with the perfect pink middle. The burger could not have been better.
However, we visited again a few month later, and were left disappointed. After, having thought about it, we decided it was because even though the burger was very good again, the bar had just been set too high the first time.
Regardless, it's still the best burger we've ever eaten (from the first visit), and we will be going for our third attempt in the foreseeable future.

These guys do the best burgers in town. Everyone I’ve taken here has been impressed. There’s also plenty of options for veges and vegans too! The scoop fries are great too - and lovely service to top it off. As it’s a longer walk from kings X than most of the nearby restaurants, it can be quite quiet in the week, but it is absolutely worth a visit!
L. M.
Delicious burger in an industrial looking restaurant playing good tunes. Overall very good vibes would be interested in visiting again. Was slightly empty but at no fault of their own as service/ burger/ venue was all great.
M. م.
This place has a lovely ambience and in a good location. I had a halloumi burger which was very delicious and the fries were yummy. I had to pay for your spicy mayo sauce which went well with my meal. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I 100 recommend and will visit again soon ♡

Cut & Grind, whilst a little out of the way, is extraordinary. The craft that has gone into the development of their food, and the improvements I've seen over the three trips I've made there in the last year and a bit are extraordinary. The burgers are creative without being indulgent, the meat is high quality, cooked to perfection. The new v shaped fries are light and fluffy with a crisp, perfectly seasoned exterior. This trip, I tried the Radical Vegan burger, possibly the most capable meat alternative I've tried (much better than both the beyond burger and the moving mountains burger). They've given it a crispy crust which makes the faux meat experience more convincing whilst adding a rather lovely textural contrast. The vegan cheese is melty and again - convincing. And the mustard, pickles and salad add a perfect balance alongside a soft but sturdy shiny vegan bun. Glorious.

On a recent business trip to London a local friend took me here and I must say we quite liked it. First of all, staff was super friendly and helpful and, most important, our burgers were absolutely delicious. Order the truffle fries and you will love them too.
M. S.
Beef burgers are a must here! Meat was pink and juicy, burger sauce complimented it so well and the homemade sweet pickles were a really nice touch. Fries were decent, bbq wings were good but the no-mayo coleslaw was disappointing. Very chill atmosphere and simple/clean decor. Service was not great--the staff stayed behind the counter for most of our meal. We had to go up to the counter twice to inquire about a missing side and to get a dessert menu. Great value for money if you come with a tastecard!
L. Z.
Curious little place.
Burger came medium rare without asking, but it was just perfectly cooked.
Be warned though, the Beef Brave is a party in a bun with burger sauce. For lettuce and onions you have to pay extra, £1 each, in quick case you're better off going for a classic!
The sides all appear to be worth a try, my ribs, corn and wings all arrived not very warm though, but still tasty.
Definitely worth a try - if your in the area.
V. Y.
Service was great and the food tasted really good. The chicken burger was slightly overcooked but no biggie.
The service was really good, friendly, and COVID friendly as well.
Knocked off a star because the loo facilities were a mess even though the place was not busy at all.
Also, all the food was served on paper plates and with plastic wear. Not sure if this was for COVID or as a “character statement”. Regardless I’d suggest they ditch it. If it’s a statement its killing the environment and if its for COVID then just wash the plates really well like everyone else 🤷🏻♂️
J. P.
A very flavourful burger with fluffy with chips with a decent crispness. The chargrilled broccoli was super though, warm, buttery, a little spice and soft. The slaw was acidic so helped with the fattiness. It is definitely worth a visit if you want a good burger.
C. K.
This is an excellent burger place. One of the best, if not the best, burger I have had in London. I previously thought that honest burger was the best burger I have had in London. On balance I think cut + grind has the better burger but that the fries are better in honest burger.
You should definitely try this place if you are at King's Cross (10 minute walk). The restaurant is big so it was easy to get a table. The service was good too.
K. N.
There's a reason why this place won the National Burger Award for 2018. Using only prime cuts of beef and grinding it all in-house, the result is juicy burgers cooked to perfection with an array of sauces to create your perfect burger.
Don't fancy the special burger sauce? How about the truffle mayo. You get the idea. Then came the sides and oh my goodness, they were incredible. The wings are glazed in sweet chilli / BBQ was crispy and flavourful, and the fries with truffle mayo and parmesan cheese were to die for. And the broccoli was outstanding. Here me out. It's mahoosive and covered from top-to-bottom in this incredible buttery sauce infused with garlic, chilli and anchovies. Honestly, one of the best thing and this is coming from a meat-eater.
Every month, they have a special item on the menu so you can expect to find something new each month.
It's easy to get to King's Cross station and housed within a student accommodation so you can expect a student vibe.
Honestly, come here for the burgers, it should be a mecca for those who love the patty. It's 5/5 for the food if only the interiors were a little more slick, then Cut + Grind burgers would get a perfect score.
