Reviews of Ev Restaurant
J. M.
Apparently EV was the winner of the 2021 British Kebab Awards for “Best Value”.
The food tasted good with nice presentation and good location.
However their £20 shish kebab (after service charge) was mostly salad and bulger wheat with only a relatively small quantity of meat.
I was expecting “best value”, instead I got a slightly overpriced and slightly undersized kebab.
C. N.
Great place, both restaurant and cafeteria parts!!! Good food and friendly team :)
D. V.
Location is good, decor is nice.
Food was ok but didn't stand out 'Turkish delicacy' from other similar places. Be it Hummus or lamb balls.
Negative: forced service charges on top of already jacked up pricing in recent months (this my 3rd visit in last 18 months)

I had an amazing experience. Food was incredible and the staff was super nice and friendly. Would recommend 100% and will return!
C. M.
Great quality food. Good service. Authenic ambience. Music less traditional. Food reflected area of London prices. Many other great Turkish restaurants in North London very much cheaper.
S. V.
Much delayed staff Christmas meal was excellent, generous and the service was great too. Never been a fan of sea bass, but it was delicious. Will definitely be back.
K. S.
The best restaurant in London so far. Service was excellent. I felt at home even though I am not Turkish. Amazing experience with my friends. Will return definitely. Thank you for the delicious food and awesome service.
P. L.
It's always a pleasure to eat here. The menu is great and its never too busy. Staff are always attentive and it's a good place for grabbing a quick bite or impromptu meal when in the area.
N. I.
Amazing selection of delicious meze dishes as well as mains! Lovely atmosphere and authentic look both inside and outside and very attentive staff. I have been going there for a few years now and don't intend to stop :)
B. A. N.
The food tasted average, bland with minimal flavor. The burak was big disappointment - who cuts the spinach and keep the stems???!- the place has good vibes might visit for drinks but not for food.
A. B.
The food was delicious here. I'm not usually a fan of Turkish but this place was really good.
The service was really good and attentive. Quite a big restaurant and in a very nice area.
L. W.
This is a truly wonderful location, in beautiful arches - you could be thousands of miles away. The service is also great, and friendly, and the food is fantastic. I would have spent all afternoon here, given the chance
R. L.
The best of the Taz group. EV has a restraunt, a deli & café, and a bar. Nice outside space for the summer. Oh, and great Mediterranean food!!!!
Q. L.
Very elegant and accessible restaurant. They serve big portions and for fair rates. We loved the menu very much and the staff were super friendly and explanatory. I recommend this place.
M. D.
Nice food and great atmosphere with spacious feel to it under the arched ceilings. Baklava and the vegan chocolate cake were absolutely delicious!
O. Y. O.
Not bad. We ended up going there late after theatre, the guy looked at his watch twice before he let us in no smiles from him as well. The manager was more polite. Meat is halal apparantely but the fish isn't? Double check with them please. Abit pricey for what you get but delicious and filling nevertheless.
G. K.
Delightful Turkish food ! If you're craving for a home made meal with home style flavours to excite you palate, then Ev is a great place to dine with your close one or friends.
I always go for a saucy meal with Patlıcan, which is wonderfully cooked aubergine in fresh tomato sauce with colourful peppers.
They used to have it with chicken meatballs, which were heavenly, now it comes with potatoes as a vegetarian meal but just as delicious 👌❤ Please bring back the meatballs they were amaaazing ! :)))

Great surroundings for this restaurant and it never fails to deliver on food quality or quantity..my go to restaurant when I'm up in town.
D. C.
Such a beautiful and relaxed place to chill with a drink, a number of huge plants make sitting outside even more enjoyable. The inside was clean and Staff were friendly. Large screen for all you footie fans. Amazing choice of foods. Just a word of advise, if your arranging to meet up with people note that there are 3 EV restaurant, cafe all next door to eachother. We were waiting for a group of friends to turn up only to find out we were in the wrong one 🤣🤣.. we met here to remember a dear friends passing, and it is going to be our yearly met up here.
M. A.
Very nice place woth wonderful staff. The food was amazing too with good portion size. Food is halal.

Under the railway arches down a plant line Isabella street you will find EV cafe and its sister bar and restaurant. This review is for the cafe specifically.
EV cafe do a roaring lunchtime trade in their Turkish food where you can either eat in or take away. The main lunch option is choosing from a variety of veggie salads including their amazing hummus with a side of their store baked bread.
A bit on the pricey side for a few salads for one but cheap if you are splitting between friends, go 5 salads to share.
They do a pretty good coffee as well
And plenty of indoor or outdoor seating. In summer it's a real treat to sit outside and be surrounded by all the plants
B.
Food was good. Esp. the grilled beef garlic sausage as a hot mezze. But cocktails aren’t great so I’d suggest avoiding them. Go for a glass of wine instead perhaps.
S. D.
Good Turkish restaurant in town. Many mezes, Turkish kebabs and other foods and turkish drinks are available.
