Reviews of Duck Duck Goose
c. c.
Nice little restaurant and staff spoke to us in Cantonese… food wise quite good and taste quite like Hong Kong. Portions okay and the dim sum on Sunday doesn’t have separate order sheet, all dim sum was £5 from the night time big menu. The rice was little hard but Overall not bad…
e. h.
Great Cantonese restaurant with excellent friendly service. Lobster noodle is the best. Crispy chilly salted deep fried squid also very good.
A. A.
Really good quality HK and Cantonese food. I had Feb beef brisket with noodles which was excellent and had the 3 roasted meats (duck, char sui pork and crispy pork belly) with rice.
Only thing which was disappointing was I wanted to have dim sum and they’re only serving the evening dim sum menu during lunch times which has a more limited selection and is more expensive. Please do bring back your normal dim sum menu for lunchtimes!
T. B.
We went to the O2 cinema and were looking for somewhere to eat. We hadn't booked. We were 7 adults and 6 children. I walked into the restaurant and was greeted by a smiling lady I wasn't expecting them to accommodate us as we were 14 I total and hadn't book but they moved the tables and we all sat down together. The food was delicious. The noodles, dimsum, satay, veg noodles. We ate so much food and the portions are gr8. I forgot to take photos because we were too busy eating.
The staff were great, really efficient and experienced. I would definitely go back. I fed myself and 2 children for around £50.