S. B.
Seriously of the best burgers I've ever had. And now they have a curbside collection you don't even need to get out of the car. They bring your order out to you. Highly recommended 🍔🍔🎉
k.
It's a two bus stop ride from Kings Cross (390 bus), or a 15 minute walk. The burger was excellent. The onion rings make a chage from the large rings that usually get served up elsewhere. The fries were super crispy. Also has a vegan option that will please. Overall very pleasing.
**Update** I've since been back. My son had the Vegan option and he loved it. The fries were cooked in vegtable oil, the onion rings are not Vegan (so I was informed). I had a sinlge patty burger this time. But I should say the double I had on my first visit was more memorable.
M. M.
Good burgers an nice staff. Beers could be better though.
J. S.
Burgers here are flavourful, beefy and perfectly cooked. Deserving of their National Burger Award Winner status for 2018. The patties are welcome seasoned and taste of quality cuts and are cooked to an equally high standard.
Value wise Cut + Grind are also ahead of the competition in that prices include fries (a solid accompaniment if not the best in the biz). Sides are decently portioned but don't expect to be served mountains of food. We ordered the chicken wings and whilst crispy on the outside, could have done with more sauce. Presentation was nice and the sesame seeds gave added texture. Their coleslaw is not really a traditional coleslaw but this is dependent on your tastes.
Staff service can be a bit slow (only 2 in front lf house) but seemingly it doesn't get too busy at the moment (ate on a Saturday evening). Decor is clean and modern.
It was only after we ate that we found out that (at time of writing Aug 2018) that they accept tastecard giving you 2 for 1 (not available on Fridays or Saturdays).
A. V.
Amazing burgers! I think it has been the best burger I have ever tried before. I am giving 4 stars because the attention from the staff service could improve in my opinion. Maybe more staff would be beneficial.
P. A.
Really good burgers but the whole place was being run by one waitress (bless her) on a friday night!
B. N.
Food was epic for meat eaters and vegans! All very happy with the meal. The service was awesome, great banter and attentive. Would highly recommend 👌
Y. C.
The best beef burger in London, you will remember the great taste and wanna go back every few months. We had a company lunch here, everyone loves it.
Please go for juice option +fries.
I've been here 3 times, the first time I was amazed by how delicious a beef burger can be . Fries also passed the test, I got a list of good chips&fries in my mind, this is on the list and in top 3 !
Second time I tried chicken burger, to be honest a bit disappointed, they use deep fried chicken (fillet?) , It's dry and taste like the frozen one you get in Iceland.
Chicken wings , truffles fries, hallumi fries are less impressive but if you got a big group, they are ok as sharing plate.
Drinks : Oreo milk shake taste nice, it will be better if less sweet. Strawberry banana smoothy taste doesn't like fresh smoothy, very weird, taste like cheap chemical strawberry juice. the only explanation I can think of is they did wrong order...
Overall, I'll still give 5 stars despite other dishes because the beef burgers and fries worth it ! Definitely recommend to all my friends.
E. L.
Burgers were top notch, especially the Home made pickles. Sides were nothing to write home about though and atmosphere was a little quiet for a Saturday night. Service could have been more attentive also as we had to walk up to the counter a couple of times for service.
G. W.
The burgers tasted good, milkshakes where great, chips and homemade ketchup really made a difference. If you are in the area, this is certainly not somewhere to pass by without a quick bite to eat, and the service was fast and efficient.
There where no issues with the food, and they did well when my girlfriend asked for no bun because she is ceolic and it was presented very nicely as you can see in the photos.
Overall it was a pleasurable experience. I also noted that they had clearly listened to customer feedback here, as they asked if we were OK with medium cooked beef, whereas previously others have stated this was not asked. So that's a real positive.
I have a little feedback too, it'd be nice if when someone asks to take away their food, the kitchen could sort this out, rather than be handed a box and be expected to do it at your table.
The temperature was a little cold in there, I think you may still have the aircon on.
The toilet... It's clean, well stocked, but this is something that really winds me up, you've put the sensor for the flush right in the middle behind, so you're sitting on the toilet and it sets the flush off. Please have someone come and move it to the side so it's not easily set off.
Overall, this is one of the top burger places in King's x, but I have to say Honest Burher remains number 1, in my opinion.
J. M.
Really great burgers - including an award-winner - decent selection of drinks, and a chilled out ambience. Had a fun time and would definitely go back for more!
J. C.
Now this is a top tier burger. Excellent quality meat, great balance of flavours. The bun is strong enough to hold together without impeding you. For £11 you can get the House burger (which comes with crispy bacon among the standard toppings) and it's served with a generous portions of fries cooked in beef dripping. I highly recommend this burger, however there's a single downside. The location of the restaurant is a bit odd. Not especially near to any stations.. or really anything else for that matter. But it's worth the trip.
E. H.
3rd visit: Got to be one of the best burgers in town and the wine list is well chosen too, try a glass of the house Shiraz. They really care about quality and preparation. Go visit and enjoy!