Very good atmosphere, entertaining environment. It is also good prices wise.
R. P.
This was a great venue for our office lunch. Roomy, excellent feel to it - could almost have been on holiday! Food was very good and they managed our booking of about 20 people really well. Very friendly and attentive staff. It was also really handy that there was an interconnecting bar next door (I think these are all built into railway arches) If you are in the area and looking for a classy venue for your meal Ev is definitely worth checking out.
S. F.
When I came here, I thought I'd try something new, so I ordered the kagitta kilic. To my surprise the swordfish was baked in amazing sauce, which owes it's amazing taste to the white wine. I would definitely recommend this, if you find yourself here.
T. M.
Wonderful selection of Turkish vegan food and super friendly staff.
Really delicious falafel salad, roasted aubergines and houmous dip.
S. K.
Sunday afternoon, was quite had plenty of vegan meal to choose from the menu. Staff was lovely
S. H.
Great service great staff. Apologies for Bismah Saleems review she is only doing it for freebies! I know this because she’s an ex colleague and we frequently check out food places! Check her reviews .. can blatantly see she just wants free food and she gets it so many times as well. Pink coconut on ladypool rd have refunded her for the whole order - but she didn’t give us the money she kept it when we all paid seperate. Stingy woman
B. C.
great and happening place. Great pub and authentic turkish food..sweet groove with lot of greenery. Book your table well in advance always crowded.
M. K.
Lovely to discover this place tucked away in a plant-filled lane beside the railway. I went on a summer evening and it truly reminded me of being in Turkey.
Good food and good atmosphere.

I love this restaurant, great staff , brilliant food, something for everyone,it's my favourite place to eat in Waterloo where I live , please go eat and there .
S. L.
One of my favourite Turkish restaurants. Slightly fancier then than your typical mangal but food is absolutely delicious, everything is good. Perfect for big groups.
M. O.
Lovely food for a good price. A little bit hidden but its worth it.
N. C.
I came here for lunch last week for the first time and really enjoyed it. It is a beautiful restaurant with lots of room and a lovely decor. The food is good and looks and tastes authentic. I will be coming back again soon.
J. H. J.
Amazing place inside and out fantastic food and plenty of it. Staff were lovely and very helpful
S. G.
One of my favourite restaurants in London. Food was wonderful as always. Service was excellent. Will be back again
C. B.
One of those places that someone needs to tell you about otherwise you'll never know it's there.
There are 3 separate rooms here,, each distinctly different yet you can wander between them if needs be.
First arch is a self service cafe, the second a full waited on table service restaurant and the third is a bar with big screen TVs for sporting events. There's also a number of outside tables for when the rain holds off.
3 options for Mezze: Vegan, Vegetarian and Omnivore.
The house red is perfectly palatable and the Turkish Coffee well made too.
Can't work out how it took us so long to return.
V. e.
The food was very nice also we moved tables twice but the guys over there were very understanding about it
F. K. (. a. F. K.
Never lets me down. Attentive service, gorgeous, leafy outside area and delicious food, served in generous portions.
A. A.
Easy to get to. Good parking. Great location for walking to also from the station. As soon as you get there you feel like your walking I to a Turkish garden. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Portions are huge. Food is delicious and inexpensive. Expect around 25 a head with drinks. Highly recommended.
k. c.
Had the red lentil soup to start and Kul basti for the main, both delicious. Beautiful restaurant, attentive staff. I went on a quiet weekday evening, I hope it gets back to pre covid levels.
I. G.
Delicious food and plenty of it. We had all we could eat and a few drinks for £40 a head, which seemed okay. Character full room, you can't hear the trains.
C. S.
Great service, brilliant to be indoors/outdoors.
Food was copious and we'll cooked/presented.
Very much enjoyed my first trip there
M. W.
Atmospheres was good, you can eat outside or in.
I found the food ok, nothing special. I I Felt like a lot of the food was not made fresh.
The waiters were fantastic and very helpful.
This is the 2nd time I've been here, not sure if I would go again.
K. M.
Wonderful ambience sitting under the canopy of this hidden garden in such a central location. Good service and great food. A perfect place to escape the heat wave on a Saturday night.
S. E.
We went to the bar side, not the restaurant. Nice place to get away from busy central London and chill before seeing a show at the Old Vic or Young Vic both just around the corner. Hidden away so wasn't busy. We just had a drink and relaxed. Bit pricey for tea and can of drink, but relaxed enough that you don't feel bad nursing your drink for an hour or so.
A. F.
Amazing food and drinks, service great aswell:)
M. T.
Great little nook off The Cut, with a lovely "lost down a cobblestone street in Turkey" atmosphere to it between the archways and the greenery. There are good, covered outdoor dining options and the menu is a small selection of very delicious food.
B. O.
Absolutely amazing find! Food is fantastic, service is very quick and the restaurant itself is gorgeous.
N. I.
Good value for location, nice food and outdoor atmosphere. Service a little slow but it was very busy!
P. B.
Almost completely empty but a lovely location serving great food.