Fast service and good choice of food
M. B.
The food is yummy and heavenly! The staffs are friendly and patience to write down my take away orders slowly and explained to me some dishes.
The take away food tasted great even after a few hours especially those juicy roasted duck! 🍗
They are my life savers for 2 days whereby it was raining and we stayed inside the hotel during our 5 days stay there as my kids only wanna eat rice and noodles dishes which the hotel don’t serve them.
The price is reasonable for such good service and great delicious food 🥘 is a rare find!
a. h.
Roast duck was good, juicy and tender. The roast pork was crispy but a tad dry. The broccoli was done perfectly, the ma po tofu lacked heat. We paid £60 which was reasonable.
M. L.
Duck Duck was was a restaurant on my to go list. Totally worth it.
Amazing Chinese food. We had the duck wrap, the butterfly shrimps and a meat plate. Everything was delicious. Will definitively go back. Staff super warm and nice!
M. C.
Wonderful restaurant, great atmosphere, fabulous food will definitely be visiting again we usually get takeaway from here which is just as great
C.
Hmm the food was OK. A little greasy for my liking and very very salty. I did have duck crispy noodles so perhaps this was the reason for the extra greasy gravy with the noodles. It was tasty though, just not sure my stomach will handle all the grease.
R. Z.
Very nice food, we had the Peking duck and thoroughly reccomend it. The staff and service was lovely. If you like Chinese food I definitely would advise you to come here.
A. C.
Chinese fine dining restaurant. Menu offers a large diversity of dishes, vegetarian menu as well. Wine list and liquors available. Very good location wise and staff is friendly and very prompt.
F. G.
Just were passing by and decided to give it a go. The interior is nice and spacious. The menu is extensive and we were quickly served. I found all the portions to be generous and the food of a high quality. The staff were knowledgable about vegetarian options and allergens. Great veggie crispy duck!! This will be our go-to Chinese spot!
I. C.
Good Chinese resturant, foods are delicious, good presentation, chicken and duck cant miss. Fresh fish steam with Chinese style is wonderful. Also K room is available for party gathering.
N. S.
Lovely local spot both for simple dine in or take out. Love their Pekin duck & pancakes dish
M. A.
Good food & ambience. No complaints about the portion either
J. S.
We had a lovely meal at this restaurant for my birthday. Throughly enjoyed the food and the service was good too.
H. D.
Dim Dum on a Sunday in Swiss Cottage .
No need to go to the west end .
The Chicken with Jelly Fish ( eat cold ) also good
Enjoyed .
N. T.
Went here for dim sum today. The dim sum is very authentic and very tasty. I highly rate this place. The mango sago dessert was amazing too. This restaurant was modernly decorated with a good atmosphere.
E. E.
I always order the dim sum when I come here. The restaurant is very clean and ambiance is great too.
l. l.
If you are in London looking for good Chinese restaurant, then this is the place. Price is affordable and the quality is really good. Love mango dessert. It is slightly further out of central London, but if you do stay around the area, it is definitely worth popping by
R. K.
Had Dim Sum for Lunch here. Fantastic dim sum. The dishes are bigger than I expected and not expensive compared to China Town in London.
V. T.
Sichuan fish with mushrooms was hot, but very tasty. Noodles with beef are delicious.
S. 0.
Staff were very welcoming and attentive. The dishes weren’t all presented very well, and portion sizes weren’t very generous.
However the dishes tasted great and hit the spot!
It was our first time, and I would give Duck Duck Goose another visit before making a final decision on whether to go back again.
F. P.
Amazing staff, friendly and real authentic food. I cannot recommend this place enough.Well worth it
T. W.
Loved this place.
Staff were friendly, it has a relaxing and smart atmosphere, well decorated and very clean.
I had the set menu for two which was well priced and extremely filling.
A. G.
Good food, friendly service, reasonable prices, clean restaurant. I celebrated my birthday and we were very loud, I apologise. But the staff was professional and nobody said a word . Thank you for being good to us)))
M. K.
Ordered take away for collection from here. Process was really smooth and fast. Roast duck and pork were pretty good. The duck was meaty with nice roasted skin. The hotpot bean curd with mushrooms was passable but could be better.
M. T.
Food was pretty ok however over priced. £75 for 2 people (2x starters and 2x mains bear and tea)
P. W.
I've been 3 times since it was open all for lunch. 2nd time the prawns in my dumpling were off (it was sour), the waiting took it off my bill (no discount of total bill but I could be sick). Went for lunch post COVID, they only offer the evening dim sum menu (limited choice), but at evening prices, which means is £5.50 per dim sum, which is even more expensive than central London China town (China town even have discount). We ordered 3 items only 2 came and I had to physically get up and ask for the last item at the counter when we finish the first 2, the waitress confessed later on when she bought the last dish they simply forgot the order and apologised. I still got charge the full service!
Unless I am desperate I don't think I will go back again nor would I recommend anyone to go unless they are desperate, is a ashamed I as I like to support local business but after 2 ill experience is time to give it a miss. Good luck to them
L. M.
Good food, slow service and rude staff. We went here on a Sunday. It took a while for us to order - several times we tried to get the attention from a waiter or waitress. The food took a while to come but was really tasty. Before we had even finished, the staff started to take our plates away. We were shocked that 12.5% service charge was added. We decided not to pay it because we did not think the service was good enough. The waiter returned our money and bill and said that we had no paid enough. We explained that we had not paid the service charge. He seemed a little annoyed at this. When leaving, no staff said goodbye or smiled. Duck Duck Goose need to think about what good service it. That said, if the service improved, I would return as the food is good.
J. J.
Friendly staff, great food, great menu selection, clean and nice decor.
T. C.
Love this place . It is far from perfect however the team is always nice ( not overly) but happy to see you. The food is always great ( best duck in London ,even better than one in China Town), great soups, tasty vegetables. Always busy yet quite ( it doesn't get noisy even when full), just the right sort of clients,I guess. Very quick service. Decor needs to be updated as well as table wear. Yet, love it.
D. D.
Great food, but the service could be much better. Recommend you look at your receipt properly as they tried to overcharge us £70. Once I pointed it out they rectified it straight away. I only hope it was a genuine mistake.
S. L.
Good services, great cantonese style food , best dim sum at London
J. B.
Great coice of Chinese dishes and good service
K. P.
First all vegetarian meal ( in a Chinese restaurant) and it was faultless! Very tasty, nice staff, all round great experience!
M. T.
Duck Duck Goose is a great place to have great food and drinks and also the staff that run it are very polite and friendly I really recommend this place as they do really good food and drinks at a very reasonable price and I look forward to having a nice sit down meal there when we are able to actually sit inside where you can just relax in peace and quiet in there very spacious and comfortable surroundings. 😀
J. S.
Just ordered deliveroo and now will definitely visit. Best Chinese takeaway I have had in a long time with a mix of he favourites done really well and what I assume are more authentic dishes. My "home style pork belly" was a lovely mix slices of pork with stir fry veg. My girlfriends sweet and sour was perfect - crispy chicken and the right levels of tang in that wonderful red goo. Colorful and tasty dim sum selection, excellent noodles and light but flavourful fried rice. Worth the slightly high price.
A.
Am extremely happy with the taste of the food that were truly authentic taste-wise. Am only rating 3 stars due to just 1 staff who's not particularly friendly (maybe am just expecting a lil' bit more, though taste of food is nevertheless more important than this). Regardless, it's not super welcoming vibe from the servers upon arrival and exit from the restaurant. The other thing that bugged me was the service charge imposed on the bill - around 15% of the total bill (seems like a trend with some Asian restaurants here in London) *would have gladly paid this should the treatment by servers were welcoming in all ways.
S. S.
I came down last week to celebrate my fathers birthday. The food was amazing, especially the roast duck and the plum dipping sauce it came with was so delicious. The restaurant was newly decorated and the seating area we got was very comfortable. The staff was all very smiley and helpfully. They offer fresh seafood and hand made dim sum. Definitely well worth the price.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who's food.
I will definitely be going back.
Thanks for the great service Duck Duck Goose.
S.
Wonderful Cantonese restaurant! Best authentic Asian food I have had in a long while. Prices are moderate, linen table cloths and classy atmosphere but not overwhelming; dress casual. Menu has many choices incuding a separate menu for dim sums, dumplings and other appetisers. Best selection you can find outside of Chinatown. Highly recommend.
A. L.
Excellent noddles and dim sum at very reasonable price. Friendly service too!
S. N.
Great food, everything was well done, not too dry and not too moist, dare i say it - perfect. Food was served very fast after 10 minutes of ordering. Nice atmosphere inside, staff are really nice and prices were very decent. 5 stars from me.
R. C.
One of my family's regular dim sum joints on a Sunday. Normally the dim sum is fantastic and we enjoy the authenticity of their food on a regular basis, being from HK, we are extremely picky about dim sum and we won't eat it just anywhere. Service is as you would expect from any Chinese restaurant not the best until the waiters warm up to you, but their food is normally on point. We had not come for a few weeks, unfortunately, on this occasion the food did not rise to meet our expectations. The Small Ribs in Black Bean sauce had a weird after taste as did the crispy Peking duck (minty aftertaste). I am still giving them 4 stars because the rest of the food was good and because it is not often you come across issues like the ones we had last Sunday. There is room for improvement and I hope they fix this as soon as possible.
C. F.
Lovely food
Nice staff
K. L.
Food was great. Timely response downside delivery catchment area is limited.
P. R.
A fantastic and genuinely friendly restaurant. The staff are lovely and happy to see you. The food is well presented and of good quality. It's my go to local restaurant although there are five closer. This one is a cut above all the others.
R. L.
I go here for lunch sometimes as it's down the road from where I work, and crave good Chinese food. Food is great here, very authentic I love it! My favourite is the Sam siu fan or their noodle soup dishes. The place is done up really nice so it's very comfortable dining inside.
C. D.
Great food... When it arrived. Large portions.
Shame none of the food arrived at the same time.
They didn't have one of our starters and didn't tell us until it wad too late. They then forgot one of the sides.
Yet still charged 12.5% service? Tut tut tut
N. C.
Food is pretty good and the portions are a good size but expensive. Two courses for three of us came to around £95 excluding drinks. There is no justifiable reason that a bowl of edammame should cost £5.
Service is mostly excellent but there was a noticeable language barrier which made things a little uncertain sometimes.
The interior is much nicer than the exterior suggests.
E. F.
I had a dinner on Valentine's Day, there was such a warm, energetic vibe. Staff were really sweet and attentive. Food was amazing and came quickly! Had a wonderful time and would really recommend to anyone, coming again next Friday with friends!
T. W.
The Hot and Sour soup is probably the best I've ever had....but the price for what you get portion wise is a a bit much. The portion was literally the size of a large muffin....a wee more soup seems a way to go. Not looking for an entree, but I was done in a few bites.
m. j.
Fantastic dinner. Cannot fault anything. Peking duck, dim sum, hot and sour soup, chicken chow mein all incredible. A must if you're in the area. Very competitively priced as well.
R. D.
Good quality Chinese food, even better than Chinatown. Had the karaoke room and music quality was first class. Waiter who served us was smart and efficient. Definitely will return.
D. S.
Typical cantonesed food. Not spicy. Good value for money.
F. H.
The best Asian food in London ever!
A. R.
One of the best Chinese food I had outside China. The flavours reminded me of the authentic Chinese cuisine I love. The prices were good considering the size and the service was good too.
J. B.
I visited this restaurant for the first time since it changed hands, it was really good; although not sure if chicken was substituted for something else. Nice staff who were very helpful. The name is fab as two of us work with Children, we know this is the name of a children's game . Very nice decor and furniture.