M. F.
The quality of the patty was fantastic and the rest of the meal was fine. Execution on the burger could’ve been better but the fries were excellent. Milkshake was far too sweet and the service was lacking. Expensive for what you get as a meal, overall experience was mixed.
R. S.
Burger wise, I would say it's on my top list now! I had a Juicy Classic. The meat really was very juicy. It's stuffed but not too much, so it's still can be eaten without a mess. Another very important thing to highlight is their homemade tomato sauce! It was superb! I never like to add ketchup to my meal, but somehow that time my bf added the tomato sauce (which I thought it was just an ordinary ketchup), then he was amazed at his first bite and told me how amazing it was. So I gave it a try, and it was sooo good. I can taste the real tomato with some special taste.
However, why do I only give 4 stars? The minus 1 star was from the service. We sat near the bar where the staffs were and they were chatting loudly to each other not in a very good manners (I think they were arguing about something or that was just the way they talk?). Well, anyway, whatever the reason was, it's definitely not a good thing and doesn't look professional at all (even in a casual restaurant) for people who are working at the frontline to behaving that way.
So, if you only want to eat a nice burger, then this is the place. But perhaps sitting far from the bar would be the best. Otherwise, you would have to watch a kitchen drama. 😅
L. H.
Amazing burgers, every day there are different cuts of meat in the burger, so well worth going back to see what you get.
J. B.
5 star burgers with super tasty and delicious meat (which is ground on site, they even display the cuts in a fridge), pretty good chips cooked in beef fat, portions are big, staff is friendly and attentive.
Price: £30 for 2 burgers and chips + a pint of house draught beer + service charge
M. B.
One of the best burgers I've had in London, so good! The parmesan fries go perfectly with the black garlic aioli dip too. Lots of competition in the local area, but cut and grind still shines.
R. A.
My burger was so damn delicious. I had a juicy with stilton. The rum Oreo milkshake was very strong, I think I’d just get Oreo next time.
G. B.
I love this place, the staff are brilliant , they always have good coffee ready,
They take time to know you and what you like.
The burgers are second to none. The meat is visible in fridge so you know its fresh,
Great service
Great food
Bring back the Ruben is all il say guys A☆☆☆
B. I.
Frankly speaking it was disappointing. They know how to "cook" their burgers to perfection. It had an amazing crust, was juicy but NO seasoning whatsoever. It was so bland felt like they ran out of salt pepper. The wings were proper crispy but could've been hotter. The fries were quirky in terms of shape, tasted like..well potatoes..could've been better with some Fajita seasoning or a bit more salt.
H. H.
Amazing service, life-changing food, and gender neutral toilets. This place ticks all my boxes, will definitely be back! 🍔
D. L.
Nice enough burger place. Prices differ to website. Burger was tasty as were the chips.
I. S.
Great burgers, really great chips. The ketchup is exceptional. Would be nice to have a couple other beers on tap.
B. J.
I found this place on a busy Friday night where without a reservation it’s hard to really pin down somewhere for dinner; nicely located it’s a short walk from Kings Cross station and well worth taking the scenic route to get to, the staff are super attentive and really make an effort to ensure you’re comfortable and catered to. As someone with social anxiety it’s important for me to feel comfortable in places where I spend my time without feeling too overwhelmed and this place has a great balance of being cosy without feeling like you’re being sat on by the patrons at the next table, the music provides a really relaxed but with a bit of life to it vibe and its very unpretentious menu gets straight to the point and provides you with a fantastic choice of food and drinks alike. The pilsner is so worth trying. I think I’ve found a new favourite for when I’m in the area.
J. B.
Super nice staff, loved the vegan miso burger.
M. G. R.
Great atmosphere, and the staff were attentive and did their job. The food was great, and their Halloumi fries were super delicious. They cooked our burgers perfectly (medium-rare) and we thought it was cool that you could choose how your burgers were made. It is a little expensive, but you pay for what you get and we felt it matched what we ate. I’d usually give 4 stars, but the staff just need to be a bit more lively and a little faster. Maybe it was just a long day for them! I’d definitely come back again if I was in the area. If you want something yummy I’d recommend.
m. h.
Came here for steak night and really enjoyed the cool industrial vibe! Will have to come back for a burger some time as they looked incredible
J. F.
Ordered through Uber Eats 22/3. Both the burger and chips were stone cold. They weren't adequately packed for travel - just in cardboard boxes/paper bags. The 25 minute delivery time may have contributed. This place needs to improve it's packaging. No joy from Uber Eats when I complained, hence this post.
Both the burger and chips were delicious once I'd reheated them in the oven, especially the crispy chips.
l.
The classic award winning burger was 6 stars. Hands down great burger.
The franks buffalo sauce wings were great (let's be real: any restaurant who uses Franks Red Hot sauce was always going to be legit!). But the batter is a little thick - so warning, if you're used to more of a grilled or peri peri wing.