B. S.
My family always come to Ev (this means 'at home') for family a get together. There are three interconnected spaces under railway arches, all beautifully decorated. The first space is a deli, where you order salads, freshly baked bread and non alcoholic drinks to take to your table. The second space is a large restaurant with linen table cloths and attentive table service. The third is a bar, with every drink that you could possibly need. The management has gone to a lot of trouble to make the outside area look Mediterranean , and it works beautifully. The road outside is called Isabella Street, but you can't drive down there, it's pedestrianised, and full of plants, that's the attraction.Large selection on the menu in the restaurant, but if you would prefer to eat in the deli they will take it through to you. Thursdays and Fridays are packed in the evenings, but lunchtime and weekends are nicely quiet.
M. T.
Lovely food and nice wine at a reasonable price. Staff were nice too.
S. S.
Very nice setting ..down a very leafy back street very close to Waterloo station. Food really nice and friendly staff
A. D.
Lovely restaurant, the most delicious quiches served with a large selection of salads. Morroccan desserts to try always tasty, serves soft drinks and alcohol. Very reasonably priced, set in a garden of exotic plants, you wouldn't think you were in London. You are able to sit inside or outdoors, underneath the arches off the Cut. I love it!
M. H.
They have a great atmosphere and excellent music in there!!
K. M.
Haven't been since just before lockdown and reassured to find it as good as usual.
R. B.
Very quiet when we visited early January food good
C. R.
Great food! Very hospitable place, highly recommend.

I've been here several times over the past 10 years. It's a nice setting with the greenery a welcome sight in the city. We sat outside this time, but I have been in the main dining room in the railway arch on other visits. We chose the Tam menu and really enjoyed the selection of 5 cold and 2 hot starters. I love the walnut one in particular. I chose the lamb fillet as I've always had this and it's been great. However this time it was a bit if a let down and the lamb didn't have much taste, but was tender. The mash was watery and tasteless. My friend had the calamari with salad which was more successful. The 3 dessert plate was tasty and so it was a good ending to my birthday meal.

Lovely lunch, staff friendly and helpful, very conveniently located by Southwark tube and very affordable compared to similar restaurants. Oh, and the food and wine were great too.
P. C. (.
One of my favourite restaurants in London and have been at least a dozen times. The food is always excellent quality and very varied. I have had more succulent meat dishes at other Turkish places, but always find the non-meat ingredients of the best quality and well prepared. Service can be a touch slow when they are busy, but this place has always had a relaxed, Mediterranean feel, quite unique among London restaurants, so I have always been happy to overtook. I've never ventured to the bar, as noisy eating and drinking aren't my thing; instead my favourite thing is to have lunch at the cafe, outside on a sunny day among all the plant pots. Really huge, rich, delicious portions with loads of fresh Turkish bread and dips. There's nothing better in the city.
D. A.
The quality of the food is matched by the quality of the staff. Overall, an absolute pleasure.
S. A.
The food was ok and the service was really good! Lovely location and area.
G. L.
Wonderful Anatolian restaurant in Southwark. Friendly staff were able to accommodate our request to be as close to outdoor as possible given that it was such a warm evening. The Vegan Mezze was delicious and I'm told (by my fellow diners) that the lamb was so tender. My niece's 10 Yr old said that the humus was the best she'd ever had! She also wanted me to mention that the toilets were immaculate. All in all a lovely evening. Thank you.
L. L.
I love this restaurant. The food is super tasty, plenty of options for vegetarians. The staff are really attentive without being over the top. Creates a relaxed environment. The restaurant itself is lovely inside, in the railway arches, with plants inside and out giving it an unique feel. There is a bar attached which is great for before and after your meal
C. H.
In terms of food, not as good as the Turkish restaurants in Harringey but it is up to a certain standard. The service and the ambience is very good.
T. G.
I love the location, feels like an oasis in London. Food is lovely (portions are too big) EV team are friendly and helpful. One of my favorites!
L. K. L.
Always great service, atmosphere and food every time!

Good food. Very nice and spacious outdoor seating.
L. C.
Great place! Good food and very relaxed atmosphere. The outside space is lovely when the weather is nice.
T. G.
Sadly, very very empty. Food is still good though.
R. T.
Stopped for a leisurely (2 hours) Turkish lunch with friends. Three main rooms to choose from: a self-service restaurant, a waiter-service dining area and a comfortable bar with plenty of seating. Having first ordered our drinks at the bar, we sat at a table where waiter service was offered. Excellent choice of authentic dishes available, from traditional kebabs with bulgur wheat or salad, lamb shanks, marinated chicken, together with a good selection of pasta-based dishes. We opted for a small selection of baklava pastries for dessert with fresh mint tea. Overall merited 5 stars but lost one due to the sound system being tested while we were eating.
P. C.
9pound , 2 course lunch. Delicious. Add Turkish lager for a feast.
j. t.
If you fancy a beer or a bite to eat in the middle of the hussle and bussel of the southbank.