M.
Offers good quality Chinese food for a reasonable price in well-kept, modern surroundings. The menu is expansive with something for everyone, and if karaoke is your thing, the modern karaoke booths downstairs will keep you more than happy.
V. H.
This place serves a very good quality of Hong Kong cuisine - from starters to deserts! All of them are very nice and neatly served. The place is clean and cozy - ensuring a good atmosphere both for lunch and dinner!
J. C.
Got a delivery - there was not enough food to justify the £25 cost and an unfortunate side effect of getting it delivered was that it was lukewarm. The duck itself was quite tasty, but cold. Overall a rather forgettable takeaway.
T. F.
Understated authentic chinese restaurant offering a wide varierty of classic dishes as well as dim sum during lunch time. Athmosphere is random and the decorum slightly dated but still worth the culinary experience! Booking is recommanded during weekends.
M. H.
An excellent authentic Cantonese restaurant. Look no further for great Chinese food and even better dim sum. Best times to go are the weekdays for the lunch deal/menu and weekends for cheap dim sum.
P. Y.
The food is absolutely delicious really proper Chinese how it should taste very busy restaurant I would suggest booking before you go. It's not expensive either as very reasonable and very nice surroundings the staff are lovely and helpful.
J. S.
The food at this restaurant is first class. The service is excellent and fast and the price reasonable for its location. This was a repeat visit and just as good as the first!
m. L.
Very affordable lunch option, simple and quick
M. G.
We had a great meal. We all enjoyed the Peking Duck. The fried noodles were really good. Also the Clay Pot beef was excellent.
H. B.
Was a great experience and food was very nice. Only reason not a 5* is due to the fact they put a £9.50 service charge on the bill which makes it a very expensive meal
J. L.
Friendly service, good tasty food, nice quiet atmosphere and good value. We couldn’t finish it all so were offered a “doggy bag”. Definitely going back again. Portions quite big so would be fun with more people.
D.
Amazing Chinese restaurant, the best kum pao chicken ever had in London.
S. Z.
I grew up in Guangdong, and I know how authentic Cantonese food tastes like. This restaurant is so good that it has most kinds of dimsum with decent quality. Highly recommended.
K. K.
Awesome food here!! Loved the quality and selection. Killer traditional recipes that everyone will enjoy. Just delicious!!
J. C. H. W.
Booked a table for ten and dishes preordered were absolutely delicious and beautiful! All the guests were impressed! Highly recommend and would definitely come back!
C. M.
Big menu with lots of vegetarian options. On our visit service was rather slow and we were in a particular hurry but food is very good so will forgive them this once! Will try again when in less of a hurry.
L. M.
Great food , slightly expensive, but worth it.excellent ambience
S. M.
Both the duck and the black pepper beef were sooo good. For value for money I would recommend the duck because it is cheaper and has rice included, although you could share the black pepper between 2 people.
C. B.
Very pleased with this place. I normally go to China town for oriental food but from now on this is where I'll be going. Staff polite, place was clean. Food was very good.
F. H.
The last 'fated lunch' with the in-laws thank God. I fled after, 30 seconds of meeting them, otherwise, it could very easily have been 'The last Supper!' It nearly was!! Oh, that was the Pesach family Jew do a month earlier, with all the Chinese Whispers going around. I certainly wasn't putting up with another one!!
R. N.
Amazing food and good service. They have a very reasonably-priced lunch menu. Quite a few vegetarian options too.
H. R.
Dumplings of good quality. Prices reasonable . Manager efficient. Staff could speak some more english. Positive experience.
A. F.