The fried chicken sandwich with cole slaw was a bit disappointing (hence the 4 stars instead of 5). The chicken coating wasn't super flavorful, it was also thigh (I personally prefer breast) & the cole slaw soaked into the meat making it a little soggy. I'd rather have it on the side.
Go for the burgers & wings though! Hoping they'll make another fried chicken breast + cheese option :)
S. H.
This place is so good. I realise how weird this sounds but…. I still think about the first time I had the broccoli, never mind the burgers. A bit out of the way but 100% worth the visit.
J. S.
Best burger I've ever had! Ordered a bacon cheeseburger a few times and it's been unreal every time. The v-cut fries are also some of the best fries I've ever had. Cut + Grind is a must for anyone serious about burgers.
G. M.
Nice place, but for the price you can get better massage elsewhere, dont get me wrong it was good but not great.. Not much in terms of facilities
A. B.
I love this place. Often quiet as it's a bit further to walk but the burgers are great and the service is friendly. I'm definitely going to become a regular!
L. W.
These burgers just don’t challenge the better places.
It photographs well but the 4 of us agreed the burger lacked flavour and seasoning. They were happy to cook med-rare but didn’t get any char on the meat. Couldn’t taste the cheese either, just a bit bland.
However the chips were absolutely next level, the staff were lovely and the prices fair.
I wouldn’t have been so let down but they’re claiming best burger in the UK and it’s not close to the best in London.
F. Z.
Great burgers and the accompanying fries are even better
G. S.
I had a Classic burger which was £11 with fries - menu on website says £10 - not a big deal, but worth noting. The website also makes it look like you need a reservation, which you don't. We walked in and were seated immediately.
The burger is so meaty and tasty. Loved the pickle and sauce, although it did mask the meat a little. Fries were great, they were cooked in beef dripping, but I think thicker chips would make that trademark taste more obvious
I have to commend the staff who were friendly and almost instantaneous from order to the food coming. Just brilliant!!
Water is served in squat glasses (odd) and the water bottle means you spill every time you pour. But that's nit-picking, this place is great. On the fringes of Coal Drop Yard, seek it out.
J. L.
One of the best burgers I've tried in London. It's a bit out of the way being a 15 minute walk from Kings Cross but it is well worth it. Fantastic food, great service and a good selection of beers on tap. My friends who had the halloumi vegan burger had nothing but good things to say either. Give this place a try!
P. D.
The best broccoli I've ever had. The burgers were fresh and very juicy.
A. D.
Alle gave us a fantastic service today, explained the menu perfectly and was so warm and friendly from the moment we stepped through the door. What an absolute legend!
Food was delicious as expected. Still my favourite burger spot in London. Chicken burger was crispy and succulent. Got a banging vanilla shake to wash it down. Everything was super reasonably priced.
With my new loyalty card I will 100% be returning to cash in on my weekly cheat meals and special occasions with mates.
A. A.
Really good burgers and sides here! Definitely double up. The halloumi fries and popcorn halloumi are worth getting too.
B. G.
Amazing food! We had classic (single and double), C+G,B+C, miso aubergine burgers, v-cut fries (normal & angry harissa), and Frank's red hot crispy chicken wings. The burgers (all of them!) were some of the best we've ever had, wings excellent, and the fries pretty good, but even better thanks to the amazing homemade ketchup (cinnamon???). Best restaurant for mixed vegie/meat eater groups ever.
M. G.
Best burger I've had in London. Almost as good as steak and honour in Cambridge which is unquestionably the best burger in the UK. If you know, you know. Very good quality meat which you can really taste. Very clean. Delicious! Next time it'll be a double. Great chips too (better than steak and honour's I must say)
A. I.
Absolutely delicious burgers! I always have a great time. The burgers are delicious (the juicy classic is my favourite), the venue is great, it has excellent music, the staff are super friendly, and all for a great price! The triple cooked fries are incredible. Hands down the best burger joint in London!
M. T.
With so many burger places everywhere in London you wouldn't be blamed of becoming a bit cynical when you hear of another craft burger place that is a must try. However I can honestly say that their burgers are very tasty indeed. I was very pleasantly surprised at how tasty and juicy the burger was the fries were very good as well (always a bonus!). There are no frills just very good food at very reasonable prices.
The staff were so friendly and accommodating that I can honestly not fault this place at all. We went for food and some drinks with the idea of going for more drinks somewhere else but we loved the service and atmosphere so much that we ended up staying there all night drinking. Will definitely be going back soon.
C. P.
Great service, good food, sensible price. Recommend the vanilla milkshake!
S. B.
Great food, quick service, clean and modern setting
M. F.
We visisted last night after coming across this place online - was left completely speechless - far and away the BEST BURGER I have ever eaten in my life. I've spent quite a bit of time in the states and this beats anything I've had before easily.
We ate the Classic Juicy burger - the beef is cut and ground on the day, so you know you're getting the freshest beef. The meat is juicy fall apart in your mouth, the sauce is just right, and the bun is excellent too. Even the fries are pretty good.