But fancy it in in a off the beaten track, surrounded in greenery, this could be the place for you.
In a series of converted railway arches you've got a choise of ev's, jacks bar or Thai silk.
And if your tastes are a little more lively same place Friday or Saturday night.
Top spot!👍
m. m.
Very good restaurant, I recommend all you guys. It’s really spectacular restaurant. Everybody should taste amazing foods in here.
A. W.
On a warm day you can sit in the shade outside the cafe eating great Turkish food which you can select from the cabinet in the cafe. This means you can have what you want and experiment with new dishes and only pay for the portions of what you order; the staff will heat any dishes which need it on request. Drinks are limited for this way of ordering but we had a melon juice, their own brand, which was lovely and an aryan (Turkish drinking yogurt - which does have salt in it). The cafe also has a Turkish deli shop which sells the country's specialist food.
L. C.
This is a perfect dining experience, providing fresh and colourful food that you feel good eating. Tucked away in the Cut in Waterloo it uniquely placed in the arches. If you are sensitive to the sound of trains passing by, you will need to keep this mind if visiting. However, it did not distract from my dining experience.
The decor inside is full of earthy colours and the table settings are neatly presented. The service is good and attentive.
The food is the real star. The salads look like paintings and freshness from the products have to be tasted. Portions are sensible so that you feel satisfied, but not over full.
For cocktail lovers, there are a few on offer that will bring delight. It truly is a marvelous dining experience for high-quality Turkish produce.
I. S.
This lovely restaurant was recommended to us by a friend and we totally fell in love with this hidden gem!
Romantic atmosphere with Turkish folk music on the background. Beautiful interior decor. Delicious food (we shared a grilled meat platter), reasonably priced.
The service was super efficient, as we had limited time for our dinner before heading off to a theater show. I am looking forward to coming back here again and introducing my friends to this charming restaurant.
R. B.
Great service and tasty fresh food👍
The aubergine, peppers and yogurt dish is delicious.
Everything everyone had was tasty!
I went with a group, and the restaurant was heaving, it was a Tuesday night....and I can see why..
Nothing to say except an unexpected gem, return yes+yes!
Plenty of space for big groups too.
Smokers note (lots of large covered areas with heaters)

Visited for dinner on Saturday night a few weeks ago. I love Turkish food and have been to a couple of the Tas restaurants, so I was expecting a great meal. We ordered a couple starters (grilled sucuk and the courgette patties) to share and, while they were tasty and served with bread, I was quite shocked at the small portions. For my main I had the lamb shank with steamed potatoes on the side, and my boyfriend chose the lamb skewers with fries. My lamb was disappointingly very bland. I found it strange that there was no seasoning on the table, so we had to ask for salt, which I felt uncomfortable doing. Looking around however, I saw that none of the tables had salt or pepper pots, and two other customers also asked for them. My boyfriend's lamb was nice, but the fries were undercooked. The portions for the main courses were more reasonable, but overall, I don't feel this meal, which came to just under £70 (with two non-alcoholic drinks and service charge), was value for money at all. The service was quite efficient even though it was very busy, hence the third star.

This place is a favourite. Beautiful sunny day so we sat outside in the garden area, canopied by plants for some shade. Food lovely and fresh as always. We had borek and chicken patties with couscous. Glass of Turkish house white wine went down well. Felt as if we were on holiday.
M. B.
I've always thought how pretty Isabella Street is
With all the greenery, the arches and the fairy lights
I am very glad me and a friend chose to come to Ev tonight!
Love the decor - outside and in
The food was very yum and the fresh orange juice was very refreshing
Reasonably priced (we got the eat out to help out discount so that was a bonus!)
Food arrived very quick considering it was fairly busy
We were checked on, a few times ensuring we had all we wanted
Alper was very accommodating when I requested for a little area to perform my prayers
He really did go that extra mile
Thank you!
I would defo be back and I would defo recommend Ev
We had a very pleasant evening
Thank you so much!
R. B.
Lovely decor and chandeliers. Expensive. Two slices a cake, a tea and a coffee was £14. They also do not take cash.
Y. A.
I loved it, the food was great and the customer service - excellent! Especially Kemal Gunaydin, who made sure we had everything we needed in the best possible way I have seen in London restaurants. There was a young lady, a waitress, who made a nice, good impression too, but unfortunately I didn't ask her for her name. Both of them were Turkish and we even had a lovely short chat, which is how I just confirmed my opinion that they are professional and genuine, the best combination for me personally to feel good as a customer.
P.S. The place has a big bowl of Turkish delight at reception, which was sooo much better than those from the shops! Everything looked carefully thought of.
A. M.
Beautiful decor and food. I had the mixed grill. Not a huge fan of lamb but this was cooked perfectly and was tender. Starters were great and atmosphere was cosy. We spent £80 between 3 people with starters mains and tea after. Great experience.
D. H.
Average food taste. Lack the variety of the original Turkish food. generally not bad.
s. d.