(Translated) I walked without thinking and saw the duck hanging in. I went in a hurry and ate really delicious. The special rice which is fried rice is very simple, but it contains plenty of shrimp, and it is quite satisfactory because it has plenty of rice! The duck meat has a lot of whole, so I made it half, but the taste was ok, but it was a bit sad because it had lots of bones. Take a dip in the sauce and taste it! The dim sum (king prawn) is not very good, but the taste is really good. I ate pork with a recommendation, but it was too sick. The employee was Malaysian, but it was good to be so kind.

(Translated) Excellent Chinese food, some dishes are really very spicy and it's a treat.
Pasta with crab meat is a delight, as are beef noodles.
In short, I highly recommend it

Excellente cuisine chinoise, certains plats sont vraiment TRÈS épicés et c'est un régal.
Les pates a la chair de crabes sont un délice tout comme les nouilles plates au boeuf....
Bref je le recommande chaudement

(Translated) Very good food, very nice place with a beautiful decoration. Only one small problem, the fact that it is a bit noisy. But that is not enough to remove a star. Great fortune cookie at the end.

Très bonne cuisine, lieu très sympa avec une belle décoration. Un seul petit hic, le fait que ce soit un peu bruyant. Mais cela ne suffit pas a enlever une étoile. Super cookie de la fortune a la fin.