Shame we don't live nearby or we'd be visiting regularly, can't believe how empty the place was (even though it was a Monday night). Many thanks to the young guy who served us too - super friendly, the type of service I'd love to receive in every food joint.
B.
I like a good burger. Last time I was in London I hit up a couple places with big recommendations, both where expensive, one didn't even have its namesake on the menu.
Then I found Cut+Grind on my way to another appointment. I checked the menu and was shocked to find I wouldn't need to take out a small loan to have burger N' chips in London.
The staff are all very pleasant, nice place (if a little generic. Subway tile, fake wood, that sort of look). The menu is simple and explained (two patty choices, Juicy or Skinny.
The burger, is great. Its a good solid burger. Juicy, a tad fruity. Its just really damn good. Good chips, near perfectly salted. They even do their own tomato sauce.
Give them a go. Its tippy top stuff.
J. J.
The burgers were really tasty - lovely meaty/juicy patties and I was even able to have mine prepared rare. The pickles were a treat. The location is a little out of the way and therefore it’s a bit quiet and lacks in ambience.
R. R.
Great burger and a decent gluten free bun. Service was good too
A. B.
I went there for first time today because I heard a lot of people talking about it. Although it's a bit remote from the trendy side of king's cross, it's worth the extra walk.
The burgers are amazing. You can really taste good beef because they don't mess too much with the burger by adding too much sauce or add-ons.
The fries are cooked in beef dripping which gives a better taste than vegetable oil (in my opinion)
Finally to top it of, their aoili sauce made with black garlic...So good!
I would have taken a picture of my burger but it disappeared too quick...
J. G.
Good food, nice atmosphere (we were in for a late lunch, small group). Burgers were tasty and reasonably priced. Don't get overly excited about the fries, because whilst they are nice the beef dripping doesn't add much. The non-alcohokix drinks are very refreshing. Overall I would recommend and revisit if I were in the area.
Special Shout out to the ketchup. Not sure if it's home made or Not, but very tasty.
R. T.
Easy to taste why the classic juicy burger won 2018 National Burger of the Year award. Freshly ground mince cooked perfectly, the pickles were particularly tasty and all reasonably priced with fries. Staff were pleasant and genuine. Location slightly out of the way though once the area is completely developed it will fit right in. I will be back to take a 📷
S. D.
Food was delicious 😋 great service, nice quite, chilled atmosphere.
Popcorn Halloumi... 😍😍 I'll be back lol
B. F.
We came here with a group of friends and there was unanimous agreement that these were some of the best burgers any of us had ever had! Not only that, all the sides are delectable, unusual and very well thought-out. Halloumi fries anyone? Also, as a non-vegan, the vegan burger sounded too good to be missed and I was not disappointed! From friendly and accommodating staff, a relaxed vibe, great baby changing facilities and superb food and drinks - it’s very clear that a lot of thought has gone into every detail at C+G! Go!
C. L.
Excellent. Some of the best burgers I have ever had (no joke... they are legit). Our server, Jack, was super eager and a great host.
Ate here multiple times (close to my sister's flat) and was never disappointed. Who could be with food THAT good?
L. C.
Best burger in town in my opinion. The meat is so juicy, pickles and sauce are excellent and the assembly is on point. Chips are cooked in fat dripping which gives them an amazing taste. 100% recommend.
J. G.
A little bit off the beaten track in Kings X, but well worth the effort. Casual setting with great burgers, perfectly cooked and juicy with tasty sides, been here a few times and the staff have always been really great. We'll be back!
F. S.
They have one vegetarian and one vegan burger on the menu. We had the vegetarian one that was fairly good. The fries were the right kind of crispy. The black garlic aioli sauce was average. The service wasn't great. There was no one around for a long time when we walked in, and we had to get up and walk to the bar to ask for stuff.

I tend to have the same attitude to burgers as I do to coffee: I can easily taste the difference between cheap stuff and better stuff but after a certain level it all basically tastes the same to me. Blah blah hand ground Guatemalan beans, blah blah sour dough brioche buns.
So it is with a mixture of amazement and sheer delight that I can report that Cut + Grind completely blew me away! They basically only do two burgers a day, Skinny (for weirdos) and Juicy (for everyone else) which are comprised of two or three chosen cuts of meat, hung, aged and then ground in house.
You then have three versions: with home made sauce and salad, as above but with cheese added, and then the sweetest version of all, with bacon and tomato.
I'm not kidding: this is the best burger I've ever eaten in London. One bite was enough to put a huge grin on my face as I tasted every single flavour: the depth of the beef, the slight sweetness of the sauce and the perfectly crispy bacon all dissolved in my mouth in gloriously beefy, cheesy harmony. The flavours just lingered in my mouth for ages after I'd finished and I don't remember feeling as satisfied by a burger since I was a kid!
I went with my two children and there wasn't a single sound out of either of them until they'd finished every crumb, which is about as high praise as it's possible to give. They both agreed that these were some special burgers. Even my wife, who isn't naturally a burger fan, said it was the best she'd eaten.