This place is really good. People nice. Price is good. You can find Turkish food here.
S. R.
This is a Tas restaurant btw, the inside is beautiful
P. N.
Great food fantastic service brilliant atmosphere
H. K.
Enjoyed an evening with friends. We ordered a mixture of started and mains. The food was tasty - the lamb shank was the best. The chilli sauce is more salsa than chilli sauce but very tasty nonetheless. Service was good.
C. O.
This is one of my favourite places to eat, great Turkish food, lots of choice and reasonably priced. In the summer, when they open up the front, it feels positively Mediterranean. If you don't want a full meal the next door cafe is also excellent value
C. P.
Great place for lunch, has tasty salads, quiches and hot food. Particularly good for vegetarians and vegans, although they do also have meat too. Also fairly priced considering how good the food is and how nice the restaurant setting is. Would definitely recommend!
D. K.
Very good. Good food and service to group of 8 was very efficient. Impressed by how well organised
they were after long lockdown.
j. h.
Eaten here several times and consistently good. The food seems authentically Turkish (never been to the country itself) and i love the way they cook rice and lamb so i am in heaven.
Service is a bit flat, they are neither rude nor overjoyed to serve you but they are ok.
A. B.
Bustling restaurant. Decent menu and reasonably well priced. Service could do with some improvements. Felt slightly rushed with the food. Enjoyed the sea bass dishes and my companion enjoyed a lovely vegetarian option.
J. L.
.
Is this authentic Turkish?
Never been to Turkey, so cannot say what authentic Turkish food is like.
But the food here is just delicious! Whenever we come, we all love it.
The most recent visit. Biggish party of us, loads of meze, everything I tried I just loved. Couldn't tell you what anything of it was, but that doesn't matter. As I said, I liked it all.
Service was smiling and efficient, you felt very welcome.
In fact you felt as though you were visiting your family.
Have been half a dozen times. Will certainly come again.
V. F.
The restaurant has a nice location and the service is good. The food and the wine are slightly more expensive than the average. We were 4, we had 4 starters, 3 mains and 1 dessert + 2 bottles of wine ~ 140 paund
M. S.
Beautiful restaurant. Food was extremely fresh and delicious. Service needs some honing as staff seemed a bit confused / haphazard on occasion and we had to wait quite a while for drinks and to pay our bill. Overall though a lovely restaurant and very good food.
M. H.
Very nice surroundings with Mediterranean decor not over the top. It is bright an airy, seating is available outside as well and there are massive bifolding doors that are usually open which adds to the ombience. The food itself is very nice very tasty, the proportions however are a bit on the small side and drinks quite expensive. Having said that I have been there twice and would not hesitate in recommending it , It is good for a variety of settings ie very large groups Christmas work party's or just for a couple having a romantic meal. I will definitely be returning.
A. P.
Very relaxing environment with great food and friendly staff
S. M.
Lovely food and great service 👌
L. W.
A lovely meal in a quiet spot that feels like a secret hideaway where you can spend several hours chatting, eating and enjoying the food. Gluten free and vegan options and staff who are helpful but leave you in peace to enjoy your meal and company without feeling harassed. The food is consistently tasty and there are lots of options to try all at a reasonable price for very central London. I recommend this place for anyone who finds themselves in the area but keen to escape the hustle pre theatre or pre/post train journey from nearby Waterloo. A hidden gem that is well worth a try. Maybe not Michelin star standards but more than good enough 😊
P.
Loved the food and the service. We had the set menu which is good value. We all left feeling well fed.
Would recommend
M. D.
I had the set menu and the selection of mezes were reasonably flavorsome and there was just about enough to share between three people. My main course felt a little bland. It was healthy and nourishing but there was no taste to it. They had a lot of staff milling about - some were great, some didn't seem too bothered.
R. S.
I've always loved this place - Turkish Bar, Restaurant and deli / bakery. Food is amazing, service is great. Now I have a Turkish Fiance so I am a bit biased... but the most important thing.. On a Friday night, this is the only place on Isabella Street where there isn't a toilet troll! Think the beer is cheapest too, but actually being able to wash my own hands is fantastic!
T. P.
EV is a favorite for Turkish quisine. We have been coming here for at least 15 years and it never dissapoints. Prices are reasonable and service is attentive and friendly. It is definitely worth a visit.
A. L.
No stand out dishes. Reasonably priced meze platters.
M. E.
Some of our group ate from the set lunch menu. The felafel and the kofta meatballs were delicious. The complimentary bread was too. Others had the Meze which was nice but underwhelming. Very respectfully prices for the set menu but considering the taste of the Meze it was a bit overpriced. Very nice beer. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The restaurant itself is very nice and beautifully decorated
U. n. f.
Beautiful place and food. Staff were very helpful. Went for lunch but imagine it will be even better during the evening. Perfect for dinner with friends for special occasions. Near stations so good links to transport. Tough to find parking if driving
J. B.
Food was great but a little pricey. Short and interesting list of desserts. Service slightly haphazard which is surprising given the number of waiting staff there were.
