Visited in the Last week for lunch. The restaurant has updated with its new decorations. With new renovations has more space and nice atmosphere to have food in there. Authentic Turkish restaurant to present delicious foods from Turkish cuisine.

I usually go to this restaurant younger and more attractive sibling down the road ...though don't be fooled by the tired facade. behind the door lies a wonderful feast of food , plentiful and very well priced. Service is standard but the food more than makes up for that. Don't be fooled by the glitzy alternatives down Green Lanes this place is worth the visit.

The portion size is massive! We ordered a share platter for 2-3 persons but we were a group of 4 and were still unable to finish! But the food was delicious… especially their bread… followed by a Turkish tea at the end.

First time at this restaurant, there’s a lot of competition on this street as there are so many delicious Turkish restaurants here. I am usually a regular to another restaurant on this road. So they were quite busy, but despite being busy they were very quick to seat us (3 of us) and take our order. Our starters followed very soon after this which was great! We parked on a side road on a Sunday; theres boxes all around so you can pay and display. Our food was nice and very tasty. Loved the service and food! Their prices are also reasonable. Would definitely recommend this place!

As usual top service, top food and finally easy on pocket. Starter, turkish tea and the dessert came as complimentary and no service charge billed, who would not enjoy that!!! We ordered Iskander and the donner lamb was finished and they recommended to try with kebab like minced lamb and that was absolutely delicious and nice. After my previous experience with Al-Shishawi restaurant on the night of August 18, 2020, there is no comparison with Diyarbakir, the service is excellent, the place is spacious and clean, the food is delicious, and they have a 50% discount and this attracts customers unlike some restaurants. However, there is only one note, which is that the payment is in cash, and they do not have an electronic payment service

This place use to be the ultimate for me. It was a secret gem for the many who knew it. It's still miles better than the vast majority of Turkish restaurants and the lamb ribs are still delicious. But it use to be so much better. U always had to wait to be seated and the food had an extra level of flavour. It's still damn good but has definitely lost just a little in the flavour department. The atmosphere is way more relaxed than it use to be (an unplanned positive development) and the service is fantastic. Had I not known how it use to be, it would've been 5 stars- but I can't help but miss that special something that has been lost. Back then I would never have dreamed of leaving a public review- as I said, it was a secret gem- but a secret for many. And those limited few I did tell, would always thank me.

That is probably one of the best turkish kebab restaurants in London. The place is always packed so better to make a reservation before going. We ordered the mega plate for two, it had lots of grilled variety from lamb and chicken meat along with rice. The lamb ribs was so juicy and yummy! Every order is served with 3 different salads and freshly backed bread. Highly recommended!!

Lamb was nicely seasoned and tender. Aubergines smoked to perfection! We felt the bread was too smokey and they forgot our haullomi order. They also forgot our bill and we had to ask for it twice. Portions are big and worth it. Decor is modern compared to the other restaurants on Green Lane. All in all food is good but service can be improved.

This is one of my favourite Turkish restaurants. I literally drive over all the way from South London to go here. The food is super amazing, tasty and delicious. I really love the mixed platters which are perfect if there is a large group of you. They also offer starters here along with Turkish bread. If you've never tried be prepared it's so delicious you will definitely order another serving. The service from the staff is what makes coming here so great. They are so lovely and always happy to make recommendations if you want to try something different. It often gets busy in the evenings so best to arrive early. Literally one of the best Turkish restaurants ever!!!!!!

Absolutely love this place. The food is always on point. Succulent and tender pieces of meat grilled to perfection. The cold starters are plenty and on the house with turkish bread. I am a fan of the Lamb chops and lamb ribs which I could eat all day long. The food is not spicy or flavoured in anyway so you can actually taste the meat rather than over flavoured meat. I had to have a portion of fries!! I didn’t try any Ayran on this occasion but will surely will do on my next visit.

I've been going to Diyar Bakir for years. The food is consistently great! In fact it has been my go to Turkish restaurant, bringing numerous friends and recommending it to loads. But lately their service has been rubbish. Really disappointing. They have not been attentive at all. It's unfortunate because I think I'll have to find a new Turkish restaurant to go to. The service is like nothing I have ever experienced anywhere. They are all very warm and friendly and very very polite. Upon arriving you will always be given fresh, hot, soft bread and delicious salad. Sometimes tzatziki and baba ganoush too. Meat is moist and super tasty and they are very generous with portions. This is good Turkish restaurant, like many others I’ve been to food is tasty and the portions are very generous. Prices are okay, wine is avarage, canteen like ambience, good efficient service, clean toilets. Unfortunately nothing “wow” that’s why solid three stars, I would recommend.

Diyarbakir now has a new branch further up Green Lanes, towards Turnpike Lane. We have tried both old and new, and still prefer the old because you still pretty much get the same menu but it is slightly cheaper. Food is great! The grilled meat is full of flavour and tender. The stews have a good balance of meat and veg. Their salads are always fresh. Go with friends to try their meat platter, it is a big portion - great value for money.

In the abundance of great Turkish restaurants in Green lanes, this place manages to be near the very top. Typically, it offers enormous portions at very good prices, the meat is cooked to perfection and it is usually packed (but not to the degree you have to queue outside). The Lamb chops here are to die for, probably the best in the street and this is quite a statement. I have been here many times and will keep coming back. A reservation is probably in order, especially if your company counts many people. It is slightly cramped, tables a bit close to each other, but service manages to keep up with this number of people.