So, brave a walk off the beaten track into the wilds of York Way, and experience something truly special. It's worth it. And I haven't even mentioned the truffle parmesan fries and garlic roasted broccoli. You'll just have to try them for yourself 😁

We went to the restaurant with my wife for a simple Saturday lunch. The burgers (house w/ cheese) were amazing. The meat was very tasty. The side of sweet potatoes fries was very nice too. We finished the meal with an Oreo shake that I would definitely recommend.
This restaurant is truly a hidden gem if you like good burgers. On top of all that the service is great.
E. L.
Love this place. Never fails to impress me. The menu is so well thought out, I never get tired of their actually very varied and all delicious burgers - plus they regularly have delicious and always exciting specials. Service always friendly. Lovely atmosphere.
D. W.
Great food in this hidden gem of Kings Cross...well worth seeking this place out!
J. R.
Shame it was quiet, as the burgers were delicious. Not much for children, definitely more grown up burgers but they're very tasty!!
J. S.
Quite one of the best burgers I have ever tasted. The restaurant is at the bottom of what seems to be a student block next to building sites and the railway line out of St Pancras, but expect its environment to improve as the Kings Cross development gets completed. Also, try the ketchup. This is not standard ketchup, it's wonderful.
M. M.
Such an underrated place! Incredible burgers. I highly suggest the Umami!
C. C.
The burgers are decent, the meat is well cooked and tasty and cucumber was an interesting addition, but perhaps could be a bit more cheesy/juicy. The chips portions are generous and the wings are good with lots of flavour, but perhaps a but sweet. The Oreo milkshake is rubbish, not cold, not thick and far far far too sweet. The halloumi fries are also not good, they just taste weird and the mint sauce does not work at all, these need changing.
z.
One of the best burgers I've ever try in the United Kingdom. The prices are affordable. The products used are fresh. The plates could have been bigger. The fries were fantastic.
T. K.
Hands down the best burger joint in London. You can tell the meat is great quality, cooked to perfection - melt-in-the-mouth. And the truffle parmesan fries are quite possibly the best fries I've ever eaten!!
R. B.
Really nice burger, juicy, cooked medium rare and nice garnish/pickle, but extra £1 for a slice of tomato felt a bit steep. As per many reviews, the staff were a bit slow to greet, take orders, bring the bill etc. That said I'd go again.
V. G.
Very costly. Oreo milkshake was warm!! Really warm! Sweet chilli chicken wings were no fun either. Burger was superb though. Simple amazing hullumi burger. Some of the best skinny fries to go with the burger too. Hummus was different but really develops on you.
A. T.
Awesome burger, juicy and delicious. Fries were great as well.
M. K.
Awesome food, Jack who served us was heaps friendly awesome server and knew a ton about the way the different meats made up the taste of the burger, which is pretty cool. Cheers! Also the Shiraz was pretty smooth and nice.
T. S.
Real shame, love the concept and was really excited about trying this place out. Not sure if we came on an off night but the food was over seasoned which was a shame as spoilt the taste of what was clearly a good product. Loved the triple cooked chips and clearly homemade ketchup and pickles on the burgers, kudos for that! Very relaxed casual dinning experience but unsure whether to give this place another go!
L. D.
I have to say we were not planning on coming here! However, due to various transport issues we found ourselves in Cut & Grind and were so glad we did. The staff were really friendly, the draught beer was excellent and the burger and fries were outstanding. We will definitely come back... on purpose this time!
J.
Fancy burger joint allows you to create your own burger, including two different options for the patty, one made from leaner cuts and the other from juicier cuts. Once you've selected the type of patty you want you select the toppings, type of bun, sides & sauces etc... Design-types might get a migraine looking at the menu, but it's probably worth it as the burgers we had were really nice.
P. B.
Truly excellent burgers. They focus on what they do best so it has a limited menu but that massively works in its favour, genuinely one of the best burgers I've ever had and really good value for money too.
Also definitely go for the truffle fries, well worth it
Y.
Definately will not let you down no matter what your tastebud is with burgers! My boyfriend found it to be the best burger he has tried and we always go for classic burger and fries. For me it was good, the shredded lettuce was not ideal neither was the sweet cucumber.. however the meat was soo juicy and absolutely cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was amazing and service was alright. We got lucky we were the only customers in there. One big negative point I can make is that the portion of fries were tiny, like a kids miniture bowl.. considering me and my boyfriend are not even really good with big portions...but it managed to accompany well with the burger.
v. p.
Really good burgers. Phenomenal shakes.
M. H.
Great food, also great value. Quality of the food is outstanding, and the service is fantastic.
Admittedly had some issues ordering via JustEat, but this was no fault to the restaurant. I would definitely recommend ordering via UberEats etc if you want delivery, as JustEats drivers never turn up.
A. M.
This is hands down the best burger I have ever had, I love burgers but a lot of the time they can be too rich and over bearing. I got the classic and it was simple but amazing! Will be back again!