P. M. L.
Nice Turkish restaurant close to Waterloo, great atmosphere and decent food.
l.
Vibrant restaurant and bar in 3 railway arches. It's great.
B. L.
A good atmosphere here with a continental feel to this restaurant. Good quality turkish food served. We had the mezza style menu. It was good but some may prefer more meat dishes. There is a pretty sitting area outside when the weather is good. Staff helpful and friendly
M. H.
I had a birthday party and a leaving party here. I'd strongly recommend this place. The food is great for turkish/middle eastern food and the music was nice too. On Friday evenings they have a DJ and in summer you can sit outside the the garden area. The service can be a bit shoddy, but on the whole I like this place and have had many good times here.
H. S.
Was very quiet on a Sunday night. But a great no-frills option on the weekend when most of the other places around the area are shut down. Also, offers great al fresco dining when weather permits.

Beautiful Turkish restaurant under a brick archway with great options for mains at 15 GBP or tapas array at similar price. Calamari and humus were delicious. Homemade flatbread was soft, fresh and plentiful! Close to Waterloo station.
J. W.
Really nice cafe, decent food selection and nice outdoor seating area
K. M.
I really like EV, and used to waste many a work lunch hour, and Thursday/Friday night here when I worked locally. The food is fresh, varied and good value. The deli next door is great and the restaurant is always welcoming. Definitely worth popping in if you're in the area.
S. F.
The food is okay here - not the best Turkish food in London but certainly far from the worst. This place really comes in to its own in the summer, when you can sit outside, surrounded by flowers and no traffic whizzing by. It's a proper oasis.
A. Y.
Venue was nice, service was good. Food was nice.
J. L.
Lovely atmosphere, fantastic staff and great value for money.
Have already recommended this restaurant to family and friends.
R. S.
Excellent...classical music would be appreciated
X
Christmas music was beautifully appropriate
A. M.
Gorgeous restaurant in a gorgeous setting. Food was stunning and I'd your hungry, its ideal... The plates of food are huge!! So we'll worth the money. Will definitely return!! 👍👍😎
L. K.
Great restaurant, authentic Turkish cuisine and friendly service
c. m.
Went last night after work. Table of six. It was only getting busy. Food ok, quite expensive, inefficient, slow service although nice. Good location for Waterloo stations and jubilee line. Wouldn't recommend.
S. A.
the great place in lovely atmosphere and delicious food. the waitress with the nice smiling is so kind and friendly.
C. N.
Friendly service, tasty food and a really nice spot under the arches, away from the chaos of the Southbank
H. A.
A large restaurant, bar, cafe combo in the middle of Central London, very close to Waterloo and behind Southwark Station. A friendly atmosphere with good food.
Price for a 3 course meal is about £40 which is reasonably priced, including tip.
R. B.
Perfect little vegetarian restaurant attached the the Tas restaurants. In the summer, it's lovely to sit outside. The little market within the restaurant is great for picking up wonderful treats, highly recommend getting some houmous to take home with you, it's the best in London.
R. B.
A good place for catching up with old colleagues (now all retired) over a leisurely lunch. Not too busy so easy to converse apart from the rumble of trains overhead in Wateroo East. A good selection of small dishes and a bottle of Turkish wine followed by baklava and Turkish delight.
r. f.
Lovely restaurant with bar next door. There is good choice of vegetarian dishes though found the portions of the vegetarian main dishes quite small . A lot of staff and good service .
T. G.
We have been visiting this place for the last 10 years the food is always well And freshly prepared the staff friendly and efficient and our latest visit this week was no different
D. E.
Great Turkish restaurant in Southwark, under the Arches in Isabella Street close to Southwark Underground Station and Waterloo. Good selection of Turkish food, selection of Hot and Cold Starters which can be eaten as a meze with delicious bread. Then the mains you are spoilt for choice, aubergine puree and lamb stew is fantastic. Good wine list and all very reasonable.
m.
One of the best restaurants in Southwark with an extensive vegetarian Turkish menu and food shop. Everything here is freshly made on the day, delicious and extremely well priced. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Perfect for lunch or dinner
S. D.
Wonderful ambiance - great food but the flavors were not as "bright" as I was expecting. The wine selection is wonderful - especially appreciated the New Zealand selection. And love their starters.
R. D.
Thank you so much for looking after us this evening. We had a great meal, so much food and great value. Really top notch service and thank you for being flexible to our needs. Thank you.
V. P.
The food was lovely. Happily eat it every day. But we felt quite neglected and the friendly family vibe didn't make it's way to us. But the staff were polite, just didn't seem that interested in us.
F. L.
Amazing food and friendly stuff. Love atmosphere
N. A.
Always a great place for a meal.
F. F.
Value for money. Decent service and helping was appropriate. Would highly recommend it
A. N.
Delicious food and a lovely waitress, thank you! :)
P. K.
In summer, when you can sit outside, this location is preferable to its twin, Tas, just a hundred yards away, but if it's cold there's not much to choose between them. Reliable, standard, unexciting.
