Reviews of Dans le Noir ? London Restaurant
P. S.
This experience as a family outing was amazing. The staff were really friendly including micheal, our guide, and alya, our waitress who were both blind and outstanding with their service. No phones or belongings were allowed in the dark room so no photos were taken, but we were shown our meals after the experience. I had the 3 course meal from the blue menu which was delicious, although it may seem abit overpriced (luckily they accept student discounts). I would recommend this to any family, it was quite scary at first but the inability to see our meal enhanced our other senses together which was an overall pleasant experience.

I visited in Jan as a treat because my friend was moving out of London and wanted to try this. This review is well overdue. I don't want to say too much that might ruin the experience but we had a fantastic time. Loseing your sense of sight for the meal allows all your other senses to come alive. I'm usually a slow eater and my partner is the fast eater but in the dark our behaviour totally changed, I became the quick eater!. You get a choice of veg, meat or fish menu and you have no idea what will turn up on the plate, so try to order from the same menu so that you guys can try to guess what you're all eating!. The food tasted delicious, the wine pairings and cocktail were excellent too. Our host Ghow was fantastic! As was the lady downstairs who gave us a lovely momento book and a complimentary cocktail downstairs. I can't rave about this place enough, a worthwhile business employing differently abled people, excellent food and excellent service. These types of places make dinning out a pleasure and memorable experience!

Great experience for a special treat. We thoroughly enjoyed it and so glad we booked it after years (yes- years) of talking about it. Is it expensive ? Yes, we went for 3 course email (comes with 2x glasses of wine, 1 cocktail and water) . This costs £165 (including voluntary service charge). Is it worth the price ? If you only think value for the food then probably not but you must take the whole experience into consideration, charity and the amazing team they have so worth every single penny .
All staff were incredible from start to finish. Warm and honest. They run a very smooth operation, like clock work really. Our host Michael was amazing and so attentive (massive thanks ). Food was actually far better than we expected . Really nice meal, served with nice wine. The only thing that was disappointing was the surprise cocktail. Didn’t taste of much apart from fruit juice. My others half cocktail tasted of nothing but lemonade. Definitely room for improvement.
Anyway, eating in the complete darkness is definitely something to be experienced. We would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone . You will have a great laugh and you will be well looked after. The service is very efficient ! Thank you for a great time .

Such a great experience. The waiters were incredible (thank you Fabio!) and the food tasted amazing. It was also way less intimidating being in the pitch black than we expected. Took a few minutes to get used to it but it was actually very calming! Would definitely recommend for a fun and unique experience (and 40% of the profits go to charity!)

Amazing and unique experience - We came here to celebrate my partner's birthday, and we left with memory. Very fortunate have this experience with us.
It was completely dark and very strange at the beginning, and then we started to realise the food we were eating - the texture, the taste, the shape, and the flavour. I had red menu and the food was delicious too!
Highly recommend to anyone who want to experience dining in the darkness. Big shout out to Courtney for her amazing service and Michael who helped walk us out.

Pricey but it was an amazing experience and highly recommend. It defo was an unforgettable experience. Its interesting how your other senses enhance when one is 'taken away'.
Food was tasty and staff were so polite. Michael and Aliyah (sorry if name is mispellt) provided an amazing service and put us at ease with it being such a nervewracking experience.
The perfect place to go if you feel nervous eating infront of people 🤣

Firstly the service from the wait staff in the restaurant upstairs was absolutely incredible. So friendly, attentive and professional. They really made the experience a great one. Shout out to Pvyas (I’m really sorry if I’ve got his name wrong, he was serving table 19 on Friday 14 January!)
The staff downstairs in the bar area were also friendly but seemed a bit stressed - everything was a bit frantic and rushed... perhaps they need more help in busy periods??
In terms of the food, unfortunately we were really disappointed. We had the green menu and it was just really bland for the most part - had to force down the main which didn’t taste of anything. The starter was overpowered by garlic and you couldn’t taste much else. The dessert tasted like tinned fruit.
This was experience for my boyfriend’s birthday and we paid around £125 for 3 courses and one glass of wine each. This was quite a splurge for us and unfortunately the standard of the food left us a bit deflated.
But just want to reiterate the wait staff were amazing! I would say go for the experience but don’t expect much from the food.

A really fascinating and interesting experience. During the dinner, me and my partner were forced to discuss things we previously had taken for granted. What are we eating? What did the room look like? How many people did we think were in here with us? At first I imagined I would feel more anxious in the setting, being in a completely dark room where we couldn't leave without help. But Ghow was an extremely reassuring and competent waiter. He explained everything very thoroughly and made us feel at ease. Can really recommend a visit. A truly unique experience.

Such a strange and wonderful experience. Dining in the dark is truly different, you'll find yourself eating in a way you wouldn't normally! The food was tasty and we were showed what we ate after which surprised us! Our server Ghow was helpful and guided us to our seats perfectly. Would recommend to anyone wishing to try something different!

Top most impressive thing is that the restaurant passes 40% of their takings onto charity work to do will eye related less abled.
When you arrive at the restaurant you are giving a locker for your phones and other items.
Then you are escorted to your table in the dark, and you basically feel the amazing experience.
The food was pretty good and two course for the 6 of us was quite filling.