C. S.
The burgers are REALLY good but this is not a restaurant as the website would lead you to believe. It is closer to a fast food joint with table service... staff are nice, helpful and try hard BUT stay clear of the bathrooms (that was not a pleaseant part of my experience). It was a good value meal which reflects the burger joint vibe.
A. B.
Excellent burgers, very tasty.
A. J.
I came for the burgers and then I discovered the extras. The attention to detail is just mind-boggling. There are home-made pickles. The ketchup is good enough to eat by the spoonful. My little niece and I had a proper fight over sweet potato chips v v-shaped crinkle-cut chip-chips. How much is too much spicy sauce on the torched sweetcorn? And the broccoli, oh, the broccoli! I'll be back next week!
j. b.
A streamlined and spacious interior here allocates generous personal space to stretch-out and tuck-in.....and that's exactly the ticket here.
Faultless presentation, quality ingredients and unobtrusive service.
A 'burger+sides' that surpassed my most optimistic expectations and at a price that's frankly, astonishing.
A humdinger of a hamburger.
Returned recently - still tops !
R. A.
Bit of an odd location, but once you're there...the staff are really friendly....the menu is good, drinks options are great. But, the important bit: the burger....it's very tasty, good quality meat with great tasting toppings and a bun which holds it all together.
E. M.
Had an amazing experience. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. They attended to my needs without any fuss. The chef cooked my food to my standards! Lovely, tasty food. Definitely recommending cut + grind to my friends and family.
J. J.
A little heavy on the salt but the burger was delicious. Plenty of variety on the menu. Halloumi fries were interesting.
Really liked the staff, we had a fantastic waiter who was very attentive.
N. P.
Friendly service with tasty food. We went on a week night and it was not busy. Ordering was straightforward and the meal came fairly quickly. Atmosphere was good for us friends catching up. Prices were reasonable. Will look forward to going again.
L. h.
My girlfriend bought me the burger making master class for Xmas and it massively exceeded expectations! We learnt loads and had all of our questions answered. We were completely spoilt by the amazing service and food, as well as the endless drinks. It was an amazing experience I will forever keep as a great memory. An extra special thank you to Paz and the head chef Sam for looking after us! We will definitely be back soon to enjoy the delicious menu!
S. A.
Given how saturated the burger market is this is such a welcome find! We shared the signature beef burger and the vegan burger (I’m not a vegan but the ingredients were too good to turn down). WOW. Mouth watering and delicious with every bite. The truffle chips were devoured instantly while the halloumi fries were inspired! Kids loved it too which meant we got to eat our lunch in peace and quiet. Hurrah!
2.
Burgers and chips were incredible, among the best I've ever had. Though just to make you're aware the chips are cooked in beef fat so make sure you ask for the vegetarian chips if you can't eat beef.
M. Z.
It's ok, it was a quiet evening
Good meat quality and tasty. I asked for medium rare and definitely had it overcooked. Great sweet potato chips. Medioka beers Its still good and off the main road. Service was ok, not very communicative but ok, not bad.
D. P.
Really great burgers! Good chips and the onion rings are also tasty
The environment is a little clinical, but genuinely one of the best burgers in London! Juicy and tasty meat
E. M.
The food was just fantastic. The staff lack a bit of customer service however we did arrived latefor our reservations and it was late.
F. “.
No wonder these guys won the burger awards. I enjoyed every single mouthful of this meal. I woke up thinking about it this morning . I had the blue cheese burger with the baked oyster, parmesan truffle fries and the side of broccoli. I know it's in an odd location but its deffinatly well worth the trip. If I could give it more stars ,I would . Well done cut and grind , and thank you x
R. D.
Incredible service and food. Very reasonably priced too.
A. V.
Can't overstate this enough: GREAT BURGERS! Tasty, juicy, fresh ground meat every day, excellent pickles and good buns. Excellent food and service. Pleanty of room for corporate events- i organised one for my co-workers there and they were not dissapointed!
P. E. F.
I live locally, and have been here a couple of times. The reason I don't go often is because of the price, they are a bit pricey than the normal burger joint, but they do have a good selection of burgers.
J. S.
I'll give this burger joint 5 star because the burger is so tasty in am always dying for more. The strawberry and banana smoothie is to die for. The service from the staff as they are polite and friendly. I would always come her when I'm up for a burger
A. K.
The food was good especially the broccoli it was a big shocker very delicious, the beef burger was amazing really happy with the food service was really good , the mojito was really good compared to other places. friendly staff , a little bit disappointed regarding the ketchup and mayonnaise bottles I think they need to do something about it looks very cheap I would really recommend this place for an average price meal
E. W.
Great burgers (these guys understand that the secret to fantastic burgers is a great cut off meat.
And service is amazing.
As an added bonus- their home made ketchup is maybe the best I've ever had.
We'll done guys!