Update: I went again recently. "unexciting" still sums it up. This time there was someone furtively smoking in the restaurant and it took me ages to persuade the waiter that this was really happening.
J. B.
I've been coming to EV for a while now and have never had a bad experience. Lovely food, lovely staff, lovely restaurant and even better bar.
J. R.
Love this branch of the Taz chain. Excellent Turkish food and lovely outdoor bar with lush plants. Also away from the road - great.
Y. B.
Perfect dining experience, providing fresh and colorful food that you feel good eating. Great place, stunning atmosphere, fabulous food and fantastic staff.
M. S.
One of my favourite Turkish restaurants in London. It's big, with a nice outdoor area, and good for groups, or families with kids. The waiters were great with our toddler son. Normally we'd stay away from the set menus, and pick a few meze to share, then a grilled dish each. Try the Turkish wine too.
There's also a shop, where you buy some Turkish foods (e.g. sucuk/cheese/olives).
Y.
Been here twice over 5 years. Food is interesting and hearty, would recommend. A lot of seating and managed to get in on a busy night without reservation. Reasonably priced.
G. A.
A Turkish restaurant with a very impressive menu that's always busy, although you can generally get a table. The excellent meze platters and large selection will leave you stuffed as you keep going back for just one more mouthful. There's also a laid-back bar attached to the restaurant that stays open until late into the night. If the restaurant's busy, grab a table and order from their bar menu - it's still a fantastic range of choice and beats burger and chips any day. The aubergene, vine leaves and lamb kofta were standout dishes. Great for a quick bite to eat or a full meal.
E. I.
Beautiful location, you can sit inside under the arches or outside in their pretty garden. The food was amazing loved it! You get free bread and olives and a promt service. I woild definatly go again
M. O.
Ev is a very spacious restaurant, with an adjacent cafe and bar. Located in the beautiful hidden garden behind Southwark station, this place offers extremely tasty meals at a reasonable price. thoroughly enjoyed it every time! Recommended: Deniz menu (with a full-vegetarian option if required)
I. V. D.
Nice workers and amazing food
A. M.
One of my favourites for casual dining - particularly as a vegetarian. Can't go wrong with the meze platter.
N. W.
Beautiful Terrace for all fresco dining. Friendly staff, good traditional no frills Turkish food.
D.
Good selection of Turkish food with eat as much as you like bread and tatziki. Pleasant setting and a bar adjoining the restaurant is ideal for drinks before or after.
A. F.
The building was interesting and they have made it really nice inside. Other reviews about the food and the staff seem accurate, but it's worth a chance as we found the food good but the waiter a bit unfriendly
M. A. L.
I really love this place, the food is moderately good but the atmosphere is wonderful, the space is wide enough to feel peaceful and there is nowhere in london like that. I like quiet areas and for this reason i feel good to come here to work on my laptop or see friends :)
M. A.
Very nice place tucked under the arches. Good service and atmosphere. Complimentary bread, olives and Yogurt dip too. Split into 3 areas with lots of seating.
A. W.
Good food, but too expensive for my tastes. ITV staff in celebrating a birthday when we visited. Mostly large parties (inc mine) which did make service a bit slow.
C. G.
This was a really nice Turkish restaurant hidden away under the railway arches . Really tasty food a good selection of vegetarian options . We had a delicious lunch the portion sizes were good.
D. N.
Ev cafe/bakery (on the left of Ev restaurant) is the hidden gem under the railway arches. Quiet and airy during the day, perfect for a long catch-up with friends or to work through a gap between meetings near Waterloo. Great deli take-aways too – excellent black olive paste or honey-drenched Turkish pastries.
Y. Ö.
I love this restaurant and was delighted to be back here after a while away.staff are super friendly and the place has a great atmosphere. The menu is so wide ranging with something to suit pretty well all tastes. It is superb for vegeterians. The vine leaves, humus, beans, tomatoes, potatoes, chick peas and more are all so great prepared and taste divine.I look forward to my next visit to see the lovely staff ot this place
J. S.
Lovely food and lots of space.
C. E.
Great food, friendly service and saved money as I went on a Wednesday evening and was able to take advantage of eat out to help out deal
T. M.
Nice, well presented cafe under railway arches near Southwark tube station/Waterloo East. Wide selections of freshly made tasty Turkish salads to choose from and friendly staff.
N.
Glacially slow service and very hit or miss on the food. Lovely ambiance and wide range of menu items so we may be back to try other options.
A. H.
The vegetarian food was absolutely lovely and a real treat for the end of lockdown. Thank you!
G. J.
Great for big groups of people, birthdays, etc. Food is good and service is friendly. Not the right place for two people looking for food & drink though, and the bar next door is awful under all circumstances.
R. B.
Good service and amazing food
M. D.
The building itself is lovely, food was only OK but very well flavoured. The staff unfortunately were quite rude and the service was really slow. I'd give it 2.5 stars if possible!
