Visited for Sunday lunch and had a great time. We had a selection of starters which were all generous and very tasty. I had the porchetta roast which was a treat and a step up from the usual roast pork. The meat was very tender and my companions who had steak said it was perfectly cooked. Dark Horse has a great wine list which is definitely the best value around. I don't know of any restaurant in the area with so many choices under £30. You can order within your budget and always be happy with what you're drinking.

The food was lovely and the service is quick. I had the Octopus salad to start and the Lamb for mains. The lamb was done nicely and not seasoned to death like most other places. Only negative are those damn chairs, I kept hitting my elbows or the nerves around my elbows all the flippin' time, get a hacksaw and chop the long arms of the backs off please!

I visited twice. For dinner nas for afternoon drinks and nibbles. Great service both times. The food is well prepared from quality ingredients. A good wine menu. The cocktails are creative and not too sweet. Very tasty. It would be great if the outside tables were also non-smoking during the pandemic.

Came here for a Sunday lunch and restaurant was fully booked during lunch. I ordered roast lamb roast. The lamb meat was pretty tender and juicy. I wasn’t happy with the roasted potato as it was slightly hard and not fluffy as expected inside. The Apple and apricot crumble tasted delicious and topped with ice cream yummy! Overall I think it’s a nice restaurant in East Village. I would come back again during the week for their other menu.

Went last night for drinks and nibbles, and we throughly enjoyed this gem of a restaurant. The staff are fantastic, as are the drinks and starters. However, Matt was absolutely amazing serving us our cocktails which were exceptional. Will be back!

I went during a less busy afternoon so the place was quiet. The staff were attentive and made sure our dishes came when it was supposed to. The appetisers were lovely (chórizo, squid ink arrancini) and I would recommend the black pig pork chop. It's a good restaurant.

We had a really lovely lunch here! We had a warm welcome when we arrived by the front of house gentleman; we hadn't a reservation but we're quickly seen to a table and given menus. We ordered a couple of cocktails that were expertly crafted and lovingly presented. We quickly ordered food afterward; smoked pork hash, the pork chop and some padrón peppers. The food was a treat for the eyes and for the taste buds. I think it was the best pork chop I've ever eaten and will be returning for another! The service was fast and friendly with good knowledge about the menu. We never felt rushed or forgotten. 10/10 they'll see us again.

Truly a dark horse! A really nice restaurant, a little gem. Nice break from the chain restaurants located in Westfield. As soon as you walk in the lovely aroma of the cooking from the kitchen hits you. Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, great selection of drinks and good, tasty food. They even sell their wine for taking away at a discounted price.

My partner and I stumbled across these this place after a exhausting day of sunday shopping around Westfield. Neither of us had visited the Darkhorse before, but we'll certainly be coming back again. Great selection of drinks available (cocktails, beer and a extensive wine list) perfect for that post shopping wined down 😁 I believe this most be independently owned, and you can see the staff really take pride in there job. This is exactly the sort of local place the should be supported. The food was fantastic, and service amazing. Highly recommended (Our only criticism, the gluten free options are limited).

Great place. Crisp efficient service by friendly staff from start to finish . Food was excellent lovely lamb starter with merguez and a tangy salad followed by Halibut. Dropped in for food this evening, table for one. I ordered a beer, bottle of Timothy Taylor at £6 well overpriced. The waiter took my food order, Chicken Liver Pate to start...easy to make and it tastes fine, a good portion but as usual in most places 2 small pieces of sourdough left over half the pate with nothing to spread it on. I then ordered the black pig chop with roasted leeks and a fennel mayonnaise however 2 small leeks the size of a babies thumb did not cut it on the veg front. There was nothing from the waiter as to whether I wanted any potatoes or side dishes so I wrongly presumed there would be enough on my plate. All in all okay food but well overpriced in my opinion, staff could have been a little more helpful and sitting by 3 very loud salesman didn't make for a comfortable meal.

Visited prior to a Theatre show. First visit and it won't be the last. The service from the waitress was great, she was lovely and smiley. I've marked it down one star because the chap who took us to our table seemed a little grumpy. He took our orders ok but just didn't seem very happy. Maybe he'd had a bad day! The asparagus was excellent. I had lamb as a main course and it was perfectly cooked. The food was all freshly cooked in an open kitchen. All in all a lovely meal.

Visited Darkhorse recently when over visiting form Dublin. The initial welcome when we arrived was excellent, the staff were really friendly. The range of cocktails was second to none. The menu itself had all you could wish for for a romantic night out. My friend & I thoroughly enjoyed our experience, we will be back when over again. One interesting 'tidbit' of trivia is that some scenes in 'Killing Eve' were filmed here...

Fine for post work visit but a bit too loud for my personal taste (a busy Friday evening visit). The bar team deliver individual service - give them your likes and they produce the ingredients and unique cocktail. The team who cook your meals are amazing, Professional and deliver great dinner and the management spend time ensuring the right wine and drink is served up a rotating and ever changing menu.

We called in here as we were staying in the area and on our way to a concert at the o2. It is in a re-developed part of Stratford, near Westfield shopping centre and is a lovely place to go for a drink. We sampled some of the cocktails which were exceptionally made. The bar tender was clearly experienced and the attention to detail was outstanding. We didn’t eat here but noticed a few tables there and saw some of the food going out which looked very impressive. Would definitely recommend for a quiet drink, the ambience is very relaxed.

I'm not a usual reviewer...and have had to jump a few hoops to write this review( registration, passwords, etc)...but felt compelled to do this having spent a beautiful afternoon at the dark horse. We are regulars but today we were a tricky booking (to put it lightly...nightmare might be a better description) our friends who have three children under the age of two...plus our own children who are 6 and 8...the staff as usual made us feel welcome as ...the service was impecable and caring!!! We relaxed straight away...thank you dark horse! The food as usual was beautiful...and the cocktails are the best in London (and I've been to a few bars in London) I would describe the dark horse as discerning, passionate and genuine!

Had a delicious 3-courses dinner and still can't decide which one of the Spanish tapas, roasted chicken breast or Chocolate bread pudding was my favourite! I have eaten at the best...this is Good for Stratford...Good service good food. Doesn't deserve 5 .. for a few factors...One. the place said you need to book. When we arrived the place was EMPTY literally 4 persons dinning . They seemed to be judgemental., their progative I guess, bless. Two. Drinks were good but again no way 5 * e.g. cocktails did not have the flare. Three. Food i.e. meats yes great. Fish and veg disappointing. Four. Expensive for E20 Five. I really wanted to give 5 * ...but honestly and dinning for 40 years..No ......4 / 5 still worth a visit if you have 120 pounds for 2 ((;