Turkish restaurants are generally good. This one, however, is amazing. HUGE plates of food, and very very cheap. They give you cold vegetables, bread and one sauce/dip as a starter, for free. The portions are massive. And the service very nice and quick! Only thing is that there is one single toilet for men, but that is a minor..100% sure I'll come back.

I was in Turkey last summer and tried many of their traditional dishes - they are amazing. I have never thought that will taste the Adana kebab again but when I found this place, it was the first dish which I ordered. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great and the staff is polite. Next time, I'll try to book a table by their website as the restaurant is always full.

There is a lot of competition on this street so you're looking for restaurants to stand out, especially when there is even one sharing your name 20 yards away. The waiters were very attentive when we arrived, perhaps even a bit too much. The bread and basic appetizers are a standard offering on Green Lane but the quality was poorer here than other restaurants nearby. My food arrived several minutes before the rest of my group, which is a very basic error. Fingerprints all around the rim of your plate are never a good thing. At the end of the meal, we couldn't get a waiter's attention for the bill. All in all, the food was ok, but the experience needed to be much better.

Thus places is miles better than gokyuzu. Sorry I used to love gok but after coming here it pales in comparison. The food is nicer with better flavours and marinades, salad is so fresh and delicious and not overly tangy or overdone with the sumac and as for the meat and mixed grills, cooked to perfection. Best bit is the ambience is great For friends and family and the staff are sooo good with the kids. Just love it. And the seating is more comfy here than some of the other places also.

Hands down the best Turkish restaurant in Haringey. Places like Gokyuzu, while good, fall short. The daily dishes are always great and cheap too. The owners are always welcoming and remember your name, wish the same could be said about the waiters but it's not a dealbreaker. Go for the meal, stay for the tea.

So i m use to go there and wanted to try Gökyüzü because it's exactly same food and the rate score is better. I tried many places on that road and I m going to give a score for each of them. So I tried different dishes from both places and that one, regarding the food it's better for the donur, the rest is pretty much equivalent. And about the service they are pretty much the same. A note about food to take way, that one will give you the bread with juce meat on it (not every time but most of the time), for Gökyüzü you have to ask but they will do. To continue the comparison on the dessert, for the rice pudding the one here is really less creamy and much bigger than the one of Gökyüzü. I prefer the one here but it's just about taste because both are really good. So at the end it remains my top one place for that kind of turkish grilled food. Well done Diyarbakir.

Turkish £10 per head Halal Soft Drinks Only This is my best find for a very long time. If you like meat this is the place to come. This Turkish restaurant has leapt to number one in my recommendation for Turkish food in London and finds a place at my top ten restaurants ever. Even more amazing are the prices. At the time of writing a mixed platter cost £25 and feeds two people with a lot left over (enough for lunch the next day.) The £35 platter easily fed 4 hungry men meaning that our meal came to £10 a head. As this is a Turkish restaurant attracting the local Turkish community there is no alcohol and all the food is halal. This makes it a fantastic place for large parties with mixed food requirements eager to keep the bill to a minimum. although it is possible to stick to non meat dishes, your vegertarian friends may not thank you for the invite due to the mountains of meat being cooked and served. The platter includes lamb ribs (which are the most flavoursome ribs I've tasted, seconded only by Tayyabs (authentic Punjabi in Whitechapel and my top recommendation for Indian food in London.) The Turkish bread is moist and smoky with a butter glaze. It is probably worth a visit for the bread alone. The bread is accompanied with four generous meze portions. Along with the meze arrives a light salad tossed in sweet juice. It goes well with the meat, but rarely last long enough to make it to the main course.Finally all customers are served with tea, usually taken at the end of the meal. This is not rushed and you are welcome to have as much as you like. I thought that this was a nice touch as I didn't feel hurried to leave. The staff are busy, but remain efficient and friendly. This restaurant is very popular and do not take bookings, but operate on a first come first served basis. During busy time the staff's default suggested waiting period is 20 minutes, I have never waited longer than ten. The busy period is 8 -10pm with 8 - 9pm being exceptionally lively. This is true for every day of the week. Based in the Haringey part of Green Lanes, close to Turnpike Lane this restaurant welcomes everyone, but caters for its locals. There is a lot of competition in the area for the bustling local trade and standards need to remain high. There is little wonder local Turkish families fill this restaurant day in day out.

Coming from North London, I know and love my Turkish food. Diyarbakir is by far the best Turkish I have been to, in green lanes, and London more generally. I regularly come to eat here to get my meat hit, as does, it seems, the best part of the Turkish Green Lanes community. We usually order one of the special grills- chicken shish, lamb shish, lamb ribs (these are mouth-wateringly beautiful), adana, doner on a bed of rice surrounded by grilled onions, tomatoes and peppers. The good quality meat is cooked to perfection and marinated in a delicious sweet, spicy oil. We also often have the Adana Yogurtlu- adana kebab layered on top of rich tomato sauce, yogurt and bread fried in butter. Enough said. As with most Turkish restaurants you get a basket of soft, warm bread, some fresh salad, olives, pickles and Cacik (yogurt sauce) once you order. We usually supplement this with an Ezme salad (spicy tomato and herbs chopped up finely). £40-£50 for a feast for four people- the value is staggering. Service is efficient, allowing for a quick turnover of customers- this place is always full to the brim, usually with local Turks. No alcohol is served and you cannot bring your own.