F. G.
Absolutely love this restaurant. Amazing food, lovely staff, and great value for money. This is a constant good choice for me In London
a. D.
Very delicious food, kind staff and beautiful place. A brilliant service wonderful oriental turkish food. Totally recommend it.
E. E.
I love the Turkish breakfast here and staff are very tentative😁😎
K. N.
Great value and delicious food. Mezes are super tasty, borek is awesome. When the music starts in the nightclub attached, it can get a bit rowdy.
W. W.
A work experience made special by the Ev experience!
D. C.
Having held a wedding dinner here for a hundred guests, I can vouch for the service and dedication. Having eaten here a few times on our own the food was alway good and great value.
A. P.
Nice food, good portions, quick service, very nice location, good atmosphere, nice decor, comfortable seats and enough space for a buggy even at busy lunchtime.
D. G.
Nice place and location, friendly staff and quite spacious so more likely to find a spot. Decent food with generous portions
B. P.
Awesome food, great atmosphere
E. C.
This is my second visit. I absolutely love this place, the food, the service and the ambiance...Worth every star :) and more!
L. M.
Lovely restaurant with great selection of tapas size dishes and main meals. Great portions of good food! Sometimes live music too
A. C.
Slow service, food fairly mediocre and over priced. The vegetarian buffet next door owned by the same people is much better.
C. N.
Authentic Turkish food. Fabulous meats and desserts
S. M.
Love the food here!
v. a.
This place is amazing it’s really really nice to share with friends! And the food it’s incredible!
B. M.
Ev is a small chain of Turkish restaurants occupying 3 railway arches not far from Waterloo. One arch is a bar, another a restaurant and the third is an informal deli where you can buy soft drinks, meze, Turkish breads and other delicious things. Halal meat. The arches have been beautifully renovated and there is lots of outdoor seating in a wonderful urban garden. The street is pedestrianised. Nearest tube is Southwark.
M. Y.
Lovely food. Portions were a teeny bit smaller than expected. overall would definitely go again!
C. R.
Very good, nice food and relaxing. Waiters need to get the orders right; suggest may be good to write down the orders rather than relying on memory.
L. C.
Great service and food. Good gjr large groups. The deals here are great value for money, tasty food and good setting
S. F.
A deli, a restaurant, a bar - Ev offers all three in a trio of railway arches a stone's throw from The Cut. The food is up to the usual Tas standard. The outdoor seating is some of the handiest in London, with many tables, lots of greenery and no traffic to foul the air.
M. H.
Very beautiful restaurant and tasty turkish food. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Huge space, not crowded.
R. M.
The deli is one of the rare finds in London. Incredible vegetarian salads and plenty of pastries and options. For people that like plenty of flavours.

One of my favourite places to eat. Fresh, delicious food at a good price. Great urban garden as well.
p. L.
Good food and nice restaurant, excellent place
Thank you !!
Y. K.
Nommable Turkish food in a great setting - they have a cafe, restaurant and bar under the arches. I think it's part of the seemingly ubiquitous Haz chain, but it's much nicer than Haz.
A. C.
Brilliant place to watch football with a fantastic projector, good beer and great food. One downside is that it is a bit pricey
L. T.
Lovely venue under the railway line. Great turkish food. The service was slow (although the staff were friendly) when I was there.
M. C.
Excellent Turkish restaurant. Wonderfully secluded behind extensive planting, diverse menu, generous portions and quick service.
E. O.
Great atmosphere with both outdoor and indoor seating under the railway arches. Good Turkish menu with very tasty food..
B. S.
Really cool setting with a great vibe. I had the lamb shish and oh boy was it good. Perfect for an end of working week treat with the good lady 😁
R. B.
Don't usually rate places but food was delicious, great prices, layout is cool and it's not cramped inside. Should be more places like this.
R. S.
Beautiful outdoor setting and wonderful food. One of the best places to visit in London
R. W.
A wonderful cafe and restaurant in a massive space. The staff are lovely, food is good, and it's nice to have the separation between the relaxed cafe and the restaurant.
C. R.
Best place to eat outside on a nice day. Excellent food. Very good value.
F. C.
Good food, generally. Three out of our four dishes were tasty, the stuffed calamari was not so great.
P. A. R.
Not a big a variety in terms of food, but the hall is nice, I like the style.
M. K.
Good to see they are back. Yummy as ever and very good social distancing measures in place at the cafe and the restaurant.
S. S. B.
Big, no wait for table, decent food, large menu - and part of the local Tas chain. Perfectly pleasant, if not rather loud.
K. H.
Great food! Wonderful selection of straight forward, tasty dishes. Recommend!
D. L.

Worth seeking out. Lovely, tasty salads from the cafe, eaten at the seating outside made a relaxed lunch for us on a hot day.

L. J.
Food was lovely excellent presentation. Nice spot off the beaten track, good service nice and chilled 😊
M. K.
Good food but the place is too far from the main road
Delicious salads.