H. R.
Best burger I've found joint north of central. Great all rounder with top beef, great chips and good attention to details (delicious homemade? ketchup and a healthy heap of tangy pickles)
Q. K.
Ommg the chargrillled broccoli and sweet chilli chicken wings are heaven! My favourite burger is the house burger! The candy bacon is soooo good and the coffee is great. A decent burger in the heart if KINGS cross. Its about a 10 minute walk away from the station up York Way but worth the trip. If you didnt want to walk the 390 bus stops 20 yards away from it. It's 3 stops away from kings cross station.
B. L.
Lovely burger place the lady with the blonde and dark hair makes the best coffee.
A. T.
Fantastic burgers and yummy slaw. Helpful staff
S. H.
Best burgers in London, fact!
Try the side of Broccoli, it’s unbelievable.
There’s nothing not to like about this place - the food and the staff are top notch and all at a reasonable price.
D. R.
Great spot for a burger, the patty lives up to the name - tasty and juicy.
Side selection is average and the milkshake portions are small.
K. R.
Best burger I have had in a long time! Use proper bacon that was so crispy
j. b.
Both the beef burger and halloumi burger were delicious! We were served by Angela who was brilliant - really friendly and attentive :)
A. M.
Really good, decently priced burgers. Went for the Ultimate burger. Knocked off a star due to location. Not really near anything, bit out of the way.
J. R.
Impeccable food, wings are to die for! Can be slow when busy but the brilliant staff make up for it! A special shoutout to our wonderful waiter Delano(?)! Really made our experience, the family will be back for the food and you!
T. S. C.
Great burgers - the only burger place I've been to where you can select the cuts that go into your burger. Surprisingly it makes a massive difference. Really delicious.
M.
Simply the best burger I have ever had. Recommend the halloumi chips. Great value, lovely staff. Close to buzzing granary square.
G.
One of my top 3 burger place. And since it is hidden behind Kings Cross you can always grab a comfortable seat. Staff is excellent
l. b.
What an amazing place, great staff. Food is to die for. The cook is phenomenon and does the best burgers around would recommend to everyone to go
M. W.
Amazing fries, fresh burgers, and workable milkshakes. Recommended.
M. D.
Burgers were really nice, unfortunately their service really let them down. For a burger joint which wasn't busy, it took far too long to bring our drinks and they also got our order wrong.
D. Z.
Burgers were really good, service was friendly and price was good value. Fries were really really nice as well, and the place is just friendly.
D. T.
Tasty Burger! Really nice staff. Atmosphere ok, fries just ok. Will come back whenever I'm fancy good quality burger;). Thank you!
N. S.
Really good burgers and a good price too! Nice little chilled place with amazing service too! Highly recommended for some quick and decent food.
L. R.
Nice place and the best burgers in london. Polite staff, and nice drinks. I strongly recommend this place, my family and I really enjoyed
P. K.
The burger and fries were very good, but the restaurant was too simple and not inviting to have a nice dinner. Next time i will use the take away option.
S. R.
Nice simple menu with great options for meat eaters and vegetarians. Very helpful and friendly staff and the food was absolutely delicious! will 100% recommend
M. O.
Great burgers and the most amazing ketchup!

I really recommend this place. :)
M. O.
Had the classic burger and can honestly say it's one of the best burger's I've had in London and I've had a fair few.
T. q.
Good burgers! Good beer, not bad on price considering location. Added to the Friday lunchtime option board.
H. J.

Very tasty burgers but... Changed their chips and generally the table wasn't a fan. Service notoriously slow
N. W.
The burgers are fresh and taste great, staff is super friendly and the restaurant offers an unbeatable value.
P. A.
Yummo. That is all. Go and choose your meat and get that burger down you. Make sure you order your second whilst you’re eating. You won’t regret your it. The side orders are yummy too.
Z. O.
Having already tried the juicy house burger, the chicken burger, the sweet potato fries and parts of their breakfast menu, I'm looking forward to my next visit!
H. A. G.
The chips there have the meat flavour and while the burgers are really tasty. The don't have student discount.
F. T. G.
Their Oreo milkshake is really good (but also really sweet!)
D. P.
It's a little bit out of the way, but worth the walk from St Pancras Station. The burgers were delicious! Tasty and juicy.
J. F.
Food is amazing, with great service (cod cheeks and truffle fries were epic!). Will definitely return to check out weekend brunch.
S. G.
Normally friendly and timely service with great food for the price, however as of late service has been unpleasant and very larthargic, waited 30mins in an empty restaurant for a burger, normally service at this time is around 15mins
ö. n. y.
The staff are a bit unresponsive and slow. They are mostly not even behind the bar. Good burgers though.
M.
The best burger I ever had!! And give the halloumi fries a shot, definitely worth it :)
c. h.
Went with the family today - great fresh real quality ingredients - excellent burgers, friendly staff, very good value for money
S. C.
Stunning juicy burger and BBQ chicken wings! Despite this, the service was a bit poor, not enough staff and not really attentive.
S. S.
